Adding Scorecard to Briefing Book in OBIEE 11G
Hello
Can we add a scorecard to a briefing book in obiee 11g? I tried adding strategy tree and KPI watchlist. I cannot edit it once it is added to briefing book.If I try to open it in pdf I can only see KPI watchlist. This is the error I am getting when I am trying to edit it
Sax parser returned an exception.
Message: Expected an attribute value, Entity publicId: , Entity systemId: , Line number: 3, Column number: 53
Can someone help me regarding this.

Adding a XML Data source in Obiee 11g on Linux
Hi guys, I need your help.
I'm creating a new database in the physical layer as XML.
On the connection pool (named xml_source), I’m setting the path to the XML file, inside the datasourse name, with this format: /u01/app/xmltest/
My XML test file is this: xml_test.xml, So in the table information, I’m setting the xml file name as this: xml_test (without the xml extension)
The issue is when I’m trying to issue the SQL, the error message displayed says:
Query Failed: [nQSError: 64023] cannot access /u01/app/xmltest\xml_test.xml: No such file or directory
As you can read in the error message there is a “\” just before the xml file. So in Linux it is not a "\" but a "/", why is obiee setting a wrong path? How can I "tell" obiee that this is a Linux environment not a Windows?

If that is the case then it is more tricky because you would need to use some javascript in a narrative view and - here's the annoying part - there is a bug in 11g which means the narrative view does not accept HTML markup. It is due to be fixed in 11.1.1.4.

How to change Default number of rows displayed in a Briefing Book
Hi,
We have a requirement to deliver a dashboard containing 7 dashboard pages to the business users.
To achieve this, I have created a briefing book by adding all the required dahboard pages and scheduled an agent to deliver the briefing book in PDF format. However, the briefing book delivered by the agent shows only 25 rows for all the analysis (reports) included in the dashboard pages.
I have already made the following settings:
1. At the report level, edited the table view property to show 150 Rows Per page.
2. At the dashboard page level, edited the PDF and Print properties to Print All Rows.
3. Edited the instanceconfig.xml file to include the following tag under <Table> tag: <DefaultRowsDisplayedInDelivery>15000</DefaultRowsDisplayedInDelivery>
Please advise if there is any setting which can help in increasing the default number of rows in a Briefing Book (OBIEE 11.1.1.3).

This is a bug in 11.1.1.3
Bug 12671370 - BRIEFING BOOKS DO NOT SHOW ALL ROWS
As a workaround, you may want to click on the "Display Maximum(500) rows per page" button on the dashboard page before you download to Briefing books.This will work for reports with less than 500 rows.

Displaying images in Briefing Book
Hi,
We are using Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition v10.1.3.4.
In OBIEE Answers, we have two reports and one dashboard page that hold these two reports. It is to be noted that the measure columns in both the reports have some images based upon the criteria specified in "Conditional Formatting" for the measure columns.
With the above setup in place, here is the problem scenario:
When we create a Briefing Book and individually add the two reports to it, all works fine. The display generated by "Get Now" and "Print Now" buttons in the briefing book is OK.
However, if we create a Briefing Book and add the dashboard that contains the two reports (and not the reports themselves), then the display that is generated using the "Get Now" and "Print Now" buttons does not show the images in the measure columns - instead it shows a red X mark in place of the images.
If we add either of the report to this briefing book now, the red X marks are replaced by the corresponding images for that report.
In essence, we are not being able to display the images in the measure columns if we add the dashboard page (containg the reports) to the briefing book rather than adding the reports themselves.
Any help is much appreciated.

If you can see it in RRP3 then you should also be able to see the sales orders in the Standard SAP planing book based on 9ASNP94 planning area. can you see this?
if so .. your planning area is not set right
check if you have intialized the planning area and if your planning book has the required KF setup properly and similar to what you have set up in the Standard book
Also check if your MPOS that is attached to the new planning area is set up correctly
another point to check is if your selection id is properly selected when you load on to the planning area -

so, i added page for this, but where i can found subject areas in OBIEE 11g so that i can create a report on this page based on that subject area.

