Acrobat X/Outlook 2010 Home Page/Webfolders Issue

All - I will apologize upfront if this does not belong in this forum, or it is felt that this is not an Acrobat issue.
We utilize a little used feature called Home Page/Webfolders in Outlook. Basically what we all grown accustomed to is creating a folder in Outlook and then change the folder properties>Home Page to point to PDF files that reside on our intranet site. Then when you want to view a PDF you click on the Outlook folder and bingo its displayed right within outlook. (This works great for those that live in Outlook and want quick access to common PDFs on the intranet (Org charts, phone lists, etc))
So after a recent round of computer upgrades (windows 7, Outlook 2010 and Acrobat x) all of a sudden the Homepage/web folder funtion has stopped working. Specifically the PDF files are not displaying in the outlook folder. You just get a blank page where the page would have rendered.
We have done some testing and Acrobat 9 with Outlook 2010 works just fine! which is why I am here.
Thoughts?
I can tell you that from what we can tell Acrobat X is installed and working properly. Even the PDF preview option has been selected by default in Outlook. I should also point out that we have had many computers previously running windows 7, and Outlook 2010 and did not have any troubles. The recent change appears to be related to Acrobat X.

LoriUAC - thanks for the reply! yes we have everything full patched and up to date. While we have done a repair on some of the machines, the issue (which I may not have mentioned) is that this is widespread. It appears that everyone running Outlook 2010 with AcrobatX has the same issue.
With that said, is anyone also having the issue or is this isolated to just us?

As per the description, I'm assuming that you are having synchronization issue with your IMAP account in Outlook.
"Synchronizing subscribed folders for [email protected] and Checking for new mail in subscribed folders on
[email protected]" - This is not an error message, did you see any sync errors in Outlook? Any Send/Receive error codes?
You can try below steps to troubleshoot the issue:
Check if your email account settings (incoming/outgoing mail server, server port numbers...) are correct. You can get this information from your ISP or email administrator.
Disable virus scanner integration.
Loading Outlook in Safe Mode to see if add-ins are the cause of the issues: Press Win + R and type "outlook.exe /safe" in the blank box, then press Enter.

Outlook 2010 change page print layout to A4 from letter

We have an issue with Outlook 2010 showing print page layout as "Letter" by default. We require it to be default set as A4. How can we change that centrally through a GPO or even SCCM (script)?

Have you checked the setting on the printer? Make sure the setting on the printer has been set as A4.
Normally, a program uses the default document properties that are set for a printer, and the initial defaults for a printer can be modified by the administrator. When a user connects to the printer, the user's defaults are set to these global

Outlook 2013 on 1012 RDS and Outlook 2010 FAT client font issue

Our terminal server was changed from a 2008 RDP box with Office 2003 to a 2012 RDS box with office 2013 on it. Now if a user changes a font - or any view setting - on the 2013 copy on the terminal box, their desktop in the office which runs Outlook 2010
has the 2013 settings. Why and how - if possible - do I make that stop?

Home Page Framework issues with Exit Button

Hi,
We are just implementing the ESS package within the new EP7 portal using ECC6.0. We are having a issue when we select a service within the Home Page such as Address, the iview gets displayed which brings up the different addresses which can be edited. On choosing for example the permanent address edit option the new screen appears where you can modify the details if I choose to exit from here, rather than taking me back to the initial page, a new page gets opened with the default to the Personnel Information Page. Could someone please advise what is currently wrong here as I have checked the resource link and service link and all seems to be pointing to the right pages.

If i understood correctly your requirement, check for the WDA service, that the field "Service Type" has the value "WDABAP".
Also, for the corresponding resource, check that the "URL of PCD" property matchs with "PCD Location" property of HCM Process Overview page, but entering by your Role (check note [1234273|https://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/1234273] for more info about this process).

