ADS configuartion error
Hello All,
I am configuring the ADS in our ECC 6.0 system . I am facing two issues :
Issue 1:
I had completed all the steps for configuring ADS in the system. But when I run the Adobe form builder test from sfp transaction for the test form "FP_TEST_00" I am getting an error when executing the test function module for that test form saying :
"Exception SYSTEM_ERROR
Message ID: FPRUNX Message number:
Message:
ADS: com.adobe.ProcessingException: Problem accessing d(200101)
What might be the issue???? We configured the Basic authentication and not SSL.
Issue 2:
Our J2EE is pointing to the client 001 and 800 is the ABAP development client .
We had created a RFC destination by name "ADS" connection type "G" as part of the ADS configuration .
IN SM59 when I do a test connection on both clients ADS Rfc destination is working only in client 001 (J2ee client) and not working in 800 client In client 800 it's telling the error " SR000 : ICM_HTTP_CONNECTION_FAILED".
What might be the issue in 800 client?
Thanks & Regards
venkatesh
Dear venkatesh,
Issue 1:
Have you performed the necessary configuration in visual administrator also....the configuration in visual administrator are more crucial...
Issue2:
The RFC "ADS" is for the java client (001) to connect to the respective service....it is not for the Abap client...thats why it is failing for 800....
Regards,
Siv

Hi,
Our BC group reviewed every note on SDN regarding ads rendering problems. I am trying to create an offline PDF form (ready for input - optional), but we are still not able to find a proper solution. ADS service trace (not whole... it is rather large) and source of my test report are included.
Report FP_PDF_TEST_00 executes successfully - result:

ADS configuration error - PDF form not displaying for Java WebDynpro
Hi Experts,
Sub : Problem with configuring Adobe Document Services
We have installed .. NW2004s SP12 on HP-UX OS.
As of now all the services are working fine, recently started configuring "Adobe Document Services", followed all the instructions given in the guide.
Environment :
=============
- Configuring ADS Webservice for "BASIC" Authentication, not for SSL
- Poratl (AS JAVA) and BI (AS ABAP) are running in different systems.
- Portal using UME as the data storage.
- OS is HP-UX
Configuration Check for Interactive Forms in Web Dynpro for Java
=================================================================
1. Checking the User and Password ---
http://<server>:<port>/AdobeDocumentServices/Config -- the system displays the version number of the Adobe document services in the response area.
2. Configured Webservice for Basic Authentication -- success
In the process of testing this configuration -- i've developed a Java Webdynpro interactive form and deployed into my DEV server (NW2004s Sp12).
Unfortunately, form is displaying in my sneak preview version (Nw2004s SP9), getting error when deployed into Dev server - NW2004s SP12 on HP-UX.
We haven't installed ADS separately, making use of ADS comes with the default installation.
Error :
=======
java.net.SocketTimeoutException: Reatimed out
com.sap.tc.webdynpro.clientserver.adobe.pdfdocument.base.core.PDFDocumentRuntimeException: Failed to UPDATEDATAINPDF
I found that the following directory is empty in DEV server ... /usr/sap/EPL/JC03/j2ee/os_libs/adssap/XMLFormService, but not in sneak preview version.
Please do let me know to solve the problem.
ThanksThanks for quick response.
Installed Reader in my PC, i can view the deployed interactive form thru sneak preview, but getting the following error when running the same application thru my development server.
java.net.SocketTimeoutException: Reatimed out
com.sap.tc.webdynpro.clientserver.adobe.pdfdocument.base.core.PDFDocumentRuntimeException: Failed to UPDATEDATAINPDF
I've installed Adobe Reader in the client PC not is the server system.

Hi,
the ADS installation stopps with the error message:
"java.rmi.RemoteException: Cannot deploy application com.adobe/AdobeDocumentServices..
Reason: Errors while compiling:
Compilation process error : CreateProcess: null\bin\javac -J-Xmx256m ..."
Java_Home in the environment variables and in the Path is set correctly (J2SE 1.4.2_12 SDK ).
I have read the other messages with similiar questions but haven't found an answer to my question yet.
Does anyone has any idea what to do ?
Thanks in advance,
Lisbeth

