ActiveX control Problem with Froms 6.0.8.11.3

Hi,
I am using Oracle Forms 6.0.8.11.3 version on windows XP.
I am inserting the activex object in the layout and when runing the form the object is not shown.
After that when i am checking in the design (FMB) file the object is not shown and asking me to reinsert the object.
Can any body guide me on this? Is there any bugs are there related to this ?

Yup - Sounds like 593051 which is to do with the licence information used by the ActiveX not being correctly stored with the control. This is fixed in 6.0.8.15.1

Acrobat X ActiveX Control problem

Hello,
we embed Acrobat Reader X in our application to view PDF Files. We use the Acrobat Reader Active X Control for that. Recently we started to get report about problems with the plugin and do not know what to search for. It seems that when used as ActiceX Control, Acrobat Reader is not loading the document correctly which makes find operations or signature checks hang forever. Also no thumbnails are created in Thumbnails View (just an empty white page). Opening the same file in reader directly works OK with no issues. Any ideas what to look for? The same code works perfectly with older versions of Acrobat ActiveX Control.
Here some screenshots from a sample application we created to test the issue:
1) No Thumbnails - only white pages
2) No signature - although the document is signed
3) When pressing 'Verify All' on the signatures panel - the following message appears (it basically states: "for this operation, the whole document needs to be downloaded") - but the document is local and has been loaded. Pressing OK makes it hang forever.
A similar problem happens when using CTRL+F - i can enter a search, but then it hangs forever saying that page 1 of x is searched. Probably the same issues that the Active X controls thinks it needs to download something.
Here the code we use to create the control and load the file:

Internet Explorer ActiveX control problems

I want to use the IE4 ActiveX control to launch some web apps from a Forte
app.
The error I'm getting is:
USER ERROR: The ActiveX Control Class supplied by the application is named
'InternetExplorer' and has a CLASSID of
'{0002DF01-0000-0000-C000-000000000046}'. This does not match the OLE
object
embedded within the OLEField which is named 'Shell.Explorer.2' and has a
CLASSID of '{8856F961-340A-11D0-A96B-00C04FD705A2}'.
These are the steps I took to get the ActiveX control into the app.
1. olegen -it shdocvw.dll -of shdocvw.pex
2. Imported shdocvw.pex.
3. Fixed comile errors - had to delete some attributes and comment out
references to those attributes to get it to compile.
4. In Window Manager - added a new ActiveX field.

Acrobat Reader 9.1 ActiveX control problems

We have an application written in VB.NET 2005 which displays a PDF file using embedded ActiveX control from Acrobat Reader (using AcroPDF.dll).
The code to open the file is very simple:
Me.AxAcroPDF1.LoadFile(_path)
The application was compiled on the machine that had Acrobat Reader 8 installed and distributed. The users also had Acrobat 8 installed.
Some of the users upgraded to Acrobat 9.1. I understand that it shouldn't really matter as the ActiveX control from 9.1 should be backward compatible.
Yet some users cannot open the file and receive the following error message:
"Error HRESULT E_FAIL has been returned from a call to a COM component"
Some other users can open the file but have the following message when closing the application (which calls Me.AxAcroPDF1.Dispose() ):
"The instruction at "0x0700609c" referenced memory at "0x00000014". The memory could not be "read"."
What can cause those problems? How can I fix them?

OK, no one responsed to my questions but I found answers for them so I thought I might put them here for those interested.
As for "HRESULT E_FAIL" message, all that was wrong was the "Display PDF in browser" option in Adobe Reader preferences. It needs to be ticked. A bit weird but considering that it uses the same OCX in a web browser, it makes some sense.
As for the memory issues message, I need to unload libraries manually before exiting the application (as suggested in some other thread in this forum):

