Acrobat DC Upgrade Wiped my Actions?

After spending a lot of time setting up a series of actions to suit my workflow, it appears that the new Creative Cloud update to Acrobat DC has just wiped them all away. Or maybe there's a way of getting them back?

Moving the discussion to Creating, Editing & Exporting PDFs.
Thanks,

  • Question on Acrobat X upgrade version

    Here is my situation:
One of my users has a copy of Acrobat 7.0 Standard.  He recently got a new laptop with Windows 7 on it.  Acrobat 7.0 doesn't get along well with Windows 7, so we have decided to purchase Acrobat X Standard for him.  What I want to know is if it's necessary for Acrobat 7.0 to be installed before installing the Acrobat X upgrade?
As best I can tell, Acrobat 7.0 does install on his computer, but the pdf printer portion does not.  Still, I do not want to be in a situation where my upgrade license doesn't work because the install is incomplete or damaged due to incompatibility with Windows 7, and I do not have time to try it and then go through hoops with customer service to send the package back if it doesn't work.

In order to upgrade you don't need to install the old version at all, you
just need to have its S/N at hand because you'll be required to fill it in
    during the installation.

  • Acrobat 11 upgrade issue.

I just downloaded the Acrobat 11 upgrade. When I click to open the application it automatically shuts down. Multiple tries, same issue. Any solutions?

    Hi Wendy,
I have few questions for you:
Was it working fine for you before?
Have you updated Acrobat to v11.0.07?
Have you checked the performance a new Admin account?
    Try the following:
Move the cache.db file from the location Macintosh HD>Library>Application support>Adobe >Adobe PCD>Cache and move the cache.db file on to your desktop.
Close and reopen the application, you will get a prompt to enter the serial key, enter it and check if Acrobat is still crashing or not.

I had two laptops stolen and the reinstall is a real pain. This also applies to reformats and changeovers to Windows 7, etcetera.

Windows 7? Then don't waste your life minutes fumbling with an Acrobat 8 - Windows 7 combination.
If you are to be using Win 7 you'll need the current release of Acrobat (XI). "X" will function but it is no longer marketed by Adobe.
    Be well...

  • Acrobat X Upgrade

Can an Acrobat X Upgrade be used to upgrade a Reader X?

No it cannot. Acrobat and Reader are two different applications.

If you update via iTunes and synced media like apps and music are not in your iTunes library they will be lost.

  • Trouble installing Acrobat X Upgrade Version using Acrobat 7 standard

    Hi forum,
some years ago I bought a Acrobat X Upgrade-Version for upgradeing my Version 7 standard. No problems installing that software that time.
Now I bought a new notebook and wish to install the software again on this new machine.
I installed the version X, using the key from the CD. Starting the program, I have to type in te key again. The software accepts the key, but wants to know the key of version 7. No problem, I thought, typing the version 7 key in the following field.
But now the software says that ist a wrong key?!?
    So I can´t aktivate the software... :-(
Installing version 7 first and then version X causes the same problem.
Any help? What can I do?
Thank you very much in advance!

  • Deactivate Acrobat before upgrading to new version?

I am about to upgrade from Acrobat 9 to Acrobat XI.
When installing Acrobat XI, will I be prompted to uninstall the previous version? Or will the upgrade installation automatically uninstall the previous version during the upgrade installation process?
If the previous version is uninstalled during the upgrade process, what happens with the previous version's activation status?
Do I need to manually deactivate Acrobat 9 before upgrading? Or does the upgrade process automatically deactivate the previous version during the process?
Will the upgrade process to the newer version result in the previous version's activation seat to be lost?
If no action is take to uninstall the previous version during the upgrade installation process, will both versions happily co-exist, or will their be conflict issues?

TimeTraveled during the installation process Acrobat 9 will be uninstalled.  Acrobat 9 should be deactivated automatically as part of the uninstall process.  This is mainly irrelevant however as your license for the upgrade to Acrobat XI requires your Acrobat 9 license.  Thus you would be violating the EULA if you were to install Acrobat 9 on two computers and then install Acrobat XI on two separate computers.
Finally your question regarding having both Acrobat 9 and Acrobat XI installed on the same computer.  For Windows users it is recommend that you do not have two version of Acrobat Acrobat Professional or Standard on the same computer.

  • Acrobat 9 Pro in CS4 - Acrobat X upgrade doesn't work with this!!!

