G/L account determination - purchasing tab - accounts payable window
Dear users,
Can any one help me by defining what is "assets account" in accounts payable window in purchasing tab of G/L account determination ?
It shows liability control accounts while the account type is mentioned "Asset accounts" I am confused in this.
Thanks and regards,
Farhan Sufi

Ignore the verbage. The accounts you need to select on Accounts Payable accounts from the Liability drawer. Please check Control Account on the AP GL account you want to use.

Assets Account- Purchasing Tab GL Account Determination
Hello Experts,
I was wondering if someone can explain me how the Control Account "Assets Account" works on the Purchasing Tab of the GL Account Determination?
Does anyone has some information, articles on this?
Looking forward to your reply,
ThanksHi,
The Asset account is used whenever you are purchasing a Fixed asset. While creation of a GRPO there is no JE passed. The account that we map in Control Account "Assets Account" acts as an offset account for the vendor which gets hit while creation of AP Invoice. This account is nullified as soon as the payment for the AP invoice is made. Hope this helps.
Thanks,
Joseph

Sap report purchasing and accounts payable
Dear gurus,
I intend to create a vendor payment report that would create clarity on the operations in purchasing and accounts payable.
Which tables would be idea to create such report?
BR,
Tolu(Only some of the most important tables)
For MM purchasing, check
- EKKO Purchasing Document Header
- EKPO Purchasing Document Item
- EKBE History per Purchasing Document
- EKKN Account Assignment in Purchasing Document
(Also look at logical database BRM, EBM, ECM, EKM, ELM, EMM, ENM, ERM, EWM,MEPOLDB, PSJ definitions)
For FI-AP financial account payable
- BKPF Accounting Document Header
- BSEG Accounting Document Segment
- BSIK Accounting: Secondary Index for Vendors
- BSAK Accounting: Secondary Index for Vendors (Cleared Items)
- BSIS Accounting: Secondary Index for G/L Accounts
- BSAS Accounting: Secondary Index for G/L Accounts (Cleared Items)
- BSIM Secondary Index, Documents for Material
(Also look at logical database BMM, BRF, BRM, KDF definitions)

__________________________________________I maybe getting confused about your requirement but I interpret it as you need the value for source account FCGB.123456 to be posted to two different target accounts P10000 and F10000 with the F10000 posting being sent to the fodder member in C1. Create a logic account that catches FGCB.123456 and give it a unique name i.e. L_FGCB.123456. Then just map that account to F10000 and fodder.
If its just as case of the source account FGCB.123456 reequiring mapping to a different account than all the other accounts in your LIKE mapping then just map that account explicitly. -

I would like to understand the relationship between purchasing and accounts payable. Can you tell me the data flow explaining the relationship? Can you tell me what I should know from a BW reporting perspective?

OTL and Purchasing /Account payable
Anyone have done OTL integration with purchasing/Account payable?
I saw a module called Procurement Services and it said it can get data from OTL Timecard for managing the payment to contractor. I try to get some info about it.You can send the Time from OTL to Purchasing, but you cannot directly send the time to AP. OTL is not having integration with AP directly.
So you cana implement OTL with the service procecurment and from there you can transfer the data to AP.

Tracking Purchase orders to accounts payable
What would be the best way for an auditor to use ERP to ensure the accounts payable are completely recorded. how can he/she efficiently match up purchase orders with accounts payable? is there a way one can ask the ERP a query and it can return any purchase orders that DO NOT have a corresponding accounts payable?
Hi,
When you use G/R or service entry sheets the open values are on your g/l account GR/IR. The completed ones are cleared out. -
Dear Experts,
Please can any body explain about SAP Accounts Payable Workbench and when it is used...Please share any material for this....
Regards
SantoshThe SAP accounts payable workbench allows you to manage your electronic invoicing (e-invoice) processes in one central area.
All electronic documents which don’t match automatically against the Purchase Order, are blocked due to price / quantity differences or that need to be coded will be visible within the user-friendly Workbench. It shows at a glance the status of the document and what actions have been taken or are required to progress through the posting cycle. The journey of any document sent around the business is fully documented and can be reviewed within the AP Workbench, giving visibility throughout the business for the AP department. -
Accounts payable: Reconciliation field(s)
Dear all,
I have posted the same thread in the Materials Management forum as I am not sure where it belongs. As I am not very familiar with vendor payments, I hope you can help me with this question.
As per our accounts payable department, when they send a check to a vendor, they need to reference the payment with the bill of lading number.
But the bill of lading is not available in the payments standard transaction: F110. So I was wondering: which field(s) (which are printed on the check) are usually used by vendors for payments reconcialiation?
Thanks,
AnnabelleHi Annabelle,
When you enter an invoice with reference to a purchase order, the system suggests data from the purchase order and the goods receipts against the PO (for example, vendor, material, quantity still to be invoiced, expected amount per item, and terms of payment). You can overwrite these default values if the invoice actually submitted by the vendor contains other values. The system checks whether your input is allowed. In doing so, it may issue warning or error messages.
You can also assign the invoice items to a purchase order using the number of the delivery note or bill of lading, provided that these numbers were entered at the time of goods receipt.

Accounts payable against ohter than goods receipt
dear expert:
in case of our business scenerio after receiving goods against purchase order we have to reconcile the received quantity and which ever is then confirmed should create accounts payable. please suggest how can we maintain this
regards
javedhi boss:
for a particular material type eg"print panel" our business requirements are
1. we create a subcontract PO for print panel equal to our sales order qty.
2. we send cut panel as a BOM component at actual qty [maximum cases more than the purchase order qty]
3. we receive print panel against the PO which might be equal to or more than PO qty.
4. we will pay the bill only
in case of over delivery :[ goods received qty- 15% purchase order qty]
in case of under delivery: goods received qty
how can we maintain this requirement in sap

After spending quite sometime with various costumer service representatives this morning I was told I need to contact Accounts Payable. They gave me what looks like an employee's email address, which i contacted but have had no reply.
The issue pertains to a large purchase I made for a non-profit whose tax-exempt status was not provided at time of purchase. How can I get in contact with someone at accounts payable about this?Hi joeamelendez,
Please call
AR at 1-866-426-4004 and follow the command prompt.

Hello people.
Please, I really need help with the customizing to create payments in Account Payables from TRM contracts.
Example: I have a fixed-term deposit with transaction "Borrowing". I will have "payments" movement in my contract every month.
Accounting rule for payment must be:
Debit: Borrowings Account
Credit: Vendor
What should I do in customizing to post a document for a vendor in AP beside linking the TRM Business Partner with a Vendor?
In the account determination for update types I can assign just G/L accounts and not Vendor´s account number.
Please, any suggestion/links to find documentation about this will be extremally helpful.
Thanks a lot.Hello Srs.
I could find and understand what you mentioned bellow:
"When assigning your update types to posting specifications, there is a check box for payment transaction. Specify a new posting specification and assign the customer account symbol."
But, I can´t find a way to assign a customer account to an account symbol instead of a G/L account. I couldn´t find an option to assign a customer account. Could you clarify how can I do that?
Thanks a lot! -
Account payable: Reconciliation field(s)
Dear all,
As I am not very familiar with vendor payments, I hope you can help me with this question.
With Regards
Srinivas