could you please help me in this please
Thanks & Regards,
ArunI had same problem
I made a mistake in VA that insted of destination system i used java system SID for the connection FP_ICF_DATA_<SID>.
now i changed the connection to ABAP system in VA . FP_ICF_DATA_<SID>.
Example : lets say your java system is TTS and your ABAP system is TTR
initiall i configured FP_ICF_DATA_TTS in my java system by using VA but this is wrong.
then i changed to FP_ICF_DATA_TTR with client information and user information. and this is worked for me.
i made sure the ADS users are working on both the systems and these users are created as service users insted system users.
now my ADS services are working fine -
hello Gurus,
We wanto to configure ADS but we have some issues that made the ADS doesn't work. our system is SAP ECC 6.0 with EhP 4 on HP-UX - Oracle:
The issues are:
====================================================================
Issue 1
RFC connection ADS was automatically generated during the installation. But when I try to test the connection with ADSUSER, I get the below error.
Status HTTP Response 403
Status Text Forbidden
Duration Test Call 81 ms
Accordong to SAP Note 1177315 - ADS RFC destination test return 403 - 404 code, I execute ABAP report FP_PDF_TEST_00 instead of using SM59 connection test.
Issue 2
Report FP_TEST_00 does not work. I get the error:
ADS: SOAP Runtime Exception: CSoapExceptionFault : SOAP(100102)
Issue 3
Report FP_CHECK_DESTINATION_SERVICE doesn't work when I test it by checking the "With Destination Option".
In Visual Adminstrator, when I try to test the below URL in Services --> Destinations:
http://<server>:<port>/sap/bc/fp/form/layout/fptest_00.xdp_
I get the OK response.
Issue 4
When I click on security provider from Visual Admin, groups:
the group ADSCallers not show the user ADS_User but if I see the user the groups is show.
I am not sure what how to resolve this.

hi
I am trying to connect the ADS which is configured in SAP Netweaver 7.4 (Portal) from SAP ECC server . When i try to test the connection using SA59 Transaction using the following program FP_TEST_00, i am getting the following error. can any one let me know what is the issue. Required destination is created in Portal for ECC system its working fine.
ADS: SOAP Runtime Exception: CSoapExceptionTransport :(100101)
Message no. FPRUNX001
Diagnosis
An error occurred when Adobe Document Services (ADS) was launched.
System Response
Error message
Procedure
When troubleshooting, follow the steps described in SAP Note 944221.
First check the connection to ADS. You can use the program FP_PDF_TEST_00 to do this. From SAP NetWeaver Release 7.0, the program FP_CHECK_DESTINATION_SERVICE must also run successfully (both with and without the checkbox selected on the selection screen). If this program does not run successfully, there is a error in the configuration.RCA for above issue
Possible causes are that the configuration of Adobe document services is incorrect, there are errors in the form or the printer configuration is incorrect.
Please Refer This note : 944221
Thanks,
Rahul Yedapally -
if i execute adobe form in tcode sfp there is a soap error with adobe document services
Hi Vijay,
I doubt about your ADS configuration. Can you please check the following to know whether ADS is properly configured in your system or not.
There are couple of programs to test the ADS connecticity for ABAP side.
Program FP_PDF_TEST_00: When this program is executed it returns ADS version.
That means the connection is working fine.
Program FP_TEST_00: A demo pdf-based print program, returns pdf output when executed.
If you want to test the ADS connectivity for Portal side,
then use the link that you mentioned (http://<portal_hostname>:51000/AdobeDocumentServices/Config) .
Click and proceed the Test process until you see the ADS version (some where in the output).
IF you are able to see ADS version, it means that the connectivity is fine.
Thanks

Hi,
I am working in c project, When I am trying to approve the phase I face the error given below.
I have done all spro setting corectly then also I am facing the problem
You cannot begin approval pl approve without an approval document
Message no. DPR_APPROVAL025
Diagnosis
The approval document for approval pl approve could not be created.
System Response
The system cannot begin the approval.
Procedure
Check in Customizing for Collaboration Projects whether a print form for the approval document has been assigned to the project type of your project, by choosing Activate Forms per Project Type . The print form must be active.
Contact your system administrator.
Procedure for System Administration
Check the print form you are using.
<b>When system enviroment is 4.7 r/3 and c project suit 4.00 it works fine.
when we upgrade the 4.7 to ecc6.0 that error comes.</b>
<i>ABAP stacks needs connection to ADS to display the form. So we need to create HTTP Destination on J2EE where ADS is installed.
can you guide me how to check that ABAP stacks connection to ADS & how to check HTTP connection with J2EE</i>
THANX
SUNIL JAWALKARhi ,
this is late reply but can solve others problem.
assigne copy of role SAP_CPR_PROJECT_ADMINISTRATOR and generate it .
also check for following settings
1) Please set the print form DPR_APPROVAL_HIER for the phase type in customizing:
SPRO -> Collaboration projects -> Structure -> Define Phase Types
2) In cProjects, you have to assign the print forms to a specific project type - in your case.
SPRO -> Collaboration projects -> Basic Settings -> Forms for Printing and for Project status reports -> Activate Forms per project type.
PDF Print Form:
Please enable the flag for DPR_APPROVAL_HIER for the project type. And deactivate the flag "Status report" for DPR_APPROVAL_HIER.
Smart Forms Print Form:
Don´t enable the smartform DPR_APPROVAL_HIER for the project type.
As with cProjects 4.00 the smart form approval document is no longer supported, the PDF Print form must be used instead
and note for PDF settings 944221

