Adding logon groups to logon pad

Hi,
How do I use SAP GUI 7.10 to add these logon groups to my logon pad?
Please guide.
Regards,
Visshwas

Hi,
If you have more than 1 instance then you will be adding these instances to a partcular logon group at the time of post installation. Clicking on the SAP system in the logon pad you will be getting the logon group, message server helps you in logging into the particular instance.logon group helps in load balancing.

    how can i find SAP Gui logon pad version ?

    Hi,
    That's easy. At the top of the logon, you see a title bar with a general version indication. At the most left of it, you'll see an icon. Click on that and choose about SAP logon and you'll get detailed info.

  • Using Bex without populating systems in the logon pad

    We have just migrated to NW Portal 7 and are currently upgrading the rest of the landscape, and want all users to use the portal to access all our SAP systems this includes BW.
    As I understand it when you open a query using Bex it gets the list of systems from the installed logon pad.  Is there another way to do this as we do not want to roll out a new logon pad to all users?

    Are you trying to find a way to disable access to the BEx Analyzer?
    If so, we are wrestling with the same issue, but think we have found a possible answer. Assuming you are using Single Sign-On on the Portal, run transaction SU01 and go to the Logon Data tab. Click on the 'Deactivate' button (unlit match) in front of the Initial Password field.
    Of course, the downside is that this would have to be done for each user, but it seems to work. If any other gurus out there have better suggestions, please jump in.
    Hope this helps...

  • How to Disable edit option in Logon pad

    Hi,
    How to disable edit option in logon pad
    thanks

    Actually if you are looking to disable the "Edit" option so end users cannot change or modify the existing  Logon Pad options systems, you can.
    What version are you using for SAP GUI?
    7.10 has icons to the right which allow changes. (New, edit, etc)
    7.20 has icons across the toolbar at the top. (pencil, paper, trashcan)
    For both versions, Navigate to C:\Program Files\SAP\FrontEnd\SAPgui (Default location)
    In there you will find 2 executeables:
    saplgpad.exe
    saplogon.exe
    If you run the saplogon.exe it will allow edit, delete and modify
    If you run the saplgpad.exe:
    On the 7.10 version the buttons are gone.
    On the 7.20 version, the buttons are grayed out.
    Hope this is what you are looking for.

  • Sapgui 710/Vista problem (multiple logon pads open)

    Running SAPgui 710 (pl3) on a Vista workstation.
    When I open more than 1 SAP logon pad, then select a system from 1 pad, then try to select a system to logon to from the 2nd logon pad, I get the error:
    (X) Internal Error: Internal Server Error, no more memory
    component DPTM
    This does not happen on an XP workstation.
    Any suggestions?

    We reinstalled sapgui, same problem.  We installed sapgui on 2 other vista machines - same problem.  Is anybody else running Sapgui 710 patch 3 on a Vista machine, with this problem?
    1) open a sap logon pad
    2) open a 2nd logon pad
    3) from the 1st logon pad select a system, get to the logon prompt, minimize the window
    4) from the 2nd logon pad, try to select a system
    this is where we get the "internal server error"
    Anybody else seen this?  Do you have a solution?
    Thanks,
    Scott

  • AWS HANA ABAP and sap logon pad

    I am looking to consume HANA views with ABAP (as demostrated here SAP HANA Academy - ABAP: How to consume HANA procedures in ABAP - YouTube  )
    I have an AWS account with a HANA installation running with which I have connected with HANA Studio (rev 80) successfully.
    The SAP GUI 730 (Patch 4 Hotfix 2) is installed and I have also successfully installed Eclipse Kepler (in accordance with this guide Step-by-step Guide to setup ABAP on HANA with E... | SCN )
    When I try to create an ABAP project I am asked to either use the connection details in the SAP logon pad or connect manually. I have not maintained the logon pad details and hence wish to connect manually.
    Here is where it gets fuzzy to me. In order to connect with my HANA instance what do I enter as:
    - Application server? The IP-address of the HANA instance, right?
    - Instance number?
    - System-Id?
    - SAP router string?
    I assume that this is all information that is available with my AWS instance, but I dont know where to find it.  Furthermore, I am assuming that no additional components are required in my set-up. If this assumption is wrong please indicate what is missing.
    I greatly appreciate any support.
    Thanx

    Problem solved!

  • Can't get SAP logon pad to work.

