Absence days vs payroll days - their implications to absence quota counting

Hi Gurus
Would like to understand why is absence quota deduction based on payroll days instead of absence days?
If there is a scenario in which the officer applied for a leave period which encompasses a Saturday (ws at that time is on alternate saturday), absence days and payroll days stored in IT2001 are the same.
However, if the same officer later backdates a change in work schedule in which his new working hours are from Monday - Friday, the IT2001 records would be recalculated and payroll days for that period with a Saturday would be 0 which is different from the absence day value.
Since so, wouldn't there be cases in which employees overtook leave when in fact they have really consumed the leave?

Hi,
Absence counting is driven by legislation. For example, in some countries leave entitlement is given in calendar days, in others in working days. In general absence days reflect calendar days, and payroll days reflect days that are paid. Obviously depending on legislation (if it gives entitlement in calendar days) absence and payroll days can be the same.

    Might be remaining days are Non working days/Weekly offs/ Holidays falls..
    You Better Check through PA30 Overview of Absence records, Whether the Days are deducted from Quota or not.
    Need to check absence class in V_554s_0

  • Difference Between Current Day and fist day of the payroll period

    Hi,
    How do i find the difference between the current day and the first day of the payroll period with period parameter XX.
    Operation VARSTFDYXX is used to decide if the current day is the first day of the payroll period. But is there any operation available to check the difference in exact number of days.
    I know hrs=y is used to find difference between current day and a date specification record from IT0041, but i need to check difference between current day and first day from a payroll period parameter.
    Any response is greatly appreciated.

    No! haven't seen it at all! Do I have to drain the battery completely and then charge it? I did that the first day I bought the phone and yet the stats are the same for me

    When I am creating IT2001 record for EL an error is coming, "Only absence less than 1 day are allowed for this absence type". Although Counting rule is defined properly and in check for Condition of absence <1 day & full day both are checked.

    The remaining amount for Casual leave is not updated even after we apply the casual leave .
    Suppose there are 20 CL quotas available. If we apply for 2 CLs then remaining should be 18.

  • Create absences on non-working days.

    Hello Time Gurus,
    I have a scenario in which the employees can record absences on a non-working day.
    The scenario is as follows-
    I have a Work Schedule -
    Sun(working) Sat(working) Mon(working) Tue(off) Wed(off) Thu(off) Fri(Working)
    The working days have a planned working hours of 9 hours and off day has planned working hours of 0 hours.
    I have two sets of employees (ESG) - Salaried and Hourly.
    The hourly employees should to be able to record absence on non-working day (non-working for me includes the public holidays as well).
    I have set the input checks for the absence type OFF on non-working day. I am able to record absence but with 0 absence hours, even though I input some absence hours...the absence hours turns zero because of the planned working hours maintained as zero on non-working day.
    How can I achieve this?

    how will we overcome the planned working hours as zero abd convert the same to working using the sleection rules for daytype....
    I still don't understand why you want to put an absence on non working day.
    Suppose the first week of Jan is as below in period work schedule 01.01 to 07.01
    NORM NORM NORM NORM NORM OFF OFF
    NORM will have 8 working hours and OFF will have zero working hours. Suppose say that 03.01 is a public holiday.
    In DWS NORM planned hours will be 8 hours but still due to day type rules it will be a holiday(non working day) day type = 1
    So now 03, 06 and 07 are all non working days for both salaried and hourly class.
    Now do you want that for hourly employees these days should be considered as working? and the same days should be non working for salaried?

    i have to generate a monthly report in HR .requirement is i hve to clucluate his arrears days and deduction days.suppose an employ has not come in 29th of the current month in his pay he is considered as present and gets paid for it as pay period is taken up to 20th only.and when runnign next month that absebt day pay has to be deducted if he has nt regularised,and if he has z0 in his absence and not paid this month and got regularised next month then that has to be paid as arrear days.

  • "Deal of the Day" is a day late (and a dollar short)

    Am I the only one who gets the deal of the day around 2AM - 6AM the day AFTER the Deal of the Day is available? Does anybody else have this problem with Best Buy not sending out the emails the same day that they're valid? Sunday's Deal of the Day had the Beatles' Box Set on Sale - too bad the email wasn't sent to me until 6:08AM on MONDAY! This has been an issue for the past few weeks. I have their email set as a 'safe address' unless my ISP is holding up the messages or is Best Buy not sending them out on the day that they're valid? I even get two of them some days, one of yesterday's expired offers and today's valid offers. I also will sometimes receive the Deals of the Day email after the store closes as well. So where's the problem - is it with Best Buy's servers not sending out the emails the same day, or is it my ISP holding-up the messages?