Outlook 2010 Spell Checker AutoCorrect Issue

I have a senior executive who is running Office Professional 2010 Plus (32-bit) on Windows 7 Enterprise. His Outlook spell checker has been working fine up to very recently (not sure of the exact date of his issue).
AutoCorrect is turned on in Outlook.
When he types an E-mail, if a word is typed incorrectly, Outlook will not flag it with the red curly lines until he presses the Enter button one time. From that point forward, incorrect words will be marked once he presses the spacebar. No correction
occurs until the Enter button is pressed one time.
I ran a repair on Office on his machine and disabled then re-enabled "Check Spelling as you type."
Can anyone advise what is wrong .. that the user must press the Enter key one time to start the spell checker. It is not doing it on either of my 2 machines.

Compare the AutoCorrect setting from the File > Options > Mail > Spelling and AutoCorrect > AutoCorrect Options, is there any difference between yours and the following one?

Sharepoint 2010 - Home Page not displaying, all other pages work fine

The web page URL <server>/sitepages/Home.aspx is not displaying when accessed. All other pages work fine. We changed the default welcome page to another page, and that works. When we try to access the Home.aspx, it displays "An unexpected error
occurred" message. The Home.aspx only contains a couple of Lists, with Links, and a calendar. The other odd thing is that the Home.aspx displays in SharePoint designer in Advanced Edit mode, but won't display in a browser. Any ideas?

1) Check the approval of the page (Home.aspx) whether it is in pending state .
2) OR might be some problematic webpart is added in the page. You can try to close it and access. To do that,you can try to access the web part maintenance page of home.aspx and test by closing the webpart one by one.
To access the maintenance page,pass the parameters ?contents=1 after the home.aspx
For example, http://site url/home.aspx?contents=1
3) Also,check the ULS logs after accessing the home.aspx to know what is happening.

Sp 2010 web page dialog issue-appearing with master page

am opening a pop up which is a application page[_layouts folder] in a modal dialog box , with a label ; and this page has code behind also.
when i loaded this dialog box on a click of a link, it shows the site master page and ribbon.
i dont want to show the master page and ribbon etc.
can anyone tell what code i need to write so that it will open as a web page dialog without applying the site/application master page and ribbons

Outlook 2010 and smtp security issue

I get this message when I "Test Settings"
Send test e-mail message: Your server does not support the connection encryption type you have specified. Try changing the encryption method. Contact your mail server administrator or Internet service provider (ISP) for additional assistance.
I have checked to make sure SSL is being used and also the port 587 is used. Can anyone help me, please?

There was no need to play around, these are the recomended settings from Apple, published for all to see:
IMAP (Incoming Mail Server) information:
Server name: imap.mail.me.com
SSL Required: Yes
Port: 993
Username: [email protected] (use your @me.com address from your iCloud account)
Password: Your iCloud password
SMTP (outgoing mail server) information:
Server name: smtp.mail.me.com
SSL Required: Yes
Port: 587
SMTP Authentication Required: Yes
Username: [email protected] (use your @me.com address from your iCloud account)
Password: Your iCloud password
Note: If you receive errors using SSL, try using TLS instead.

Strange drag and drop email issue with Outlook 2010

Has anyone experienced this? It only started happening recently. It may have something to do with an installation of the most recent Office 2010 service pack. Here's the scenario: Using Outlook 2010 professional Try dragging an email from the email list
on the right into the list of folders on the left in order to file it When the drag crosses the email list to the folder list, the email drops into some random folder The drag operation picks up a random folder and now has a random folder attached to the drag
In other words, the email disappears somewhere and is replaced by a folder in the drag operation. It's not a mouse button issue as this doesn't happen anywhere else on the system while dragging, only in Outlook. Any thoughts?

