Access to VM's console

I have a 3 node Hyper-V cluster (hosts are Windows Server 2012 R1) managed by VMM 2012 R2. Is there any way to give specific users possibility to connect to console of specific VMs? From within VMM console, Hyper-V console, Failover Clustering console
or any other method?

Yes, you can using Self-Service User role—Members of a role based on the Self-Service User profile can manage their own virtual machines within a restricted environment. Self-service users use the VMM Self-Service Web Portal to manage their
virtual machines. The portal provides a simplified view of only the virtual machines that the user owns and the operations that the user is allowed to perform on them.
To create a self-service User role, you can refer below link

  • Can't access to Portal Admin Console.

    Hi all,
I'm working with WLP 10.2. I've created the ear-file (using maven) and deployed it on server (with Unix-system). The current application works well.
My current task is a creation portal in streaming mode. Unfortunately I can't access to Portal Admin console for resolving task. I always retrieve "Error 404 (Not found)".
As I know the admin-tools.war is responsible for Portal Admin Console. I've checked admin-tools.war is running on server (with status "Active").
I'm using the next path for running Portal Admin Console: {serverhost:port}/{context root of admin-tools}/portal.portal.
    Maybe, Should I set up(correct) application.xml or weblogic.xml?
Please let me know if you have any ideas.
    Thanks,
    Yuriy

I think your URL is wrong, try with the following...
    http://{server:port}/{name_your_ear}Admin/portal.portal
name_your_ear= The name of your Enterprise Application.
    For example,
    http://localhost:7001/DemosEarAdmin/portal.portal
    I hope this helps

    Hi,
Another way to "find" the URL for the oamconsole, that I use if I'm not familiar with the configuration I'm working on is to first log into the Adminserver WL Console, then go to "Deployments".
Then, find "oamconsole" in the Deployments listed (on the right).
Click on that, then on the next page, look for the "Testing" tab. Click on the "Testing" tab, which which show the /oamconsole app.
Click on the "+" to expand the tree, and you should see a bunch of different URLs on the right, e.g., if you have OAM console deployed to managed servers, etc., there'll be different URLs for those, etc., and you can just click on the links to open up OAM Console in your browser.

This is concerning WLI7.0. I have implemented and created a user with Monitor
Role. That is I have added this new user to the following 3 Groups from the Admin
    console:
    1) wlpiUsers 2) MonitorInstance 3) Monitors
Now when i tried to log-into wlai console, it doesn't allow me to even log-in.
    Whereas I can log-in into b2bconsole but can't do anything in there.....access
    denied.
I wanted to know if there is anything i can do to give this user atleast some
READ-ONLY access in these 2 consoles.
BTW, i can give READ-ONLY access to this user for Admin console & to the Studio.
Please suggest some workarounds or best practices.
    thanks, steve

  • Use access level in BPEL console

    Hello Everyone,
We started using BPEL (SOA Suite 10.1.3.3) for OTM to 11i integration. Currently, everyone has access to the BPEL console to monitor BPEL processes or to track errors, even in production. Now this is really scary as anyone could go in and mistakenly clear the instance archives or even undeploy a process. No one other than the Unix admin has admin privileges to any of our other middle-tier applications and this should not be any different. But we also need a way for analysts to view process progress and trouble-shoot issues.
Is there any way we could give specific users access to the BPEL domain with only read-only privileges? I read about changing the Bpel console servlets to do the task, but I am afraid, this might violate Oracle support contract. I am sure we are not the only one having this problem.
    Does anyone has any suggestions?
    Thanks in advance!
    Shaf

Not sure if that functionality is provided in 11g.
I'm not sure how much access you would want to give non-technical people to the console, all the information here requires a fair bit of training.
Oracle has human workflow and, bpel error frame work, which is deigned to notify and inform non-technical people of issues, etc. This means that you don't need to grant access to the consoles.
    cheers