    It would be immensely irritating to receive Deal of the Day emails the day after the deals have come and gone. I am truly sorry to hear this may be what you are experiencing.     Pay no attention to iinami, the amount of replies to people saying their handsets must have been jailbroken everytime iTunes throws out an error is tremendous.   • Holiday as Working day - Marked as leave is not deducting from Quota

    Hi Experts,
    Please help me with below mentioned scenario.
    We have one holiday calendar for two personnel areas however holidays are different in both personnel areas, and as it is middle of year so I can't create a new holiday calendar for other personnel area so we maintain special day as working day in factory calendar to change holiday as working day for one personnel area.
    Holiday Calendar :- HA (haryana) ,                      Personnel Area (A)           Personnel Area (B)
    Holidays :-     25th Till 28th Oct Diwalii,                25th till 28 Holiday             26 & 27 Holiday only (25 & 28 working in special day rule)
    Issue :- personnel area (B) Now if Employee is getting leave for 25th (which is holiday in calendar and maintained as working day in special day rule) it is not deducting leave from quotas.
    Issue :- Half Employee on 25th are marked as Holiday (HH) in system however half have Absent (AA) in report.
    **(Should I try to make a deduction rule and counting rule for 25th & 28th as it is holiday & working togather... if yes thn what needs to be selected in counting rule)**
    Please provide inputs in this regards as it is urgent.

    Thanks man, I understood now, Yes you are right as but it is not working when I am trying to solve this issue after maintaining IT 2003. Now I have to go with second solution however I made Counting rule and deduction rule but facing issue assigning counting rule to Absence Type so the question is Do i need to make new absence type then counting rule and deduction rule or I can just make a counting rule and assign it to the existing Absence type?????
    Please help me through the process as I am little confused, just explain a bit like.. I need to make counting rule and assign it from <so & so> place.

    i am facing one problem while marking absence of employees in PA30 (IT2001)
    Absence is being marked from 06.01.2012 to 08.01.2012 system gives below error message
    "Last day 08.01.2012 of attendance/absence is a day off (att./absence type LWP)"
    If an employee goes on Leave without pay:
    My problem is how to Consider this Off day as Absent day for Employee so that his salary is deducted for this Off day also ?

    Whatever you raised the issues with possible Counting rule..
    I was mentioned every thing in my earlier reply.. You need to select all week days, select all DWS class (0-9), select Holiday class (Depends upon client business, otherwise select not a public holiday),  select All day types..Select all counting class, select conditions for planned hours (two options i mean both), select conditions for absence/attendance (two options, i mean both of that), counting in days in hours and days as"100".
    the save record, Enough it will work..
    Note: you need to do all your ESG for time Quotas, PSG for Time Quotas which of the using all counting rules i mean your create 3 groups and 3 counting rules (With same number only) for LWP then need to changes all the rules.

  • How do I take a calendar template (i.e. Day 1 Run, Day 2, etc) and place it in iCal whenever I want to start?

    So basically what I'd like to do is take a 12 week half marathon prep program and be able to shift the workout days based on whenever I choose to register for a race. The program already has the data (Day 1 - run, Day 2 - strength, etc), but I'd like it all to be on iCal.

    I have both types stored in the database, I don't care how I query the data, I just need to know how to convert the date to a numerical string, 1 through 7,  with 2 being Monday or whichever number Monday converts to, in my query so I can output it properly. I am not able to accomplish this in my query. without getting an undefined function in expression.
    There are several dates in the calendarDate column, 10/27/2009, 12/01/2009, that converts to 3 for Tuesday when I output #dayofweek(calendardate)#. However I can't use this string in my query without the undefined error.
    How do I convert this string into something my query will accept? Am I making sense?

    Total No of Days will be
    D2 - D1
    No of holidays between D1 and D2 , use the FM HOLIDAY_GET
    Pass the From date , to date , and the factory calendar to get the of Holidays
    Total no of days - Number of Holidays will your Working days

  • Outlook multi-day (not 'all day') meeting requests showing up as 1 day off on iphone attached Activesync Exchange 2010 accounts

    iPhone iOS 5.01 (4/4s) using ActiveSync
    Outlook 2007 clients
    When multi-day (not 'all day') meeting requests or appointments are being sent to email accounts which have an iPhone attached to the Exchange account via ActiveSync, the iPhone accepts the meeting request but then moves the event one day later than what it was originally scheduled and posts it to Outlook - also 1 day later than it is supposed to be.
    For example:  A meeting request comes into my that is schedule for 9AM-4PM M-W but when I accept it on my iphone it gets posted to my calendar as an ALL DAY event but T-Thu
    We upgraded to Exchange SP2 because some of the threads were alluding that SP2 would fix it - it didn't.  I know the fix is to rip out the event to separate calendar events but this will not work for reqeusts coming from outside.  And this is too tedious.  If anything, it is a serious bug.
    Anybody seen this before?

