Hi,
The model you selected was made by Motorola and unfortunately, when this model was imported into Multisim, the comments to show what this model was designed for was removed.  Some models will not work with single rail.  I was able to find the library where this model came from and base on the comments, this op-amp model was designed for the following:
- Positive and Negative Slew Rate
- Quiescent Power Dissipation
- Maximum Positive and Negative
- Output Voltage Swing
- Input Bias Current
- Open Loop Voltage Gain
- Unity Gain Frequency
- Common Mode Rejection Ratio
(CMRR)
- Output Impedence (ac and dc)
- Output Short Circuit Current Limit
You can find the original model from here:

    Like I told another user I am no expert on model files. I have tried this file and Multisim will not recongnize it. I would recommend the following procedure if you can do it. Go into the component wizard and create a default Mosfet Using the Model Makers.. This will give you the correct syntax for the model file that Multsim can understand. If you know what the parameters mean from Pspice file then you can edit the model after it is created for you in Multisim and plug the numbers into it from the Pspice file. This should create a model that would work in Multisim. This procedure is theoretical on my part and you would have to try it to see if it works for you. It is possible that you don't have the Model Makers depending on your version of Multisim. If that is the case then we will have to try another approach.
    I do not know the meaning of the Pspice parameters (i.e what does the L=XXXXX  and N=XXXXX actual stand for). If you are unable to do this then maybe the NI Team can decipher this for you and post a model file that would work for you.
    I am going to have to study the various parameter on these files to find out their meaning  so I can be of better assistance when it comes to these model files. Right now I just don't have the time since I recently acquired a job that takes up a fair chunk of my days. I will contin ue looking into this as times permits for me.

  • SPICE Netlist Error: Unable to parse parameter name

    The history so far (using MS11):
    I tried to make a new component, i.e. the CNY70.
    Therefore I needed the simulation model. So I designed a simple subckt that I tested, and ok, it works.
    Subckt schematic exported a netlist, lines added:   .SUBCKT <name> 1 2 3 4   and   .ENDS
    This .cir file used as Model for the new part I created.
    And then....used this new part in a testschematic.....and the simulation is aborted:::
    SPICE Netlist Error in schematic RefDes 'd1', element 'ud1': Unable to parse parameter name
    SPICE Netlist Error in schematic RefDes 'd1', element '<unknown>': Due to errors, the component 'ud1' has been omitted from the simulation.
    QUESTION: what did I do wrong / what am I missing in the Subckt file????
    I looked in some modelfiles of opto-manuf. like Avago, and they all make use of V-controlled-I sources etcetera.

    Hello Capera,
    I understand that spending alot time and ending up with an error can be extremely frustrating.
    I did some further testing and it seems like I get the same error even with an empty model.
    It seems to not be purely linked to this model.
    Which specific steps did you follow?

  • Getting SPICE netlist error in schematic...: Invalid subckt definition '21' and '33' on user added component

    In some design work I was doing I needed to use a vacuum tube type that is not available in Multisim.
    After some research on how to add a component I tracked down a spice model of this part and used the component wizard to add it.
    After adding it and putting it in a circuit it will simulate fine for a few moments then errors will occur and it will not allow me to restart the simulation there after.
    Here is the spice model I'm using, and I've attached a screen cap of the error messages. Any help fixing the errors would be appreciated.

  • Modelling error in Multisim's Tektronix TDS2024 FFT option

    The user's manual for Tektronix TDS2024 mentions that a 1 Vrms signal will be displayed as 0 dB peak in the FFT view. However, when I connect a 1 Vrms source to Tektronix TDS2024 scope in Multisim, I get a peak at 3 dB. This is only possible if National Instruments is using peak value in 20 log(V1/Vref) forumla instead of the RMS value which an actual (i.e., physical) TDS2024 oscilloscope uses.
    Could someone confirm if its really a mistake or is it supposed to be like that?
    Thanks in advance.

    FFT modelling error in Multisim.ms13 ‏75 KB

    You nailed it!  In the (old SPICE) analyses everything is peak amplitude (as it is in MULTISIM's "signal" sources).  NI's additon of RMS options to "power" sources and not changing the corresponding "AC Analysis" from peak to RMS kinda added to the confusion!  It seems to me that MULTISIM should stick to one or the other for consistency and make it clear what it is!  Most EEs likely think that RMS is the "default" whereas most CSs (like the origimal Berkeley SPICE developers) likely thought peak was (as in Asin(omega)).

  • RS-485 transceiver spice model

    Multisim Experts,
    I have been on the hunt for an RS-485 transceiver spice model.  In particular the MAX489, or any comparable full duplex transceiver.  After many hours sorting through web searches I have come up empty handed.  I was able to locate IBIS models for the transceiver, but converting IBIS to Spice using Intusoft's conversion program has been unsuccessful.  I was wondering if anyone knew a good resource on how to write Spice models from existing IBIS parameters or data sheets?  Or if perhaps anyone knew where to locate RS-485 models on the web?
    Thanks for your time.