For Creating New Reports,
1.Got to -> New ->Analysis you will have your Presentation Tables under Select Subject Area
Click on your Subject Area -> you'll get list of tables under the Subject Area
2. Expand the Folders and click the required column.
3. Click on Result tab - > you'll get Title and Table View
4. Format your Table view and Title View
5. Save your New Report in Shared Folders (You may create your own folder under Shared folder)
View the Reports on Dashboard.
1.Got to -> New ->Dashboard -> you will have New Dashboard Window
Name - Give the name of your Dashboard
Select Location - /Shared Folders/Standard Dashboard/
Click Ok -> you'll get Empty Dashboard window.
2. Edit the Dashboard -> Drag and Drop your Saved reports from Shard Folder under Catalog
3. Click on Save button (Top Right) and save your dashboard -> click run [Green right Arrow(Top Right)].
4. Now you'll have your report in your dashboard page.
Rename Dashboard Page
Edit the Dashboard - > Click Properties Nedt to X Symbol -> Dashboard Properties
-> You'll have the Dashboard Properties window -> Select the Dashboard Page -> Rename
Prompts:
1.Got to -> New ->Dashboard Prompt-> you will have your Presentation Tables under Select Subject Area
Click on your Subject Area -> you'll get the Untitle Prompt Window
-> Click + symbol -> Column Prompts ->you'll get list of tables
2. Expand the Folders and click the required columns from the list (the Columns should be your Report's table).
3. Save your New Prompts in Shared Folders.
Note: The Prompt columns should be Is Promptd in your Reports Filters.

How to show all the rows in PRint html option in obiee 11g

I am facing a issue in obiee 11g(windows 2003 server). I have 2 environments (SIT & dev)
In dev I am not facing any issue but in SIT when i print the report in html only 1-25 rows are displayed.
What should i do to see all the rows

In your Dev Server its configured on instanceconfig.xml file that why are getting the all rows with setting pdf/print control properties.

When a table or pivot table includes a large number of rows, a set of buttons can be displayed under the view. You can use the following buttons to page through the rows in the view:
•First 25 Rows — Displays the first 25 rows of data for the view. The number that is used for the First, Previous, and Next buttons is specified by the Rows per Page field in the "Table Properties dialog: Style tab".
•Previous 25 Rows — Displays the previous 25 rows of data for the view.
•Next 25 Rows — Displays the next 25 rows of data for the view.
•Display maximum (500) rows per page — Allows you to display as many as the maximum number of rows per page at one time temporarily. The default is 500. The administrator can specify a different maximum value that is displayed on the tooltip for the button using the MaxVisibleRows element in the configuration file.

Annotations (comments) in OBIEE 11g
Hi All,
OBIEE 11g offers annotation functionality which allows users to add comments to KPIs, objectives and initiatives in a Scorecard. I wanted to know if such feature is available for 'Analyisis' as well? Or in other words, can users add comments to the reports they make or view?

My client is looking for a functionality that can help their users post comments on the reports (basically a discussion forum kind of an environment). The intent is to promote collaborative decision making. I see that 'annotations' in scorecards come really close to it. So are you suggesting that 'annotations' are limited only to scorecards? I would have loved to see this feature in Reports as well.

We have a requirement to implement custom SSO with OBIEE 11g.
Is configuration of SSO in OBIEE 11g similar to that of OBIEE 10.1.3 ? (10g steps mentioned below)
1. Changing Instanceconfig.xml
2. Adding a user “Impersonate ” in Repository
3. Adding Impersonate user Credentials to Credential Store using cryptotools
4. Add Credential Store information to Instanceconfig .xml file
Are there any additional configurations required to be related to weblogic integration with OBI?What sort of SSO setup are you looking to implement? The security model in 11g is much more complex and unfortunatelly it's all in Weblogic. I don't think that was a good idea but Oracle it's obviously pushing to use all of its products into OBIEE.
On the positive side OBIEE 11g now supports configuring authentication and SSO with Active Directory and Windows Native Authentication using Kerberos (the next generation authentication protocol after NTLM). This SSO solution is sometimes called "silent SSO" as does not require domain authenticated users to login to OBIEE and it's completely transparent. In view it's the "real and proper" SSO solution as it's server side and it's unspoofable. Oracle Support Note ID 1274953.1 provides guidance on how to do that. The configuration process is complex but it provides a way to use Windows Native Authentication out-of-the-box in OBIEE 11g without having to rely on custom/3er party components or any additional license costs. -
Formatting Totals in OBIEE 11g
Hi,
we have a requirement to format the totals of a table in obiee 11g.
When I format the totals, the formatting selections I made is not applied for all the entire totals section.
If the table has more than one dimension values in it, the formatting changes on Totals section is applied only for the first cell in the section.
However, the formatting changes of Totals section are fine for the measures added.

Currently, i was working in mapping feature in obiee 11g. For that i have added
<li>Necessary <spatial tags> in instanceconfig.xml file.
<li>Created a new datasource in the mapviewer and brought it to the online.
<li> After that i went into analytics page and under the Administration tab--->Manage Map Data-->Import Layers
<li> Soon after pressing it an import layers dialog box has to open, but instead of it for me the following error is occurring
There was an error with the server CallBecause of that, it is not allowing me to select layers. what may be the problem over here.