I bought this upgrade which recognised that there was a version of Acrobat on my system but later on during the installation, said it was not an eligible product.  Doubt very much I'll get a refund from the vendor now the package is opened and used.
I am a self employed communication professional and my main tool for my job is MS Office.  It is very helpful to have Creative Suite so I can do things clients often can't (in Photoshop, Indesign  or Dreamweaver) but I mainly use Acrobat. CS4 was very large investment for me (more than my accountant, insurance, training or hardware) and with the exception of MS office 2010 integration, have no need to invest in an upgrade except for Acrobat.
I have seen in threads about different development cycles and that is all vendor centric and of no interest to the customer.  In a former life as a marketing manager of a software company I know full well there are ways around this - validate I have a CS package and then install the full product for example.
Has anyone had an official repsonse from Adobe about this.  I am quite tempted just to turn up at their UK office reception as it's near one of my clients!  I have just taken great delight in writing a very rude review on Amazon from where it was purchased.

You must work for Adobe Dave
Only the vendor could write such a pompous patronising and unsympathetic reply to a CUSTOMER
I have seen the other forum threads I know I am not the only person who is irked by the fact that they have spend £1000s and yet are still expected to shell out the full product again. No I did not read these prior to purchase from Amazon who stated I needed Acobat 7 8 or 9 Pro to upgrade.  Not everyone lives and breathes Adobe  or knows your 7 year history of shafting customers
    Pathetic.

  • Acrobat 9 upgrade from OEM Acrobat 6

I've used Acrobat standard in my business since v4.0, and upgraded once to v5.05. I am now migrating to a new WinVistaUltx64 system, and find that Acrobat 5x-8x are not compatible with Vista.
In order to reduce my costs, I am thinking of purchasing an OEM full Acrobat v6 Standard and Acrobat v9 Standard retail Upgrade. I expect to be able to install the v9 upgrade on my Vista system, using the installation CD from v6 as legacy verification for the v9 upgrade. The OEM v6 will not be installed on the Vista system. I have done this previously when I upgraded to a full retail v5 from a full retail v4, but not from an OEM version. Can anyone with more experience with Adobe Acrobat upgrades advise me of problems I might encounter in this scenario?
I know that OEM versions don't come with support options, but I have upgraded OEM OS versions to retail versions before, and support became available with the retail upgrade. Will support be attached to the Acrobat v9 retail upgrade, if I am upgrading from an OEM version?

You have to update to at least AA8.1.2 to use VISTA and 64 bit systems. I think that version will do it. Of course at this time, AA9 is what is available anyway. AA6 does not run on VISTA as far as I know. Be aware, if you do forms you need to upgrade to a PRO version. It is best to think of Std as an economy version. It left a lot out that users of AA4 and AA5 came to expect.
AA6 works fine on XP. Even AA5 works fine on XP, at least it does for me. I use AA8.1.2 on VISTA Business and AA7 on an XP tablet. As for the OEM upgrades I have no clue to help you. As far as I know, the upgrade will be to the full product. I do think that if you upgrade, the previous version that the upgrade was based upon is not supposed to be used any longer. You did not mention that scenario, but just one aspect to consider in case you had been thinking it.

  • How to install Acrobat 9 Upgrade to Windows 7?

I have Acrobat 6.0 Standard and the Upgrade version of Acrobat 9.0 Standard, which depended on 6.0 when installing with XP. I now have a new Windows 7 machine. Since there are problems installing 6.0 with Windows 7, how do I install 9.0? I'd rather not have to buy a completely new 9.0.
    Thanks. for your help.

I was able to install the upgrade from the DVD onto a Vista PC. It will prompt for the key from the DVD case. Once installed the upgrade will prompt for the key from the your previous version.

  • Acrobat 6 upgrade to acrobat 9 standard

how can i install acrobat 6 then upgrade it to 9. because i got a new computer and i want to install them again 9 again but i only have the upgrade version please help.

You should only need the serial number from version 6 if you only intend to install and use version 9.  When you go to activate 9 it will ask for a qualifying version in which case you would select version 6 from a list and specify its serial number.

  • Unable to Print After Installing Adobe Acrobat Reader Upgrades.

. What software version of Abobe Acrobat Reader should be used for an HP PhotoSmart Plus printer? I currently have Adobe version  9.3 installed. I receive pop-up notices to install new Adobe Acrobat Reader software upgrades. I have installed the software upgrades and then my HP PhotoSmart Plus printer was unoperational. I deleted the Adobe software upgrades and my HP PhotoSmart Plus printer began to operate. I contacted HP technical support and was told there is no compatibility issues between Adobe Acrobat Reader and HP All-in-One Products. It might be a problem with the specific Adobe software upgrades. HP requested that I contact Adobe support for problem resolution. Has this problem ever happened to you? Any problem resolutions would be appreciated.

Hello there! Welcome to the forums @Oldchev
I understand you cannot print, after installing your Officejet 7410 All in One  printer.
Please let me know the following, and I'll do my best to help!
What is the Operating System of the computer?
Have you tested hardware functionality (made copies)?
Have you tried printing from different programs?
Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling the software?
What Firewalls and Anti-virus software are installed?
Have you tried disabling or uninstalling them?
    Best wishes
