I had the same issue after trying everything I took the battery out and poured alcohol on it and clicked all the keys constantly for awhile and it seems to have cleaned some dust or something and it's finally working. worth a try if you've had it for awhile and it's collected some couch dust.

Remote not working with Apple TV

My Apple remote stopped working with my Apple TV the other day. The light on the Apple TV does flash as buttons are pressed, but nothing happens. I tried to pair the Apple remote, nothing. I tried to pair my Macbook remote, nothing. I have even pulled the plug a let it sit for a day before plugging it back in. I have recently upgraded to iTunes 7.3.

Airplay on iPad has just stopped working with Apple TV2

As of today, Airplay on my iPad with Apps that were working (eg TED, ABC iView) transmitting video and sound to Apple TV2 has ceased working. When the Airplay logo on the iPad app is pressed it remains white, not changing to blue as it normally does.

Thanks for tip. Rebooting iPad fixed it. Apple TV seems very sensitive to connection issues. I have normally have no issues with my iMac, iPod, iPad, and Airport Express connections

HT1551 Atv3 doesnt want to finish installing update although ive tried several times, now the remote wont work with it either and when I press the remote the light on the box flashes several times, I unplugged everything but nothing works and I cant reset

my Atv3 is due for an update and ive tried several times to install it but although it downloads it never finishes installing and tells me that it wasnt possible to update and to try another time. I try every other day and it only inches forward in the progress but it never completes the installation. I was tired of waiting and I decided to keep on trying in a period of time one night until it would finally install, that never happened and Im not sure what is going on but the remote stopped working with the atv3 and when I press a button the box light flashes several times but does nothing, ive disconnected it and left it that way for over 24 hrs, ive disconnected everything (tv, internet etc) and nothing. I cant reset the atv3 through the remote either...i dont know what else to do

Thanks restoring and restarting didn't fix my problem - i have started it fresh and still it doesn't work. Basically I press ONCE on the remote, after the machine has not had any commands for 10 minutes, and the cursor skips from one end of the menu to the other - so I can't choose network or update software etc - I sometimes manage to stop it randomly in the middle of the menu if I press on a command in the middle of the cursor skipping all the menu steps...not sure what the problem is but I have basically not used my brand new apple tv since I bought it for that reason! I should call Apple support I suppose! grrrr hate wasting time with stuff like this!

TV Anywhere Remote Wont Work

My TV Anywhere Remote has stopped working. I have checked the connection for the Recever to the Card and have changed the Battery to a new one but still it wont work. Does any one have any suggestions?

Is the InterVideo WinCinema Manager still running in the systray? If it isn't, try re-starting it. If it is still running, try ending and then re-starting it.

Apple TV2 led does not work, but apple tv2 works ok - is this normal

I have an apple tv2 that seems to work ok but the led on the front does not work.. is this normal? is the led burnt out?

i have restored in via the tv menu and i have restored it via usb cable to itunes..

Try:
- Resetting the iPod:
Reset iPod touch: Press and hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button and the Home
button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Resetting network settings: Setting>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings

Remote not working for Apple TV

New unit the 29th of May. Was working great then yesterday the music started stopping and starting in the middle of a song> Tried all the things listed in the PDF help file for Apple TV with no luck. Left the power on last night and it was off this AM. Remote would not turn it on so I unpluged it, the light came on but all is get is blinking light when a button is pressed. Then the Apple window opened opened all the movies showed across the top and along with the first row of other items one can select from. But I cannot move across or up and down. The light just blinks twice.
I let it set and the pictures I have selected from I Photo for screen save started working but still no remote control.
I have a apple care case ID number but for the past 4 hours the line just rings busy. Needless to say I'm a little unhappy.
Maybe some head me in the right direction.
I have read and tried some of the suggestions on the forums for the Apple TV but with no luck.

Your Apple TV may have become paired with another remote. Hold the remote close to and pointed at the Apple TV, hold down the menu and Rewind buttons together for 6 seconds or until you see a broken chain icon on screen.

