  • Cannot connect to Oracle cache administrator.Please help.

    I was not able to connect to the Oracle TimesTen database the usual way. I get the following errors:
    Backend failed with exit status 1:

    I have re-installed the TimesTen s/w quite a few times but in vain. It would be great if someone can throw light on this issue. Thanks in advance.

  • I have tried the following, "netsh winsock, reset", but I get a message that says the required operation requires elevation run as administrator . this is my laptop and I am an administrator, please help , itunes store is the only program i have issues

I am the owner of this laptop and I have administrative authority, why does this show and how can I fix this. Itunes store is the ONLY program I am having trouble with.Very , very frustrating.!!!!!!!!!!!!

    I will assume you're using Windows Vista-7:
    Try these steps instead:
    1 Click start, and in the start menu search, type "cmd" (without the quotes) DO NOT PRESS ENTER!
    2. Right click the "cmd" search result
    3. Click "Run as Administrator"
    4. If you get a pop up message, click yes or continue
    5. Type the command in the window as you did above.
    In an effort to try to prevent programs from messing with your computer, programs don't run under your administrator account unless you tell them to or they ask. This gives the Administrator (elevated) privelleges that you need.

    Feature requests, technical solutions etc would be much more clear if all of the unrelated topics were moved to their appropriate forums.
    As long as people see posts about photoshop, indesign, etc. in this forum, they will continue to be confused and post non CS review topics here.

    Hi,
    I think I found out what's going on here. Someone with Admin privileges  (but without my permission) reset the Premiere Pro Overview page, blowing away all the info in the pods. Then someone else with access - or maybe the same person - (again without asking my permission) went ahead and tried to "fix" it by copy/pasting data from the Hardware page. Hence, all these issues.
    I will find out who has the permissions with access to changing the Overview page, and will ask them not to do that. It is unacceptable that no one PM'd me telling me what they did.
    I am on vacation this week so please be patient as I try to restore the former page to its former glory when I get back. Great….

         We have been a Verizon customer for many many years now. Since they bought out Bellsouth Mobility back I don't know when, probably 20+ years ago. We have had our ups and downs over the years and have recommended and praised them to hundreds if not thousands of people during that time. But over the last few years it seems they just dont care about there customers anymore, just how many new ones we can get. When someone asks me about Verizon now all I can say is they have service here and I don't feel like I could recommend them over anyone else. It used to be just the opposite, I would say "There's no one better than Verizon" but not anymore. Over the last few days they have once again fallen another notch.
         It started with this Share Everything Plan that everyone is so upset over. So back on June the 14th I ordered me a new Galaxy S3 so I could keep my Unlimited Data Plan. And no I'm not one of these people the abuse the system as I only use about 2GB a month, and that is with three smartphones and two basic phones on our account. That's right a total of five lines. Anyway I called Verizon to check the status of my order on Monday July 9th and they told me that my order had been cancelled. Why? i asked and they could not tell me.
         What transpired during the initial order was the person on the phone that placed the order tried to save me some money. They first ordered it on a different line the was upgradable (instead of mine) because she thought she could save me an additional $50 but it didn't work. So then she cancelled that order and reordered it on my line and everything seemed fine. Went throught the terms of service at the end of the call and the whole thing. Then they sent me a TXT the next day and said if I want the order to complete I needed to log into my account and confirm once again which I did.
         Back to Monday when they said my order had been cancelled. They attempted to recover the order but were unable to find it. They could see the order had been cancelled and saw my confirmations of the same order but could not retrieve it. So here's the problem, my line shows that I have a phone on order so they can't reorder me a new phone. But the order they show active has been cancelled so I won't receive a new phone. Either way I cannot get a new phone. I have been on the phone with Verizon for approximately one hour a day for the last three days trying to get this resolved. In the middle of all of this they said if they did order my new phone that I most likely would not be able to have my unlimited data anymore because the order was not placed before the new plan took affect. So grudgingly I agreed to go to the new Share Everything Plan, changed everything over, and low and behold I still can't order a new phone. Why? because I already have one on order that has been cancelled.
         Now I figured over the last 20+ years that I have been a verizon customer that we have donated or payed through bills and new phones a sum of around $50,000! That's right and this is not an exaggeration. Now we"re not rich by any stretch of the imagination. Were just your average family who lives paycheck to paycheck and shares an account on verizon because it saves us some much needed money. But we have a good family that shares in the expense. When we upgrade at the reduced price it still is hard to do. But I do anyway because I like to have a new phone sometimes. This last experience sure took the fun out of that.
         So I said to the nice girl this morning, who swears I'll be able to buy a phone tomorrow, because they go onsale everywhere, how about when I order it tomorrow you give me free overnight shipping. Her response was "we"ll see what we can do". Really? Not "yes sir we can do that". Come on were talking $20 bucks in stead of $15, whatever they pay were only talking a few bucks. Wow, Really? we'll see?
         We have three smartphones that I would like to upgrade but how can I do that when they still can't do the first one. And after three days and three hours on the phone you would think someone would take notice and say "Hey we to get this resolved".
         Verizon really has no benefits or rewards for customer loyalty which is sad, because we are the ones that pay the bills when they sell a phone to someone who defaults or otherwise rips them of on their service. Were the stability in the company and we get treated like every bad customer that comes and goes. Verizon, you need someone who can step back from the rat race and say "hey we to to have a little more loyalty towards our customers" then maybe you will see a little more growth in your customer base that has been eluding you. I for one am someone who has lost his loyalty.
    P.S. my number ends in 0737 if by chance someone would like to call from verizon. Administrator-Please forward this to someone in verizon who can help other than customer service.

