Acrobat X Pro Typewriter Issue

Hello!
We have a problem with the typewriter of Adobe Acrobat X Pro.
After we leave the textfield, when we wrote a text and made breaks with the typewriter, then the breaks disappear / the paragraphs move together.
It's like auto formattig.
Is this normal on Acrobat X Pro?
There was not such a problem in Acrobat 8 Pro.
It's really hindrance our workflow.
We can not demand, that our users write a text with formatting in MS Word, copy it and paste it in a textfield of Acrobat. And if you have to edit something, you need to copy the content of the textfield and add it in Word to edit it there.
And there is an interesting fact.
If you write a text with the typewriter, then you can make only 1 break when you press shift+enter.
Yes, leave the textfield when you made one shift-break (to make a free paragraph) and it works. Make two or more after sentences, then they move together.
Is this now a "feature" of the new Acrobat-Version? When yes, then I believe we have to change the software. There is no logic in this programming!
If there is a good way to make breaks in a typewriter textfield, then please tell me!
We are very thankfull for any idea!
Greeting from Germany

I am having the same problem.
I followed the link and download the Flash Player and Adobe AIR Installer from Adobe website. I still could not create the portfolio.  The same error message kept coming up.

Using Acrobat 9 Pro Typewriter. I select Arial Narrow from the pull-down menu but it still types Courier. I've tried selecting the text, deleting the insertion and starting again, to no avail. Can the typewriter be formatted to a different font?

Type your comment. Then select the text and change the font. Now open the comments panel, find your typewriter comment, right mouse click to bring up the "Properties" window, select "Make properties default", and click the 'OK" button.

  • Acrobat 9 Pro: Licensing issue prevents Acrobat from opening. What's the fix?

OK - or i should say not OK!!
I am running the licensed version of Acrobat 9 Pro on Mac OSX. It is installed on 2 of my MacBook Pro 17" laptops. These machines are respectively 1 month and 14 months old, and both are completely up-to-date software wise. 3 weeks ago Acrobat presented the error message "Licensing for this product has stopped working" and then quits. Searching through the error logs reveals the following: No matching processes were found. Shutting down licensing service ...
I have meticulously, several times worked through all the recommended steps on the Adobe site to address this issue but to no avail. Booting up in safe mode makes no difference. In desperation I re-installed the OS, but to no avail. My several and extended communications with Adobe online help have left me chatting with what sounded like a couple of uni students from India who had insufficient understanding of English, Macs and Acrobat. After 3 weeks my case has been closed twice by Adobe who report that they believe my issue is resolved and have therefore closed my case. Great!!! What's more, occasionally Safari is presented online with a pdf file which it attempts to load, and then crashes.
This issue has seriously affected my ability to work with and create pdf's which in my work as a medical researcher is essential. To add insult to injury, I have wasted too many precious hours attempting to rectify the situation.
The bottom line is caveat emptor (buyer beware). Adobe it seems are committed to making a sale but not to follow-up, service or genuine concern for their customers. When some company produces a less buggy (and cheaper) alternative I will be definitely be buying their wares.
In the interim, if anybody out there can advise me as to how to get Acrobat working again, I would be most grateful.
    Have a great day.
    David

When you reinstalled Acrobat, did you use the uninstaller? Also the uninstaller still leaves some files not removed.
If your using OSX.4.11 go to Find file and type in Acrobat, find any files (not .pdf's) that are in the Library > Application support and Preferences.  Remove all traces of any of these files. Look both in Main Library, and in Library in your User Folder (has name you gave computer when you installed system).
It appears your have a corrupt file.
Many problems can be traced down to corrupt file(s) in Application Support or Preferences. Preference file will regenerate though any customizations you did will be lost.
Have you installed more than the two Copies allowed (by accident)?
Also, if you have tied to a a common Server/Network and both have computers running at same time, might have caused this. (unless you bought at site license if Adobe sells such).

