Apple tv can't find my photos since I switched from iPhoto to Photos

I recently switched from iPhoto to Photos on my imac which is running Yosemite 10.10.6. and since then my Apple TV version 2 can't find my photos. Also, the taskbar on Photos is nothing like they show in the description.

Have you changed your Home sharing settings in iTunes from iPhoto to Photos (iTunes > File > Home Sharing > Choose Photos...)

You need to provide more details about what happened. But, here is something you can check.
When you run Photo and it converts your library, it doesn't delete the iPhoto library. Look in your Pictures folder - you should see two libraries:
iPhoto Library.migratedphotolibrary (this is the original iPhoto library)
Photos Library.photoslibrary (this is the new Photos library)
You should still be able to open the original iPhoto library. The iPhoto application was not deleted from your computer. (It was probably removed from your Dock if you had an icon there.) Look in the Applications folder, find iPhoto, and run it. It should show your original library with all your original images.
It is always a good idea to back up your photos (and the iPhoto library) before trying these migrations. Problems do occur...

If you did not have Firefox before your bookmarks would be from Internet Explorer, if you chose IE.
It should have put what was in your bookmark toolbar in IE into your folder "'''Bookmarks Toolbar'''" which you can see in the bookmarks sidebar ("Ctrl+B") as one of three major folders -- "'''Bookmarks Toolbar'''", "'''Bookmarks Menu'''", and "'''Unsorted Bookmarks'''". You will probably find your favorites separated into each of those three folders.

Photos disappeared after migrating from iPhoto to Photos

I just upgraded to OS X 10.10.3 and the Photos App, however when I started to migrate my iPhoto libraries (have nine(9) libraries) no pictures show up on the third one I migrated. I checked and the migrated library file has been created (11.3 GB) however nothing shows up when I select the library file and open it.
Any suggestions by anyone would be appreciated.

Delete the migrated version, repair the Library with iPhoto and try again.
Option 1
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Repair Database. If that doesn't help, then try again, this time using Rebuild Database.
If that fails:
Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. (In early versions of Library Manager it's the File -> Rebuild command. In later versions it's under the Library menu.)
This will create an entirely new library. It will then copy (or try to) your photos and all the associated metadata and versions to this new Library, and arrange it as close as it can to what you had in the damaged Library. It does this based on information it finds in the iPhoto sharing mechanism - but that means that things not shared won't be there, so no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your events, albums and keywords, faces and places back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one.

How do I insert a photo into Microsoft Word from the new Photos app?

I have Word for Mac 2011 on my Macbook Pro with Retina and am now unable to simply go in and insert a picture into ANY Microsoft program since the update from iPhoto to Photos. I'm an archaeology grad student in the middle of multiple term projects that require countless Figures, almost all of which come from pics I took in the field that are all in Photos. These projects have to be submitted electronically, thus I cannot simply copy and paste everything into Pages (my professors all use PCs). I've found that I can insert an image into Pages and then copy and paste it to Word, but the quality is severely diminished.
Is there some way to change the settings on the Photos app to allow for image insertion? Or do I need to go in and somehow manually copy and re-save every photo into a separate folder outside of the Photos app?

Select a photo in Photos. Press COMMAND-C to copy. Go to your document location where you wish the pic to appear and press COMMAND-V.

Where are the "receipts" of the photos that I email from iPhoto? I have no record that I can find of these.

I am not using it in a "professional manner". Even I need to know who I sent that particular photo to and when and by the way, who are you to define what Apple meant by the design of its software? I think you overstep yourself here. I also think Apple has made every effort to lead people to believe that it serves a dual purpose as a personal as well as business tool. On my ipad mini, when I delete an email from the inbox (and it goes into Trash), it immediately deletes that email from the server (ATT/Yahoo). I've called support for both ATT and Apple and can't find a way to have the emails remain on the server.

Make sure the firewall and wifi router is not blocking it you can likely see if its the wifi router by connecting by etherent cable that would mean itsopen in terms of ports

Within the warranty period, unless the failure was caused by accidental damage it will be replaced for free.
