App spree success! $100k club!

This past year and a half has been big for me both personally and professionally. I joined the forums roughly a year ago with mid-high 500's and started in the rebuilding section. With the help and advice of other members I was able to increase my scores to the high 600's within a few months. In December 2014 I entered the garden with the ultimate goal of buying a house. Well, today I closed on my house at 11am. At 11:30 am I literally walked out of the title company's office and applied for 4 CC's that I was wanting to add to my profile(from my cell phone while sitting in my truck in the parking lot, lol). Not only was I approved for all 4 cards I applied for but I also joined the $100k club. So in a years time frame, I went from having only one CC(Credit One) to owning a house and having all the credit I would need in a lifetime. I will be entering the garden permanently at this point as I really don't have a use for any other cards.
Prior to my spree my scores were
721 EQ(24 inq) 746 EXP(13 inq) 740 TU(8 inq)
Approvals
AmEx BC(my very first one!) - $4500
Discover It - $4000
Sallie Mae - $5000
Citi Double Cash - $6600
This forum has been a very valuable resource. I want to thank each and every person that contributes one way or another to MF - it is a blessing to others, such as myself, to be able to come here and gain knowledge with anything and everything related to credit.

I just bought a home too a few weeks ago.  I didn't go on a spree like you did, but I did try for a card that I did want and got it!  I can imagine how you felt after getting the home and then getting in the $100K club on the same day.  I was already in the $100K club so I didn't get as excited as you must have, but I was excited and fairly happy with the limit I got.  I had to jump through hoops to get the card though, as Huntington doesn't allow you to talk to the analysts directly.  I applied in the bank while opening a checking account.  (They had an offer, open an account, put in $1000 and get $150, so I figured why not it is free money.  I opened the account knowing that Huntington only really gives credit cards to people within their footprint and used my local address, which is not in any way related to my credit report.  So they had to do a verification on me.  Since you can't talk to the analysts, you can't get the best answer for what you need and the people who do help you simply tell you to take in a utility bill.  I simply gave them a copy of enough things to prove who I am that regardless of my address they would know it wasn't fraud.  I did have three old driver's licenses and a lot of other things, so I flooded them with info. Congrats on the property and the $100K club.  I will be seeing you in the garden.

  • Finally made the 800 club!! To app spree or not to app spree...

So I've been waiting for my NFCU payoff to post after my credit card debt was consolidated onto a low interest personal loan. I've been saving up the CreditCheckTotal $1 trial until I noticed the balance was paid so I didn't have to wait for myFico to update (yes, I'm that impatient, you have no idea). Well, 3 days after the statement posted, EQ and EX were finally updated, and I went ahead with the CCT trial and got this: This is a first! I was in the 400s in 2011/2012 when I started on the rebuilding section of the board, so this has been a journey for me. Never would I have imagined I'd been in the 800s, especially with my horrible credit past. Now the dillema, I've been waiting for this so I could app for a few cards I've been wanting, mainly the Slate for the 0% BT offer, and the CSP to pair with my Freedom for rewards and the Amex BCE. Also considering one of the Chase hotel cards.. but now that I have an 800+ score, I'm not sure I want to apply anymore and ruin this great score! Don't know what to do.. decisions, decisions! I've been itching to go on an app spree....

