why we include AppContext.cpp in shared files?

Do you mean why is this class included in the common folder in the SDK, or why is this class included in the Shared sources folder of a particular project?
The reason it's included in the SDK is that it makes pushing/popping AppContext's really simple - just construct one of these objects and the context will be pushed, and when the object goes out of scope the destructor will get called, which will pop the context. It's just a convenience for working with AppContext. Why do we need to do this? Well, you have to push/pop app contexts in Illustrator if you're calling into certain Ai API's from a flash UI or a third party UI framework like Qt.
Why is it the shared folder for a certain project in XCode/Visual studio? Well, probably because the project uses the AppContext class. If you remove it from the project then I would expect that you will no longer be able to build your code. The reason that it's under shared and not under the main source folder is just to distinguish between code that is common to multiple samples which you probably want to use but don't want to change, and code which is only specific to your project.

MSO 2010 Application deployment hangs if detection method for presence of deployment is specified

SCCM 2012 R2 is configured to deploy MSO 2010 to our systems, even the ones that already have it deployed. Regular deployment does not re-install MSO 2010 because it detects it already installed on a system, so I added "Detection Method" and configured
it to look for a file "mso_installed.txt" in C:\WINDOWS. A custom MS Office package was created to place this file into C:\WINDOWS during the setup as part of App deployment.
The logic is: if the app deployment does NOT find this file in C:\windows, it will force MSO reinstall. Introducing this method appears to hang the setup. I can see that deployment shows up in Software Center, content is downloaded, status changes to "installing"
and then nothing happens. Setup32.exe process appears to sit doing nothing - no change in CPU or MEM utilization. Eventually, the status changes to "Past due - will be installed".
We currently have a deployment that works, but doesn't have the detection method logic above. What could be causing this deployment not to work and if my method above is not ideal, what are my options for forcing re-install of the app, even if already present
on the system?

Deploying Office 365 Pro Plus via SCCM

Hi
I am trying to deploy Office 365 Pro Plus via SCCM, I followed this process https://gallery.technet.microsoft.com/How-To-Deploying-Office-70e8b1eb#content , we don't use the application catalogue but I made the application available to be run via system
center.
Though can't get it deployed, I keep getting some errors about checking internet connections ...though I can run the command manually and it'works.
Does anyone managed to install it via SCCM ?

Office 365 Direct Access SCCM

Hi,
Recently we deployed a bunch of laptops using SCCM (windows 8.1) but having a partial issue with Office 365 via Software Center.
When laptops are within domain:
- Office 365 installs during OSD
- Office 365 installs via Software Center
When laptops are within domain via Direct Access:
- Office 365 downloads but fails at installing.

I have seen some other post where they suggest it is a permission issue but in my case there are no pop up windows and the content was cached to user directory.
Also confirming that source folder (files and file sizes) are all matching compare to local cached folder.
Administrator full access to file (myself logged in as administrator)

Hi,
Found out what the issue was... not really a issue to be honest.
As I am managing SCCM at the same thing, I have office 365, Visio and Project installation as a separated package.
When I try to run Visio and Project while Office (Lync and Outlook) are running, it will instantly fails.
Once I turned those software off, it works like magic.

Deployment of Office 365 Click to Run

Having an issue getting the O365 to install and wondering if I could get some help. I am new to SCCM and have managed to get a few other apps/packages pushed out without issue. I have followed a couple of online resources to get this one
going but am at the end of my rope.
Created an Application that pushes out to a user Group.
Client Computer (default device) is seeing the package and downloading for the appropriate users and I can see the complete package in the \windows\CCMCACHE
The issue appears that it is timing out waiting for user input when doing the install.

As this is the first package that really has failed miserably I would love any help trying to troubleshoot what is wrong.

I haven't pushed this application out but I have looked at OneDrive which was very similar.

Forget about Configuration manager, it's just running the installation via a command line under the system account.
Copy your application to a local machine and run it from from a command line,
It might be worth changing the display level property so you can see if the installation is prompting for anything.
You could also add

and check the temp directory for the log file.
Start run %temp%
or if running under the system account this will be located C:\windows\temp.
Once you have your installation going through silently then run it under the system account. again do this from the local machine without configmgr using PSEXEC -i -s cmd.exe

EMET App Deployment

I am trying to install EMET 5.0 by deploying it via SCCM App Deployment. I followed the
guidelines provided. However, I am unclear why it does not install. It shows up in "software center", and fails to install. I even tried to
install it manually,
msiexec /i "\\Server\Sources\EMET\5.0\EMET Setup.msi" /qn /norestart
it fails as well, saying the cab file is corrupted with event id 11335. I don't think the file is corrupted.

Concur with the above. A couple of additional comments also:
- EMET 5 is a technology preview. Not saying you shouldn't test with it, but for production deployment you should be using 4.1 at this time as 5.0 may have issues (like this one).
- To diagnose 1603 Windows Installer errors, you should add verbose logging to the command-line (using the /l*v option) and examine the resulting verbose log file (specifically looking for the phrase "return value 3").

Simultaneously successful and in-progress deploy

I deployed an app to two devices. Both PCs installed the application successfully, and the app is fully usable on the client side. However in deployment status I see the two PCs under the Success tab, but I also see the two PCs under the In Progress tab.
The message under the In Progress tab is "Waiting for user session reconnect". I have logged into both PCs and restarted them, force updated their machine policy and application deploy policy and the message persists.
Any ideas about how I can resolve this issue and prevent it from occurring in the future?

