Adobe Cloud Price Increase

I only use Photoshop and Lightroom, and my monthly subscription is going up from $30 to $50.  I have been unable to find anywhere on the Adobe website to send a complaint.  There seems to be no way to penetrate Adobe's defenses against customer contact.  I found an online chat option but after 1/2 hour of waiting it simply dumped me back to the bottom of the queue.  Does anyone have an email address for an Adobe customer service employee who is fluent in  English?  Thank you!!!

With as small as the CS5 > CS5.5 upgrades were, and the previous announcement of a .5 version increase per 12 months, I can't see the half versions being considered a full version, nor would I choose to believe that Adobe could innovate to any noticeable degree by releasing full versions in a 12 month cycle.  It would be, in my mind, akin to Firefox, whom at around version 4 started coming out with full versions every 2-3 weeks (it felt).  They are now at version 20, seemingly treating major version revision numbers like they were minor versions.
Adobe hit consumers with a 1-2 punch, first taking away their upgrade options (again, I understand Adobe's moving away from the ability to have a piece of software qualify for upgrade when it was many versions behind, but I still feel a 2-versions back is more than respectable without forcing your customer base to shell out money, especially if they DO plan to decrease the product cycle timeframe)
Secondly, they put together some horrible ala carte functionality where once you hit 2 applications, you might as well get all 17.  How skewed is that?
I understand the mentality, why buy 1 at $1 when you can get 2 for $1.75.  But to really entice the consumer and provide as wide an array of solutions to their needs as possible, Adobe could have EASILY done a proper ala carte system where 1 product was relatively expensive, but as you added more products, you saved more money.
As per your article indicated, single applications are inherrently expensive.  But with the Design and Web bundles being merged (now providing me with more applications that I don't need), there simply is no way to affordably get yourself the applications you want or to stay within a respectable budget.
There's something sinister about the Cloud.  How can you offer $50/month for EVERY application you make (ie, the Master Collection, a bundle far too expensive for many customers) and then NOT offer any type of alternate plan? And on top of that they say "Your upgrade pricing policy is now revoked.  1 version back, or you might as well pay full"
I don't think you can compare Office to CS.  For what Cloud charges per year, you can have access to EVERY Office tool for the next 4 years.  If you convert what MS did with Office to what Adobe SHOULD do with the "Master Collection", they would be charging $300/year (~$25/month), exactly the price I'd be willing to pay for just 7-8 products, not even all of them.

  • Adobe Cloud Price changes from $14.99 for student edition to $19.99 at checkout

http://www.adobe.com/au/education.html  - Clearly says $14.99 for student subscription but changes to $19.99 when I go to checkout.  I have an edu account and Adobe ID with same address.  Can I checkout with the $14.99 price.

Notice the au in the link and also notice the price is A$ 14.99. Is your Adobe ID billing address and credit card for Austrlia or for the United States?

  • Are there planned price increases for renewal of creative cloud subscription

My renewal for creative cloud is pending. Are there price increases planned for creative cloud single app renewal?

I should have wrote, "I am better off, purchasing the Creative Suite 6 Design & Web Premium at $1899.00 and upgrading every 2 years at a cost of $375."
    So....
    Let's do some basic arithmatic
    CC Suite is $49.99 x 12 = $599.98 per year || $1199.76 / 2 years || $1799.74 / 3 years || $2399.72 / 4 years || $2999.70 / 5 years || $3599.68
When you compare to purchasing the Creative Suite 6 Design & Web Premium at $1899.00 and then upgrading every 2 years at a cost of $375, it only takes 4.5 years before the CC subscription begins to surpass the 'owning' the product license model. Of course, the Adobe finance people know this very well and that is why the subscription model is absolutely adored!
My graph clearly illustrates this... hopefully I don't annoy the Adobe people with this... not my intention.
I am rounding values and not taking into account regional price differences nor am I accounting for price increases.
I should add that at a subscription rate of $29.99 per month, Adobe still stands to make significantly more money, over the long term... but the mid-point is just over 9 years, rather than 4.5 years and that is a more palatable proposition... I am guessing... for most of us.
    Adobe, don't be greedy!

