AirPort Utility 6.0 for windows?

"which is available as download for both Mac OS X and Windows" It should support windows but I dont see any update? are in on is way soon?

AirPort Utility 6.0 for Lion has dropped some features and functionality over previous versions.
Even if it might be on the way in a Windows version, I'm not sure why you would want to drop features and functionality over what is already available.

  • Which version of Airport utility works best for Windows 7?

We've downloaded version 6, but an error window keeps coming up. Do I need an earlier version? How do I get rid of this version?
    Thanks.

If you are running Windows 7, you need AirPort Utility 5.6.1 for Windows - Support - Apple
Delete the 6.x version that you downloaded, as it will not run on a PC.

Can anyone tell me where I can get/download the airport utility for Windows XP software, as I was not given the Windows version of the software, when I bought the 802.11n airport base station.

I downloaded the Airport Utility 5.6 for OS X Lion and when I finish installing it sends a message that says "the instalation failed contact your software provider" And seems like thats the solution so I can use my time capsule.
    Thanks

Thanks. Please review my post above to see that we asked five basic questions.
Looks like we got two answers.
Can you please provide answers to the other questions that we asked?
    1)  Are you trying to connect your Time Capsule to your modem using an Ethernet cable?
    2)  What is the make and model number of your modem?
    3)  Are you still using Lion (10.7.5) as you indicate in your profile, or have you updated to Mountain Lion or Mavericks?
I understand that things appear clear to you there, but we cannot read your mind or see your network, so we only know as much about your problem and your network as you can tell us.

  • HT1515 which version of Airport Utility is needed for my Airport Express A1084????

How can I find out which version of Airport Utility is needed for my Airport Express A1084????

I have this issue, too. The problem with the advice from Saito_Chickara is that Mavericks (I'm on 10.9.2) does not allow you to run AirPort Utility 5.x. So for those of us on Mavericks, what can we do? I have yet to find a solution. This is really frustrating.

  • What happened to "Allow Ethernet Clients" in Airport Utility 5.6 for Lion?

I recently upgraded to cable internet and in reconfiguring my network I have run into a problem using my old AirPort Express (model A1084) as a wireless bridge providing an ethernet connection to my TV.  I have an AirPort Extreme base station creating the wireless network--all systems green on that.
When I go to the wireless configuration in manual setup to add the Express to the existing network, the "Allow Ethernet Clients" checkbox is nonexistent.
I know the functionality exists because I had the network configured in such a way with the previous ISP with no problems.  The only difference is that now I am running Lion on my MBP, so I downloaded Airport Utility 5.6 for Lion because 6.1 was frustrating.
Anybody else have this problem or know of a workaround?

    Hey Bob...
You seem to be the go to guy for "vintage" airport express base station questions.
My issue is similar to the above. So are you saying if you have an A1084 Airport Express there is not an option for Allowing Ethernet clients? I fired up my old MacBook Pro so that I could access an older version of Airport Utilty, but when I tried the other Wireless Modes I was unable to see the "Allow Ethernet clients" check box.
I have an original Apple TV with a bad wireless card that can no longer connect to my wireless network. Apple wanted $169 to replace. So stupid...probably costs them $2. Anyways...Apple Genius suggested connecting via ethernet to my airport express as an option to keep my old Apple TV connected. The only reason I'm not buying a new Apple TV is because I utilize the red and white audio jacks on the back for my outdoor wireless Brookstone speaker, and the new Apple TV's do not have these ports.
On a side note, I'm a 25 year Mac user, but I'm considering the Amazon TV instead of a new Apple TV if I cannot get my older one reconnected to my network. Do you have any opinions on the subject?
    Thanks for your time...
    Chad

  • IPhone Configuration Utility 2.1 for Windows keeps popping up

Although I have already installed "iPhone Configuration Utility 2.1 for Windows," and another use of my PC has done so as well, Apple Software Update keeps urging me to install the iPhone Configuration Utility. As a matter of fact, I can confirm it was installed twice under the "Installed Updates" pane.
Does anyone know how to troubleshoot this, or do I just need to ignore that update?
    Thanks.

i have the same issue... evry 2 or 3 days it pops and i install it again ...
after the installation... the program searches for updates again and says there is new version.. it is the SAME version over and over again ..

