Adjust sound volume with as2

Hello,
I am working on a project with background music.  Is there a way to adjust the sound volume?  My project is using AS2 and I would like to keep it an AS2 project.  Is there a script that I can put in my actions panel to adjust by percentage?
thanks,
Mark.

what timeline contains the code and what's the relationship between that timeline and the one that contains the sound?

  • Increasing sound volume with amixer

    Hi,
    I know, I can set the sound volume with something like this:
    > amixer set Master 10
    But is it also possible to relattivly set the sound? Can I somehow in example increase the volume by 10%?
    I want to set keyboard shortcuts for turning volume up and down!
    Thanks!
    Nathan

    Read "man amixer":
    set or sset <SCONTROL> <PARAMETER> ...
                  Sets the simple mixer control contents. The parameter can be the
                  volume either as a percentage from 0% to 100% with %  suffix,  a
                  dB  gain  with  dB  suffix  (like -12.5dB), or an exact hardware
                  value.  The dB gain can be used only for the mixer elements with
                  available  dB  information.   When plus(+) or minus(-) letter is
                  appended after volume value, the volume is incremented or decre-
                  mented from the current value, respectively.
    For keyboard shortcuts, use e.g. xbindkeys or xhotkeys or keytouch.

  • I have no sound on my ipad. unless its plugged into my haier external home dock/speaker. I can adjust the volume with the buttons when its plugged in. not when its not plugged in. I play music thru the dock, immediately when I take it off my sound shuts.

    Title.
    Docked into device (haier dock/speakers) sound works on everything fine.
    Not plugged in, nothing. Didnt work on ios6 or ios7. Ipad 3 32gb.

    Reset iPad
    Hold down the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears
    Note: Data will not be affected.

  • Adjusting sound volume from inside the game???

    hi there all,
    how can i adjust the pc volume from the game?? like in options menu....
    TiA

    Use something like this to set the volume for the Clip. Then play it.
    If you need to access it in an option menu, save the value (mute)0..100 (load) and allow the user to select the volume from a cobmo box or list box containing 0, 10, 20 ... , 100.
      public static void setVolume(Clip clip,int volumePercent)
        try
          if (clip.isControlSupported(FloatControl.Type.VOLUME))
            FloatControl volumeControl = (FloatControl) clip.getControl(FloatControl.Type.VOLUME);
            volumeControl.setValue((float) (volumePercent / 100.0));
          else if (clip.isControlSupported(FloatControl.Type.MASTER_GAIN))
            float value = (float)(volumePercent / 100.0);
            FloatControl gainControl = (FloatControl) clip.getControl(FloatControl.Type.MASTER_GAIN);
            float dB = (float)(Math.log(value == 0.0 ? 0.0001 : value)/Math.log(10.0)*20.0);
            gainControl.setValue(dB);
        catch (Exception exception)
          println("Problem in Media.setVolume");
          exception.printStackTrace();

  • Sound volume with Flash plug-in much lower than IE or Chrome, can barely hear anything. This just started happening last week, did something change?

    When I play Flash videos, i.e. YouTube, the sound is barely audible. I have to crank my speakers way up to hear anything. When I open the same video in IE or Chrome, I don't have that issue, the sound is normal. This just started happening about a week ago, and I have the latest plug-in. I also only have one version of Shockwave on my plug list.

    Try to clear the Flash cookies and settings.

  • Menu Bar - Sound Volume icon does not move with the press of the F key

    So I normally press the F keys to control the Sound Volume, right, just like everyone else does -
    but the Sound Volume icon in the Menu Bar at the top right does not respond to the F key at all!
    Isn't it supposed to react simultaneous with the press of the F key?
    I have to actually use my mouse click to make that volume go up and down.
    The actual volume does work with the F key, it goes up and down.
    But to make the 2 work in sync, I have to point the mouse to the one at the Menu Bar, fiddle with it, and then I can use the F key and both work together at the same time.
    If I haven't touched the Menu Bar one for a while and I only use the F key, the Menu Bar one doesn't move at all.
    It's weird. Any ideas?

    I see what Al is seeing. Normally I just use one method or the other. The Volume Adjustment keys provide visual feedback, so it's unnecessary to check the menu extra, i.e. the Volume menu bar icon, to see the same feedback.
    The slight delay in the reaction of the Volume menu extra, when open and while adjusting the volume with the Volume keys is normal.
    They're independent methods for adjusting the Volume setting. The Volume menu extra takes a moment to refresh when the slider is displayed and you're changing the setting via the Volume keys.
    Good luck!

  • Weird ticking sound when adjusting the volume...