    Multisim uses both SPICE and XPSICE simulation engine and there should be plenty of resources available on the Internet relating for these topics.  Here are links where you can find the manuals:
    SPICE:
    http://esaki.ee.boun.edu.tr/~talays/spice/spice.pdf
    XSPICE:
    http://users.ece.gatech.edu/~mrichard/Xspice/Xspice_Users_Manual.pdf
    The models you sent me will not work as is, there are minor syntax issues that needs to be modified and for it to work and here is a list:
    1.  No 'Param' statements were declared but a couple of statements uses a variable as a value, they did defined variable and was commented out, I guess they expect you to manually change it.  The variables I am referring to are RTR and RTF:
    Look for these statements:
    *DEFINE {RTR}=  53.731k  ;2.68V/1.44ns
    B3 300 850 I= V(830) > 1.2   ? 0 : V(300,850) / {RTR}
    Just replace RTR with the value like this:
    B3 300 850 I= V(830) > 1.2   ? 0 : V(300,850) / 53.731
    2.                  There are many instances where xy_array were used and unfortunately, Multisim does not support this syntax and you need to split the table into x_array and y_array separately.
    For example the original model looks like this:
    xy_array = [
    +   -6.000 ,   -2.360
    +   -5.000 ,   -2.360
    +   -4.000 ,   -1.800
    You need to change it to this:
    + x_array [-6.000 -5.000 -4.000 …..]
    + y_array = [ -2.630 -2.360 -1.800 ….]
    3.                  You need to remove the some commas in the model
    Original model:
    + fraction = FALSE, input_domain = 0.0,
    Change to:
    + fraction = FALSE input_domain = 0.0
    4.                  There are several duplicate subckt names declared and you should make them unique.  I simply added an extra number at the end.
    The attached file contain the modified model and test circuit, I am not sure what this component is suppose to but I connected some power sources to it and was able to simulate without an error.
    I hope this help.

    These errors typically occur when security software interferes with the restore and update process. FollowTroubleshooting security software issues to resolve this issue. In rare cases, these errors may be a hardware issue. If the errors persist on another computer, the device may need service.
    Also, check your hosts file to verify that it's not blocking iTunes from communicating with the update server. See iTunes: Advanced iTunes Store troubleshooting—follow steps under the heading Blocked by configuration (Mac OS X / Windows) > Rebuild network information > Mac OS X > The hosts file may also be blocking the iTunes Store. If you have software used to perform unauthorized modifications to the iOS device, uninstall this software prior to editing the hosts file to prevent that software from automatically modifying the hosts file again on restart.

    If you experience this issue on a Mac, disconnect third-party devices, hubs, spare cables, displays, reset the SMC, and then try to restore. If you are using a Windows computer, remove all USB devices and spare cables other than your keyboard, mouse, and the device, restart the computer, and try to restore. If that does not resolve the issue, try the USB issue-resolution steps and articles listed for Error 1604 above. If the issue persists, it may be related to conflicting security software. If the errors persist on another computer and known-good USB cable, the device may need service.
    If neither of those fix it, then it's toast. it will have to be replaced.

    Hi ethan,
    I guess problem with SLD/SR. Did you complete SLD & SR configuration steps?
    Please see it: http://<host>:<port>/nwa -> Configuration Management -> Scenarios -> Configuration Wizard.
    See if
    1) Registering Services Registry instance in SLD
    2) Services Registry Destinations Creation
    are  not initial .

  • Xrpcc modeler error when trying to generate stub classes from a WSDL

    I'm trying to generate JAX-RPC stub classes (both client and server side) from a WSDL in which one of the message parts references a complexType element defined in the <types> section of the WSDL. Here is my little WSDL document:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
    <definitions name="Book_Def"
    targetNamespace="myTypes"
    xmlns:tns="myTypes"
    xmlns:xsd1="myTypes"
    xmlns="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/wsdl/"
    xmlns:xsd="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema"
    xmlns:soap="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/wsdl/soap/">
    <types>
    <xsd:schema targetNameSpace="myTypes"
    xmlns:xsd="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema">
    <xsd:element name="Book" type="xsd1:BookType"/>
    <xsd:complexType name="BookType">
    <xsd:all>
    <xsd:element name="authors" type="xsd:string" maxOccurs="10"/>
    <xsd:element name="preface" type="xsd:string"/>
    <xsd:element name="price" type="xsd:float"/>
    </xsd:all>
    </xsd:complexType>
    </xsd:schema>
    </types>
    <message name="runMyPgm">
    <part name="book" type="xsd1:Book"/>
    </message>
    <message name="getPgmResponse">
    <part name="result" type="xsd:string"/>
    </message>
    <portType name="MyPgmIFPortType">
    <operation name="runMyPgm">
    <input message="tns:runMyPgm"/>
    <output message="tns:getPgmResponse"/>
    </operation>
    </portType>
    ... Binding stuff
    </port>
    </service>
    </definitions>
    I've tried many combinations of defining my complex type and input message and whenever I run xrpcc using this WSDL as input, I get a Error: Modeler error: invalid entity name: Book (in namespace "myTypes"). Sorry if this is a dumb question, but what am I doing wrong in my <types> or <message> definitions to cause this error? I've had some luck generating stubs when the part types are all simple types, but I've not had any luck with getting a <complexType> definition accepted by xrpcc. Thanks in advance for any help you can offer.

    Yes you can specify type mapping in configuration file and probably this will solve the problem, but I've never tested this approach. Perhaps I'm not advanced user. Actually the serializerFactory and deserializerFactory are a little vague for me:(

  • Problem on "error: modeler error: model error" by using wscompile

    When I use wscompile to generate the client stub, I get the follwoing error:
    error: modeler error: model error: invalid entity name: "BaseFaultType" (in name space: "http://docs.oasis-open.org/wsrf/2004/06/wsrf-WS-BaseFaults-1.2-draft-01.xsd")
    What is the problem mean? And What I should do with it?
    Thanks a lot.

    Hi,
    he already restored 30%, so I think we can safely assume at least some stuff did work.
    Allthough I agree that since the controlfile is saved last, this is a good test.
    Seems to be either a dirty tape (clean drive, repeat) or a faulty backup ( ugh ).
    When you retry after cleaning, you can use -f (fillup) to save the restore from retrieving the files it allready got.
    Check the initSID.sap for the backup  & restore commands and esp. the bs= / ibs= / obs= options.
