Adding characteristic to report makes data disappear(BEx)

Can anyone help me out regarding why records are disappearing from query(BEx) when any attribute of XYZ_SALES is added.

Hi Sridhar,
Please check if there is any Restriction in BEX Query where you are excluding all records with 0MAT_SALES = #.
Also if master data 0mat_sales is not maintained no data will come for its attribute as well in the report i.e if that order/document is not present in master data it will not flow in report also.

  • Calculated field makes data disappear in report

    Hi Gurus,
I have here unique problem of data disappearance columns included in the report are
year (time -dim), order number (backlog details - dim) , total backlog (f), rma backlog (f) , shipping backlog (f), hold backlog (f) . All are from same fact table. Now rma , shipping , hold are calculated columns and total backlog is base column.
    Filter : Year = 2009 , Order number = 11111 .
result of the above report is (without filter)
    2009 ,11111 , 4.0 , 0.0 , 4.0 , 4.0
When I take out hold_backlog column I get the data
    2009,11111, 4.0 , 0.0 , 4.0
but when I put the hold_backlog data does not come.
Now when I move any column excluding total_backlog afer order number then I get the data but it gives 0 to all derived column and in session query points to original column taking out the case statement .
    Second weird thing here is when i put case statement in hold_backlog as { CASE  WHEN  USJ_Analytics."Dim USJ Ord Hold"."Hold Id" IS NOT NULL  THEN USJ_Analytics."Fact USJ Sales Backlog".Shipping_Backlog ELSE 0 END }
Here automatically not come before after saving.
    { CASE  WHEN  NOT USJ_Analytics."Dim USJ Ord Hold"."Hold Id" IS NULL  THEN USJ_Analytics."Fact USJ Sales Backlog".Shipping_Backlog ELSE 0 END }
May be there is problem in case statement , could you pls help asap as I think this hold column culprit but dont know how ?

    Amol,
In the formula for the column causing the error, try adding an IfNull function to put 0 in place of the null, that might work.

  • Report column data disappears

    Hi OBI Gurus ,
We are using prebuilt OBI rpd for demo to client. In that for the subject area named 'Sales - Orders, Backlog and Invoices' for the Fact - Sales Backlog Lines and for the column Financial Backlog Amount we are getting the problem in the report side. Problem is that when we take the column in answer we don't get the data but when we add other column with it then we get data. Now this problem is related only with this perticular column of this subject. This column has been used for our new reports which are embedded with dashboard. Now because of this only it is not showing data on dashboard. Main thing this column was showing the data previously but one full load occured and problem started. What could be the reason that this is happening ?

    Hi Folks,
I have been come through the problem by upgrading it from 10.1.3.3 to 10.1.3.4 what do you think how it happened?

  • Data disappears when a field is added to report

I have a report that uses two files. The first one has a field called "amount code", and the second includes that code field as well as a description of the code.
But when I link that second file to the first one, data disappears when I drag a field from the second file into the report. The first 10 fields in the report are from the first file, and they look fine. But as soon as I drag in any of the fields from the second file, all of the data in the report disappears. (This happens no matter where I drag that field to...data, page headers, etc.)
I'm pretty sure I have the files linked correctly. Can anyone tell my why this happens?
(When I use the either file by itself, things look fine.)
    Thanks, Jon

    Hi Raghavendra,
I think I have it figured out (or more accurately, our DBA figured it out for me).
The problem is that in the main file, the code field is only one digit long (string). But in the second file (the code description file), that code field is 8 digits long, even though only the first digit has any data (followed by 7 blanks). Therefor CR doesn't see any matches.
It looks like the solution is to truncate the field in the code description file so it's only one digit long instead of 8.
But thanks for the help...I'm clearly over my head, and very much appreciate your assistance.