    I've tried installing the latest version of SAP on a PC running XP, and got this error when I double click on the SAP logon pad:
    C:\Program Files\SAP\SapSetup\setup\SAL\saplgpad.s8l
    This action is only valid products that are currently installed.
    This PC may have had an older version of SAP that was not properly uninstalled.  I've tried reinstall the new version several times.  I tried a registry cleaner after removing SAP, but that did help either.  Any other suggestions?  Thanks.
    Mark

    Hi Mark
    Kindly check the Microsoft dot-net frame work. because some of the same Sap application require to install the latest Dotnet frame work.

  • ECC system access  without Logon pad

    Friends,
    Is there any other way to access ECC  sytem  without using Logon pad  and ITS URL ?
    Regards,
    Arun

    You can acess from NWBC, but GUI must be installed in this case, also more reports you can create or implement from Portal, like ESS MSS. For BW you can connect from Excel.

  • Batch file for End Users SAP logon pad update.

    Hi All,
    We need to make sure that some of the new systems are updated in the end users logon pad. I know that on the logon pad itself a user can create an entry for the new Server but is it possible to create a batch file that will automatically update the logon pad, when ran.
    If yes, then can someone guide me on the steps.

    the logon pad relies on a few files:
    saplogon.ini
    sapmsg.ini
    and another one less used:
    sapgraph.ini
    so, all you have to do is to copy these files from a distribution server, upon the next saplogon restart, it will use the new config.

  • Facing "double logon pad" error in portal.

    Hello,
    Issue:Facing "double logon pad" error in portal.
    I am facing double logon pad error in the system in the WoC Home.I checked TREX is running fine.
    Kindly suggest me in this issue.

    Just check these things.
    As you said BI-ABAP stack level is 20. so you have to upgrade the java stack to the same level.
    Please ensure that both ABAP and JAVA stack should be in same level. Check for the SSO connectivity when u configured portal with your BI.
    As you are getting Server is missing error in portal, have you configured the BI server settings in the portal ie., exact server name and system no.? please check the same, if you havent checked.
    As usual check for the RFC connection. whether it is working fine or not. Check for the userids which you are given for the configuration.
    If the userid get locked, the configuration will not work and the execution of query will not be happen on portal.
    Please check these things and try to execute it again.
    Hope this would help you.

  • How to disable (hide) accessibility option in logon pad?

    Hi all
    How can I hide the accessibility option in logon pad? Or is it of any use if we do not implement / setup accessibility (see thread Accessibility- Logon Pad)?
    Kind regards,
    Renaud

    Hi Disha
    In the bbpglobal/99/logon template coding there's a option called ~dontshowaccessibilityonlogin. Great I thought... and set it to 1 in SICF service of BBPSTART (BBPGLOBAL isn't there), invalidated all caches and restartet ICM. Unfortunately I had no luck... in a second try I then put this parameter in BBPGLOBAL via SE80 and published this IAC service re-invalidated all caches again and restarted ICM again as well... again: no luck!
    In the template coding I can see that the ~dontshowaccessibilityonlogin parameter is used and as far as I understand it, it should be taken into account correctly.
    `if (~dontshowaccessibilityonlogin != "1")`
              <tr>
                <td class="loginlabel"><label for="acc" tabindex="0">`#ACCMODE` </label> </td>
                <td class="loginlabel"><input type="checkbox" id="acc" name="~accessibility" value="`~accessibility`" class="entryColor" onclick="return setaccmode();">  </td>
              </tr>
              <tr>
                <td height="1" width="1" background="`mimeURL(~service="bbpglobal", ~language="", ~name="images/datafield/datafield_line1.gif")`" colspan="1">
                <img src="`mimeURL(~service="bbpglobal", ~language="", ~name="images/background/spacer.gif")`" height="1" width="1" border="0" title="Platzhalter"></td>
                <td height="1" background="`mimeURL(~service="bbpglobal", ~language="", ~name="images/datafield/datafield_line2.gif")`" colspan="1">
                <img src="`mimeURL(~service="bbpglobal", ~language="", ~name="images/background/spacer.gif")`" height="1" width="1" border="0" title="Platzhalter"></td>
              </tr>
    `end`
    What am I doing wrong?
    Kind regards,
    Renaud

  • Adding new groups to weblogic

    Is there a way of adding new groups to weblogic without using the console ? I need to add a list of group names (~100) from a flat file to weblogic. Is there a way I could automatically add those groups instead of me creating each of those groups from the console. Any suggestions would be helpful. Thanks.

    This is likely not the forum to get an answer to this question - check the BEA support fora.
    IIRC groups are defined in weblogic.xml - unless you are talking about some other groups, in which case it depends on your authorization provider, right?
    Good Luck
