Adding a 2nd device to the Solution Center software

I have and Officejet 6500 with the Solution Center software.  How can I add another HP printer to the software?  At one time they both showed up, but I had problems with the driver and when I reloaded it, the second printer was gone and hasn't come back.

Hi,
Since this printer uses a different software it cannot be added to solution center.
Although I am an HP employee, I am speaking for myself and not for HP.

  • I have A PhotoSmart C 6180. I can't get the Solution Center software

Where can I find something that will download on 64bit Vista for thePhotoSmart C6180?  My harddrive was replaced and my backup did not include the printer drivers.  I have loaded everything and it prints fine, but I can not scan as the Solution Center is missing.  It says that if the printer is prior to 2011 that the center is not available and the disc won't load on 64bit.
Is there a patch or something that can make this work

    Hi,
if you use the pritner through a USB connection, open the Control Panel and select Printers, right click any instance of the printer and Delete it.
Next unplug the USB and reboot your PC prior installing the printer. (For network connection simply skip to the next step).
Next download and install the following software by following the steps on screen, that will add full functionality as the HP Solution Center software:

  • How to add Scanjet G4050 to the Solution Center

    Dear Forum,
Recovering from the 'Device XYZ lost connection to the Solution Center' (see other thread), I have one point unresolved: Getting the Scanjet G4050 back as a device in the Solution Center, where it has been working properly next to my Photosmart C410b. Some information:
    - Previously, The Photosmart C410b and the Scanjet G4050 were both present and working properly in the Solution Center
    - Windows 7 Ultimate
    - Photosmart C410B working properly in the solution center, used install software V14.3
    - PC connected wired to network
    - Photosmart C410b connected wired
    - Scanjet G4050 connected via USB (obviously)
    - HPPSDr reports an error when performing the 'HP Twain scan' test on the G4050:  "A required software component was not found or improperly installed. Reinstall the HP Photosmart software that came with the device, and try scanning again / 4,[(2, 0, 80040154},{3, 56, 0}]" (needless to say I tried this several times...)
    - Front panel button from Scanjet triggers an error as well:  "The HP imaging device was not found. Try the following step, try bla bla bla' / 8,[{1, 0, -2147221164}]
    - Also tried the use V13 of the G4050 software, but no success either.
    - Device Manager mentions the "HP Scanjet G4050" properly installed, driver date 5/24/2012, Driver version: 14.0.0.0
Questions: which modules shall be installed, which version and how can I verify that?
    Any suggestions?
    W.

Still searching for a solution in the various blogs but no luck.
    Additional info:
    - in my previous post, I mentioned a version v13, this is probably more likely V3 as the filename is 'setup_full_G4000_3.exe' (I seem to have downloaded this file in Sept 2012 and used it for my initial install when setting up this PC, where it worked OK). I apologies or any confusion.
    - Scanning with the G4050 from MS Paints works OK
    - with the V3 installation, I do NOT install ‘OCR Software by I.R.I.S’, ‘HP Update’ nor ‘HP Photosmart Essential 3.5’, Can I do without them?
    - if I use V14.5 full featured installation, I do not see an option to select the Solution Center to be installed
    - if I use V3, I do see an option to select the Solution Center to be installed
    - in one post a HP employee mentioned that the more recent Win7-64 installer for the G4050 did NOT have solution center anymore. Is this correct? Should I therefore use V3?
    - If I install the V3 version, it fails at installing the device driver. If I follow the suggestion offered, I install the basic feature driver V14.5 and can continue the V3 full feature installation without errors, however, no G4050 appears in the solution center
    - many post hint about some component incorrectly installed or missing. Can someone advice me what to clean/remove/uninstall? I have used CCleaner to remove a lot of useless stuff.
-Others suggest Microsoft install clean up: any suggestion on how to use in this case?
    - neither of the installer V3 or V14.5 offer the 'uninstall_l1/2/3/4' batch files

  • Why does the solution center prompt for cd every time?

My HP 8500 constantl;y prompts for me to insert the CD each time I try to scan. I have lost the CD, and just paid $10 to get a new one, but it is very annoying! How do I stop this?

