How to do application scanning in SQL Developer for sybase ctlib and dblib applications? A reply with a step by step walk through will be helpful ..

1. Create migration repository user
CREATE USER "migrepo" IDENTIFIED BY migrepo ;
GRANT "RESOURCE" TO "migrepo" ;
GRANT "CONNECT" TO "migrepo" ;

2. Create migration repository
* Create connection for user migrepo
* In context menu,
select Migration Repository->Associate Migration Repository
3. Install jdbc driver for Sybase
* You will not see any third party tabs in the connections dialog until you have installed the drivers. Read this Getting Started document to show you how.
* You can download and include the third-party database drivers manually. See the existing documentation for that on OTN. Alternatively you can use Check for Updates to setup these drivers.
4. Create 3rd party connection (Sybase)
* E.g., pixar sa/<blank> (or <yourConnection>)
5. Capture 3rd party database
* In context menu for connection pixar(or <yourConnection>),
* Select Migrate to Oracle...
* In migration wizard
* Step 1: Next
* Step 2: (Migrepo should be selected) Next
* Step 3: name: pixar(or <yourProject>); Output Directory: <where you want capture logs to go e.g.,\tmp>; Next
* Step 4: Mode: Online; Connection: pixar(or <yourConnection>); Next
* Step 5: Available Databases: pixar(or <yourDB>); Next
* Step 6: Finish
if you want to do convert as well...
* Step 6: Next
* Step 7: Mode: Online; Connection: <sysdba connection>; Finish
Convert creates Oracle users/schema/tables/etc. See migration help for details/permissions needed.
6. Add Application
* In Migration Project Navigator,
* Expand pixar project(or <yourProject>)
* In context menu for capture (thing with timestamp as label)
* Select Add Application...
* In Application Wizard,
* Step 1: Next
* Step 2: Application Name: <yourApp>; Description: anything; Next
* Step 3: Application Directory: <app_dir>; (root of hierarchy with source you want to scan)
Output Directory: <where you want the logs and converted source to go>
Next
* Step 4: Finish
7. Navigate to <yourApp>
* Expand capture node (thing with timestamp as label)
* Expand Applications; <yourApp>

Loading data with dates using SQL*Loader

Dear everyone
I am currently trying to load some data containing dates using SQL*Loader.
For termination of fields I have been using ^ because I have some book titles which contain " and ' as part of their title. I found that the TO_DATE function did not seem to work using ^ instead of ". Would I be correct? I think the Oracle manual says that " must be used.
After some Web research I eventually amended my control file to as follows:
load data
infile 'h:\insert_statements\22_insert_into_SCAN_FILE_INFO.txt'
REPLACE
into table SCAN_FILE_INFO
fields terminated by "," optionally enclosed by '^'
TRAILING NULLCOLS
(scan_id, scan_filename

A simple line of data is as follow:

The final column being null.
However when I attempt that I get the following error message:
Record 1: Rejected - Error on table SCAN_FILE_INFO, column SCANNING_DATE.
ORA-01841: (full) year must be between -4713 and +9999, and not be 0
If I change the scanning_date part to:
scanning_date "EXPRESSION TO_DATE (:scanning_date, 'YYYY-MM-DD')",
or
scanning_date "CONSTANT TO_DATE (:scanning_date, 'YYYY-MM-DD')",
I get the error message:
Record 1: Rejected - Error on table SCAN_FILE_INFO, column SCANNING_DATE.
ORA-00917: missing comma
As soon as I do the following:
scanning_date "EXPRESSION, TO_DATE (:scanning_date, 'YYYY-MM-DD')",
or
scanning_date "CONSTANT, TO_DATE (:scanning_date, 'YYYY-MM-DD')",
I get too many values error message:
Record 1: Rejected - Error on table SCAN_FILE_INFO.
ORA-00913: too many values
I also tested out scanning_date DATE "YYYY-MM-DD", but that just gave the same ORA-01841 error message as above.
I must be doing something very simple which is wrong but I cannot figure it out.

And why do you have scanning date as "TO_DATE('2007-06-06', 'YYYY-MM-DD')" in your infile? All you need is 2007-06-06. If you can not change infile generation code, use:
load data

I can no longer scan using HP d110 after Mavericks

I have tried so many work-arounds to fix this issue! I've read countless threads, deleted and re-installed drivers (although according to mac and hp, this wasn't necessary), I've tried scanning using the Print/Scan utility, Image Capture, Preview and Webscan and NOTHING works. The scan begins (so I know that the printer and communicating) but then I get an error message that says "An error occurred while communicating with the scanner."
My printer works fine. But scan - which worked just fine before installing Mavericks - no longer works. Help!

I understand that you are getting a scan error. I will do my best to help you resolve this issue in Mavericks. I suggest trying to do a copy from the printer, this is to establish that the scan function is working properly on the printer. If you cannot do a copy then there is a problem with the scanner hardware and we will have to address that issue first. If there is no problems doing the copy then I recommend that you power cycle the network.
How to power cycle network
Follow these steps to reset your HP printer, your wireless router, and your computer.
1.Press the Power button on the HP printer to turn it off.
2.Disconnect the power cord from the rear of the HP printer.
3.Disconnect the power cord from the wireless router.
4.Turn off the computer.
5.Wait 30 seconds.
6.Reconnect the power cord to the wireless router.
7.Wait 30 seconds, or until the router is fully on and ready.
8.Turn the computer back on.
9.Wait for the computer to reload.
10.Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the HP printer.
11.Turn the printer back on.
Then reset the Printing System
Resetting the Printing System in Mac
Open System Preferences > Printers & Scanners > Print
Hold down the Option key while clicking the "-" (Remove printer) button.
If no printers are currently added, hold down the Control key while clicking in the box that appears above the "+" (Add printer) button, then choose Reset printing system… from the contextual menu

I have an XML file as below. I need to insert the contents into a temporary staging table using sql loader. Please advice how I need to do that.
For example Portfolios should go into a seperate table, and all the tags inside it should be populated in the columns of the table.