    I have to disagree with you in part here.  I completely agree with the statement about Verizon being run by humans and humans make mistakes (why we call it being human when it does happen). I also agree that the benefits are good overall network coverage and lots of equipment choices, yet I disagree with the subsidized phone pricing being a benefit.  The reason I disagree with this is, Verizon gets paid money from all of the App companies that have an app forced into the OS.  This is to supposedly keep the cost of the phones down for the end users, and it does not go down.  As a matter of fact it is just the opposite. If you buy a phone at full retail, Verizon still gets paid for the subsidy on your phone because all of the bloatware is still on your phone.
    Secondly, a portion of your monthly bill goes to pay that subsidy back to Verizon and if you go past your contract (your contract ends and you do not upgrade, you go back to the month to month on it) that portion of the bill that goes to pay back the subsidy, keeps getting paid to Verizon as pure profit
    The really big difference I think though is (back to the human part) since we all know mistakes are made, the measure of service now shifts from the mistake itself to how the mistake was rectified.  If it is rectified by the company (any company not just Verizon) as We are so sorry let us fix this right away for you and I will monitor the account and make sure this does not happen again, then the company has built a loyal customer (with me Verizon hits this mark about 80% of the time).  If however, the company shifts the blame to a third party, or gives the Verizon Company Line of "this is the first I am hearing about any issues with XXXX phone", and the issue is clearly outlined in not only these forums, but also documentation that Verizon Keeps of Known issues, then you end up losing a Loyal customer who will only stay with a company for a reason that benefits the user.
    Example, I got much better Customer service with AT&T and if the service and usability of the network, and the equipment was the same as Verizons, we would not be having this conversation as I would still be with AT&T. unfortunately for AT&T their network is substandard, has a lot of outages etc... so it is in my benefit to go to another company for my service. A company that will give me some benefit of using the service like reliability, or usability, or selection of equipment will catch my attention a lot faster then price. Again Verizon meets this portion 97% of the time (with me) so not only do I have the service, reliability, selection of equipment on board, they are usually easier to deal with and they can usually understand the problem and try to help. That is what built me to a loyal customer of Verizon, and even through ups and downs like we are currently going through, I am still loyal.

  • Java program are limited as Administrator after windows 7 update

    I have updated the windows 7.
    The java program(packaged by InstallAnywhere 2008 Enterprise) can be executed when I login the system as ordinary user.
    but the error will occur when I execute the java program as Administrator,please refer to the below error information.
    (The java program can be executed correctly before the windows 7 update, so I think there maybe some new restriction for the java if login as Administrator )

    I have a Sharepoint 2013 farm I am trying to provision search for (not the same as my other thread). However, I get the below error:
    Exception calling "Activate" with "0" argument(s): "Topology does not contain any components of type Microsoft.Office.Server.Search.Administration.Topology.AdminComponent"
    In my script, I have the following:
    New-SPEnterpriseSearchAdminComponent -SearchTopology $clone  -SearchServiceInstance $SearchServiceInstanceServer3 -ErrorAction SilentlyContinue
    So I am not sure why the error happens, when I am trying to set this component. However, it's not the first component to be set (index partition on non-local servers first). I can make it first, but why does this error happen?
    UPDATE: I have noticed that the usage and health proxy on my farm is/was stopped, but I am not able to access the server(s) to look at this right now. Could this cause this issue?

    Do you already have Admin component running for the Search Service Application?
    Usage and Health Service will not cause this issue.

  • Dv63119sa turns on and displays HP logo, then screen stays blank. Please help!!

    Hi everyone I was hoping someone could help me with a problem I've been having with my laptop. So from the beginning since I first got this dv63119sa I've had problems with overheating, and although this is another issue entirely from what my post is about I also ask if anyone has a solution to this as well. Now back to my previous problem, for some reason when I turn my laptop on everything seems fine, the HP start-up logo shows up, then it goes to a screen where I type my hard drive password in because I have TrueCrypt encryption installed and this is all fine, but after the password is accepted it goes to an endless black screen. It also beeps once with a space of about 20 seconds roughly it will beep once again. Now I looked this up and apparently it's something to do with the video card, which doesn't make sense on account that I can see the start-up logo etc. I've tried every solution I can find and nothing works so I'm hoping one of you kind people can point me in the right direction.     I just found that all items such as Session, Service... under Administration menu have disappeared... I tried to edit  the menu but I didn't see any items can be ticked within Administration .Please could anybody help me solved this problem? thanks!