User Account Control Problems with Premier Elements 7 32 bit in 64 Bit Windows 7

I found User Account Control Problems in other forums but didn't see much in Premiere Elements, so I hope this helps others who may be having problems with 32 bit programs in a 64 bit computor. When I first got my 64 bit I didn't have problems.
Back in February I bought a Quad Core Desktop with Windows 7 64 bit. Haven't been on the forum for 7 months since I wrote in regarding importing video with the Pyro AV Link (Premiere Elements Tips and Tricks). I was having problems importing video which started after March 28 sometime, as that was the last time I didn't have a problem importing VHS. Took me a few months off and on to find out what worked.
I started uninstalling Windows updates and any programs I had installed back to that point in time. Checked after uninstalling each item. The capture screen would come up on a delayed basis but clicking on capture did nothing. Although no driver is required for IE1394 (so they say) I read where some people using the Legacy driver had fixed some problems, so I switched to the Legacy. Seemed to work great (for a few minutes).
I had even uninstalled and reinstalled PE7 but no difference. Finally I noticed a shield in the PE7 Desktop icon. Thats weird. Never had that before. Just decided to show up after I had done all of the stuff I mentioned. Turns out at some point in time since I've had the computor Windows 7 decided to flag my 32 bit program as misusing the 64 bit system. User Account Control. I never bothered too much with UAC and just clicked on the yes box wen it popped up asking if I wanted this or that to take control of my computor. I tried using the minimum setting for safety reasons, and then finally turned User Account Control off. Bingo! PE7 capture works again and still working.
While I am not recommending that people arbitrarily turn UAC off, this appeared to be my problem. I would recommed that they try turning it off before uninstallin a bunch of stuff. Having a restore point may or may not have been a fix for me. I think one of the Windows Updates caused the problem but I am not going to uninstall any more stuff at this point, I have not been back on the internet or installed any more updates in my desktop. I am going to use my laptop for internet and used the desktop for video.
I am guessing this could be a problem for any 64 bit systems trying to use 32 bit programs. IE: XP,Vista,Windows 7 64 bit. In Vista there is also Data Execution Prevention (DEP) which you can turn on or off, supposedly to prevent misuse of memory (as I understand it), but Win7 either doesn't have it or I haven't found where it's located.
Maybe this has been covered in the forum somewhere and I missed reading it. Hope I am not too confusing. Anyway, whatever feedback you guys have would be great.

    Thanks for your answer, and I did check out the link you suggested. However, I have Windows 7 Home Premium as most people have I think, and the XP program was not available. I started with Vista and now have Win 7. I never could navigate around in XP anyway so am content to just leave User Account Control off.
    Interesting side note to turning UAC off is that my desktop seemed to be using more of the CPUs, where half of them were "Parked" as I wrote in also about 7 months ago when I 1st got my desktop. I am pleased to say that video processing seems to go quicker with UAC off. Have to observe things some more to confirm.
    I just thought if others were having problems after installing Windows Updates and leaving UAC off worked then they could possibly pinpoint a problem.

Sync. problem with from iPad2 to iTunes???

I've a problem with sync from iPad2 to itunes. I got the latest version of iTunes 10.5.2 and my iPad 2 is the version of ios 5.1. However, when I activate the sync. iTunes cannot process the sync. and it's locked. Is there anyone has the same problem?

ActiveX Control Problem

When I Generate Primary Layout and View Results I get my
project in a browser (IE7) and a message telling me that IE has
restricted the webpage from running scripts or ActiveX controls. I
have to Allow Blocked Content to see my finished product properly.
I am using the BeautifulVistas-WH-Generic skin, but I don't
see that until I Allow Blocked Content. Prior to that, I see a more
generic looking skin. All add-ins are enabled, and my security
settings are set to low. How can I avoid this?

Sounds like you are viewing webhelp locally without Mark of
the Web inserted. That will not happen to the end users as they
will view the help from a server.
You can either add MOTW or set IE to allow the blocked
content if you want to view it locally.

Game controll problem with keyAdapter

I have build an game in which i want to move the player sprite with the W,A,S,D keys(use them as arrows as in maby games). It works fine, but for example: when i walk up(w) en press then (a) to walk diagonal across the screen the sprite hangs for an moment. before it actualy does go diagonal across the screen. How can i get this movement without any hanging?

Anyway, execute the code within the keyPressed code, it's much easier. Believe me, I know. And the code won't repeat itself if you don't have the keyRelease code. And I have the same problem with the sprite hanging, it's just the way the code executes. I tried to find a way around it, but with no luck. I hope my revision of your code helps some.

Controlling- Problem with Assigned

I have the following problem:
I implemet the budget control through customizing.
I start to creat internal orders and i settlement the original budget.
Then i continued working as normal creating PO, invoices etc, all against the internal order.
When i go to KO22 to see the original budget and the assigned, in some orders, the assigned is upper than the budget (its wrong becuase i implement the Bugdget controlling for internal orders). And in some cases the commitments plas the actual postings is upper than the assigned (its is wrog becuase the assigned is form by the commitments and actual postings).
I dont know why it happend.
Please if someone have a similar problem or know about this issue, please help me.

Commitments and actual postings can exceed budget if tolearnce limt for 100% of usage is set up at warning / information i.e. it will allow to post additional costs /create PO against the order with information / warning message to the user.
Check the tolearnce limit in customizing and it should be level '3' (error message) against 100% usage.
Assigned value should be equal to actual & commitments. You can 'Set up Availability Control again' (KO31) to reconstruct the database for the orders with error.