  • Crystal report showing Incorrect data against Bex Query

I have created Crystal report on top of Bex Query, I have not done any calculations in the report, just dragging structure and key figure in the report, ran for one month, when I compare with Bex Query with same period, it is showing incorrect data.
I don't know what can be wrong here?
We are Business Objects 3.1 SP3.
    Thanks,

    HI,
I would suggest you trace the workflow in Web INtelligence according to these notes:

  • How bex report take data

    Hi Friends,
We loaded data to cube it was successful, again i loaded data which was modified in source system and before loading this time i deleted the previous request.
Now in cube only one request is there and in bex report data was reflecting correctly.
This cube data is used in SAP BO  reporting means they built reports on cube then in their report it is not reflecting .
    i have two questions here.
    1) Apart from cube where data will be stored in bw server if it happen how to delete the complete data in bw server?
    2) how bex fetch data from cube? ( because the way bex retreaving is differ from bo report retreave)
Pls can any one  tell me.
    Thanks in advance,
    Thanks & Regards,
    Ramnaresh.P.
Edited by: ramnaresh porana on Dec 3, 2008 5:49 AM

    Hi ramnaresh,
As for my Knowledge data will be stored in two palcess , One is cube (nothing but F& E tables) Another one is PSA. But PSA data is not used for bex. So we will use only on cube data.
Bex report will bring the data from OLAP processor,  it will bring data from data base tables(F&E).
once you run the query  first time it will fetch data from  data base(F & E tables)  to olap processor and copy the same data in olap Cache then send to Bex Analizer.
second time you run the same query then it will fetch data from olap chase .
    Thanks

  • Input Query Data disappears

    Hi,
I have created an Aggregate Level on Multiprovider and restricted in the query as follows:
       Currency Key (USD)
       Posting Period (#)
       InfoProvider
Actual Amt(RKF by Actual Infoprovider) - Read Enabled
Plan Amt(RKF by Plan Infoprovider) - Plan Enabled
Input Query starts in change mode
When I execute the query in Bex Analyzer, I can see data in Actual Amt RKF and enter data in Plan Amt RKF.When I save the data it disappears. For save I am using SAVE_AREA command.Any ideas on what is missing in here.
Before I can make my selections complex, I wanted to try this simple one. Also, I can't execute this query from query designer ..some problem with basis setting, I hope that isn't the reason.I got this working when I created the input query on real time provider rather than multiprovider. But I want to make it work with multiprovider as I need to show data from actuals and plan.
    Thanks
    RT

    Ravi,
You tell the system within your RKF by selecting real time infoprovider in addition to the amount.I deleted what I had created earlier to have a clean start. Here are the steps I followed to re-create: (we are working with 0amount, posting period, currency key and infoprovider objects only)
    1.Created 2 restricted key figures (RKF1 - 0amount, actual cube and RKF2 - 0amount, plan cube)
    2. RKF1 planning properties data cannot be changed and RKF2 planning properties data can be changed by user or planning functions.
    3. Created structure in columns and added these two RKF.
    4. Added Posting Period to rows and changed display to key.Acess type to Master data and query execution to char rels.
5.Added Currency to rows and changed display to No Display.
6.In the default values, set posting period to 1and set currency key to USD.
    7.Added Infoprovider to free char.
8.Added both posting period (1) and currency key(usd) to char restrictions.
9.Opened Bex Analyzer and created the save command.
    10. Executed the query, input the data and data disappears.
    Cheers

  • Reports on data changes

    Hi all!
I've been searching for the most simple solution for tracking changes made to database data. I know there are some posts about this already but I haven't fuound suitable solution yet. I've been searcing for Orcale built in solutions and came up with Workspace manager and AUDIT statement for keeping the track on data changes.
I'm wondering, is there another option to do this or is it best to make own history tables and triggers on INSERT, UPDATE and DELETE? If these history tables have similar structure like original tables, what happens when table is altered, a column is added or dropped?
All I need is to be able to make reports on data changes. Basically I need to know who changed what column, what the old value was (NULL on INSERTs) and what the new value is (NULL on DELETEs).
Does anyone have any simple and effective solution for this. Maybe some Oracle built in feature I haven't found out about yet? (We're using 10gR2)
    Thank you in advance!
    BB

Well I came up with some solution :).
Since we have our owns user and timestamp fields on almost every table and triggers, taht fill these two columns, it wasn't that difficult after you suggested your solution.
I include my user column into change table and in JDeveloper in application module I've overridden the prepareSession method with custom method that sets identifier on the database. It looked OK. Bu now I have a couple of questions about CDC and really hope for some answers since I'm running a little out of time and would appreciate any help from someone that uses CDC or knows more about it than I do.
I've been reading literature and found out, that there is a job executing every 24 hours that clears all data changes that is not subscribed to some subscriber. I thought I could use only the publisher for my history records but looks like I was wrong. So I've created a subscriber. My questions are:
    1. Do I need a subscriber or can I keep history without and make reports on change tables?
    2. Even if I need subscriber, how can I be sure, that data from change tables or subscriber views won't disappear eventually?
As I mentioned I need some kind of a history of data changes recording option and went after CDC. I hope I made the right decision and would really like to found out the answers to my questions.
    Thank you all in advance!
    Take care.
    BB.