  • Detail of legacy license and future price increases

    Legacy Licence:
I currently have a licenced retail copy of Photoshop CS6 that would allow me a reduce rate for 12 months membership of Creative Cloud.
If I took up this offer and in 12 months time decided not to renew Creative Cloud membership which of the following happens.
    1. I can re install (or re-enter the code of) My old Photoshop CS6 and continue to use it on my desktop and laptop just as now
    2. Taking up the Creative Cloud offering terminates my license in some way to use my retail Photoshop CS6 and I will not be able to use it.
    Future price increases:
Have Adobe released a statement detailing how they propose to increase charges for Creative Cloud in future years?
Which of the following is true:
    1. Increases will be in line with inflation with no sudden large price hikes.
    2. Adobe do not rule out larger than inflation increases in cloud membership
Hope these questions dont sound too paranoid, a clear answer to both these questions will help both myself and my clients determine their response to Creative Cloud membership.

    Hi Ken,
Thanks again for the rapid reply.
I do appreciate that you may not be in the loop on this but it is a concern for myself and my clients.
The good news is that upper management will know as its their duty to plan for such things. They may decide not to let me or you know what those plans are in which case we would need to infer the likely reason for non disclosure.
Lets not run ahead of things however!, I think it only fair to allow management time and space to answer this question.
Just to clarify: current and future pricing was top of my mind when I saw the Creative Cloud offering, future price increases were a concern for some of my clients also, it is not a trivial question and is best answered by someone who does determine pricing plans. It will significantly influence the decisions of myself and my clients (and no doubt many other users) if we can get a clear understanding of price increase principals for Creative Cloud.
    Many thanks

  • 600% Price increase for educational CLP customers.  Anyone mad?

As many of you may know, Adobe killed maintenance contracts for CLP licensing on the first of the year.  I work at a small college, and as part of the CLP program, we ordered licenses for Production Premium, as well as a 2-year maintenance contract for $150 per seat.  For that $150, we get 2 years of upgrades for Production Premium, whenever they are released.  That works out to $6.25 per month, per seat.  It was because of this great pricing, we were able to get budget approval to use the Adobe suite of products for my Digital Media department.  Adobe even sold us on this plan because it "allowed us predictability in our budgeting."  Now, that is gone, and my department is really screwed as a result.
I've been going several rounds with Adobe on the phone, trying to get anyone to explain to me how they can justify yanking the rug out from the educational market by discontinuing our maintenance license. Whenever I ask for an alternative for our Production Premium maintenance contract for our college, they keep reading the same script about Creative Cloud for Teams. That sounds great, except for the price. It's $40 a month per seat for this service. We are currently paying $150 for two years of maintenance licensing, which works out to $6.25 per month per seat. When I tell them that we can't afford a 600% price increase, they keep reading the same line about Creative Cloud not being a single product, and that we get cloud storage, blah blah blah. No real explanation of why they are sticking us with a six-fold price hike. Are there any other educators out there who are as infuriated as me? For each student, over the course of their 4-year academic career, that's an extra $1600.

As per the other thread, the customer also has a Muse subscription and the renewal email he received with a price of £11.11 + VAT was for this subscription not the Photography Plan.

  • Price increased with no explanation. trying to cancel now and can't get in touch with support.

how can i cancel my account? the price increased and i have no idea why. i want to cancel account and can't get in touch with anyone in support. my account shows that i have a free cloud membership ... so nothing to select to cancel ... but I've been using for more than a year AND getting charged to credit card for more than a year. Anyone know what the hang is going on and/or how to cancel?
    thx

The monthly charge was $30/month for the first year and went up to $50/month or something similar so the price increase was not without explanation you’ve just forgotten about it or never read the small print when you signed up, which is understandable.
Not having an active subscription could be that you’ve already successfully cancelled the plan, somehow.  The important thing is whether you can see any billing and/or payment transactions associated with your AdobeID, and whether you’ve been getting monthly e-mails when each payment is made or when the subscription renewed—like I do.
It’s the weekend in the US.  You may have more luck with this sort of issue during normal business hours weekdays in the US when the most Adobe staff are at work in the US.  I mean if there was some sort of data-glitch for your account then weekend staff in India may not understand enough about how everything works to get it figured out.  At least you got some answers and it being an introductory price.