    Thanks everyone!  Redeyz wrote:
Wonderful achievement! This is somewhat of a lifechanging moment since you've crossed a threshold you probably thought impossible. I have a couple questions though.- How much CC debt did you consolidate through the low interest personal loan?- And what score decrease did you see from getting an installment loan versus the point increase from paying off the CC debt? Was it neutral or more positive paying off the CC balances? I'd say...hold off and let that beautiful score of 805 stick around for a month, and in the meantime evaluate which card or cards best fit your longterm objectives and then apply in a month. Congrats again. The CC consolidation was about 20k @ 6.41% through SoFi and hasn't posted to my credit report. So I'm sure I'll take a small hit when that happens. According to the simulators, which have been mostly accurate, I'll drop 5 points. I'm still waiting for TU to post all of this months credit card payoffs, but they seem to be taking forever so I'm not sure what my score with them will be, but they've been consistent with Experian, so I hope they also put me > 800. The simulators also show that a new CC will drop me to 770.. I wanted to BT a majority of my loan over to the Slate assuming I could get a high SL with them, but something in me just wants to deal with the interest I'm paying on the loan (~$450ish by the time it's paid off) and keep the high score lol. I got in with my Mortgage at 3.375% when I hit the 700s in 2012, So aside from paying off this last consolidation loan, I have no other short term credit goals so technically I have room to play and wouldn't mind getting a few more cards to stiffen my AAOA for years down the road.

  • Advice for Upcoming App Spree

Thanks for asking those questions; I knew I was bound to leave some information out. Unfortunately, I don't have verifiable income during the summer, but I did during the school year, and I will during this upcoming school year. The only reason I was denied for the Discover CLI was because my history was so short (didn't even have a FICO score yet). I always PIF. I didn't even think to include that because that just seems like it should go without question with the way I view credit haha. Anyway, yeah I always plan to PIF with any credit cards. As far as getting my other FICOs, is there any free way? Just the whole reason I'm into credit cards is to save money (rewards now and lower interest on loans in the future), so paying for anything credit related kind of contradicts why I do this stuff. I do plan to get a Citi Double Cash in the future, and then I'll have a monthly EQ FICO score as well. I have looked at all of the Capital One cards, but none of them are really rewards leaders. Because I'm mostly just interested in the very best cards for me and Capital One triple pulls, I'm not really interested in them. As far as the plausibility of getting these cards, I think that if I applied for only one of the them (except maybe the Fidelity), I would be approved because I've seen many thin, clean files approved for AmEx cards, seen people with only 6 months of credit history approved for the Freedom despite Chase saying that they like to see a year of history, and the Sallie Mae seems to be geared towards students or recent graduates, so it makes sense that thinner files get approved for the Sallie Mae card. Anyway, I could be totally wrong about any of this, but I think that I stand a decent chance for these cards on their own, but applying in the right order might be key to getting hopefully at least 3.

Thanks for the reply. Yeah, I'm definitely a bit worried about having a successful app spree and then Barclays closing my account because of too many recent accounts. I was under the impression that the charge cards are easier to get approved for than the revolvers, and the PRG is a charge card while the ED is a revolver. Either way, I don't really see the point of applying for cards just because I am more likely to get approved for them. I'm more interested in applying for cards because their rewards fit my spending habits. This same logic goes for why I don't intend to apply for a Capital One card. Also, as far as feasibility of my approval for these cards, here are a few relevant links so that we hopefully don't have to talk that much about that on this thread:Sallie Mae approval with 9 months history and a 642 TU FICOSallie Mae and Chase Freedom approval with 8 months history and a 707 TU FICOFidelity Amex approval with 9 months history, 7 months AAoA, 723 EQ FICO, and 741 TU FICOAmex ED approval with 6 months history and 696 EXAmex BCP approval with 6 months historyAmex PRG approval with 7 months historyAmex BCE approval with 9 months historyAmex BCE and Chase Freedom approval with 8 months historyChase Freedom approval with similar profileChase Freedom approval with short history No offense,  but if you search enough for what you want to hear, you will find it... I know you are not opting for the charge cards, but it made me think, how many teens/young adults need a charge card...Which made me think further, it would be great because there is a less chance of accumulating cc debt! Something to think about. How much money do you spend a month that can be put on credit cards?  What are your 1, 5, and 10 year credit goals?  I did check credit pulls database (which is a gamble anyway) and the amex prg had lots of approvals even for scores lower than yours. Go for it. I really dont care for that salliemae card. #1 because it is with barclays.  Plus, their rewards cap seems kind of low. But yeah, it would be a geat card for a student especially for bookstore/amazon and you can have the percent deposited into upromise or pay interest on student loans (as I am sure you already know!).
Anyway, did you check the chase approval site? I would apply for amex first. If you dont get approved, call in for a recon for a different product. I think you will be just fine with whichever card you select. I would apply for chase second. And Salliemae 3rd.  Only because the first two have the most room to grow with you and therefor seem to be the priority to me. My reply doesnt have much advice, but hopefully it will bump it to the top so others will chime in!