  • Problem Accessing Mapviewer 12c Administration Console

I am attempting to install and configure Oracle Mapviewer 12c (v12.1.3).  The installation appears successful but after performing the installation, I am unable to access the Mapviewer 12c Administration Console.  The default Admin Console URL is http://[host]:[port]/mapviewer.  I can reach the URL using a browser (Firefox, Chrome, IE) but the admin welcome page will not display.  The browser just "spins it's wheels" as it tries to load the page. The image below is from Firefox
Examining the browser's developer console (by pressing F12) while the page is loading, you can see it cycling through the login page repeatedly (see image below).
My environment consists of the following:
    1) Server OS: Linux x86_64 (RedHat Enterprise 5.11)
    2) Oracle Weblogic Server 12c - "Oracle Fusion Middleware Infrastructure" distribution
As per the documentation, Oracle Mapviewer 12c requires specific dependencies that the Generic Weblogic Server installation will not provide (i.e. http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/middleware/weblogic/overview/index.html).  Instead, you must use the "Oracle Fusion Middleware Infrastructure" distribution, to install weblogic server and all the required dependencies.
The Oracle Fusion Middleware Infrastructure distribution was downloaded from the Oracle ADF download page on OTN or from the Oracle Software Delivery Cloud.
    - Oracle ADF download page on OTN: http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/developer-tools/adf/downloads/index.html
    - JAR file fmw_12.1.3.0.0_infrastructure_Disk1_1of1.zip
    3) Oracle Fusion Middleware MapViewer Version 12c (12.1.3)
    - downloaded from http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/middleware/mapviewer/downloads/index.html
    - JAR file is fmw_12.1.3.0.0_mapviewer.jar
Following the instructions in the Users Guide for Oracle Mapviewer 12c E29624-02 (http://docs.oracle.com/middleware/1213/core/JIMPV/index.html), I first installed and configured Weblogic Server 12c, followed by Mapviewer 12c.
I made two different installation attempts:
    a) I installed Mapviewer Using the Universal Installer
    b) I Manually Deployed an Exploded MapViewer EAR Folder in WebLogic Server
Both attempts produced the same results.
Specifically, after installing and configuring Mapviewer, I could verify the version of Mapviewer using the URL:
    http://[host]:[port]/mapviewer/omserver?getv=t
Accessing this URL immediately resulted in the expected response text string:
    Ver12.1.3_B140430.1010
I could also successfully access the Weblogic Admin Console (http://[host]:[port]/console) and confirm the Weblogic is running, and that Mapviewer has been successfully deployed and running as well.
However, at this point, if I try accessing the Mapviewer 12c Administration Console via http://[host]:[port]/mapviewer, the Console launch page does not display (as described above).
At this point, I am asking myself why does Oracle's Demo site work (http://slc02okf.oracle.com) and mine doesn't.  I assumed Oracle's own demo site for Mapviewer was using Mapviewer 12c.  I based that assumption on the fact that Orqacle's Demo site (http://slc02okf.oracle.com/mvdemo/demo/oracle_maps_demo_v2.jsp) displays a header referencing Mapviewer 12c (see image below).
However, when I queried the version URL for Oracle's Demo site (i.e. http://slc02okf.oracle.com/mapviewer/omserver?getv=t), I see instead that they are running Mapviewer 11g!!
    Ver11_1_1_7_3_B140717
So, long story short, has anyone successfully deployed Mapviewer 12c, and if so, can you access the Mapviewer 12c Administration Console??
Any and all input is greatly appreciated.
    Wayne

Wow!  That was it.  I was starting the Mapviewer server using 1.8.0_31 (the latest Java 8 JDK).  I switched it over to 1.7.0_75 (latest Java 7) and it works!  Big Thanks!
The Mapviewer 12c User Guide states that you need "JDK7 or later".  I just assumed "later" meant JDK8 as well.  However, when I checked the certification matrix on My Oracle Support for Mapviewer 12c and JDK, it only shows Java 7 as being certified.