  • Airport Assistent Update 6 for Windows?

By when will Apple issue also an update for Windows 7 for Airport Utility version 6.0 ? It was released on January 31, 2012, but ONLY for Mac OS X Lion.

Sorry, but no one on a user to user forum will have the information to be able to tell you what Apple might do, and when they might do it.
Since AirPort Utility 6.0 dropped a number of functions and features......if it were me.....I would not really be too anxious to install it.
If you are an advanced user, chances are you will continue to use the full featured AirPort Utility 5.5.3.

  • Airport software version 5 for Windows not available for download?

    Hi, Apple.
    You're kidding, right?
I can download the Airport 5 update for Windows, but that update won't run if AirPort 5 isn't already installed.
Where am I supposed to get it in the first place? My laptop is very tiny, it doesn't have a CD-ROM drive.
Don't bother replying to this.. By the time you read this message I will have already popped the CD in my Linux machine and copied the files over via SSH. Then I'll run the update.
In the future, please make things easier for me.
Furthermore, how about you update the Airport (N) itself so that it will add local machine's hostnames to the embedded DNS server? I mean, heck, you already have features that let me reserve IPs based on MAC address or DHCP client ID... Those machines in the least should be easy to resolve.
    Cheers,
    --Dave Loyall

I suspect that Apple wants us to buy the Airport Extreme, or replace our Airport Expresses with Apple TVs. The AX is a wireless G/B product, and the new draft is N ... which is better for streaming larger media files.
Anyway, you can try this for a Windows system:
    1. You will need a program called Less_MSIerables. Google it.
    2. Download it to your desktop and unzip that file (it should end up in your unzipped file folder)
    3. Now, download Airport Extreme software.
    4. Run
    5. A window will open that states "This Update requires AirPort Version 5.0 to be Installed".
    Don't exit from this window.
    6. <Vista> Instead, go Start ->start search and type in %temp%. Enter. <XP: use Run instead of Search and type in %temp%. Enter.>
    7. You will see a file folder called something like IXP050.TMP (the number varies)
    8. Open it.
    9. You should be able to see a file called APsetup.msi.
    10. Click your mouse on it, but don't open it.
    11. At the top of the window you will see the address of this file. If not, click the yellow file folder in the address bar. Copy that address.
    12. Next go to the folder in which you saved the unzipped version of Less_MSIerables
    13. In a subfolder you will see a file called Lessmsi.
    14. Right-click on this file
    <Vista Only>
    15. Go to properties.
    16. Go to compatability.
    17. Run in XP Mode
    18. Apply
    19. OK
    20. Again right-click on icon.
    21. Run as administrator.
    <Vista and XP>
    22. In the window that pops up, paste the address of Apsetup.msi
    23. You will see a list of many files, but one of the first will be APUtil.exe.
    24. Extract this file to a location that you can easily find.
    25. A file folder will appear with a name like cab#APSetup.cab1
    26. Open that file folder and you will see a file APUtil.exe
    27. Click on that file, and the admin utility will open. You should be able to find your airport device.
I suggest that you move this file to your desktop for easy access.
If you are doing this for an Apple computer, there are posts on how to do it; and I think it is a good deal simpler to do.
    Peace out.

  • Does Apple have plans to introduce AirPort Utility 5.6 for Mountain Lion?

Does Apple have plans to introduce AirPort Utility 5.6 support for Lion?  I ask as I have an older Airport Express that I would like to use for WDS and in using the AirPort Utility on my 10.7.4 Lion machine.  If AirPort Utility 5.6 is not supported on Lion, is it supported on Mountain Lion?
    Thank you.

Download AirPort 5.6 in Apple webpage and download Pacifist to install AirPort 5.6 in Mountain Lion > http://www.charlessoft.com/

  • IPhone Config Utility 1.1 for Windows:  Cert Chooser not working for SSL

I have installed the iPhone Configuration Utility for Windows 1.1 and I cannot add SSL certificates into Configuration Profiles. The Certificate Chooser opens, but there is no way for me to add an SSL certificate. Blank list and no button to browse or add a certificate.
Any solutions to this? Has anyone else seen this? I have tried repairing the installation, and uninstalling/reinstalling the application to no avail.
Sorry to open a new post for a supposedly closed topic, but the old thread does not contain any real answer...just an 'I fixed it myself' post with no description of the solution.

