I know you both are here to offer support to official topics - but maybe you can interject - with the official word from Apple - on what they are doing / plan on doing to appease this fiesty mob of early-adopters...
I personally bought the 4GB at an At&t store and would love it if I could just exchange up to the 8GB at no cost... not sure how that would work...
Anyways - please help if you can...

This has only been going on for a few hours and I agree that it is very likely that they say nothing until an official response it ready. I am not saying that an official response WILL come but I have even read stories in credible news outlets that are questioning this move.
Don't forget that people from 6 to 60 bought this phone and even Wall Street folks were worried they would not be able to use it as a work phone. I am betting 70% of these people are VERY upset with this move. It is NOT just about the money.

You need to reset the password for the "old" account, and then use that to turn off iCloud. Then you will be able to sign in with your new ID.
You can reset your password at iForgot.apple.com.
If you don't know the answers to the security questions, you will need to start there.

Settings > iTunes & App Stores > Apple ID: > View Apple ID > Country/Region...change here.

Plug the iPhone into a wall outlet, let it charge for half an hour and then try a reboot by holding both the power and home buttons until the apple logo appears.
If that does not work, take it to an Apple store genius bar to be tested by the technicians.

All content and data is forever associated with the Apple ID you used to download it. You should have reset the password for the original I'd.

You're using Exchange Active Sync to synchronize contacts and calendars with your company Exchange Server. If the default calendar/address books are set to the Exchange account, it will sync automatically. This is normal.
Go to Settings>Mail, Contacts, Calendars to change the default address book and calendars to a something else, iCloud or something synced from your home computer instead.

Which email provider are you using? There are different solutions possible for different providers. Yahoo is having trouble with attachments, outside of any Firefox issue. I've seen a Google user fix this by manually adding the mail URL to their ad block program- which mistakenly perceived the webmail page as an advertisement.

unfortunately the do_not_trust certificates might be a sign of unwanted software present on your pc that is intercepting secure network traffic. please go into the system control panel and uninstall programs like BrowserSafeguard, BrowserSafe, SafeGuard or other software that sounds suspicious and didn't get installed by you intentionally.

You will either need to find a local repair shop and pay for it. Or you will need to ship the phone to someone you know in the US and have them take it to Apple for evaluation and then have it shipped back to you. All this will be at your expense.