  • Acrobat 9 Pro Extended issues

    7-29-08
    Hello,
I work in an engineering enviromment doing visualization and
animation. I have been an advocate for Acrobat 3D as a better way
to communicate with our customers. We have a large contingent of
Autodesk Mechanical Desktop and Inventor users. I want to add
advanced features to the presentations we make to our customers. So
far it looks like Acrobat 9 Pro Extended does not play nice with
the Inventor 2009 series, neither the Desktop or Inventor. The main
issue is that the section tool creates nice outlines where the
solids are cut that describe the shape made by the cutting plane
but the solid surfaces the plane would make are missing. It looks
like the surface normal that should be there is flipped.
I have looked at the various presentation methods in this new
relase of Acrobat and they are a big step up but I want to be able
to open a PDF to a text document with animations embedded in it and
possibly narrations. I want a tavble of contents that has page
links to illustrations and paragraphs, and 3D files that my
customers can interact with. I see nothing in the training that
    addresses this. Can you help?
Autodesk has it's own design collaboration package that
produces rotatable 3D files. It is called DWF Writer and the output
is more realistic than what Acrobat produces. For my needs should I
abandon Acrobat 3D functions and instead attach 3D DWF's?
    Thanks,
    Randy Van Nostrand

  • Adobe acrobat X pro printing issues

I purchased Adobe Acrobat X pro and it was installed on Windows 7/64 bits PC.
I have issues with printing into PDF file for web page. It seems that if I click "convert to PDF" icon on Explorer, it does not have problem converting a web page into PDF. However, if I right mouse click on "print" on a web site, I get a "postscript error" message on Notepad" instead of generating PDF file. With a different web site, it did create a PDF file, but some characters were totally garbage, totally illegible. But it did create a PDF with no problem at all for a certain web page. I had a similar problem with a previous version of Acrobat Pro, but this time it is more extreme.
Am I not supposed to use right mouse click on "print" in order to generate PDF files at all? Do I have to use "Create PDF-from a web page" menu to successfully generate PDF files, but not on "print" using right mouse? Or is this problem occuring specific to Windows 7/64 bits PC? But Acrobat X pro is supposed to work with 64 bits.
I do not seem to have any problems converting files, such as Word, Excel, or JPEG into PDF files so far....
    Any suggestion is grealy appreciated.
    Henry

We are unable to reproduce the issue at my end. We are able to print fine using both PS and PCL printers. Could you please let me know the exact make of the printer at your end? Also, let me know whether you are using a  PS driver or a PCL driver.
    Thanks,

  • Adobe Acrobat X Pro Extracting Issue

When the download manager was trying to extract the Adobe Acrobat X Pro files to my computer folder, the following message suddenly popped out:
A problem occured while extracting some files. Check available space on your computer and the write priveleges on the destination folder.
I restarted my computer just in case and tried to download the software again yet when it reached on the extracting part, the message again popped out. I have also checked my available space from my C drive and I still have enough, 1.27 TB to be exact.
I am the only user and the admin of this computer where I'm trying to download the software so it would be unlikely that I am restricted to the destination folder. Also, I have downloaded other softwares to the same destination folder and it went successful. It is just with the Adobe Acrobat X Pro dowload where I'm having this issue.
I would greatly appreciate for your prompt response with this matter. Thank you.

is your harddrive 1tb or larger?  if so, you'll need to partition that drive to use acrobat x on it.
    otherwise:
    uninstall acrobat X
    run the cleaner, http://labs.adobe.com/downloads/acrobatcleaner.html
    restart your computer
if you're using windows, right click the installation file and click "run as administrator"

  • Acrobat 10 Pro scanning issues

I just upgraded to Acrobat 10 Pro running snow leopard and Using HP officejet Pro 8500 for scanner. When I try to create a PDF from scanner through Acrobat I get three Choices. SANE, HP Scan, and Vuescan TWAIN.  If I select HP Scan or Vuescan it opens up those respective programs. If SANE is selected the following appears after a few moments.
After you click ok the following appears.
I previously installed(before the upgrade to Acrobat 10 from 8.0) the SANE driver but am wondering if I did something wrong. Not sure what I need to do to get Acrobat talking directly to the scanner. I have the latest drivers for the printer.
My goal is to be able to scan a document (create a PDF ) directly with Acrobat instead of sending the the scan through the other programs and then ulimately to acrobat where the document will be managed.
I had this set up this way when I had Acrobat 8.0 and before I upgraded to Snow Leopard which I am regretting right now as this is very frustrating after years of it working fine now I find myself dead in the water after an "upgrade" to the OS.  Can someone please help me get this thing working smoothly again.
From What I have read it might have something to do with TWAIN drivers but frankly I need step by step help to get me back up and running.