  • Summer App Spree AMEX, CITI, NFCU, BOA Building Credit

Have been deployed since August of 2014. Soon returning. Used the time to rebuild and work on my credit. Got a car loan in April 2014 with M&T then refinanced through USAA for 4.00%. Applied for nRewards with NFCU in July 2014 and was approved for 3,000. Applied for LOC and got it to 15,000. Applied for Cap One QS 1 and Platinum 500 each, EO bumped up one to 1500. Now that i'm coming home and have (for the most part) not done much of anything credit related while I was gone (other than NFCU CLIs and Chase Slate for a balance transfer) i've come out the garden swinging. APPROVED 7/16BOA HRC Cash Rewards 3500AMEX BCE 2500AMEX PRG w/ 50,000 sign up bonusNFCU PC from nRewards to Flagship Visa Sig with 18,000 Credit LineDISCOVER IT CLI +500 PENDING 7/16 Citi Premier -- was originally denied, the EO is reviewing my application again and will get back to me by Monday. Provided me with direct line to call to give additional info or ask questionsNFCU Cash Rewards - just waiting on site to update my app I hope to close or consolidate my smaller limit cards and higher interest cards. I didn't intend to go on a spree prior to purchasing another car but eh, you live once. Will certainly garden after my car purchase so I can look forward towards a mortgage. And for those who are wondering, INQ - somewhere between 7-13 on each, AAofA 4 years, one paid collection, no unpaid collections, one 120 day late from 4 years ago, 3 30 day lates from two years ago to the day when I lost my civilian job - all on credit cards. My scores are from myfico. Oh by the way, when I got the slate in February I believe it was, I had more than 5 accounts in two years. Thanks to everyone for their help, i've been on this forum for over a year now I just never post anything.

Great Job. Try PenFed for your car loan. I've always found their rates far better then USAA or NFCU for auto but YMMV. Also, if you dont have an account with them, they do a HP for account openings and your pull is good for 30 days for any of their products. Goodluck on your car purchase and Congrats on the very sucessful app spree.

  • First Ever "App Spree" 5/5 Approved!

Closed on my duplex property purchase 6/30. Last week I apped for a Home Depot card at the appliance desk and received $4500. Called for CLI, asked for $10k and received $10k.  Yesterday, the payoff of my existing Capital One account reported, so today I proceeded with my first ever post home purchase app spree! $3300 - Citi Dividend Preferred - 21 months 0%$1000 - AmEx Blue Cash ED - 15 months 0%$3000 - Capital One VentureOne - 12 months 0%$5000 - Chase Marriott$12000 - SYNC/Lowes (initial line $2000, called for CLI, asked for $20k, received $12k) These lines will help keep my overall utilization low while I do some remodeling/upgrades to my newly acquired property.  I was approved for all 5 of the cards I went after today. I couldn't really be more pleased.  I was not pre approved for any of the cards I got today. I was only ever pre-approved for the Home Depot card. Let me know if you have any questions!

    Way to go, AWESOME SAUCE!!!

  • APP Spree Complete! 3/3 APPROVALS!

While I didn't actually plan on doing an actual spree, after the first AMEX approval I was feeling froggy.  1. AMEX ED approval (with BK reporting). SL of $2,500.00. Attempted 3x CLI upon activation. Denied. CL = $2,500.002. Lowe's Card Approval. SL of $2,000.00. Next day recon, got increased to $17,000.00. CL = $17,000.003. Western Federal Credit Union PLOC approval after 3 days of verification(pay stubs/W-2's/full tax schedules). CL = $25,000.00 So all in all $44,500.00 in new credit. I'm DONE!

