Apple replace new or refurbished iphone4?

im under 1 year warrning, and my home button doesn't work very well. when i double clicks, it only responds as single click or no respond.
so i'm considering to change a phone at the apple store, but i also worrying about they replace a refurbished iphone 4 to me.
is anyone could answer my question, i will be very appreciate.
thingk you everyone.

The warranty clearly states it is at Apple's discretion to replace a defective device with a new or refurbished device.
Your existing device is NOT new, it is used.  There is no logical expecation that any company would replace a used device under warranty with a new device.

  • Replacement iPhones in the UK from Apple Store new or refurbished?

Are replacement handsets offered in the Apple Store new or refurbished? From speaking with the staff there they referred to them as Service Grade handsets and I did notice the box containing the handset had a quality control sticker applied to it.
I am looking to exchange my faulty iPhone but do not want the replacement to be a used and refurbished handset while I am within 14 days of original purchase.
Thanks for any help or information offered.

I doubt you would get a refurb in return. Most of the stock in the UK will still be new stock and their first distribution point will likley be through the uk applestore, but i'm guessing it might be a month or two before they show up. Refurbs can be unsold old stock (unopened) or unwanted returns (openened) or even repaired stock. Before they go on sale they test them out for a while to catch any obvious issues. Typically they are a good deal.
I'm sure if you returned to the applestore and they agreed to a replacement (within 1 year not 12 days) ask that it be from new stock and they will oblige.

Since upgrading to ios6, all the family's apple devices (new ipad, 2 iphone4 & itouch) are having difficulty reconnecting to the home hub wifi network. I.e, every time the lock screen comes on, the wifi connection is lost when you reopen the device and we have to reconnect through settings. This appears to be an ios6 software issue.
Is there a solution to this wifi connection issue or do we wait for a software fix?
I'd hate to think Apple is going down the Microsoft path, of passing untested software onto the user. What ever happened to Regression Testing, to ensure the existing functionality remains intact?
I bought into the Apple dream, because it was intuitive, reliable & enjoyable to use, all the things that Microsoft windows isn't.
Other issues we are experiencing are, Games are stuttering and the kids really miss the old YouTube app.
Please Mr Browett, sort these issues out.

    Additional things to try.
Try this first. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.
Change the channel on your wireless router (Auto or Channel 6 is best). Instructions at http://macintoshhowto.com/advanced/how-to-get-a-good-range-on-your-wireless-netw ork.html
Another thing to try - Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.

Note - When troubleshooting wifi connection problems, don't hold your iPad by hand. There have been a few reports that holding the iPad by hand, seems to attenuate the wifi signal.

YouTube is not now part of iOS 6.
However, you can go to the App Store and do a search using YouTube. You can download several YouTube apps: YouTube (for the iPhone, a IPad app is in work), several users  like Jasmine and YouPlayer.

  • Are iPhone4 hardware replacement new, or refurbished?

Title basically says it all, I am slated to get a new 32GB iPhone4 to replace my current one that the Home Button is sticking on. Does Apple send you a "new refurbished" or am I getting a brand new one to replace the one I have that is less than 30 days old?

    daniel_48 wrote:
Hmm... Well you guys have gotten replacements before, what should I do?
My Home Button is sticking, but just barely right now, only when you press it in certain ways/places. It just so happened one place is where I always hit it and it annoyed me so I wanted it fixed, but my phone is mint condition besides that and I doubt anything they send would be even close to it.
Should I hold off to see if the button gets worse before I do this?
You are not going to be able to tell the difference between a refurbished or brand new model. They will be cosmetically flawless, because Apple replaces anything that needs replacing. In fact, the refurbished ones will have more testing prior to shipping than a new one, which undergoes sampling for testing, meaning it may or may not have been tested.
You're worrying about nothing. Get it replaced.

  • Insurance Question - Replacement new or refurbished?

I have had cell phones for years and have never had to had one replaced for a broken screen but wouldn't you know it has finally happened. I got a new phone yesterday and managed to slip on the ice and crack it this morning. I called Best Buy and it looks like I may be stuck with the deductible. The lady on the phone said I could return it but I don't think I can since it's cracked. I don't mind paying the deductible because it is my fault, however I really don't want a refurbished phone since this one is brand new. I also know I have little choice in the matter but I"m hoping for a new phone. Are all insurance replacements refurbished?