Volume control problem with 30GB iPod 3G, Universal Dock, and Apple Remote

I just hooked up my 30GB iPod 3G to the Universal Doc and tried the my new Apple remote. The only buttons on the remote that work in controlling my iPod while on the dock are the play/pause and the skip forward and back buttons.
For some reason the volume up and down buttons don't adjust the volume on my iPod while it's on the dock. Any ideas? Shouldn't the volume up and down work? Or do they only work on the newer iPods?
Any info appreciated.

Thanks for your response. No the iPod doesn't respond at all--the volume display doesn't come up or change.
When I press the play/pause or either skip forward or back on the remote, the iPod, while on the dock, lights up and responds to the command as it should. But when I press volume up or down on the remote the iPod does not respond at all.
According to Apple's store info on the remote, the volume up/down controls should work. I am wondering if maybe it doesn't work with the 3Gs for some reason. But if that is the case, Apple should indicate that. It is kind of frustrating to not be able to adjust the volume.

Microsoft Word Templates and ActiveX Control Problems

Hi,
I am experiencing a strange problem in Microsoft Word. I am writing a VBA application which displays a cwgraph in a form. If I add the graph to a form in the Normal.dot template the control is fine. If I add the graph to a form in a new template (where all my code is) the graph displays evaluation copy. The graph in the Normal.dot template is fine and displays without the licensing information and in the properties it displays the correct licence code etc.
Has anyone experienced this before and got any suggestions.

Thanks for the reply. I have already run the license fixer utility and it does not locate any broken licenses. I have also uninstalled everything and deleted cwui.ocx in System32, then reinstalled and tried again. The strange thing is that it works in Visual Basic standalone, in the normal.dot template in Word. It just doesn't work in a different template file.

SSC web control problem with Crossover

Hey i've installed Crossover to work with a control...and this one sscwebcontrol will not work. any advice? is there a program that I can download through crossover to get it working?

You should probably contact Crossover support. If the app is not supported by Crossover then you'll probably need to install Windows on your Mac via Boot Camp or Parallels.

RS Control problem with decklink multibridge

I wish to control a HDCAM VTR true 9-pin RS. I've got a Blackmagic Multibridge Extreme and FCP. I could control the vtr in BM decklink control but I don't see any time code... Need help....

1)make sure the deck settings match what you shot. the frame rate indicator should show what the deck is set at. while you're in playback if the data on tape doesn't match the deck the frame rate indicator will flash. set the deck to match the tape format.
2)while the deck is playing make sure the counter is set to TC and see if you're getting numbers there. if you are getting good numbers in the tc window and the frame rate isn't flashing check your decklink and or FCP settings.

I need a little help help with the Spreadsheet 9 ActiveX control

Here's the situation: I want to import data from an Excel file to the MS Office Spreadsheet 9.0 ActiveX control on the LV front page. I can retrieve the data just fine but I can't get it to display in the control on the front page. I can select a range and when I try to write to the Value property I find that I cannot. The problem seems to be the Value property itself cannot handle 2-D data arrays. I can select a 2D range and write a single value which gets written to every cell in the range but when I read the data I get only the first cell in the range and an error if I try to caste the Variant output to a 2D array.
I've noticed a Value2 property for the range when actually working with Excel but I haven't been able to determine where or if it exists for the Spreadsheet 9 control. I've attached a little test program to better show what I'm experiencing/talking about. Anyone have any suggestions on this? It seems like it would be possible or else why have the control there but I haven't found a way around it. Thanks in advance.

Most of the computers have Office 2000 which uses the Value property and the Spreadsheet 9.0 control. I too have been able to duplicate it ona computer with Office 2000 (Spreadsheet 11.0). I think it may just be a functionality of the Excel version though for some reason if I use Excel and go through the song and dance with the methods and properties, I get to the Value2 property.
After writing that it seems weird that using Excel properties and methods gets me to the point where I can select the Value2 method and read/write accordigly, but with the Spreadsheet 9.0 control (which, I assume is simply embedding Excel in the app) I get to a different set of properties. Perhps Spreadsheet 10 (or 11) is on the computer but not showing up? That's the only sensible conclusion I can come to, though it seems weird for it to not show up on multiple computers which effectively kills that idea anyway.

problem, but for distribution purpose I have to install those ActiveX
controls manually.
So I tried to do it on a separate computer by registering the ActiveX
controls with regsvr32 [regsvr32 ]. But the attempt to
start a LabView program where these controls were embedded ended with
the error message "error opening document" (ole_lv5container) and "error
510 occurred while loading ActiveX control ..."
I'm working with Windows NT 4.0 and LabView 5.0f2.
Does anyone know, what I made wrong?
