Aggregate SUM in DSO object

Hi all.
I have a flat file data source with detailed records:
Field1      Field2       Amount
1                22           100
1                23           200
2                24           220
3                25           150
3                26           600
I want to get aggregated results by Field1 in my DSO:
Field1      Amount
1              300
2              220
3              750
How and there I can do these aggregates during the data load process into DSO?

go to the transformation and go to the field amount and choose the Aggregation as summation.now the values wld be gettint added automatically.

                                       here data is coming from the multible tables.that why i am planning to create custom defined data source based on view. here how can i calucate dso is suitable or cube is suitable.
suppose dso is suitable how can i decide which on is the data field and which one is the key field.
                                    how can i decide how many dimensions are needed here.and which chara are suitable for that dimensions.

Multiple data loads in PSA with write optimized DSO objects

Dear all,
Could someone tell me how to deal with this situation?
We are using write optimized DSO objects in our staging area. These DSO are filled with full loads from a BOB SAP environment.
The content of these DSO u2013objects are deleted before loading, but we would like to keep the data in the PSA for error tracking and solving. This also provides the opportunity to see what are the differences between two data loads.
For the normal operation the most recent package in the PSA should be loaded into these DSO-objects (as normal data staging in BW 3.5 and before) .
As far as we can see, it is not possible to load only the most recent data into the staging layer. This will cause duplicate record errors when there are more data loads in the PSA.
We all ready tried the functionality in the DTP with u201Call new records, but that only loads the oldest data package and is not processing the new PSA loads.
Does any of you have a solution for this?

Hi Ajax,
I did think about this, but it is more a work around. Call me naive but it should be working as it did in BW3.5!
The proposed solution will ask a lot of maintenance afterwards. Beside that you also get a problem with changing PSA id's after the have been changed. If you use the posibility to delete the content of a PSA table via the process chain, it will fail when the datasourcese is changed due to a newly generated PSA table ID.

hi praveen,
when u create the transformation for the DSO, it asks for the source. in that you enter your datasource, then you get the datasource fields on one side and the rules in the middle and the DSO objects on the other side. whichever field of DataSource you want to refer in tranformation rule, just connect that field to the rule for the required object of the DSO.

Interactive Report Need total of aggregate (sums) where break format used

I have an interactive report that uses break formatting. When I do an aggregate (sum) for the Quantity Column I get the sums for each campaign_id (used for the break format column). This is great. However, at the bottom of the report I need a grand total for all campaign ids (a sum of the sums) in a new row at the bottom of the report. Is this possible?
I can't paste a screenshot here to show but her is a simple one column example - I can't make the columns stay lined up but I think you can see what I need.

Cannot Collect BI Content DSO object for Installation to Version A

Hi Gurus,
I tried to simulate the installation of BI Content DSO object 0BBP_SCA. When I grouped by "In Data Flow Before" or "In Data Flow Before and Afterwards", I cannot transfer the selected object to the collected column. An error message says that Version A of DSO OBBP_SCA does not exists. But when I use "Only Necessary Objects" or "In Data Flow Afterwards", I am able to collect the objects. Why is this so?

Activate all the necessary objects and collect them in a single request and check for any inconsistencies or inactive objects in the requests before transporting it to the QA or PRD in SE03.

Reporting on Alternate Hierarchy master data (HR-BW) thru DSO object

I have a quick question. I would appreciate if you know of any direction to approach this.
We have a hierarchy in a external system that we want to bring into BW as alternate hierarchies. The hier nodes are a bunch of leagacy hierarchies and the leaves will be 0COSTCENTER (R/3 values). After loading this hierarchy in BW, we need to manipulate and add 0POSITIONS to the 0COSTENTER hierarchies from R3 and store this back as another hierarchy (with 0POSITION as leaves below 0COSTCENTER). Now we need to report on this hierarchy and get stats like # vacant position, occupied position, etc.
Have you seen anybody doing this kind of manipulation, reading hierarchy data into DSO object, reporting, etc?
Any idea will be appreciated.

Delete Certain Data in PSA or DSO Objects

Currently we loaded the data into the DSO Objects, and we wanted to delete certain data in the PSA, when I click that particular records, i can only change it but cannot delete it. So is there anyway that i can delete certain data in the psa? Or in DSO Objects?

You cannot delete certain data from PSA............If you want to any erroneous request...........you copy the datasource.......go to RSA1 >> Find the datasource >> double click on it >>click on the PSA button on the top >> there in the button you will get one icon which is similar to the icon of the infopackage group in 3.5...........click on it..............there you will get the request...........make the QM status red and delete it....................
For DSO you can do selective deletion :
Goto manage on the ODS/Cube and in there goto the Contents tab. Hit the trash can button that says selective deletion. In there you'll get a selection screen based on which you can delete the data. But be cautious when using this option in case you need to reload the data as you'll have to load exactly the same selection criteria while loading that you used for deletion.

Delete Running Request in DSO Objects using Process Chain

hello...currently i have one process chain that load the data from 3.5 datasource into the dso objects in BI 7.0. When i trigger the process chain and when there are no data from the source system, the dso will having the request in yellow color. And when comes to data activation in the dso, it will givin out error and stop the loading of data into the infocube using DTP process. I am just wondering is there any item that can be used in process chain to delete the yellow request in the DSO Object.