  • Re: How to access the Windows Recovery Console?

How can I access the Windows Recovery Console. The Microsoft KBs state that it can be accessessed from booting with the OS DVD. However you don't supply OS DVD only the Toshiba Recovery Disks. When I boot these it only gives the option to erase all data and restore to original state.
    I have a Toshiba Qosmio F10 running Windows 7 32bit.
The reason I need the recovery console is due to a chkdsk failure that has now lead to it running everytime I boot and hanging each time. Other MS Articals say I can get out of this endless loop by using the Windows Recovery Console.

Windows 7 was preinstalled soemwhere on HDD when I purchased it new in June 2010. All I had to do was selcet 32bit or 64bit the first time it ran. I then took the option to create recovery media (which burned 4 dVDs). However the only option using these dvds is to run install which the screen states will erase all data and reinstall as supplied from the factory.
I need to get to some form of access the the HDD which means I need to stop chkdsk running at startup everytime it boots and then hanging every time. I can't access sfae mode either. I need to abort chkdsk get into either a command prompt or windows so I can run other utitlies to check the HDD.

  • Issue with web access in view administrator console after connection server 5.5 installation.

    Hi All,
I am  trying to bring up my setup with ESXi 5.5 and vcenter 5.5 U2. I made a DNS server and made two 2008 R2 machines and launched vcentre and connection manager on them.
After installing connection server 5.5, I am unable to open the web UI by clicking "view administrator console" icon on my desktop! I installed proper certificated and iis module too and confirmed that my https certificate is properly working. (snapshot attached, filename - snapshot_view_webpage.jpeg)
I google for the possible error and tried below mentioned links but none of them worked.
    1.)    http://kb.vmware.com/selfservice/microsites/search.do?language=en_US&cmd=displayKC&externalId=2004759
Corrected this error but still system is in same shape and i am unable to get the console's admin webpage.

In this method, my admin folder  didn't got recreated as the service restart got stuck for a long time and throws error that service restart got time out!!(snapshot attached)
Can some one please help me to move forward. Please let me know if you need more information from my end.
    Thanks,

Since the policy AKS is top in sequence under service selection rule so it should hit for sure. As you wrote that even after disabling the default device admin, then also request is hitting the same and restarting the ACS services resolved the issue. The symptoms of your issue are exactly same as stated in this defect.
CSCuo93378    Certain browsers cause ACS database corruption
Due to this issue we have seen cases where request hits the disable and default policies without any reason. Actually accessing ACS via chrome mess around with all the operators in conditions.
The only workaround is to access all the rules and conditions in supported browser. Ensure all the operators are correct, save the changes and restart the ACS services.
The issue seems to be fixed in ACS 5.5 patch 5

  • Accessing ESSO Reporting Services Console

    Hi to everyone,
I have just deployed the Oracle ESSO Reporting Services (version 11.1.1.5.0) with MS SQL Server 2008 R2 database to collect events about ESSO-LM. Both the Reporting Console and database are on the same server with Windows Server 2008 R2.
Events from one, test, client (there are no others at the moment) are being written to the database well, but I can not access the Reporting Console via web browser. As soon as I fill the user credentials, the login process starts but fails with the following errors (depending on the Silverlight):

I have also tried to install different version of Silverlight on the client site but that did not change the behaviour a bit.
The browser I use is default installation of Internet Explorer 8, which is the company standard, but the error occured also on Firefox 3.5.18. The error shows both when connecting to the Reporting Console via network from PC station as well as when launching the console localy on the server.
I have tried to rebuild the environment with no success.
What perplexes me is the fact, that I have been able to successfully implement the ESSO Reporting Services in our lab enviroment where I have not experienced this.
I have found a thread here dealing with this problem dating a few years back but with no solution. Have any of you happened to see this? If so, were you able to solve it? Could you please give me any hint which direction to go to solve this?
    Thank you in advance,
    Ondrej

The problem disappeared on its own over the weekend.
