After downloading new version of firefox, i didn't like it and attempted to restore my system to a previous time and version of firefox. Now firefox won't open, even the old version isn't there anymore.

I want to get firefox back, keeping all of the bookmarks.

Download a fresh Firefox copy and save the file to the desktop.

Your bookmarks and other profile data are stored elsewhere in the Firefox Profile Folder and won't be affected by a reinstall, but make sure that you do not select to remove personal data if you uninstall Firefox.

Sounds like iTunes Match may have gotten disabled for some reason. Pull down Store > Turn On iTunes Match and add your computer again.

What matters is the version of iPhoto you have on the different machines. Can you tell us what they are, and what exact error message you get.

That message means that you have to restore the iOS software because something went wrong. Follow the instructions here. I hope that you have a backup.

Safari.1.1lion when i open a new window it opens as the old version without the reading list button or the download button why is that ?

so i downloaded the new safari version safari.1.1lion and i installed it and i love it but when i open a new window or i close safari and open it again it opens like the old version (the safari leopard ) it doesnt have the doenload button or the reading list button . it only opens as the new version if i restart the computer why is that.

I did find the problem... It was the DivX Plugin for Firefox. I just found I wasn't using it. I went to Add/Remove Programs and uninstalled it. FYI I am running Windows 7.

It does seem to occur randomly i.e. independent of note size or age. Very annoying. I guess it can only be retrieved from iCloud before the next automatic back-up? Does anyone know why this happens and what can be done about it to prevent it in future? Is there a limit to how many note pages this app can store (presently I have about 70). I have started to email every note I make on my iPad to myself to be on the safe side. Is the Notes App really so unreliable? Anyone else with the same problem?

Oddly enough, the size/format of some names can make odd things happen with network Time Machine backups, and at least one of yours may be involved. See #C9 in Time Machine - Troubleshooting (or use the link in *User Tips* at the top of this forum).
Do your self a favor, though. Even if you get this working, do not depend on these backups 100%. There's a reason Apple doesn't support it -- it's not reliable.

Be careful with using system restore as it only restores some file, so you end up with a Firefox installation that has a mixture of old and new files.

Upgraded to Firefox 8, but now it won't open-- even in Safe Mode. It crashes upon opening.

My husband installed Firefox 8 today. Since then, he can't open Firefox - it tries to open but immediately crashes and asks to send an error report. He's researched your help pages, tried to load Firefox in Safemode, but same thing occurs. Has rebooted numerous times. He "Restored to an earlier time in the day" using Norton GoBack after uninstalling Firefox and then reinstalled it. Same exact problem occured. The restore option is no longer available.

I had the exact same problem. If you happen to have an old version of Roboform installed try closing it and then running FF. Roboform was making mine crash to the error report every time.
The newest version of Roboform does work in FF8.

I just bought a jail broken iPhone and then did a factory reset on it. Now it won't get passed the loading screen. Is there anything I can do without the jail-breaking software?

When I bought it it was working just fine. There was no sim in it when I got it. I went into the settings and reset the phone back to factory. The phone rebooted itself and now, when the loading symbol is done loading, it goes away for a second and then is right back. It just keeps rebooting over and over until it's dead.
My computer won't find it and the charger isn't charging it anymore.

I restored my computer setting back to where I was running 3.5.13 but it still doesn't work...some files must have been deleted when I upgraded that weren't put back even when going back to the older version but I have no idea what to look for or what to do even if I find them. Using system restore can create problems as well as solving them. I have seen system restore destroy a Firefox setup. The installation may be OK but to be sure perform a clean install

I can't replace an old version of Firefox with a new one that I just downloaded. It says I don't have permissions to do so, and the old version can't trashed.

I've downloaded the new version, and when I go to drag the Firefox icon into the Applications folder, I'm prompted to replace the old version. When I do, it says, "The operation can’t be completed because you don’t have permission to modify 'Firefox'." I've looked everywhere, and every help forum says to just drag Firefox into the Trash. I've tried that, and it says that Firefox can't be trashed. I don't know if this means anything or not, but there is a small lock in the bottom left of the Firefox icon in my dock.

Try to drag the current Firefox application to the trash if you can't replace it.
