Hi Experts,
We have two postable to GL depreciation area i.e. 01  and 25 and depr area, 01 is assigned to leading legder and deprceiation area 25 is assigned to non leading ledger. Depreciation area 25 is to post deprciation only.
in account determination (AO90) for accumulated depreciation in area 01system is giving msg to have reconciliation account but in depr area 25 it is asking not to have accumulated depreciation account as reconciliation account.

    Hello SAP GURUS,
The billing document no. 90175064 had been generated but the document has not been posted in respective G/L.
what I understood i would like to share with you that-
The accounting document was not generated, because system did not found respective  GL for condition type ZDIC (Customer discount). The condition type ZDIC is only applicable in case of selling of  Molten Metals. But due to same batch no.(B17746) for both the Pig Iron & Molten Metal, system wrongly picked the condition type ZDIC in this case as well.
While in the subject, i also wish to inform you that this is the case of last year (23.07.2009) when logic for selecting customer discount was Batch specific.

  • G/L Account assigned to Asset's Account determination.

    Hi All,
I have a asset number 13858 and sub-asset number as 0 and Acct determination as 40000. The G/L Account assigned to Acct determination is 10600010. I can get all the details by going to AS03. I am looking to get G/L Account from table where Asset number = 13850 and sub-asset number  = 0 and acct determination = 40000.
    Thanks
    Raghuram

    Hi,
You can not have this information from AO90 since those accounts are based on Account determination not the Asset Number..
You need to look at the posting table BSEG using transaction..select the field ANLN1 - Asset into the selection screen and enter 1 to 999999999999 in the asset interval and execute...you will have the GL account and asset number both...

  • Changing Account Determination in Asset Master

    Hi,
We had a Asset class for which the Asset Determination was modified, But the New account determination was not updated for the existing Assets. Is there any way we can update the Account Determination for existing assets,  I have around 10,000 Assets and I am looking for options other than creating New Assets and transffering the balance.
    Regards,
    Raj

    Hi Raj,
Please note that account determination is configured at the asset class level in the T-Code AO90.  There is no separate account determination configured for asset master.
When you change the account determination at the asset class level, it will automatically get affected to all existing asset masters.  Yes, if your question to transfer all the balance from old GL account to new GL account, try following procedures.
    1) Deactivate reconciliation settings thru T-Code OAMK.
    2) Transfer all balances from old GL account to New GL account thru FB01/FB50.
    3) Activate reconciliation settings thru OAMK
    Hope this helps

  • Changing an asset class determination account

I have an asset class numer 233 this class has a determination acount numer 1 configured in its class master record. One asset was created using tx as91 with this class and 6 months depreciation was run (tx AFAB).
Now I need to change the asset class account determination from 1 to 2. Is this posible ?, how ?.

One you have assets with postings in an asset class you can no longer change the account determination.
As an alternative you can create a new asset class with the correct/new account determination.  Than you can transfer the assets from the existing asset class to the new one using transaction code ABUMN.  If you have many assets to transfer than you can use the mass change functionality.

  • Segregation of FAGLL03 data on asset class or account determination

    Hi friends,
in fixed asset config my down payments for assets go to a single gl for all asset classes, at FAGLL03,I have some data related to this gl, is it possible to break this data on asset class or account determination, kindly help me to resolve this issue.
    thanks,
    nagaraj.j

    Hi,
In down payment line item, you can get the asset no only. Using this asset number you can get the asset class and its account determination from the other sources.
Any this exercise can be done outside SAP. (In Excel)

  • Assets Account- Purchasing Tab GL Account Determination

    Hello Experts,
I was wondering if someone can explain me how the Control Account "Assets Account" works on the Purchasing Tab of the GL Account Determination?
Does anyone has some information, articles on this?
    Looking forward to your reply,
    Thanks