You can use the app to control the apple TV but you would need an original remote to set it up if you need to reset it. It worked fine for me with remote app on iPod Touch until I found the remote again.

Verizon Remote Wont Work in DVR Search Menu

The last couple times that I have tried to use my remote to search for a show/series on my DVR, the arrow buttons wont let me navigate or select different letters in the search field. I have to physically go up to the DVR box and use the arrows on the unit.
I already tried powering off the DVR and taking the batteries out of the remote. Still nothing works in that menu. I still have all other functions on the remote.
Anyone have any ideas?

Program silver Uverse remote to work with Apple TV

Let me start by saying that I have the second generation Apple TV and the silver Uverse remote control.
Through ATV's "Learn Remote" function, I've succeeded at setting up the Uverse remote so the basic ATV functions work (up, down, left, right, select, menu). But I haven't been able to set up my remote to do playback functions (play, pause, stop, rewind, fast-forward, etc.), which are equally important when watching anything through ATV.
I'm wondering whether the playback functions aren't working on my Uverse remote because the models of my hardware are incompatible; again I have a silver Uverse remote and 2nd gen ATV.
Has anyone else had this problem, or, better, yet, have a solution to it? If I can't program my Uverse remote fully via the ATV directions, do you know the ATT-specific directions/codes on how to get these two devices to work together properly?

Here is a work around for the S-10 vol control after you have turned on the sound bar -
The default for vol control is ALWAYS TV. To change it so that control follows the- ATT/OK-955-ENTER(lower right)
In att mode, lower the volume from 25 to 15.
Set the TV volume to a comfortable level.
Set the soundbar volume to a comfortable level.
While watching in ATT mode, the control will vary the STB volume. Yo will hear the result from whichever sound source is active - TV or soundbar.

Wifi not working on Apple Tv2

PLEASE help. This is driving me nuts!
I have an apple tv (second generation) and this morning I noticed I had no internet connection.
I've been using the wireless capability on the device and it has worked fine until just now.
I haven't changed anything on the router or the device.
When I plug it in using an ethernet cable it works perfectly, but when I try to connect using wifi it either doesn't connect at all or it will connect for all of about 5 seconds and disconnect. It is NOT my router. I have an iphone 4s, laptop, and tablet which all connect perfectly. I tried using my neighboors wireless network, with his permission of course, and I'm having the same issue. The device simply will not connect to wireless internet. It sees the network just fine, but will not connect after the password is entered. Also, since the wireless is not connecting, airplay does not work either, rendering my Apple TV useless.
Since it stopped working all of a sudden, and nothing was changed, I am thinking it may be a hardware problem.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I'm not an expert but this happened to me to and I remember that Apple Support told me to simply unplug and replug and AppleTV, thus resetting it. Worked for me!

Help remote wont pair with apple tv!

I have the newest apple tv. I recently lost the remote and purchased a new one. I tried pairing the new one and it blinks 3 times the stops. Then it starts to blink non stop. what am i doing wrong?

Unpair the old one first - by holding menu and left arrow for 6 secs on the new one.
Do you need to pair? Do you have other Apple devices in the room?

AirPlay Mirroring is supported on your Mac, but it needs OS X Mountain Lion (10.8). See > http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5404
You have two possibilities:
1. Make a backup, open App Store and purchase Mountain Lion to upgrade to this OS X. Then, you will find the AirPlay Mirroring icon at the top right of the display, on the menu bar, or on System Preferences > Displays.
2. Keep OS X Lion and use AirParrot > http://www.airparrot.com
Both options work properly, but I recommend AirPlay Mirroring as it doesn't need a third-party program

My ipod touch is still under warranty but the screen has been cracked for about 1month but the wifi has recently started to play up and wont work will apple cover this and give me a refurbished one whern i go to my appointment at the genius bar??

Very likely not. A bvroken screen is not covered by the warranty. It also shows abuse aht voaid the warranty for the entire iPod. Howecver, sometimes the Genius will exchange it at no cost. Otherwise yu will have to pay $99, $149 or $%199 depending upon the capacity,