    Hi Tom,
There is something missing in your Scanning software.
The Solution Center is like a dog with a bone about missing stuff.
    Something to try/consider:
See the Solution on this Post - it has the information that might help you correct your Solution Center woes.
    http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Printer-All-in-One-Install-Setup/cannot-open-solution-center/m-p/110924...
If, for some reason, you cannot download new software for your printer as outlined in the above Post,
and you really do not want to wait for your new CD, then you can Uninstall the Solution Center Software from your computer.  See the warning below.
    Uninstalling your Solution Center:
BE AWARE: If you elect to uninstall Solution Center to make it stop annoying you...Your printer might still work after you reboot and let the computer try and install some standard drivers - HOWEVER, it will only work with whatever "bare bones" drivers are available on your system.  It might not work at all.  It depends on your Operating system, whether there are enough HP standard drivers for your printer to run the basic printer HP8500 functions, and whether things get tangled up when you uninstall the printer software.  It could go well, or it could become a nightmare and you could be more unhappy than you are right now.
The very best scenerio:  You find at the Solution Center link a way to download the Full Featured Software for your HP8500 printer and it fixes your scanning error.
    I hope this helps.

  • Since i was updated with the solution center, i cannot print envelopes

My printer is a HP officejet 4215 operating system is windows vista 64-bit, after installing the solution center I can not print  envelopes or greeting cards because the printer prints in different ways and locations

You are correct.  Syncing should transfer any purchased media, including videos, from your device to your iTunes library provided your computer is authorized for the Apple ID used to make these purchases.  You mentioned that you have uninstalled iTunes before, but if you didn't follow this guide exactly, uninstalling iTunes and all of its components in the order specified, it may not have been successful so you should try again:  Windows XP or Windows Vista/7.

  • How do I get a "transfer images" button to show up in the solution center?

How do I get a "transfer images" button to show up in the solution center for my officejet 6500 709a on XP?
Scan buttons are displayed and work, as does print.

What installing the twain plug-in, you mean? Go to your applications folder. Find the Adobe Photoshop Elements 11 folder. Look in there for a folder called support files, then for a folder called optional plugins. In the Optional Plugins folder, there should be a folder called ImportModules. Just drag that from the Optional Plugins folder to the regular Plugins folder.
This will be infinitely easier to do if you put your applications folder window into list view, not the default icon view. To do that, click this button at the top of the window:

  • HP Solution Center Software

Hello.   First time  post here and have a question.
I have an HP Photosmart 7280.   I have been  using this printer for 5 or 6 years.   Have always been happy with it.
I just  had to upgrade my desk top computer because of some problems.  This upgrade included new hard drive and mother board, consequently also requiring a download of printer software.  My upgraded computer is usisng Windows 7.  I already have a laptop windows 7 with the HP Solution Center software.
My problem is t hat the new download of the HP software has a major change.  No longer is automatic 2 sided printing supported.   All that is supported is manual, left booklet and right booklet.  This is not good.  In fact it is not acceptable.
Does anyone know how to get the version of HP Solution Cent er Software  that has two sided printed supported.   I know this is a recent change because my laptop had this version of the software.
    George

    Hi George,
Duplex pritning is supported, however disabled by default:
Enter Control Panel > Devices and Printers.
Right click the printer icon, then click Printer Properties.
    Click the Device Settings tab.
Set the Automatic Two-Sided Duplex Accessory as installed and click OK to save the change.
Now Automatic Duplexing should become available again.

  • Need HP solution center software for hp psc 2110 running windows 7 32 bit

    Hi,
The HP Solution Center Software has disappeared since I upgrade my HP laptop OS from Vista to Windows 7 32 bit.  I use the HP Solution Center Software for years to create .pdf documents from the scanned documents of my HP PSC 2110 All-in-One printer.
Can you provide the link to download the HP Solution Center Software for Win 7? I searched the HP support website using the product name HP PSC 2110, it pointed me to the driver section; I followed the instructions however there is no link to download the the software.
The printer is connected via USB and works well.  It is just annoying I cannot use the HP Solution Center Software (previously HP Director) to copy scanned documents to my computer.
    Thanks.

    You are welcome.
You may download it from the following link:
    http://sourceforge.net/projects/naps2/files/3.0b1/naps2-3.0b1-setup.exe/download
That means that as an older model its functionality is limited but there are some workarouds available. it surely worth trying.
For a Wirelss printer you will need a different printer indded, there are many factors to consider and recommend you any specific printer, do you have any specific needs? for example would you use a fax or not, I assume it should be a color printer with a scanner... do you use to print photos or use it more often for a daily printing and scanning capabilities, those factors may highly affect any possible recommendation so further clarification will be helpful.
Regardless, any current HP device with a scanner fully support scanning PDF scanning within the HP Software.

  • Solution Center software

Solutions center used to allow me access to both my hardwired photosmart C5250 and my network 6700. Now it only shows my hardwired printer and not the network printer. All printing functions work for both printers. I just want to be able to view both printers from the solutions main screen. I do not see a Solutopns center specific option form the installation CD - only install a new printer or change wireless setting, neither of which would apply.