    Hi,
The Asset account is used whenever you are  purchasing a Fixed asset. While creation of a GRPO there is no JE passed. The account that we map in Control Account "Assets Account" acts as an offset account for the vendor which gets hit while creation of AP Invoice. This account is nullified as soon as the payment for the AP invoice is made. Hope this helps.
    Thanks,

  • Company Code (Fusion) Asset Accounting Legacy Migration

    Hi SAP Experts
We are going to initiate a project where a company code Y will be fusionated to a company code X
Therefore only company code X will prevail at the end on the month.
This migration is made within the fiscal year (april 2015) with a calenda K4 (january to december)
Some balance migration is planned, however we have the following scenario:
Company code X has asset accounting component working since 2006
Company code Y does not have asset accounting component within SAP, posting are made directly to SAP (and depretiation calculation posting are made outside SAP)
We are planning to "transfer the values" from company code Y -> to the asset acccounting component from company code X
Due theese assets are not "new assets" but "legacy asset" how it should be the right steps?
We have identified two options so far:
    a) As a "legacy transfer", (AS91) transaction (create legacy data)
Some SAP documentation refers to take care about the timing to made this; in our case is within the fiscal year
Also a "data transfer date" or "take over date" must be defined on table V_T093C_08 in order to identify a value date for the legacy transfer
IMG > Asset Accounting > Asset Data Transfer > Parameteres for Data Transfer > Date Specification
There are several prerequisites such as company code status allowed for data transfer, set the above date for data transfer and I think also set a period where the legacy company code finish their posting.
We suspect this is the second or third time the company code X has transfer legacy data.
Do you have experience managing this option within SAP?
    What issues must be considered
We do not want to impact the existing fixed assets values and previous asset transfers values with our new asset transfer within the fiscal year.
    b) As a "acquisition without a vendor" ABZON
I think this option does not required so much customizing, usign this option I think I should put the last value for the legacy asset accounting and set the initiation date for the new depretiation posting accordingly.
I suspect the disadvantage here is do not have a historical data, however may these is the secure path.
I notice using ABZON transaction I need to set an account determination call "Contra account: Acquisition value" that is defined on table V_T095_MASTER or customizing transaction AO90
For this option we are guessing which type account must be.
I think it should be a balance account (due no vendor is implied) however we are not sure about this point
Many thanks for your inputs and ideas
    Fernando Luna

    Hi Fernando Luna
For my perception, option 1 makes sense because you may need to check historical values as well as depreciation posted in legacy system. As you highlighted, the key point to use AS91 to take over legacy assets are below customizing:
IMG: Asset Accounting -> Asset Data Transfer -> Parameters for Data Transfer -> Date Specifications ->
=> Specify Transfer Date/Last Closed Fiscal Year
=> Specify Last Period Posted in Prv.System (Transf.During FY)
Above setting affecting legacy take-over only, it wouldn't affect existing asset including previous taken-over legacy assets. After finishing legacy asset migration, you may need to execute depreciation recalculation at company code level.
    Hope this information is helpful.
    Regards
    George

  • Where we have to open and close posting periods in asset accounting

    hi sap gurus
can anybody give where we have to open and close posting periods in asset accounting
    thank you
    venkatareddy

    Hi Venkatareddy,
You make specifications for fiscal years and posting periods in the SAP R/3 System in Customizing for Financial Accounting. This is done in the fiscal year variant in the global parameters of the company code. These settings are, in general, also binding for Asset Accounting. The depreciation periods in Asset Accounting then correspond to the posting periods in Financial Accounting.<b> It is usually not necessary to create a separate fiscal year variant for Asset Accounting.</b>
The period control in the depreciation key determines the start and end of depreciation when asset transactions are posted . The period control determines the relationship between the calendar period in which the asset transaction is posted and the depreciation period.
These calendar periods are independent of the posting periods in Financial Accounting. The only restriction is that the beginning of the first calendar period and the end of the last calendar period defined in a period control have to match the start date and final date of the fiscal year in Financial Accounting.
Kindly let me know if this useful for you

  • Asset Accounting Doubts

    Hi Experts
Can you please tell me how we can calculate tax for assets while doing depreciation.
what are the month-end & year-end activities in asset accounting.
what is the use of assigning cost center in AA.

