After replacing ink cartridges, my inkjet C6215 started en endless shutdown/wakeup cycle. Help!!!?

After replacing all the cartridges in my C6215 all seemed well. I didn't use it for a few weeks (It's in a rarely used room. The next time I went in that room, the machine was trying to startup, but each time it did, it immediately shut down again, with a message saying it had been illegally shut down. I tried re-seating each of the cartridges to no avail. I finally unplugged it just to keep it from wearing itself out until I got an answer.  Anyone have any idea what could be wrong?

  • Blurred Photo Printing after replacing ink cartridges

    Hi everyone,
First post on here! I have a PSC 1355, which has always printed very good quality photographs, until yesterday. The old HP ink cartridges (Tricolor and Photo) were both low on ink so I replaced them with new HP ones (identical models) and ran the alignment procedure. There were no messages to say the alignment failed, but now the photos are printing blurred as if the cartridges are not aligned. There appears to be a slight overrun of ink outside the border of the print, which suggests misalignment to me.
I put the old cartridges back and aligned them, but they now print blurred too. I reprinted a picture I'd previously printed to compare - the original print was pin sharp, but the new one is very blurred. I've cleaned the cartridges using the utility but no change. Paper is good quality HP photo paper, the same as I was using before. I haven't changed any other settings, print preferences, etc. Any ideas anyone??
    Thanks.

You did get each cartridge in the correct place?

  • Printer screen frozen after replacing ink cartridge

My Cyan ink cartridge was empty. I replaced it. The printer screen is stuck on the message "Genuine HP ink cartridges installed" with an "OK" at the bottom. Does not respond to pressing OK. The printer is clunking and chunking for a while, then does nothing. The message never changes. I've powered off and on multiple times. Unplugged the power cord from both ends. Tried to reinitialize software, but can't do it because the screen is unavailable for me to perform the tasks necessary. Help!? (Please)

  • After replacing ink cartridges, printer prints colors differently. Help?

I have a Canon Pixma mg6320.  I replaced the yellow cartridge to no problem.  However, after I replaced the magenta cartridge, all of my reds look terrible.  I am printing something with some deep red-oranges, but all of them come out pure magenta.  The magenta color even shows up in the print preview!  What is happening??  This has cost me a daw of work.

    Hello sergent6013,
    Welcome to the HP Forums.
I see that after changing the inks in your Deskjet F2280 that the printer is still showing they're empty. I will try and assist you with this issue.
Here is a document: Blinking Lights, that may be of use to you. It would guide through steps and causes as to what my be going on based on indicators on your printer.
Also, this document: Faded or Dull Colors in Printouts, has a few steps that might be helpful too.
Try a combination of both, and see how things go. If you need further help, or have questions please let me know.

  • 8500A won't print since I replaced ink cartridges.

Hi.  Ever since I replaced all the ink cartridges (with genuine HP parts)  on my printer it won't print except very faintly in two of the colours, and not at all in the other two.  I've cleaned the printheads, and tried to align the printheads.  Aligning the printheads failed.  Why would the printer suddently stop working after replacing the cartridges, and what else can I do to fix the problem?  I found a page about replacing the printheads, but can't find any info any where about where to buy these parts or how much they cost.  I tried to find a repair place near me but the search came up with no results.  Any help you can provide would be appreciated.

  • Replaced ink cartridges and no ink shown on new print outs

I have a HP 8500 a9110 printer. I just replaced all three color ink cartridges (black cartridge is still good). After replacing, I tried to print and all that comes out are white print outs with no color or very slight tone. I attempted to go Tools and clean and align heads. The clean worked but received failure on align option. I turned off and unplugged unit and also removed and put back in new ink cartridges. I also removed the both heads and cleaned off with soft cloth. Has anyone experienced this issue before. Any assistance is appreciated.

    Hi vegasbuddha,
Sorry to hear that you're having problems.
Are you using HP genuine cartridges? I'm asking because using any other cartridges could result in many hardware
problems and issues also in ruining the printer.
If that's not the problem, can you take a look at this link and see if you've missed any steps in replacing the cartridge?
    Replace Print Cartridge
After replacing any cartridge, the printer should automatically print out a diagnostics page.
Also, cleaing the cartridges could help in this case. The instructions to do so are in this link:

Which printer do you have specifically? HP makes several eprinters and I want to make sure I get the best information for you that I can.
Also, have you tried doing a self test print to see if the issue is hardware related versus being software related?

  • IJ Canon Printer Utility disappeared after I replaced ink cartridges.

I just replaced the ink cartridges with ones I ordered from eforcity and it prints fine, but I haven't been able to locate the printer utility box ever since which means I haven't been able to check ink levels and clean the nozzles. This is really frustrating because I need to clean the print nozzles now. Every line on my printouts is streaking (half dark / half faded). Help! Thanks.

  • Won't print alignment page or any page after new ink cartridges installed.

I just installed a new color and a new black ink cartridge into my HP Envy 5531. I have never had an issue with this printer before, owned it for 2 years. After installing it, it tells me to print an alignment page, I press ok. The alignment page comes out only blank. So they cannot scan the alignment page. Now my printer prints like it's running low on ink, but it says that it's full with color and black ink.

