Asset Partial scraping

Hi,,
I have one asset whose value is say. Rs 8000. But the part of the asset is scrapped it becomes Rs 2000. So remaining Rs 6000 will go to gross block. In this scenario how I will partially scrap this asset value from total asset value rs 8000 and how it effect from MM stock side also ?
Kindly reply it.
With Regards,
Samrat

Hi Samrat,
The partially scrap asset will have no effect from MM Stock side.
You can do the partially scrap using t-code : ABAVN.
Do as follow:
1. In "transaction" tab, Input the date.
2. Go to "Partial Retirement" , input the amount 6000 in "amount posted".
Then choose one of this : "Prior Year acquisition" or "From current year acquisition".
If 8000 RS is acquired in prior year then you should choose "prior year acquisition". But if 8000 Rs is acquired in Current year than you should chose "From current year acquisition".
The journal, which is created by system, will be as follow :
Dr        Write Off (expense)                            6000-xxx
Dr         Accumulation of depreciation             xxxx
Cr         Asset                                             -6000
The "write off" account will be determined on your configuration in t-code : AO90.
Hope it helps.

  • AUC from Investment measure can't settle to the completed asset partially.

    Dear.
I using IM module and AUC which made from Investment measure.
and I post cost to Investment order and settle to AUC periodically.
Some amount In nvestment order should be tranfer to the completed asset. so remained amount in that should be keep going on.
But, Investment order settlement rule only can be maintained by FULL settlement method.
It means, all amount that accumulated in Investment order must be settled.
What I want to do is the partial amount settle to the completed asset and remains left in investment order.
Of course, this investment order keep its function as collect the amount of AUC.
    How can It be?

    Hi,
Use KOB5 - Give the settlement rule - mention the required amount and asset code
Use KO88 and settle the asset by selecting Settlement Type - Partial Settlement

  • Group Asset Partial Retirement

    Dear All,
I am using Group Assets and I would like to partially retire an asset attached to the group asset. The issue is that SAP is making a positive adjustment on the current year depreciation, and only this year's depreciation is incorrect. All the following years depreciate correctly, according to the newly calculated NBV. Does anyone know if there's something in Customizing that I can adjust or will my users have to manually re-adjust this?
    Thank you!
    Regards,
    E.

    Hi Sharif,
I think system is correctly posting to loss/gain account to the externt sales value and net book value difference. It should not go to asset logically, don't you think so? Why do you think it should go to asset?
I hope this clarifies your doubts.
    Thanks!!!

I have some difficulties in cancelling the fixed asset, in fact when I am doing, I would like to have the quote of depreciation up to the 30.10.2009 but when I am trying to do so, I get the quote of depreciation up to the 31.12.2009.
Could anyone explain to me in details, how can I do the depreciatrion up to the 20.10.2009?

  • Partial retirement by quantity in assets

    Hi
I would like to know how the system calculates the values if we retire assets partially by quantity. the asset has current and prior year acquisitions
please let me knwo the calculation procedure
    Thanks in advance
    Anand

    Hi,
    Acquire Quantity = 10 (2010) X 100 = 1000
    Partial Retire =  4 (2011)
    Dep for 2010 = 10% X 12 = 120
    Current 10 Quantity Value =  880
Now you Retaire Q u201C4u201D here system calculate Total Amount / Total Quantity X Retired Q  (800/10X4= 320)

  • Transfer capitalised Assets to Inventory items

    Hi,
There is a Material which is procured as ASSET & has been capitalised & available in books as ASSET. Now, there is a requirement to transfer this ASSET in value & quantity from Books of assets to Inventory. The transfer may be in parts also. Can anyone suggest the way to go about. Thanks.
    Regards,
    JND

    Hi
Use 242 movement type to convert asset into Inventory... This is the Standard approach... I dont think you need to separately scrap it.. Also, I dont think you can do 242 for partial value of the asset..
Another option is to do ABSO with 101 trans type and reduce the asset partially to a cost center and do a 202 movement type to generate inventory.. however, this would generate inventory at the material master price...

  • Partial Retirement Error

    Hi,
Asset Partial Retirement Transactions were posted to 3 Assets in the FY 2006, which was affected only in FI. Retirement values were not deducted from the APC & Depreciation was being changed on the value of APC without deducting the retirement value.
    Example:
APC at 2006 FY start is Rs.68110. Partial Retirement was posted on 01.04.2006 with Rs.54,488.00 & APC should become Rs.13622.00 at year end. But still it is showing as Rs.68110.00 ( but retirement amount Rs. 54488 is posted to Asset GL) & same is carry forwarded to Current FY.
how can i adjust the APC value in Asset Master only for the Current Fiscal Year.
    Regards,
    Shekar.