  • KE28 with" Copy Characteristic Value with Reference Data" doesn't work

    Hi experts:
We need to make a top-down setting the processing option 'Copy Characteristic Value with Reference Data'. We have the following source data:
    Customer Business Unit  Value field.
    6        #              100
On the other hand, we have plan data as reference data:
    Customer Business Unit  Value field.
           A              40
           C              40
           D              20
We need to run a top-down to distribute from client to Business Unit but copying client of reference data. Then, we set 'Copy Characteristic Value with Reference Data' and, in the selection criteria we set '*' for customer.
After running, the result is that the system can find 1 sender and 3 receivers. It is exactly what we are expecting. However, program doesn't make individual items and anything is distributed.
We have found notes 1086282 and 1273924 but the result is the same after implementing these notes.
Thanks in advance for your help.
    Best regards

There are some restrictions on the XML Schema format that you can report off of in Crystal Reports.
If you're using the ODBC XML driver, you may find this of relevance:
    [http://resources.businessobjects.com/support/communitycs/TechnicalPapers/cr_xml_data_sources.pdf|http://resources.businessobjects.com/support/communitycs/TechnicalPapers/cr_xml_data_sources.pdf]
and if you're using the native XML driver, the following gives a guide for the accepted formats:

  • Satatus of Data in Bex Analyzer

    Hello ,
is it possible to hide "status of data" in bex analyzer ?  I have read some documents but all are say it is only possible with Web Designer.
I have a query from a Multiprovider and I don't wnt to show Status of data information in the report .
    thank you ,
    blue

You can goto design mode in the workbook and delete the text element which is showing status of data, come out of design mode and save the workbook.

  • How to create a report with data using the Crystal Reports for Java SDK

    Hi,
How do I create a report with data that can be displayed via the Crystal Report for Java SDK and the Viewers API?
I am writing my own report designer, and would like to use the Crystal Runtime Engine to display my report in DHTML, PDF, and Excel formats.  I can create my own report through the following code snippet:
    ReportClientDocument boReportClientDocument = new ReportClientDocument();
    boReportClientDocument.newDocument();
However, I cannot find a way to add data elements to the report without specifying an RPT file.  Is this possible?  I seems like it is since the Eclipse Plug In allows you to specify your database parameters when creating an RPT file.
is there a way to do this through these packages?
    com.crystaldecisions.sdk.occa.report.data
    com.crystaldecisions.sdk.occa.report.definition
Am I forced to create a RPT file for the different table and column structures I have?
Thank you in advance for any insights.

    Hi Rameez,
After working through the example code some more, and doing some more research, I remain unable to populate a report with my own data and view the report in a browser.  I realize this is a long post, but there are multiple errors I am receiving, and these are the seemingly essential ones that I am hitting.

  • Capacity Utilization Reports no data

Hi all, starting a new thread as none of the similar threads have been able to resolve my issue.
We have System Center 2012 SP1 on Server 2012, SCOM VMM, SM, Orchestrator, App Controller etc.
    When I run the Capacity Utilization report I only have data returned for PIF, Net transfer, Capacity Utilization and Dick IO all return;
No data available. Possible causes include::
The performance rules for the report have not been enabled in the VMM Reports MP.
No computers match your selection criteria.
I am adding the Hyper-V host to the report, I have also added the Windows server objects to the report.
The SCOM host has the execution policy set to Unrestricted as per one post I have found. Pro Tips do work when tested.
I did find this blog :
    http://blogs.technet.com/b/rexzh/archive/2013/08/20/scvmm-2012-sp1-capacity-utilization-report-missing-data.aspx

If I look at the monitoring views I see performance data against the Hosts.