It was a Chp 7. It is still showing on my reports, that's why the AMEX approval was so appreciated!

  • Run app until successfully installed

Is it possible to setup an app object so that it will run on each time a user logs in until it is successfully installed. And once it is successfully installed, it quits running. As far as I know there are only two settings: (1) Run Once and (2) Run every time a user logs in. But is there a setting to "run every time a user logs in until it is successfully installed, and then quit"?
    Thanks...

With your option (2) you could add a "Distribution Rule" that checks for a
file or a registry entry that only exists after a successful install and
specify a condition to run only when this file or entry does not exist.

  • 2 seperate app spree's, 8/9 approved!!@!

Ok, so I came out of the garden prematurely. Was suppose to garden until Nov or Dec 2015 but got anxious because there were still some cards I wanted. App'd for Chase, Amex ED, Discover It and Abercrombie & Fitch (because my son loves that store). Approved on all but Chase citing too many new accounts. Discover  (3,000), Amex (1,000) and Abercrombie (700.00). I then waited 2 weeks and decided to try again and was approved for Neiman Marcus (dont know my limit yet), Macy's (1,000) and Walmart (asked for 5,000 but only got 2500), BoA (got denied but then got the 99/500 deal which I accepted to get in the door with them) and approved for TJMaxx store card (my personal favorite store, approved 700.00). Now in garden for new target end date of March-April 2016. Will come out to app for higher limit cards.Current Scores are: Exp 689, Trans 676, Eq 632. BK due to fall off end of 2016, no baddies!

    Congratulation on all your approvals!

  • Long Awaited APP SPREE!

I've waited for this day for almost 2 years while slowly gardening my current cards and slowly building up my report. It was a long journey and I'm please to share my success with you all and to motivate the ones who are at where I was not too long ago... there's light at the end of the tunnel So lets get to it! First card which was #1 on my list: Sallie Mae Mastercard -  Instant Approval $5,000 !(Called the backdoor number to request a larger limit but no luck they felt they were fair on their offer for now... Which is fine because its still a great limit!) 2nd on my list: Discover IT - After calling in to verify all the info needed APPROVED $3,500 !(No luck with backdoor number as well but this was a dream card to get for me and I'm just glad to be on board) 3rd on my list: US Bank Cash+ - Under review(Not sure if this is a common procedure with them but it kind of shocked me, hopefully they approve and don't offer another card) Last but not least: American Express Blue Cash Everyday - Instant Approval $4,500 !(Didn't call the backdoor number because I didn't want to mess up my 3xCLI chances after the 61st day)  All in all I wanted to keep going maybe apply for Chase Freedom and Target Red or Bestbuy but I decided to hold myself back and calm down lol Spreeing can make you anxious and have you doing things you may regret later... Being apart of American Express is HUGE to me. I went from a 532 score just a few years ago to getting prime cards with great limits and I wouldn't be where I am today without all the hard work I put in, patience and all the advice and great info I received on this site.. u guys are truly awesome and I couldn't thank you enough.

Congratulations!! With Chase's new policy of only 5 cards in 2 years, if you want the CSP and Freedom I would go see if you pre-qualify on their website, and if so, I'd apply now before your new cards report. Venture you can always get after cause they don't seem shy of inquiries and new accounts.

  • App successfully passed certification to be included in the Windows Phone Store., still not showing in the store .

I have received notification that my app  has successfully passed certification to be included in the Windows Phone Store. But I don't  find
it in store with  public link . Can you tell me why it is not found on the market ? . How do I fix it ?