Folks,
We are trying to Configure ADS on SP14 and when we try to Configure the credentials( PK12) , and<b><u> /usr/sap/<SAPSID>/SYS/global/AdobeDocumentServices /TrustManagerService/trust/credentials directory</u></b> is missing. We are only able to see <u><b>/usr/sap/<SAPSID>/SYS/global/AdobeDocumentServices/lib</b></u> this directory.
Thanks
ManishHello Manish,
Your ADS Installation might not be correct.
You can try creating the mentioned directory structure and try if it works.

Can you help me understand what I am doing wrong?
Thank you in advance,
ShawnHi Shawn.
I am not able to repro this issue. I copied and pasted your SOAP request into SoapUI, used my own credentials + AccountId, ran it, and the operation returned successfully. Not sure what to suggest other than to double check whether a different operation
might have thrown that error. Which programming language / environment are you using?
By the way, since you are using OAuth (AuthenticationToken header) you can remove UserName, Password, and ApplicationToken from the request headers. For more information see
MSDN:
f you specify UserName, Password,
and AuthenticationToken,
the UserName and Password are
not validated. Authentication would succeed or fail based solely on the value of the AuthenticationToken,
even if the UserName and Password represent
valid credentials.

ADS configuration wizard has errors in CE 7.2?
Just installed CE 7.2 (JAVA only) and deployed Adobe Document Services. I tried to use the configuration wizard for ADS and 3 steps errored out for the following reasons:
STEP: MAINTAIN ABAP TO ADS CONNECTION - ERROR: JCO_ERROR_FUNCTION_NOT_FOUND: DEST_EXISTS
STEP: CONFIGURE LOGICAL PORTS FOR WEB SERVICE CONSUMER PROXIES - ERROR: Not able to load Function FPRFC_CONFIG_LOGPORTS (cause:Function template FPRFC_CONFIG_LOGPORTS could not be retrieved.).
STEP: CREATE CONNECTION DEPENDENT CONFIGURATION (FPCONNECT) - ERROR: Not able to load Function FPRFC_CONFIG_FPCONNECT (cause:Function template FPRFC_CONFIG_FPCONNECT could not be retrieved.).
Has anyone used the configuration wizard successfully in CE 7.2 for ADS?
Does anyone know what these errors mean?
Thank you!I am closing this. I found out that you can only use the wizard if you have an ABAP+JAVA double stack system. I did the configuration manually and it worked.

Error running Adobe Document Services
When trying to display a form, we get the following error (from the log):
#1.5#005056B02A1A003500000001000002F800041CF15AB0F77A#1157722841432#com.adobe.AdobeDocumentServices#com.adobe/AdobeDocumentServices#com.adobe.AdobeDocumentServices#ADS_AGENT#723#SAP J2EE Engine JTA Transaction : [051ffffff9dffffff8e0001]###9e322ea03f3f11db906f005056b02a1a#SAPEngine_Application_Thread[impl:3]_28##0#0#Error#1#/System/Server#Plain###Required stream: "PDFDocument" not found.#
Has anyone run into this? I have a feeling that the Server for call of ISR forms URL is not correctly set in QISRSCENARIO.
Please help.
Thanks,
ErikaAll,
The solution is as below: (I followed the instructions and was able to test ADS configuartion)
the problem is that the report fp_test_00 is available only in german
language.
So please do as followed:
1. Go to transaction SE37 and execute function module
SYSTEM_INSTALLED_LANGUAGES
2. Please go to transaction SE38, create a local copy of test report
FP_TEST_00 to ZFP_TEST_00(you need developer key)
Open the report in CHANGE mode and replace line
fp_docparams-langu = 'D'.
with lines
fp_docparams-langu = 'E'.
fp_docparams-country = 'US'.
Then save, activate and run this test again.
Also if you installed ECC6.0 IDES system you can test ADS with FP_TEST_03