Method A
Start outlook in Safe Mode, Press and hold the
CTRL key, and then click Outlook program
If the problem does not occur in the safe mode, this issue might be related to some third-party add-ins in the Outlook program, we can try to disable
them.
Method B
We can try to create a new profile in Microsoft Office Outlook 2010 to test the issue, follow these steps:
1.
Exit Outlook.
2.
Go to Start > Control Panel, click or double-click Mail.
3.
Click Show Profiles. Choose Prompt for a profile to be used.
4.
Click Add.
5.
Type a name for the profile, and then click OK.
6.
Highlight the profile, and choose Properties. Then Email Accounts..., add your email account in the profile.
7.
Start Outlook, and choose this new profile.
If this problem does not occur in the new Outlook profile, the old Outlook profile is corrupted. We can delete that and use a new Outlook profile.

Office 365 outlook 2010

I tried Office 365 and didn't like the way it felt so I uninstalled it and now my Outlook 2010 will not function property. 2010 will not send or receive emails
I get a message when I launch 2010 that reads:
There is no email account associated to perform the requested action. Please install an email program or, if one is already installed, create an association in the Default Programs control panel.
Everything worked until I added Office 365 and then uninstalled it.

Cannot see menu items on database home page after install of beta3

I have installed XE beta 3 in a Windows 2000 SP4 VM. Install went fine and I can get to the home page without issue. However, I cannot see the items when I use the pulldown menus. If I move the mouse cursor over them, it is possible to select although I dotn know what I am selecting!
Has anyone experienced this problem, or does anyone have any idea what is causing it?

I am running VMware Workstation 5.5 for Windows XP.
I have a Windows 2000 VM established, with SP4 applied.
The VM is running IE 5. I have no other browsers installed. I am not able to install XE anywhere else at present, due to resource limitations.
Just wondering if anyone else has had this issue. Next week I will install onto a "real" Windows 2000 environment, but would like to get this one working sooner than that.

HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Office\15.0\Outlook\Options\Calendar
where 15.0 stands for Outlook
2013.
Make changes in
the Outlook settings and see which registry values change and in what way depending
on the settings you change.

Free Busy takes over 30 seconds to retrieve on Outlook 2010 using Exchange Server 2010

We have a small 100 user domain running Exchange server 2010 and outlook 2010 clients. The issue is that Retrieving Free/Busy takes over 30 seconds.
So someone is trying to schedule a meeting has to wait Minutes see the Free/busy time for many users.. I have checked and all the users in question have published at least one month free busy time.
It seems it would be much faster. Anyone have this same experience and know of a way to speed it up?

Does the issue happen in OWA? In Exchange 2010, the free/busy information is retreved by using Availability service (EWS url). Generally, if a user wants to view free/busy information when create a meeting, the http Availability service request
would send to CAS server.
Please check whether the usage in Exchange server is high when the slow free/busy information occurs. This reflect time would also be related to the network in your environment.

Outlook 2010 Scheduling Assistent - No free busy information can be received.

Folks:
I have recently upgraded to Outlook 2010 running on Windows 7 x64. My email is exchange based. My machine is not a member of the domain my exchange server is in.
I access it my a stored credential.
Everything is fine except for Scheduling assistant. All the folks invited to a meeting (except for myself) show up as "No Information Available".
I have found plenty of posts that suggest this is also a Outlook 2007 issue, and that creating a key HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\12.0\Outlook\Options\Calendar\UseLegacyFB
(value 1) solves the issue. (Example:http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/exchangesvrgeneral/thread/c765605d-27a7-4784-993c-925394e2e09f) I did create the key on my Outlook 2010 machine - but in HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\14.0\Outlook\Options\Calendar
key. It is not resolving my issue.
Does anyone know the Outlook 2010 solution to this issue? Note: I have Administrative privilege on my Client - but no privilege on the server. I need to get
Outlook 2010 to interface with Exchange 2007.

From your description, I understand that you are using Outlook 2010 and Exchange account.
There is no free busy information when using scheduling assistant. If there is any misunderstanding, please feel free to let me know.
First, you must be using an Exchange server and everyone must publish their free/busy information.
Check from File > Options > Calendar Options > Free/Busy Options.
Make sure the month value for publishing is not zero.