Whether or not there is a problem at the moment is beside the point. Whether there is a problem or not, the usual publication time varies from ~1 hour to several days. If an app is not on the store within a couple of hours it's still within the normal
timeframe; if it's not in the store after 3 or 4 days there may be an issue.
I don't know why there are so many posts from people expecting their app to be live in the store the minute they get an email. Microsoft need to do a better job of advising developers of the publication process.
Your problem is not the same as OP's, and neither is the updating issue you linked to.
I'm a self-taught noob amateur. Please take this into account when responding to my posts or when taking advice from me.

  • I try to download an app, but it says I need a new version of iPod software, yet I have the latest version.

I've had this issue a couple times now. I have a iPod touch. It is a couple years old, but still new enough to have dual cameras. There have been a couple apps I've tried to load, and it tells me I need a new version of iPod software. I go to the iPod software version screen, and it tells me I have the latest version available.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thank you,
    Kurt

See if you can download the last compatible version by:
Starting when iOS 7 was released, Apple now allows downloading the last compatible version of some apps (iOS 4.2.1 and later only)
App Store: Downloading Older Versions of Apps on iOS - Apple Club
App Store: Install the latest compatible version of an app
You first have to download the non-compatible version on your computer. Then when you try to purchase the version on your iPod you will be offered a compatible version if one exists.
If not successful then you need a newer model iPod if you want to use that app

  • Tip Toed out of the garden, got 1 of 2 apps approved

Been in the garden since March after getting approved for a Barclays NFL card. Not too bad with inquiries, 8 on each of the 3, and 3 of those inquiries was when I was looking to refi my mortgage last fall. I app'd for Discover It last Oct, just shy of 4 years post BK7 discharge. Turned down flat, rejection letter cited only BK and past delinquencies (I've never had a DS card, so I didn't burn them in BK, and I have no delinquencies on EQ) . Recon was useless. Fast forward 8 months and the last 3 weeks I've received a weekly invitation letter w/code from Discover. I shredded the first two thinking "Yeah, right - I'm not wasting another HP with these guys!" When the 3rd invite letter came in the mail yesterday I started thinking "Well, maybe they really do want me", and took the plunge and app'd. It said "You're approved", but then asked for more info on employment and home ownership, and then it gave a message "Your card, credit limit and other important information will arrive in 5-10 days". I've never had a CC approval that didn't tell me the CL and APR, and was thinking " I'll bet these jokers are giving me something like a $500 CL which will make the 1 yr. 0% APR and double cashback useless!" So I look up the backdoor # here and called, ready to tell them "Thanks, but No thanks" if I got less than $2k SL. Rep was very nice, and told me I was approved for $4k SL and 13.9% APR after the first year of 0%. I didn't even try to recon/barter, just 8 months after being turned down flat I'm happy with that.  Then, flush with success I made a mistake - I app'd for a Sallie Mae MC, a little too soon. I've had a Barclays Rewards MC since 4/12, SL of $1200 and auto CLI'd to $5700 with regular usage. Got the Barclays NFL card in April for the sole purpose of using the 15 mo 0% BT to pay off a $4k Prosper loan., that 65% util sure dinged my CS, but made financial sense as I'll payoff the BT much faster @0% than I would have with Prosper @11%. The app said "Under Review", so I call the Credit Analyst - super nice lady and we had a good conversation, I even mentioned the MyFico forum as a place for very useful info. She said she couldn't approve SM "at this time" as my NFL card is considered too new to rate. I told her I've budgeted payments to get the NFL balance down under 30% util by December and asked if that would be a good time to reapply for Salie Mae. Rep said "With another 6 months of payments on the NFL and paying down the balance that much we'll look forward to hearing from you again".  So, a good little app spree - redeemed myself with Discover, and learned a good lesson on how to keep Barclays happy to keep extending more credit to me. Oh, and I asked the Barclays CA if 2 accounts with just under $11k combined CLs was too much for them to give me a 3rd card and CL, she said "Oh no, for our good customers we can approve a 3rd card and more credit".

    Congrats on Discover again
