Ack.. plug-in incompatible

Question

Posted this but got zero answers, so here's a repost
with sample code....
I am using the MultiList component from VCafe, but it
has problems with the Java plug-in (on both IE and NS)
I want to stick with AWT and JDK 1.1.8 for various
reasons, e.g. running the same bits with MS IE
and the plug-in JVM so no swing..
When I try to close the browser window, this is what
I get (and the browser freezes)
java.lang.IllegalStateException: Can't dispose InputContext while it's active
at sun.awt.im.InputContext.dispose(Unknown Source)
at java.awt.Window$1$DisposeAction.run(Unknown Source)
Here's a sample piece of code

I'm having a very similiar problem. My Multilist works fine in IE using it's standard jdk, 1.1.7. However when I install the jdk plugin to upgrade to 1.3.1 or 1.4 this is when I run into the exception.
If you come up with any solutions I'd love to hear them.