    Hi Venu,
Calculate taxes while running depreciation - Not sure why there is requirement to calculate taxes for depreciation run. If it is tax depreciation (as per income tax laws), you can have a separate depreciation area and assign depreciation key as per the law.
Month end and year end closing activity -  You need to run depreciation monthly. If you have a non leading ledger, run ASKB to post to non-leading ledgers. Year end you need to run AJAB to close the year and then AJRW to do a fiscal year change.
Use of assigning cost center in AA - We do this to determine the responsibility center for the asset (where location is not used) as well to post depreciation to the correct cost center.
    Hope this helps.

  • Incorrect posting in asset accounting after legacy asset transfer

I have an issue in Asset accounting.
The depreciation key used is LINA (with a base method 0009 and Dec. bal. method – 001 straight line depreciation)
    My question is:
An asset was acquired 02/01/2005. It has an expected useful life of 1/11.
    Under AS93.
I see the asset  ***. acquisition value 205,695.00
    Accu.ord. deprec  - 78,784.06
The asset was transferred to SAP  at 03/31/2007.
Now In aw01n  I see the following:
Legacy data transfer Per – 3 Ord. deprec – 10,143.87
    Posted Per – 4 – 13,364.13
    Posted 5 – 5877.00
    Posted 6. 5877
    Till 8th month posted 5877.
The posted values are wrong. Since it was transferred to SAP it has a useful life
of 1 year. At this rate it will go for 3 years.
What can I do to rectify this error?
    Why is it posting 5877?
    Thanks,

    Hi Roma,
The useful life has to be the Total Useful life of the asset.
Since your useful life is less than the expired usefull life the system is calculating depr. for after the end of useful life, which for base method 0009 is curbing.
    <i>Curb
With depreciation beyond the planned useful life, the depreciation percentage rate can be derived, not only from the planned useful life, but also from the actual useful life. This method produces a declining-balance effect instead of a straight-line effect (curb).
Use Base Method 0007, this does not curb.
    Kind regards
An asset that originally had a useful life of 10 years is depreciated in year 11 by 1/11 = 9.09 %, in year 12 by 8.33 % and in year n with 100/n %.
When you use below-zero depreciation with a curb, the system determines the percentage rate, after the end of planned life, to the exact period and not to the year.</i>

  • G/L Account Determination - meaning of accounts

    Hi!
I have several questions regarding the account types in the G/L account determination.
I do not know for which transactions the following accounts will be used:
    Sales
    -) Overpaying/Underpaying Account
-) Down Payment Receivable (I've simulated various Down Payment transactions but the system always used the Down Payment Clearing Account and the Down Payment Interim Account)
    -) Open Depts
-) Down Payment Tax Offset Account (Is it a separate tax account for Down Payments - If so It can be theoretically the same account  that will be used for output taxes on conventional A/R invoices?)
    Purchasing
    -) Assets Account
    General
    -) Automatic Reconciliation Diff.
-) Ex rate on def tax account
Regarding the Inventory accounts I have some lack of understanding in general. I think it is important to separate between a drop ship and a warehouse procurement process?! If I buy goods and post the quantities on my warehouse by issuing a Goods Receipt P/O I do not understand the journal entries in the background.
I would be please if someone can help me out by explaining me the aim of the above listed types of account.
    Thank you and best regards

    I've closed my old thread.
I put all this questions into this one thread as I did not want to spam the forum with 8 separate threads and all questions are concerning the G/L Account determination. Anyhow I will re-post my questions regarding the procurement process and the down payment issue
Joseph, thank you for this link but frankly speaking the most answers from that pages are insufficient for me as it is not explained in detail. For example I do not understand how comes to an Automatic reconciliation difference.
    Thank you and best regards
