Apple Deleted My Post About Antenna Issue

So Apple does not like me posting about the antenna issues in their support form. Sorry Apple you have lost me as a customer and all the business I bring to you, which is significant. Moving to Linux and Google Android.
Just so you know Apple you cannot teach arrogance, you either have it or you do not. And you my former friend have a big case of arrogance! Hope you read this.

Apple DOES read these boards, carefully as a matter of fact- contrary to some posters. I'm with you. Apple has lost me. I'm returning my phone at the end of the 30-day period hoping for a recall in the interim.

There may have been posts in the thread that broke the discussions' terms and conditions.
If your getting wifi dropouts there are a number of variables that could cause this.
Your wireless router may be defective. Make sure you have the latest firmware installed on your router.
    your router may need repositioning.
Your airport card may be defective. There are steps you can do to reset hardware. Zap your pram. restart your mac and hold down commandoption+pr wait for three chimes then release. You could try resetting your smu, or pmu the procedure for this differs from model to model what mac have you got?
you could also run the hardware test that is on your install disc. This would test your airport card.
You may be using a wireless channel that bleeds. Only use 1, 6 or 11.
You may be getting interference from other wifi networks in your area. Use a wireless sniffer such as istumbler to see if your using a wireless channel that is not in use by a nearby network.

  • Does anyone else feel that Apple doesn't care about the issues we have been presenting to them? I have a lot of their products and I'm fed up with none of them working like they used to.

I'm not going into detail but I've had it with my products being so crappy lately. From what I've read, Apple seems to not care as long as they are selling products. They have not acknowledged or owned up to the issues we are experiencing. I feel like maybe a boycott is in order.  I cannot be the only one that is this frustrated with my iPhone and iPad!

  • Yet another post about speed issues !

So had my infinity for more than 10wks now. Have been told time n time again by customer service, sales and technical help that I should get between 67 and 80 meg but after countless phone calls and apparent 'tweaks' at the exchange I'm still only getting 46 at best. Openreach engineer I spoke to in the street said it leaves the box in the street ( 2 short streets away ) at 80 so surely the problem is been m between the box and my house! Why don't they send someone to check this. One of the tech help dept even told me my line can only support 40meg and that I have been miss led over the speed! ! Though others have said I can get the higher speed. Another call back promised for today did not receive any call!
Think I'll be joining virgin when this year's contact is up, 10 months to go and counting, unless I can get out sooner for miss selling.

similar prob  as me,,  yet  john46  keeps copying/pasting same stuff week in week out   im sure he works for bt   as every one has issues with speed etc  and he posts  same thing over and over
If it's a similar problem would you not expect a similar answer! The reason you are asked to perform speed tests etc is to try and establish where the problem may be.
As most people can not be bothered or do not search the forum before posting and perhaps finding the answer it is necessary for those people who give up their own time to try and help, to post the same thing time and time again.
I just hope that if you do have a problem it is not the same as somebody else may have had since you don't seem to want a cut and paste answer.

  • Antenna issues 5s

Hi, I had an iphone 5 on Vodafone and very rarely had 3G and also seemed to be dropping in and out of reception when on calls whilst travelling. I sold the 5 and also switched to O2 and used a 4s for about 3 weeks whilst awaiting the 5s. I thought I had made the best decision of the year changing to O2 until I started using the 5s when it became available. The reception is terrible and I've actually borrowed another O2 sim and am using it in an old blackberry which works brilliantly! I can literally talk on the blackberry clear as day and look at my 5s and see that it is searching for network coverage with zero reception. The 5s drops out in exactly the same areas of the city each day whilst the blackberry works fine, just the same as the 4s did! The antenna in the 5s must be weaker than the 4s!

The reported issues with the antenna in the iPhone 4, which in general were overblown, were for the GSM version of the iPhone. I don't recall seeing a lot of posts about antenna problems with the Verizon model. If you're having reception problems that the usually reset/restore steps don't help, I'd suggest visiting an Apple Store or calling Apple support about the problem.
    Regards.

  • "antenna issues iPhone 4"

Have the issues with iPhone 4 antenna been resolved?  I am a Verizon customer and can stand beside a Verizon customer with a Pantech HotShot with 4 bars and no issues with a conversation but yet my Verizone iPhone 4 has 1 bar and I have severe issues with a conversation.  I have done all of the "update roaming" issues and check for the latest updates.  Is there an answer for this issue?
Viable feedback would be greatly appreciated!

  • IPhone 4- antenna issues past 9/30?

    Good morning-
I would like to purchase the new iPhone 4 but am concerned about antenna issues since Apple has stopped giving out the free cases. Has Apple fixed the issues with the antenna, or will I have to purchase a case on my own, and hope there aren't any more problems? I currently have a 3G and haven't had too much of a problem with the antenna or reception.

    http://www.apple.com/iphone/case-program/
We now know that the iPhone 4 antenna attenuation issue is even smaller than we originally thought. A small percentage of iPhone 4 users need a case, and we want to continue providing them a Bumper case for free. For everyone else, we are discontinuing the free case program on all iPhone 4s sold after September 30, 2010. We are also returning to our normal returns policy for all iPhone 4s sold after September 30. *Users experiencing antenna issues should call AppleCare to request a free Bumper case.*

  • Help with iPhone 4 [Not about antenna, proximity etc.]