    Hi all
    When adjusting the volume using the F3 F4, my new ibook 12" g4 makes a weird ticking sound before it catches up an adjusts the volume with the normal "blop" sound. Is this normal? Batteri is on "normal."
    Thanks
    Erlend

    I have this same problem with my new 1.33Ghz iBook G4. I've had the logic board replaced twice and the top assembly with the speakers replaced twice also. It still makes the ticking noise and it's quite specific to reproduce so none of the Apple tech have spent the time to reproduce it. I think this problem is more wide spread than Apple realizes.
    Here are the factors that HAVE to exist for this problem to be reproduced:
    1. The computer must be have the AC adapter unplugged and running off of the battery.
    2. Un-click "Play feedback when volume is changed" in System Preferences under "Sound" (While this is not exclusive to having the "ticking audio" problem occur, it is easier to notice with this box unchecked)
    3. 10.4.2 or 10.4.3 (even happens on a fresh install)
    4. Push the F4 and F5 keys to change the volume for at least 10-20 seconds and the "ticking sound" will occur. (the lagging after the tick is most annoying.)
    Launching iTunes and playing audio will temporarily make this problem subside. Once this problem occurs with "Play feedback when volume is changed" unchecked, it will continue until audio is played or the sound preference panel is accessed. Often the sound balance will be 100% to the left after this problem has started occuring. (Checking the Sound preference panel shows this)
    Has anyone had this problem fixed permanently? Apple seems to be unaware of this problem. 10.4.4 could fix it. Unfortunately we are not even sure if this is a hardware problem or a software issue. I will post with details of what happens when I bring my machine in to the Apple store for the 4th or 5th time.

  • I can't adjust the volume on my IPhone!  HELP!

    I can't hear any alerts and the volume doesn't adjust when I push the side buttons.  I do not have the sounds locked and I have the feature on to allow adjusting the volume with the buttons.  When I push the side buttons the ringer icon comes up but the volume wont adjust.

    I had the same issue. I also couldn't hear any music or sound from apps and no sound when I typed a text message. But ringer worked which was odd. I sent in for repair and Apple sent me a replacement device.

  • Can't adjust the volume while using DJ controller

    I've got a DJ controller. I just hopped from Windows to MAC (Pro Retina 13). I basically use Traktor DJ whenever I mix. Normally when I'd quit the program for DJing, the controller kept working - so I could play music via youtube through my speakers.
    And just control the volume overall with the volume keys. Now that I'm on MAC, the DJ program works fine and I can control the master with a knob, but as soon as I quit the DJ program - It plays music through youtube and iTunes just fine, the only thing is it won't allow me to adjust the volume in any way.
    The controller is mapped to a program, I can't use a master knob to adjust the volume out of the program...
    Whenever I try to adjust the volume with the F11 and F12 keys it just shows an O with a slash through it.
    I really want to control my volume through my mixer, please help!!!

    Have you by chance installed an app called "Boom"?

  • No sound volume controller in Satellite L750 Series

    I just bought a new Satellite L750-A057 laptop, and found a very stupid design issue that it is has no volume controller ! ONLY WINDOWS one, so If I'm in a middle of any full screen application, I must exit or switch to desktop to lower the volume !! and same for any other situation !!
    So, any recommendation about how could I control the sound volume with function keys for example ?

    It seems you are right. There is no additional volume controller which would allow to set the sound volume up and down
    In many cases the Toshiba Multimedia buttons contain an up and down volume buttons but it seems that the L750 does not support such buttons too
    Thats shame :(

    Hello, Miryam Maria.
    Thank you for visiting Apple Support Communities.
    I see you are experiencing issues with sound on applications when playing video/audio content.  If this is the case, the first thing I would check is if the side switch is set to silent as this can cause applications to be mute.  Below I have included an article that covers adjusting the  settings for the side switch.  Also, make sure to close all applications in Multitasking and power cycle the device.  Test the sound issue after processing these steps.

    Though I have doubts for success, you might try a SMC reset.  It can do no harm.  Otherwise, barring suggestions from others, the Apple Store or qualified repair facility is the last option.

  • I have an iMac running snow leopard. I have trouble with my internal speakers, I cannot adjust the volume without having an earphone plugged into the jack.

    The volume only works when I have earphones plugged into the jack, otherwise when I try to adjust the volume it has a circle with a cross. Ive tried restarting it with and without the headphones plugged in. However it does make that mac sound when turning on the machine before the apple logo comes on and takes me to the desktop screen. Is there anything I can do to fix this??

    I'm having a very similar problem.
    I've got a 2010 iMac that I've got hooked up to my Pioneer Elite via HDMI cable using the Moshi adapter.
    It's been working great for months, but today the audio began dropping out -- a fraction of a second, every six seconds or so.
    I installed the latest Snow Leopard update today. Does anyone think there might be a connection?
    thx!