Hi,
I gues you can solve this problem in a much simpler manner, with out having to add any
new process step or any thing.
In your SAP system, the system wide setting to deal with a load if it fetched zero records
is to consider it as incomplete i.e. mark it as YELLOW request.
You just have to change this setting, and make the system to consider it as a complete
request i.e GREEN, so that it gets activated with out fail.
Select your data load -> Open Process Monitor / Goto RSMO -> Menu -> Settings ->
evaluation of reqest-> if no data is available from request, here you have to select successful

MDX - Aggregate/Sum/Manual Filter

I'm having trouble replicating the cube through MDX.
I need to show the aggregate Cash Inflow Excluding some of it's child.
I have a "Cash Inflow" hierarchy like this.
Cash Inflow                               $100
-Inflow Application                      $30
-Inflow Adjustments                    $20
-Inflow Claims                            $10
-Inflow Rollover                          $40
Im my cube I will untick the "Inflow Rollover" in the filter. I will get Cash Inflow with a value of $60.
How do I write an MDX, so that when I call "Cash Inflow", it will return a Cash Inflow value excluding the "Inflow Rollover"?
My basic query is below, I need to modify the Cash inflow part. So that it doesn't return a total value of $100, but a subset value of $60 (exclude "Inflow Rollover")

Hi,
It's not clear where to find the "cash Inflow" aggregation in your mdx query. You will have to exclude it and include a custumor total.
An example of a "MDX - Aggregate/Sum/Manual Filter" using an attribute hierarchy and excluding one element from the aggregation:

CO-OM-CCA: Actual - Line Items DSO Object

Hi Friends,
As per SAP NOTE 55356, we are going to introduce 0CCA_O09 DSO between 0CO_OM_CCA_9 (Delta)--> 0CCA_C11 Cube Data Flow to extract current data.
The DSO needs to be operated in mode "Overwrite" in order to delete redundant data by the ODS Object before updating it into the InfoCube.
My question is Do we need to worry about initializing the DSO or we can just use it on going-forward basis. Will there be any impact on the Cube data if we just use the DSO without initializing it with all the data from 0CO_OM_CCA_9 (INIT plus Delta's) ?
Also the InfoObject 0VALUATION is not part of the Key field in the standard DSO (0CCA_O09). But the SAP NOTE 55356 recommend to use this InfoObject in the Key Field. Shall I drag this InfoObject into the Key field from Data Field in 0CCA_O09 or just use it the way it is being delivered ?

Transport of DSO object fails into BW test system

Hello BW experts,
I have tried transporting a request from the BW development system into both BW test and BW production system. The transport was successful in the production system, but failed in the receiver system giving the following error.
InfoObject 0DIVISION deleted from DataStore object RZBIOIHL
Message no. RSDODSO114
Diagnosis
InfoObject 0DIVISION was deleted for DataStore object RZBIOIHL. This is not allowed as DataStore object RZBIOIHL contains data...
Actually this DSO contained data in both the production as well as test systems. Please clarify what could have gone wrong.

have you made any midifications like removing objects from DSO which you already sent to testing system.
delete the data(DSO) in testing system and make fresh transport request through re acitvate DSO and move to testing system.hope this will help u

Measure aggregate sum not summing

I have many universes, and for all universes I have set measures to sum, where appropriate. However, this seems to work sometimes, and not others. I can't work out when or why it does or doesn't! Does anyone have experience of this?

Hi Louise,
Let me try to explain in a bit more detail...
The a) aggregation is done by the group by clause in the actual select that is sent to the database,
so it differs depending on what the user selects when building the query.
But it will do this using the aggregation function you specified in the select.
So if you have
measure object sales sum(sales.amount)
dimension objects country country.id and store store.id
Then the select for a query containting the two objects sales and country would have a group by country.id
The select for the query containing all three objects would have a group by on country.id,store.id
You can verify the actual group by by looking at the generated SQL in the query builder.
The b) aggregation is done according to what is specified in the advanced tab.
You see this tab when you are in Designer and open the object properties dialogue.
Its the second tab in it. (first is the select and where box, second it the aggregation (top part) and list of values (bottom part).
So say you selected all three objects and then created a table with only country and sales, the sales figures (that were queried per store, per country) will be aggregated according to that 2nd tab to the country level.
Note that when you use an aggregation function in the select, Designer will make a best quess as to the aggregation wanted and pre-fill it. So for the sum() function, it will also use sum as aggregation in 2nd tab.

P.S. looking at the actual generated SQL will also help you determine if you have more that one select done to fullfill you dataprovider. If you have more than one, it is only acceptable if the differences are in measures only. If not, you will get more than one cube back from your query, without any control over how they are synchronized. If so you can try multicube to get the results you would expect (i.e. seen as one big cube i.s.o. more than one).

Unable to View DSO objects while creating universe on SAP BW objects

I am able to create universes on top of Cubes and Queries on any infoprovider but while making connections I am not able to see the DSO in the OLAP list.
I would like to know how to connect to DSO directly? I am able to view the queries based on DSO's but not just DSO's.
Please give me your inputs.

Hi,
OLAP universes support DSO only exposed in BEx queries, not directly.
Data Federator will release a SQL driver to access SAP BW data that will provide a direct access to DSO.
DSO are not OLAP, that's why it is recommended to use a SQL access rather than a MDX access.