Hi, it's not about antenna issue or proximity issue.
Basically my mother fiddled with my iPhone 4 lol!
When she gave it back to me there's a "lock" image beside the battery which I never seen before. WHen I asked her what she did, she said she doesn't know. She's not familiar with iphone
Well my question is, does anybody recognise the "lock" symbol beside the battery? I want to remove it but I don't know how to. I tried looking through the settings but i can't seem to find what is it or where to disable/remove it.
I can't describe it but I have an image of the i4 below. It's not very clear but hopefully you can see it.

To take it off - double click home scroll to left hand end of icon list and touch the icon that looks like a bigger version of the one on screen.

  • Apple deleted some of my posts, so how to remove from "My Questions"???

Is there a way to do this?
I said nothing bad, just a few good ideas about a product not yet released which I guess is a no no...
Anyway in my "MY QUESTIONS" they still show up. How do I delete them? Remove them?
    Thank you.

  • My proposal to Apple to make antenna issue right

This is not a gripe post and is only a suggestion of what I think Apple could do to make this issue right. I hope this post isn't removed.
I finally bought a bumper to fix my antenna issue as Apple has instructed. I really do like the bumper. It's nice. Here is what I would do if I were Apple. Since a bumper is needed to correct the issue I would include a black bumper in the box. Only black would come with the phone. This way everyone has a way to keep the issue from happening right out of the box. If anyone wanted a different color or another black one, they would have to buy it. This way Apple can still make money from their bumpers. Throwing in the black bumper would definitely take the heat off of the issue. I think people would be more inclined to buy a different color since they aren't feeling like they have to in order to fix the issue. Another upside is that once people see how nice the included bumper is, they will most likely want to buy one if there is another color that they really like.
This sounds like a good compromise to me. It would probably be cheaper for Apple in the long run also. Better to cut into bumper profits than to spend money and resources trying to fix the current phone (if they are even considering this). They can just work to make sure this doesn't happen with the next iPhone.

I don't think this goes nearly far enough though. The bumper provided no redress as far as my situation was concerned. Instead, I was left with a phone that continued to drop calls at home where this had never happened before with any of my older handsets, despite their using the same network.
That suks, you may have a different issue then. My issue was specifically touching the black line which caused the antennas to connect. I was able to repeat the test over and over with the exact same results every time. With the bumper on, my hand is no longer making that connection. My signal no longer drops due to this specific issue.
On a positive note, I would imagine that any other issues can be fixed with software. The only hardware issue I see is the external antenna. They did say that the method for choosing a tower has been changed. This could be affecting some users in a negative way. I'm betting most other issues will be cleared up with 4.1 or 4.0.1.

This has worked fine with MobileMe with only a couple of minor glitches in the past.
Any experience doing this the "right" way?

I am having issues with 360 degree rotation, I have an iPhone 5 and ios 6.0.2. I have read alot about this issue online and I found out that my issue is software. I want to know if and when apple will fix this issue?

I had the same experience with a new iPhone 5 that I bought  last week. Did not have a chance to measure battery life before the 6.0.2 upgrade installed but I set up my phone exactly like my 4S and immediately started running out of power after short periods. Went to Xmas get together with fully charged 5 and 4S. Heading home the iPhone 5 shut down for low battery and the 4S had 65% power. Both phones had two half phone calls on then and no data usage.
That night I fully charged the iPhone 5 and, without lighting it up, put it on my night table. Next morning I picked it up and looked at battery indicator and I had 42% charge with NO activity!
Tried it again next night and wound up with 37% charge. (Slept longer).
Today I called the carrier and reactivated the 4S.  Took the 5 to Apple Store and they kindly gave me choice of new replacement phone or refund. I took the refund. Uniquely, the Apple Store said it was Verizon CDMA phones that were coming back.
The are other strings on this with temporary solutions, but from my experience with 7 firmware changes on an HTC 4G phone the problem will continue because the solution will be hardware caused. We are in the days where RTM means Rush to Market - not Release To Manufacturing.
I fear the only solution is to either wait for the next model (I did not notice a really major change in performance over the 4S in LTE heavy Seattle area) - or switch to another manufacturer.
It might be useful for these forums to indicate if you have a GSM or CDMA phone to see which have more problems.
    Discouraged....

  • Apple deleted my account when I made a complaint about being charged for apps that I did not purchase! The said it was for security reasons as my account must have been compromised but only Apple have mu information.I am convinced the operator delete

Apple deleted my account when I made a complaint about being charged for apps that I did not order. They said that my account had been compromised and it was in my best interests to delete it for security reasons! I am convinced the operator deleted my account out of sheer malice because I complained - can anyone advise?

No. It would have been done for security reasons. You notified them that money was being unknowingly taken from your account, so they froze it.
    Change your Apple ID here
And also check for unusual activity on your credit card with your bank. Change all your security password while you are at it.