    Hi Aaron,
Did you open a TAC case for this?
Escalations team found a problem with the format of the xml file in a very similar issue reported in a TAC case. The format needs to be as below:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
    9905
    9.0.3
    http://server.domain.com/update/CiscoJabberSetup.msi
    or just:

  • Airport Utility 5.6 for older Airport Express on Mountain Lion?

Yesterday, I upgraded my MacBook Pro to Mountain Lion.  I was having some issues anyways, so I did a clean install.  I'm now restoring my files, and reinstalling my applications.  I went to the Airport Utility to configure my Airport Express (I wanted to also set up wireless printing now), but as I already knew, the latest version of the Airport Utility doesn't support my Airport Express's (I have 2).  When I select it, it says to download Aiport Utility 5.6.  So, I did.  However, the installer tells me that my version of operating system isn't supported, so it terminated on me.
Does anyone know what I can do to manage me Airport Express's?  I don't want to spend the money to get new ones because they work just fine (I extend the WiFi for my iPhone to get better signal outside, so 802.11N isn't going to help me there anyways).
    I appreciate any help.
    Thanks!

As an alternative to Pacifist, you may use two command-line utilities built in OS X: pkgutil to "unflatten" the flat package, and ditto to extract the Payload file inside it.
Assuming AirPortUtility56.dmg mounts to a volume AirPortUtility containing the flat package AirPortUtility56.pkg, then
    cd ~/Desktop
    pkgutil --expand /Volumes/AirPortUtility/AirPortUtility56.pkg AirPortUtility56
will unflatten the package into a folder AirPortUtility56 say on the Desktop. And
    ditto -x AirPortUtility56/AirPortUtility56Lion.pkg/Payload Payload
wil extract the Payload file inside into a folder Payload say also on the Desktop.
AirPort Utility 5.6.app is there inside Payload/Applications/Utilities.

  • Time Capsule, Airport, and Airport Utility - setting up for SBCGLOBAL

    HI,
I'm new, and relatively new to the MAC world. I have an iMac 24, 2007 year model and I have kept all the updates current. I just today purchased a Time Capsule and I would like to switch from the Linksys to the Airport attached to the Time Capsule. I tried the typical customer setup but I was not successful. Anyone that can give me some tips I'll owe you 10 cents.
I'm using sbcglobal as my ISP through a Speed Stream 5100 modem and a Linksys WRT54GS version 3. The Time Capsul is the newest and latest (I guess version 7.5). A search on the keyword sbcglobal resulted in on thread that has been archived.
    Help?

Wayne M, welcome to the discussion area!
There are several ways to configure a router to connect to your modem and internet service. During the setup of the Time Capsule in AirPort Utility, you were asked how you wanted to connect to your internet provider. Among these choices were:
Connect Using = Ethernet or DHCP
    Connect Using = PPPoE
What we don't know is how your modem is configured now. If it is configured as a "bridge" (our guess), you would use the PPPoE method to connect.
Do you recall how you tried to connect when you tried the setup?

  • Can't download AirPort Express utility setup software for Windows

I can't download any of the Windows AirPort Express setup utilities from the Apple support pages. When I search "airport express" on software downloads, I get 37 "finds" but the utilities don't download. They start (AirPortSetup.exe) but then just hang and don't continue or finish.
I can download other software, such as firmware updates, but that doesn't help me. I need the setup software.
Thanks for any tips or good links.

I disabled the firewall and anti-virus -- no help. Then I found I could download no .exe file at all, even iTunes which I do whenever it is updated -- really weird. I am at a hotel and it turns out something in the hotel's broadband service is keeping me from downloading .exe files.
I have a separate dial-up service -- I plugged in the phone line and was able to download the file -- at a 3 kbps rate, but I got it.
    Thank you for your help.