Yes they are all refurbished. Sometimes a store can grant a exception and allow you to get a new one one but that would be very rare and highly unlikely on the first one. Most of the times when a store authorizes a in store replacement with a new device is when you have had repeated issues with the various refurbished units.

  • IPhone 5 Replacement (New or Refurbished)

So today I went into the Apple store and had a simple replacement for my iphone 5 free of charge.  Now, the genius who helped was very nice and told me that she was replacing my phone with a new iphone 5.  I believe her, but I just wanted to hear other opinions if anyone has gone through something similar.  Everything looks and works great like a new one (which should matter the most).  Thanks for the help!

It's a replacement from "service stock". There should be no way for your to tell the difference as to whether it is new or has been re-manufactured. Given the high demand for the 5 and the short supplies, it's not likely that there are very many re-manufactured iPhone 5's in the channel yet.

  • Will apple replace my 2009 1TB seagate HD for free?

I purchased my 24" iMAC in June 2009. The replacement offer is for iMACs 21.5" and 27" produced from Octorber 2009. I have the described hard drive. 1TB Seagate. It died this weekend and I was wondering if this is one of the hard drives that needs to be replaced.

  • If my iphone 5 has a problem within the first 30 days will apple replace it with a brand new one or will i get a refurbished model.

if my iphone 5 has a problem within the first 30 days will apple replace it with a brand new one or will i get a refurbished model??

If it is replaced under warranty, it will be replaced with a unit from the "replacement stock", which either will be a refurb or new (no way to distinguish these) and the S/N will indicate a replacement unit.
The "30 day" rule varies from county to country, and applies only to returns, not replacement.

  • Apple store verizon iphone new or refurbished

I took my VZW iphone 4 to the apple store for a bad battery. They replaced the entire phone. The replacement phone was out of a plain black box. How do i tell if this was a new phone or a refurbished iphone. They said some are new and some are Like new. Please help.

You can't tell, and it really doesn't matter.  You turned in a phone with a bad battery and got a like new phone with a new battery.  It has the same warranty period as your original phone or 90 days from the date of replacement, whichever is longer.
If a hardware defect arises and a valid claim is received within the WarrantyPeriod, at its option and to the extent permitted by law, Apple will either (1) repair the hardware defect at no charge, using new parts or refurbished parts that are equivalent to new in performance and reliability, (2) exchange the product with a product that is new or refurbished that is equivalent to new in performance and reliability and is at least functionally equivalent to the original product, or (3) refund the purchase price of the product.

  • Will apple replace my phone with a new one?

I have always noticed since the day I got my 3g- sometime the seccond week it came out-that it had the problem of "light leak.". I just did not know it was a problem until today when I was searching for articles about my iPhone 3g dead pixel which I noticed yesterday. I think it's a dead pixel-black/grayish and looks like dust or eraser shaving under screen. I also have a couple of stuck pixels-green dots. Anyway, the pixel problems are very anoying to me. If I make an appointment with the apple retail store genius bar close to where I live, will apple fix my phone, give me a refurbished phone, or give me a brand new phone? I know the 3g s is comming out in a few days, but I am not looking for my current 3g to be replaced with a 3g s, just a new normal 3g. Any ideas on what would happen?

Every warranty claim is on a case by case basis. If someone here tells you that their iPhone was exchanged under warranty with the same problem as you described doesn't mean that Apple will do the same in your case. All you can do is make an appointment and see what they say after your iPhone is inspected and tested. If your iPhone is exchanged under warranty, you would not receive an iPhone 3GS as the exchange if requested.
Per the written warranty, an exchange under warranty will be a new or refurbished iPhone without you being able to tell the difference.

  • Will apple replace my broken iphone4s if i have attempted to fix it at a local phoneshop

will apple replace my broken iphone 4s if ive tried to get it  fixed at a local phoneshop?

If your iPod Touch, iPhone, or iPad is Broken
Apple does not fix iDevices. Instead, they exchange yours for a refurbished or new replacement depending upon the age of your device and refurbished inventories. On rare occasions when there are no longer refurbished units for your older model, they may replace it with the next newer model.
You may take your device to an Apple retailer for help or you may call Customer Service and arrange to send your device to Apple:

There are third-party firms that do repairs on iDevices, and there are places where you can order parts to DIY if you feel up to the task. Start with Google to search for these.