    GDM 2.28 no longer has gdmsetup, so that entry would be gone due to that.  The other changes for Gnome 2.28 are listed here: http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Gnome_2.28_Changes
    Maybe have a look and see if any other problems that you're experiencing are listed there?

  • Error in Crawler Administration

    I posted about this error in a previous post but as it was all muddled up with another query which is now being dealt with by Plumtree Support, I thought I'd try posting about this error I'm getting in crawler administration independently.
    When I try to go into edit the crawler configuration I get the following error instead of displaying the admin page.
    Unable to initialize Service Configuration Interface for the Remote Crawler editor.     I tried the Service Configuration Interface URL (XUIService.asmx) it refers to and it's absolutely fine. I can't see anywhere what it's getting the 404 error on, none of the IIS logs for the Portal server or for the server with the Crawler report any 404 errors.
    I checked PTSpy and it appears to be looking at the right URL, but receiving a 404. PTSpy records the following, (I've changed the server name but it was correct):

    I wondered if it's trying to look for "/ANITA/DJCustomCrawlerWS/XUIService.asmx" in the portal server or whether it's looking in the lpctstrDomain where the file actually exists. Would you expect to see a fully qualified URL for lpctstrObject? Either way, as I said there is no 404s recorded in the IIS logs on either servers.
    Have I missed a config somewhere?

    Please try below mentioned steps:
    1. Central Administration > Monitoring > Review job definitions > Look for following timer job "Application Server Administration Service Timer Job" > Disable
    2. Then open windows administrative services (services.msc), stop SharePoint Timer Service
    3. Clear SharePoint Timer configuration cache by following steps mentioned in below blog:

    4. Start SharePoint Timer Service and give it a few seconds so that the new XML files from the location you deleted then are re-populated.
    5.Central Administration > Monitoring > Review job definitions > Look for following timer job "Application Server Administration Service" Timer Job > Enable

  • Windows 7 OS with an Administrator and Standard User Functions

       While using this system I have noticed that when some other similar machine with this system seems to want an uneven non match. All mine are updated. I personalized the power scheme and desktop and not sure that the other wants it to be
    its subordinate. Does the administrator administrate over other administrators. He or she would set the restore point instead of the standard user. While the both somehow believe their personal documents are at least somewhat private. Sure there is not
    equal power on both sides.
       Could the other administrator please leave our administrator to do his own non dirty work?

    Can some one suggest how to install discoverer 10g administrator.
    What are it pre & post requirements?.
    Is it required to install discoverer 10g administrator even after installing Oracle Business Intelligence 10g Release 2? If so why?
    How we can configure / integarate 10g administrator with
    (a) Oracle Business Intelligence 10g Release 2 (10.1.2.0.2)
    (b )Oracle E-Business Suite Release 11i.

    Discoverer Administrator needs Windows 2000 or XP or 2003.
    You can install it indepedently of Oracle Business Intelligence.
    Once you install Disocverer Administrator please browse the Oracle Developer Suite documentation - http://download-uk.oracle.com/docs/cd/B25016_04/doc/dl/bi.htm
    These docs should help you in getting started in setting the Discoverer metadata up:

  • Can't connect after changing BI Publisher Administrator password

    I have a single machine instance of OBIEE 10.1.3 on Windows. All elements have been working fine and I have been able to successfully sign on to:
    1) BI Publisher
    2) Dashboards/Answers
    3) BI Administrator
    However, today I decided to change my 'Administrator' password in BI Publisher for good order's sake. And now after making that change I get an error reading:
    {color:#0000ff}*'The server can not be used due to a configuration error, please contact the administrator. If you are the administrator, please consult BI Publisher user guide for proper configuration'*{color}
    With 'error detail' reading: oracle.apps.xdo.security.ValidateException
    Using the old BI Publisher password also returns an error (invalid user/password). I also stopped and started OC4J service all Oracle BI products. My BI Administrator signon still works fine.
    I've read several posts about failed connections like this and ran across one that implied that characters in the new password such as *, #, $ will create problems. Unfortunately my new password does contain some of these characters {:&gt;0 and I suspect this may be the issue My question: What is the least complicated way to back out of this situation and simply restore my sign on? I'm totally focused on data architecture and reports on this single user system right now.     The password in xmlp-server-config.xml is encrypted. It looks (similar) to this:

    I tried changing the encrypted password to my password but got a java sign on error.
    I then modified the last block in CredentialStore.xml and restarted the BI Server and OC4J but I still get the 'oracle.apps.xdo.Security.ValidateException' error when signing on to BI Publisher. Here's the entry with the (dummy) password which