Two options that come to mind. Others exist.
#1 - {thread:id=474031}, which is basically storing the XML in an Object Relational structure for parsing
#2 - Dump the XML into either an XMLType based table or column and use SQL (with XMLTable) to create a view that parses the data. This would be the same as the view shown in the above post.
Don't use sql*loader to parse the XML. I was trying to find a post from mdrake about that but couldn't. In short, sql*loader was not build as an XML parser so don't try to use it that way.

Frequently used SQL ought to be retained in the library cache without pinning. Oracle only starts flushing stuff from the cache once it's full and then it ages out the least-recently used queries.
So, if you have a persistent problem with excessive reloading of frequently used queries you may need to reconsider the value of your shared_pool_size.

But I don't remember the Username or SIDAssuming your DB is up and running, you can find out the SID by :
$ ps -ef | grep smon | grep -v grep
oracle 15298 1 1 10:59 ? 00:00:00 ora_smon_db11
$ here db11 is the SID.
About username, you can create one. Use Sql*Plus and OS authentication :
$ export ORACLE_SID=<your SID>
$ sqlplus / as sysdba

Retreving Hexadecimal Values from a table using SQL query.

Presumably, you can be sure that any valid hex value is indeed MEANT to BE a hex value. For example the value 'ACE' is meant to be a hexadecimal value and not the word.

Can you use SQL as a data source for a project in the same way you can in Excel?

Excel allows you to create a data source that executes a SQL stored procedure, display that data as a table in a spreadsheet and have that data automatically refresh each time you open the spreadsheet. Is it possible to do the same thing in MS Project, displaying
the data from the stored procedure as a series of tasks?
Here's what I'm trying to do - I have a stored procedure that pulls task data meeting a specific criteria from all projects in Project Server. We're currently displaying this data as an Excel report. However, the data includes start dates and durations so
it would be nice to be able to display it as a Gantt Chart. I've played around with creating a Gantt chart in Excel and have been able to do a very basic one, but it doesn’t quite fit our needs.

No, You can not use sql as a data source for a project.
You have 3 options to achieve it:
1. You can create a Sharepoint list with desired column ,fill desired data in that list then you can create a MS project from Sharepoint List.
2. You can create a SSRS report in which you can display grantt chart Joe has given you that link.
3. You can write a macro in MPP which will take data from your excel. In excel you will fetch data from your stored procedure. write a schedule which will run every day to update your data or
create an excel report in which will update automatically and write macro in mpp which will fetch the data then publish it so that it would be available to team members.

All the tables you create in Repository comes under A2i_CM_Tables in Database named as your repository name. So the tables names are fields of table A2i_CM_Tables. Now i tried it but cant make it.
Now, I dont think its possible to extract all fields in tables and there values using select query. May be pure sql guy can do that or not.
But there is no relation of data extraction and syndicator. Data is viewed in Data Manager. and you can also store data in a file from DM also.

1st scenario
When in a runtime, it's keep appear a dialog box. This dialog box ask me to suppy Server, User ID, Password and Database. Once all information is supplied, my report display the data as expected
2nd scenario
I change my report using OLE DB (ADO) -> Microsoft OLE DB Provider for SQL Server -> checked on Integrated Security. I just choose Server, and Database. I assume me using Windows Authentication
When in a runtime, there's no dialog box as above. My report display the data as expected. really cool
Look's like, when report using SQL Server Authentication there's some problem. but, when report using Windows Authentication, it's fine.
I'm looking for comment. Please help me

MS SQL Server 2008 requires you to install the MS Client Tools for 2008.
Once install then update all of your reports to use the SQL Native 10 as the OLE DB driver.
The try again, if it still fails search, lots of sample log on code in this forum.

Create statspack report using sql*developer

Hello,
While connecting with PERFSTAT user I can not create statspack report using SQL*Developer:
@?/rdbms/admin/awrrpt
Error starting at line 1 in command:
@?/rdbms/admin/awrrpt
Error report:
Unable to open file: "?/rdbms/admin/awrrpt.sql"
Actually, my problem or question is that how can PERFSTAT user can generate statspack reports from a Client side. What is the other way a non-dba can see the snapshots histroy and generate report (by using perfstat user ) while joing tables or using views?

for awr reports @?/rdbms/admin/awrrpt (you need EE+Diagnostic Pack) there is a solution.
Grant execute dbms_workload_repository to <user>;
Grant select_catalog_role to <user>;

For statspack i don't know a solutuion. I think the best idea is, create a job to make the statspack report on the server side and access it via external tables or mail them forward to you.

Date type is not captured in Visual composer 7.0 when using SQL server as DB, and field type is "SmallDateTime" in DB.

Create new Text tab in fields of Table & select Type as Date in VC or use DSRT date function