    Hi ltinsley12,
I must admit I am a bit puzzled, I understand your Solution Center used to allow you to access both your hardwired Photosmart C5250 and your network 6700. I do not understand how. The Officejet 6700 has version 28.8 software, thus it does not have nor work with Solution Center, instead the 6700 has an application called Printer Assistant.
The Photosmart C5250 uses version 13.1.0 software and will continue to use the Solution Center.
If I have misunderstood your inquiry, please elaborate and I will gladly do what I can to help.
You can use the HP Print and Scan Doctor for both printers to ensure everything is setup and running properly. Hi,
The HP Solution Center is not a part of the software for the HP Officejet 6600, it is a part of your previous HP printer's software.
From the windows 8 screen type HP and open the HP Officejet 6600 software, the HP Printer Assistant which is the software for your current printer will launch.

  • Q190 and Lenovo Solution Center Software

Is the latest available Solution Center Software compatible with--or intended to be used on--the Q190 "entertainment" PC?  My version says I need a driver update, bu they are all current.
The only download source I can find within Lenovo does not list the Q series computers as compatible--yet an earlier verson of SC came preloaded on the machine.
    Thanks for any available insight.

    Hi Z34jcm,
    Welcome to Lenovo Community Forums!
I’m sorry to inform you that the LSC (Lenovo Solution Center) is not available for Q190 Desktop. Below is the link to download the compatible version of LSC, while installing the driver right click on the downloaded file and select “Run as administrator” option to get it installed without any error:
    Lenovo Solution Center for Windows 8.1 (64-bit), 8 (64-bit), 7 (64-bit) - Desktops, Notebooks, WorkS...

  • I want to buy a 2nd iPad for my wife. we both have kindles and I have the kindle app for my iPad.  are there any issues or concerns in adding a 2nd iPad to the iTunes account

I want to buy a 2nd iPad for my wife.  we both have kindles and i have the kindle app for my iPad. are there any issues or concerns in adding a 2nd iPad with kindle app?

You can sync as many iDevices as you own to a single iTunes library if you want to do so. If you manage the content manually, you can pick and choose the apps, music, videos and so on that you want on each device. One iTunes account means using the same Apple ID to purchase and update all of your apps. You can share apps on both devices because once you buy an app, you can download it to all of your iDevices - as many times as you want - using the same Apple ID and iTunes account. If you decide to do this, you have to sync to the same computer each time in order to keep all of your shared apps in the one iTunes library.
The Kindle App content is not synced to the iTunes library. It is controlled by your Kindle account. I believe that you can go into your Kindle account and transfer your purchase to your other devices - iPad, computer, etc. You can both have the Kindle app on your iPads and share the content as far as I know, so I see no conflict there. However, while I do have the Kindle app and an account, I do not use it very often.
If you want to share the one iTunes account, there should be no problems with a second iPad. I sync my iPad, my iPod Touch and my wife's iPod Touch to my MacBook using the same iTunes library and we have different content on all three devices. My daughter uses my iTunes account for her iPod Touch and syncs to her own MacBook and her own iTunes library.
Four devices using one iTunes account syncing to two different iTunes libraries.

  • Unknown device in Lenovo Solution Center Helix

It's not causing any problems, but it's killing me to know there is an unknown device that I can figure out what it is!!!  Talk about Fly in the Ointment.
Why is it there?  Why doesn't windows not know what it is?  What's it's motivation?
No external devices plugged in, wireless printer driver installed and working correctly.
This is one for Sherlock, or THE LENOVO COMMUNITY
I looked in device manager, nothing is popping out saying "Hey I'm unknown"
Lenovo Solution Center sees it but doesn't have a fix for it, and it gives me that smug number 1 with a red circle around it under check up (the nerve!).  Taunting me that something is not right and there's nothing I can do about it.
Help me Obi Wan Kanobi, your my only hope!
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

Lenovo Solution Center currently has a bug that happens on systems with touchscreens, it shows an unknown device like you say, even though there isn't anything wrong.
There is supposedly an update to LSC coming this week or next, it should fix this bug.
And there is something you can do about it, click on the "remind me" option and then select "never", then LSC won't bug you about this non-issue anymore.  Sorry for this inconvenience caused by LSC.

Glad to hear the problem is solvable. Regarding missing updates, I honestly would not know which one.
Lenovo's own update programs ('L-Update and Drivers' & 'L-System Health and Diagnostics') inform me that all drivers are up to date.
