AC 5.3 - BW Reporting - Sizing

Hi All,
If we have a GRC server that is sized at 120 GB, how big does the BW server need to be sized to store the equivalent data set?
I can not find any onformation on this subject.

Great question. This has initiated a big discussion in our office.
We would like to know which of the following is correct:
a)  SP09 will add a data mart component to the GRC Application Server, and the client user would need to install a front end Crystal Reports tool to analyse reports from the data mart on the GRC application server. (This does not require installation of a Crystal Server instance)
b) SP09 will install a custom connector in the GRC application server allowing data to be extracted to an external Crystal Server box to which users will connect and view reports. (This does require installation of a Crystal Server instance).

    Problem comes when any of the filter is applied in any one of the cases selected from the GUI.Do you mean that the problems only shows when you run the report in your browser via 9iAS?
    Which version are you using?
    Can you post the before report trigger?

  • Sizing gif image in report

    We have a number of reports that have been converted from BO v5 that had a logo at the top of the first page.  Having converted them to Webi, we cannot now get the logo to display properly.  For example, if one of the original logo files is examined in a graphics package it is sized at 616 x 284 pixels and when inserted into a Word or Excel document measures approximately 4cm wide.  However, when the same image is inserted into a Webi document, and the 'autofit width' and 'autofit height' parameters are selected, it is approximately 16cm wide.  We have tried adjusting the 'width' & 'height' paramaters to be the same size as the original image file, but that just resizes the cell containing the image and causes only part of the image to be displayed.  We have also tried resizing the image in a graphics package first, and although this renders it nearer the correct size, the image quality is lost.
    Does anyone have a solution for this problem?

    As far as i know these are all the formatting problems due to migration from 5x or 6x to XI. The problem you are facing is also due to migration. Try deleting the image and reinsert it.

  • Suite on Hana sizing report

    We ran the sizing report (/SDF/HDB_SIZING) as per note 1872170 in our R3 4.7 SAP system. We got our output, but bugs me is the number of tables reported with an error:
    Number of tables successfully analyzed:                                 20,702
    Number of tables partially analyzed:                                         0
    Number of tables with error:                                            21,733
    Is this normal?
    The warning we got was the following:
    WARNING! Some tables have no statistics.Check if the sizes of tables with error
    code "1-" could influence the sizingresult significantly.
    Error estimation in % due to tables with errors :                            0
    Below is a couple of the tables that reported with an error:

    Similar to APS splitting option, what sizing parameter should i consider specific to Crystal Reports 2013 in 4.1 environment
    (80%) of their total number of objects are Crystal. All of the reports are direct on top of DB.
    Which Memory parameter needs to be tweaked in Crystal Processing/Adaptive Job or Cache server?

    You have to limit option in Crystal Processing server - Limit this option to may be 100k records -Database records read when previewing and refreshing .
    max cache size- in cache server.
    If you see any issues while running the crystal reports, you can tweak the option based on the issue- Java heap size, perm size.

  • SGA Sizing + OEM Issue+AWR reports

    Hi Techies,
    There is small application(Billing Application) running on Laptop. (Windows Vista 32 bit , RDBMS 10.2.0.3.0.)
    1- We have increased the SGA_MAX_SIZE. Thought of Increase 700 M. Once we did the changes it has taken effect as 702 MB Allocated to SGA_MAX_SIZE. The same thing happened, while changing the SGA_TARGET Parameter.(After changed the parameter, it has added up 2MB extra).May I know the reason why the 2MB has added while changing the parameter.
    2- OEM is not working , When it prompting for the Host User name and password, it won't accept the username and passowrd which I am used to Login into the Laptop.
    3- After the generated the AWR reports, how to approach the finding , though it has many more data . Please help

    If you're looking to performance tune your database, run the AWR report - preferably starting and ending at snapshots during which times there was a fair amount of activity, then post the section 'Top 5 Timed Events' here and I will point you in the right direction :-)
    If OEM is still not working, you can manually take snapshots and generate AWR reports from sqlplus.
    Take a manual snapshot:

    Produce an AWR report:

  • Question on sizing Webi reports

    Is there a way to make a wwebi report fit the user's viewing window.  There are so many different screen resolutions being used, that it's hard to get the report size correct for everyone.
    My reports tables fit nicely on A3 paper size, and Adobe Reader nicely resizes to standard letter size paper for printing, this works great.
    Can Webi reports be setup to be viewed so that the report fits inside the users viewing window, rregardless of size and screen resolution ?

    No. Your question is not obtuse at all.
    I don't believe it's possible to avoid the scroll bars; at least I can't think of a way to do this without extensive customization.

  • Report performance while creating report on BEx

    All all!
    I am creating a report on BOE 4.0 on top of BEx connection as a source. I have developed reports on top of universe in the past and i know that if we keep calculations on reporting end it hampers the report performance. Is this the same case with BEx? if we are following the best practices is it ok to say that we should keep all heavy calculations/ aggregation on BEx or backend for better report performance.
    Can you guys please provide your opinion based on your experiance and knowledge.  Any feedbacks will help! Thanks.