  • Why is there an upgrade link on my adobe cloud page when I already have a full membership?

When I log into my adobe cloud, at the top left side of the window it has three links.  One is "files", one is "Apps" and one in red "UPGRADE".  I have a full membership for at least 6 more months, and although I have the introductary price, I purchased it with the understanding that this was a full membership.  Can Adobe remove this link?  It really seams to distract me when I think I'm not getting a full version of software, and like today have wasted some valuable working time simply on trying to find out how to contact Adobe without speaking to someone for an hour.
Oh yes, and also when I click on APP to upgrade,(lets say, as in today, Literoom)  the two links under each software icon now says "try" or "learnmore".  (Although it seems like I have full versions of software downloaded.)  I could have sworn at one time it was "download" and "learnmore".
If I'm not getting my full version software then this cloud stuff is for the birds and it's not going to work for us faithful Adobe consummers.

I have confirmed you have a paid membership. You are getting the full version of all the software included.
What happens if you sign out, clear the cache and cookies in browser, restart the browser and sign back in? Do you still see the Upgrade link?

My Premier Pro software that I get from Adobe Cloud subscription, no longer RENDERS.  How can I speak with Tech support to remedy this problem?

For several hundred productions, Pr CS6 worked perfectly for me.  Now, for some unknown reason, when I attempt to render video, the render progress window continually shows more and more frames to be processed.  Therefore when I get to 80% rendered it drops back to 70% and increases the total frames in the render.... over and over, so that I never get past 99% rendered... regardless of how long I let it process.

The creative Cloud Connection has been suspended for a few weeks while they work on improvements for the upcoming launch.
Yeah, but lets not sugar coat it. Adobe was providing customers with the Cloud storage "service" as a beta version and marketing it as a "feature" for subscription sales, allowing people to work with files via the Cloud and share work with Clients etc., all the while customers were paying full price to be part of this so called "preview" beta program.
More can be read here about the "preview" fiasco: http://forums.adobe.com/thread/1203580?start=80&tstart=0
As far as improvements, they better get it right when they relaunch because more instances like what just happened will be even more absurd than the problems and issues customers already paid to be apart of.

  • Significant price increase for UK Photography Program subscribers on the way?

See the discussion over in the Lightroom forum:Photoshop Photography Program UK Price Increase
Anyone else hearing anything about this by email (my subscription renews in December so too early for me as yet)? Adobe don't seem to making much public and there's nothing on their main UK site that I can see. I appreciate that Adobe were never going to keep the price at the same rate forever, but bumping it up by 21% or so in little over a year - whilst apparently not doing so for US customers? - is likely going to lose a lot of that goodwill they recovered pretty quickly. And being secretive about it isn't going to help either.

  • Enterprise Adobe Cloud

Is there any plan for an enterprise version of adobe cloud?

    http://www.adobe.com/au/products/creativecloud/buying-guide-membership.html
    Creative Cloud for organizations
Later this year, Adobe will release Adobe Creative Cloud Team, a version of Creative Cloud membership specifically for organizations. Until then, Creative Cloud Team Ready gives companies immediate access to all the CS6 tools and more, plus it serves as an onramp to Creative Cloud Team when it's available.
Volume licensing customers can take advantage of the Creative Cloud Team Ready offering through Adobe’s Transactional Licensing Program (TLP) which is based on a one-year term agreement and is available for purchase through any Adobe corporate resellers. Customers who choose this option will automatically be transitioned into Creative Cloud Team membership as soon as it becomes available later in 2012.