    I am experiencing a similar problem with a client of mine who is using Microsoft's Cloud-based Exchange server, Office 365.  I suspect the Office 365 server is an Exchange 2010 server, similar to your environment.  Check out my tests below which I think define when the day shifting happens. 
    I see that you applied SP2 to your Exchange 2010 environment, but have you also applied Update Rollup 1?  See this article:  http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2563324.  It would be interesting to know whether that rollup resolves your problem.
    I have done some pretty extensive testing and have posted in the Office 365 Support Forum (http://community.office365.com/en-us/f/146/p/53396/192332.aspx#192332)  Here is a summary of my testing.
    I am having the exact same problem described by Jim Edmonds and jkwmail (http://community.office365.com/en-us/f/176/p/19921/93304.aspx#93304) with one of my clients who is not very happy about this or our inability to resolve the problem.  Here is what I am experiencing:
    When an appointment in Office 365 spans multiple days, the appointment gets converted to an All Day Event and moved forward one day on an iPhone ActiveSync client.
    I have completed the following troubleshooting:
    1 - Using my GMail Account and my work email account on MS Exchange 2007 SP 2 Server I created separate single day appointments in the morning from each account spanning two hours and invited my client who is using MS Outlook 2010 and Office 365. 
        Result:  The appointments show the correct date and time on my Outlook, MS Exchange 2007 SP 2 OWA, and iPhone as well as my client's Outlook, Office 365 webmail, and iPhone.
    2 - Using my GMail Account and my work email account on MS Exchange 2007 SP 2 Server I created separate single day appointments in the afternoon from each account spanning two hours and invited my client who is using MS Outlook 2010 and Office 365. 
        Result:  The appointments show the correct date and time on my Outlook, MS Exchange 2007 SP 2 OWA, and iPhone as well as my client's Outlook, Office 365 webmail, and iPhone.
    3 - Using my GMail Account and my work email account on MS Exchange 2007 SP 2 Server I created separate multi-day appointments from Friday at 5 PM to Monday at 8 AM from each account and invited my client who is using MS Outlook 2010 and Office 365. 
        Result:  The appointments show the correct date and time on my Outlook, MS Exchange 2007 SP 2 OWA, and iPhone as well as my client's Outlook and Office 365 webmail.  However, on my client's iPhone, the time on the appointments had changed to an all day event and the start date was shifted one day forward, Saturday, and the end date was Monday unless the appointment end time was after the appointment start time in which case it created an All Day Event on Tuesday as well.  For Example:  If the appointment was from 8 AM Friday Morning to 8 AM Monday Morning, the iPhone would show an All Day Event on Saturday, Sunday, and Monday.  If the appointment was from 8 AM Friday Morning to 8:30 AM Monday Morning, the iPhone would show an All Day Event on Saturday, Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday.  If the appointment was from 8 AM Friday Morning to 7:30 AM Monday Morning, the iPhone would show an All Day Event on Saturday, Sunday, and Monday.  This was also true for appointments starting on Friday at 5 PM and ending on Monday at 5 PM, starting on Friday at 5 PM and ending on Monday at 5:30 PM, and starting on Friday at 5 PM and ending on Monday at 4:30 PM as in the above AM examples. 
    *** Again I would like to note that on my iPhone which is connected to my company's MS Exchange 2007 SP 2 server, the multi-day appointment shows up correctly with correct start and end times and is not converted to an All Day Event. *** 
    It would seem this is a problem with ActiveSync on Office 365 and iOS devices.  What is particularly frustrating is that this exact problem is identified in KB 2563324 (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2563324) Issue 1.6 - "An appointment is longer than 24 hours is changed to a multi-day All Day Event" which states:  "To resolve this issue, install Update Rollup 1 for Exchange Server 2010 Service Pack 2 (SP2)."  Since this is a cloud based service, we do not have the ability to either see what the current version of the Exchange service we are connected to is or update the service with this patch level.
    4 - I performed the above three tests with my client creating the events in MS Outlook 2010 and inviting my work account on the MS Exchange 2007 SP 2 Server and got the exact same results.
    5 - My client's iPhone is running iOS 4.3 and my iPhone is running iOS 5.1.0.  In order to test this without going through the update process on my client's iPhone, I set up his Office 365 account on my iPhone and performed the tests in numbers 1-4 from above, viewing the results on my iPhone, and got the exact same results.
    6 - Today, I tried this with a different Office 365 account, performed the multi-day test in number 3 from above and got the exact same results.
    7 - Today I also upgraded my iPhone to iOS 5.1.1, performed the multi-day test in number 3 from above and got the exact same results.
    8 - I have confirmed that all time zones are set correctly.  I have checked the iPhone, OWA, Office 365 Webmail, etc.
    I believe the problem in my case is with the Office 365 environment and not the iOS device.  However, trying to get support from these large companies seems to be very difficult?
    Does anyone from Apple know if this is an iOS bug or a problem with Exchange 2010/Office 365?

    I think this should work fine