    Definitely  best-practice to delegate a maximum of CKF to the Cube where possilble,  put RKF in the BEx query, and Filters too.
    also, add Default Values to your Variables (this will speed up generation of the bics transient universe)
    also, since Patch2.10, we are seeing some significant performance improvements  reducing 'document initialization' and  'time to prompts'  by up to 50% (step such as these often took 1.5 minutes, even on sized systems)
    Also, make sure you have BW corrections like this implemented:  1593802    Performance optimization when loading query views

  • "Memory  Sizing" error on Sun Fire V65x

    Hello.
    I have some trouble with my old Sun Fire V65x and i hope that you guys can help me out.
    I had 2,5GB RAM installed in my server, working flawless. 2 x 256MB and 2 x 1GB modules. 256-modules in Bank 1 and 1GB´s in Bank 2.
    To get rid of the boot up warning of wrong memory configuration i moved the 2 1GB modules to bank 3 (as stated in the manual) but that was when the problem started.
    In this configuration the server won't go to POST, i tried moving the 1GB modules around between bank 1, 2 & 3 without any result.
    The server will not go to POST. No beeps, no nothing. When turning the server on line it starts up, the fans starts running on at maximum speed and that's all, no picture and no POST and the system warning LED turns to red. After a couple of minutes in this state the fans slow down for a couple of seconds and then back to 100% (repeating cycle)
    The POST diagnostics LEDs at the back of the main board indicates POST code 13h, "Memory sizing". The main board does not report any defective DIMMs, also worth mentioning is that the 2 256MB DIMMs are working flawlessly in all banks.
    I have tried:
    Resetting the memory config in BIOS (using the 2x256 DIMMs and then installing the 2 1GB modules.
    Moving the memory modules around between different banks, both alone and with the 2 256MB DIMMs present.
    Clearing the CMOS settings.
    Searching manuals and Google for hours without answer to my problem or what "memory sizing " means in this situation.

    Sun Fire V65x
    1 CPU
    If anyone know the answer to my dilemma and are willing to help me, i would be really grateful.
    Sadly i do not have the possibility to test the memory modules in another system.

    Hardware. A reboot will probably not do anything. From what I can tell, it's a CPU cache problem. If you do anything, shut the system down completely, turn the power off for a minimum of 20 seconds to let any residual electricty go away, the turn it back on. If the problem returns, you'll most likely need to either get a new CPU module or a new V100. I don't know if the CPU can be removed from the V100 motherboard, but since there are jumper settings for the speed I would assume that you can.

  • Performance issue in DB need help with analysing this ADDM report

    My environment:
    Os: RHEL5U3 / 11.1.0.7 64 bit / R12.1.1 64 bit

    Few days are am facing serious of performance problem in our Production instance. Normally the issue will occur 5 to 10 minutes occasionally per day. At the time of issue we not able to access the EBS application its taking time to load. But backend all the oracle, listener and apps services are up and running. No locks at table and session level. Cpu and memory usage is normal.
    We have monitored using "Enterprise Manager" for this issue and we found the wait session present more in Active session tab. At this time EBS application is not able access its loading too time. After some time the in Active session tab the wait session came normal and when we try to access the EBS application its working fine.
    We try to find the cause of the issue by running addm report. But am not able to understand what its says. Kindly suggests me

  • Performance issue webi report-BOXI3.1

    Hi,
    We have a requirement for a report where we will give user a set of objects (26 u2013 31) to do analysis using interactive viewing feature. Here we are facing severe performance issues and memory issues as the data that we are calling is huge( around 6 million records). At the report level we will be summarizing the data.
    No of rows in the report is depending on the no of objects.
    Mode of view : Interactive view.
    Note:
    1. Objects which are using in conditional level those have indexes.
    2. No of report level variable are two.
    3. Version of Business objects: BOXI3.1
    4. OS: Sun Solaris
    Please let me know if there are any means by which the memory requirements for the report can be minimized/ performance of the report can be improved.

    At the report level we will be summarizing the data ... any means by which the memory requirements for the report can be minimized/ performance of the report can be improved
    Is there any way that you can summarize this on the database side versus the report level?  The database should be sized with memory and disk space properly to handle these types of summarizations versus expecting the application to perform it.

  • Printing from HTML rendered page assume bigger margins than defined on the report

    Hello!
    I have a report with PageSize and InteractiveSize of 29,7cm x 21cm and Margins of 2cm each.
    Body of report is 25cm width.
    When rendered in report server and then try to print it I get some blank pages because it changes print margins to 2,032cm each!
    I tried other margin sets like 5cm, and it changes to 5,08cm.
    If I set margins to 1,5cm it changes to 1,4986cm.
    I tried to print to a different printer and does the same.
    Does anyone knows why this happens and if I can control it?

    I'm running OS X 10.5.4 on a Mac Pro with 2 x 2.8 GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon & 4 GB 800 MHz DDR2 FB-DIMM Memory (I installed the latest security update this past week).
    I updated to ACR 4.5 (thru adobe tech help) after installing the security update. I've been using Epson driver 6.10- beta version for Mac OS X 10.5 for several months with no problems.
    Seems to me that ACR 4.5 previews stated that some printing issues would be fixed with this upgrade, along with support for more cameras, and support for linking to CS3 from LR2.0.
    It is possible that the security update affected printing from Adobe CS3. Several months ago there were serious problems printing from Aperture & Lightroom that were "fixed" with an OS X security update. Some of those problems were printing size & orientation problems, as well as incorrect color. I checked printing after this latest security update, but not with custom sizes.
    I guess I'll have to do some further investigating to determine what exactly is causing the current problem & find a workaround. I'm not a computer expert - I'm a photographer. And I'm getting weary of having to find fixes for things that should have been handled by the development staff for the various software products that I'm using - plus, it gets expensive when paper and ink are wasted - very expensive when printing to large custom sized paper. And very bothersome when you cannot depend on what you see in the preview window as to print size nor orientation.
    Anybody else out there with similar problem with the latest upgrades?