    Hi
You wrote "When I try to create a PDF from scanner through Acrobat I get three Choices. SANE, HP Scan, and Vuescan TWAIN.  If I select HP Scan or Vuescan it opens up those respective programs"  but did not disclose what happens after that. So, please tell if you are able to complete your scanning without any issues after HP Scanning software launches its dialog.
You also mentioned that you want Acrobat to directly scan from scanner without going through any other software. In this regard, I would like to tell you that, on Mac, Acrobat cannot handle scanning in Headless mode i.e without showing the scanner dialog. Although this works on Windows. Still, I would say it should be better than going through SANE. So, please let me know if you are able to scan directly with HP's genuine software.

  • Acrobat 9 Pro - Kerning Issue

I just loaded Acrobat 9 Pro on several machines with an XP operating system.
If you use the Text Edit function it will create numerous spaces between letters (Kerning) throught the document.
The changes appear to be random and makes the document unusable.
I asked Adobe for help - but, they thought they were Toyota (Couldn't fix anything.).
    Serious HELP is needed!

Found these posts when searching for solution to similar problem.
We have experienced similar issues with Acrobat 9 Pro when assembling PDF files from various sources.  The main document was prduced from Word 2007 and all appears fine to start with, but after inserting pages from various other sources the kerning issue rears its ugly head.
We have had some success in overcoming it using the Optimise facility but it is not always consistent, and I have a document now that refuses to revert to the correct kerning.

  • Acrobat 7 pro installation issues in windows 7

I am trying to install acrobat 7 pro on a windows 7 machine. I followed the directions from chat to download updated program and new serial number because of activation issues. All went well until setup said I didn't have access to files in programfiles (86) such as AcroPDF.FRA. No such file. Setup shuts down and I'm back at square one. HELP!!!

I was able to install it on Win 7, even the 64-bit version. But neither AcroTray or the Adobe PDF print driver for AA 7 works on Win 7. That means you have to use workarounds to get things done if you succeed in installing. it is time for you to probably buy a new copy.

  • Adobe Acrobat X Pro memory issues

I work for a company that scans micro film cards into the computer. Each micro film card usually has about 4 to 5 pages on each card. The scanner we use scans those 5 pages into one pdf page. We just bought adobe acrobat x pro to help us split these images into separate pages. First we highlight the first part of the image, copy to clipboard, then under more insert options we insert from clipboard. This works as intended, but we run into a snag, 1st adobe starts eating up a lot of memory, and it gets slower and slower when you cut and insert pages. Usually after you have closed about 6 separate documents adobe bogs down to the point where it stops responding and has to shut down. I have searched on the web for the past 3 days trying to find out how to resolve this. I have done everything from removing add-ons, setting adobe as admin, running it in xp mode, setting affinity, setting priority, downgrading to a fresh install with no patch. I am at my wits end, any help would be appreciative.

Great... so there is no update to get over this pixelated text/art issue for Acrobat Pro X (10.1.13) due to the retina display???
I am a graphic designer so I know what I am viewing is hires. All my art & copy is pixelated and when I open in the newest reader the art is fine. Is there a more efficient workaround besides open in reader but use pro for any edits?

  • Acrobat XI Pro Uninstall Issues.

I am unable to uninstall Adobe Acrobat XI Pro from my Windows 7 computer. I have tried to uninstall it via the control panel a number of times. I have also used the Adobe Cleaner with no luck. Is there a way to uninstall it so that I can re-install it with my Creative Cloud subscription?

Thank you for your quick response. I have no access to  Acrobat XI Pro or any other form of Acrobat so I am unable to access the Help>Deactivate choice. Due to some computer issues I removed my total creative cloud with the idea that I would be able to install it again and get things back to normal. I was able to get my Creative cloud back but since I did not remove Acrobat correctly I have not been able to deactivate or delete it. I even tried the Adobe Cleaner. Acrobat XI Pro still shows in my Control Panel but I am unable to get rid of it so that I can re-install it so that it will work correctly.
Thank you for any assistance that you can give me.

I have used Acrobat 8 Pro for many years with no problems. Yesterday, when I went to print a document, it auto scrolled down to Microsoft XPS document writer. I could not select my installed Brothers Printer.