No errors that I can see.

SCCM 2012 Software deployement issue

Hi,
I have a created an .msi package and trying to deploy it but it is getting failed. I have tried every possible switch that I could use but every time it is failed.
If I check “exemgr. Log” file it says “execution is complete for program to install. The exit code is 0. Execution status is success”
Switches I have used : 1. "C:\Windows\system32\msiexec.exe" /i
"test.msi" /qn
2. msiexec /i test.msi /qn
3. msiexec /i test.msi /quiet
If I use the same switches through command prompt, installation goes successful. It is happening on every computer.
Please suggest??

Hi, when deploying adobe from command line i get the following error 1635, without patch deployment goes fine.
command line is msiexec /i "AcroRead.msi" PATCH="AdbeRdrUpd1014.msp" TRANSFORMS="AcroRead.mst" /qb /norestart

For patch deployment use Acrobat/Reader SCUP catlogs. It will be a lot easier, without you providing any command lines.

Software deployment error 0x87d00324

We deploy software through SCCM throughout our organization. I'm deploying a new App (Autodesk Inventor 2015) I tested it and it worked so I deployed it but there is one model on machine its not working on It gets error the software change returned
error code 0x87d00324. I've tried reimaging a few of that model machines (Dell T1600) and still get the same. The program installs on other models fine and on these models if I copy the manual install files and installing it manually the program does
install its just not installing from SCCM. Is there something on this specific model of H/W preventing and SCCM installation of just one program?

Dependency application will not install first?

Hi,
I am trying to install Visio compatibility pack onto some clients but it requires that Visio SP2 to be installed first. So I deployed the compatibility pack and set the dependency to automatically install Visio SP2 but it never does. Once the advertisement
arrives on the client, it just tries installing the compatibility pack right away. I checked the cache and I don't see SP2 as being downloaded at all? I have distributed it to the DP. Any ideas would be appreciated. TY

It just shows that the converter failed to install, noting related to the service pack. (Posted below). Yes I do have automatically install selected. I don't know what else it could be? Image below

Error in visualizing a Data Form "WDEFGenerator.cpp"

Hi,
I have migrated an HFM application from version 4.01 SP2 to version 11.1.2.1
Everything works fine appart from an error in visualizing a Data Form:
In the previous version of HFM this error was not verified.
If I disable the option SuppressNoDataRows I get no errors but I would like to keep this option enabled.
Does anyone know what could be the problem?

CPP Assertion Error when navigating in Obiee 11g

Hi,
I have a report which uses SQL filters and I am trying to navigate from this report to another page.
And I see the following error :

Some forums mentioned that re-creation of saved SQL filters would help but it didn't.
Has anyone faced similar errors ?

After System Update last night, the system will not boot with IOPlatformExpert.cpp:1504 error

I have had Lion for a 2, 3 months on the iMac 27 inch purchased last October (2011). Last night I chose to update the system, and deselected iMoves update because it was 1GB, and chose only 4 updates, including iTunes, Safari (i think)... But the update says error, and ask to restart the system (it won't restart itself, so I waited 30 minutes, and then pressed the Power button for 10 seconds, to let it power down, and press Power again to power it up).
However, after that, the system failed to boot up, showing a
panic(cpu 0 caller .....)" "Unable to finder driver for this platform: \"ACPI\". ... xnu-1699.26.8/iokit/Kernel/IOPlatformExpert.cpp:1504
This is not typical of the upgrade process. So I searched the Internet forIOPlatformExpert.cpp:1504 and some people said it is a hard drive error, but then I powered down and pressed Options when booting up, and was able to boot to Windows 7 (bootcamp)... and was able to boot to the "Recovery", which let me choose

This error is caused by one of the updates you applied, namely the Thunderbolt Software Update 1.2. Many people have been affected by it, including me. I did what Linc Davis has suggested above to fix it. The most extensive discussion about the problem, with ways to fix the problem, is here:

Adobe Media Encoder (CS5) has encountered an error (WinFile.cpp-759)

I have a 714 MB Xvid file that I want to split into smaller pieces. I have gone successfully through a similar process earlier with a larger Xvid file using the same version of Adobe Media Encoder (CS5). It appears that no matter which output video format I choose, the process crashes with the following error message shown in a new pop-up dialog:
"Adobe Media Encoder has encountered an error. [..\..\Src\Win\WinFile.cpp-759].
(Even the source program file line number 759 in the above error message is always the same, regardless of my chosen output file format.)
The only option available from this point onwards is the "Continue" button. When I click Continue the program terminates with the Windows program crash message "Adobe Media Encoder CS5 has stopped working. A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available. <Debug> / <Close program>"
My search for other similar problem reports revealed that some user(s) has/have experienced a very similar problem in CS4, but the source line number was slightly different in CS4. Both problems are probably caused by the same error in Adobe's software. The small difference in source line numbers is probably due to some (minor) and probably unrelated changes to this C++ source module (WinFile.cpp).
It might of course be the case that this particular input video file has some rare encoding or other embedded problem. However, the fact that I can view the video without problems using Windows Media Player does not support this theory.
Apart from this message board I could not find any other avenue to report this bug to Adobe (without paying for support - which I am obviously not going to do as this is clearly a programming bug in the software). Hopefully some Adobe developer responsible for Media Encoder maintenance will read this forum from time to time and would subsequently inspect the source module for any obvious defects. I could supply the source video file with which this problem can be reproduced at will.