    Hi @Aly9008,
I would be happy to help you work towards a solution. I understand you have installed new cartridges, the levels are good (full), but your print quality is poor. Please use the following document to troubleshoot the issue; Fixing Print Quality Problems for the HP ENVY 5530 e-All-in-One and Deskjet Ink Advantage 4510 e-All....
If the issue persists, I suggest calling us. Don't hesitate to call, although the printer may be out of warranty, the cartridges could be in warranty; therefore, there wouldn't likely be a fee for the phone support. We will, at our option, either replace products under warranty that prove to be defective or refund the purchase price.
We could even determine after troubleshooting that it is a problem with the printer, in which case they may offer you a discount on a newer model.
The number to call is 1-800-474-6836 for Canada and US, or you can Contact HP Worldwide.
To find the “Warranty Ends” date, look in the following table for the date's location on each product. The date follows the YYYY/MM/DD or YYYY/MM format, where YYYY indicates the year, MM indicates the month, and DD indicates the day.

  • Bad Yellow Cartridge message received after replacing Cyan Cartridge

Printer tells me Cyan Cartridge needs replacement --and I replacement.
instead of OK message Printer reports that Yellow Cartridge is missing or damaged  this was a full cartridge and had been working fine before.   Printer --Officejet  6500A Plus
    Any solutions to this problem?

    Hi Vince31,
I understand you have an Officejet 6500A Plus that is telling you to replace the yellow cartridge after replacing a cyan cartridge. I'm sorry to hear this has been happening, but I will do my best to assist you in resolving this issue.
I would recommend that you follow this The Following Ink Cartridge Appears to be Missing or Damaged document as it will walk you through ensuring everything is seated properly as well as cleaning the electrical contacts on the cartridges. If you get to Step Four where it advises to replace the cartridge, I'd like you to try something a little different. Remove all 4 cartridges and pull the power cord from the rear of the printer and don't plug it back in until about 30 seconds has passed. Once you've plugged the printer back in wait for it to say the cartridges are all missing or damaged. I'd like you put the yellow cartridge in first and then close the access door. The screen should then say that just the other 3 cartridges are missing. If that is the case then simply re-insert the rest of the cartridges and wait for the printer to quiet down before trying to print. If the cartridge continues to give you an error, call HP Tech Support for your area and inquire about getting the yellow cartridge replaced (as long as it's in warranty).
Hope this helps, have a great day!!

  • Replaced ink cartridge yet ink does not print

I have an officejet pro 8500a plus.  Recently replaced the blue inkcartridge and no blue prints.  Level shows full and I have cleaned the print heads, removed, shook and reinserted ink cartridge - no change.

Hi emeyer, and welcome to the HP Forums.
I see you are experiencing print output issues.  I would like to try and assist.
I would recommend removing the cartridges and performing a power reset.  Disconnect the power cord from the printer and the power outlet, then wait 60 seconds. After 60 seconds, plug the printer back in. Ensure you plug the printer directly to a wall outlet. Make sure to bypass any sort of surge protector or power bar.
I would also suggest following this document on Fixing Ink Streaks, Faded Prints, and Other Common Print Quality Problems.
If that doesn't resolve the issue, I would recommend contacting HP directly. You can utilize this website to learn how to contact HP appropriately, based on your region: Contact HP Worldwide.

  • Failure to print alignment page after changing ink cartridge

I just replaced the tricolor ink cartridge in my ENVY 5530 printer and after installing the new cartridge the unit is stuck in a loop of "Now printing alignment page..."  however there is no noise indicating that the page is being fed.  Attempts to cancel the action also result in a prolonged  "Cancelling ..." but with no action. Based on other comments in this forum I have:unplugged the unit.removed all ink cartridgesRestarted the unit - where in I receive a message that I should use the power off button to prevent damage to the unit.reinstalled the cartridgesAttempted to print the alignment pageHowever the cycle simply repeats itself.Any assistance would be appreciated - the unit was functioning perfectly fine before it simply ran low on ink and used the ink cartridge sent by HP Ink service as the replacement unit. Many thanks in advance.

Hi SolomonI, Welcome to the HP Forums.  I see that you are having an issue after you have installed new ink. I see that you have done numerous steps in the attempt to resolve this issue. You stated that you unplugged the unit from the power source.  Please make sure that you have the printer power cable connected directly to a wall outlet and not a power bar/strip. Here is a document that uses a LaserJet printer as an example but it is meant for HP products in general. Please click on the following link that explains the Issues when Connected to an Uninterruptible Power Supply/Power Strip/Surge Protector. One thing to try is to by pass the alignment page and see if the unit will print from a copy or print from the computer. Let me know how you make out.  I will be happy to research other options if needed.  Cheers,

My printer was brought outside the philippines. The printer uses Ink number 121. However i could not buy here in our place the said ink cartridge. Can i use the number 60 as replacement? Please advice, i cannot print anymore coz i my printer runs out of ink.

    Hi,
You need to contact your nearest HP support centre.  A call agent can help you to rectify your situation so that you can use the HP 60 inkjet cartridges in your printer which was purchased in the Philippines.
I am presuming you are in the USA so if you go to this link (http://welcome.hp.com/country/us/en/contact_us.html) you should find a US customer support number that you can call for assistance.