    Hi Shekar,
A lot of this depends on the accounting implications.
You could use transaction ABSO, transaction type 105, to reduce the cost of the asset.
    Thanks,
    Tammy

  • Fixed Asset Issue

    Dear SAP Gurus,
The problem is with regards to fixed assets accounting.  PR was raised for a new vehicle using an old vehicle code.  Subsequent postings therefore went into the old asset code itself.  This asset was fully depreciated and when the new vehicle was posted on to this code, the new vehicle also got fully depreciated.  We now have two vehicles under a single asset code with zero net book value.  I want to transfer the new asset on to a new code and also adjust the depreciation so that I can depreciate it over its useful life.
    Thanks and Regards,
    Yasir Khan

    Hi
You cannot post the manual JV while you are in AA. One option is by writting off the asset partially and then transferring it to new asset through ABZON. later you can do the posting of unplanned depreciation..

  • Mass transfering of assets into another depreciation book

    Hi All
    Please clarify my below query.
when an asset was initially capitalized in the wrong asset class. Asset master in the correct asset class should first be created and thereafter the values will be transferred via the transfer within company code function in the Fixed Assets module.
For example, 10 units of laptop were initially capitalized in one asset master with IT cost centre. If 5 units of the laptop need to be transferred to Finance cost centre, a new asset master in the same asset class will be created and partial transfer will be carried out for 5 units to the new asset master.
    1. is it possible to mass transfering of assets into another depreciation book if yes.
please provide me the necessary steps to do the above activities.
    Thanks & Regards
    K.Gunasekar.

    Hi,
It seems like you have an asset, with 10 Qty in an asset master.
Try to do asset partial transfer with ABUMN for 5 qty.
    Hope this might help you.

  • Please elaborate me the mechanism of Asset Retirement

    Hi,
Please elaborate me the mechanism of Asset Retirement
    Thanks

    Hi,
Please go thru the following document if it is helpful.
    Asset Retirement:
    Purpose
Asset retirement is the removal of an asset or part of an asset from the asset portfolio. This removal of an asset (or part of an asset) is posted from a bookkeeping perspective as an asset retirement. Depending on organizational considerations, or the business transaction which leads to the retirement, you can distinguish the following types of retirement:
An asset is sold, resulting in revenue being earned. The sale is posted with a customer.
An asset is sold, resulting in revenue being earned. The sale is posted against a clearing account.
An asset has to be scrapped, with no revenue earned.
An asset is sold to an affiliated company (refer to Manual Posting of Intercompany Asset Transfer/Retirement)
    Process Flow
There are transactions and transaction types in the system for these different retirement types.
    Asset Retirement
    Asset Sale with Customer
The system enables you to post the entry to Accounts Receivable, the revenue posting and the asset retirement in one step. In this posting transaction, you have to post the revenue (debit A/R, credit revenue from asset sale) first, and then post the asset retirement. An indicator in the posting transaction specifies that the system posts the asset retirement after the revenue posting.
The prerequisite for this is that the sales revenue account in Financial Accounting, to which the revenue should be posted, has a field status variant in its master data in which the Asset retirement field (category Asset Accounting) is defined as a required or optional entry field. You define the field status variant in Customizing for Financial Accounting (Financial Accounting Global Settings ® Document ® Line Item ® Controls).
    Posting of Gain or Loss
When you use the standard transaction types, the system automatically creates a gain posting or a loss posting, as well as a revenue clearing entry, in addition to the asset and accumulated depreciation correction postings. This gain/loss posting, as well as the revenue posting, are not dependent on the transaction type. The automatic creation of these postings is controlled by the Gain/loss from retirement indicator in the definition of the transaction type. You can also choose not to set this indicator, in which case you have to enter the postings manually.
In an exceptional situation, an integrated asset retirement with revenue can also be posted although the asset does not have APC in the master depreciation area.
For more information on ways of posting gain and loss, see Posting Gain/Loss.
    Retirement Without Revenue
A retirement without revenue is the removal of an asset from the asset portfolio without any revenue, for example, by scrapping. When you use this posting option, the system does not create revenue and gain/loss postings. Instead it creates a Loss from an asset retirement without revenue posting in the amount of the net book value being retired.
    Complete/Partial Retirement
An asset retirement can refer to an entire fixed asset (complete retirement) or part of a fixed asset (partial retirement). In both cases, the system automatically determines, using the asset retirement dates entered, the amounts to be charged off for each depreciation area. You can initiate the partial retirement of a fixed asset by entering one of the following:
The amount of the acquisition and production costs being retired
    A percentage rate
    A quantity
When you enter the amount of APC that is being retired, the system determines the percentage to be retired from the asset using the first depreciation area in which posting is to take place. It determines the percentage amount of APC being retired in that area, and uses the same percentage for other areas. You can enter a quantity, provided that you have not specified a retirement amount or percentage rate. The system interprets the quantity as a ratio to the total quantity of the asset and thereby determines the asset retirement percentage rate. If necessary, you can also manually correct the retirement amounts that were calculated by the system in individual depreciation areas. The system then recalculates the retirement amounts for that area, and any areas that are dependent on that area.
The asset value date of the retirement is recorded in the asset master record. You cannot post any transactions with a value date before the value date of the last retirement. If you nevertheless need to post such a transaction, you must first reverse all retirements that lie after the value date of the belated posting. After posting the belated transaction, you can then re-post the retirements.
    Transaction Type (Prior-Year Acquisitions/Current-Year Acquisitions)
Make sure that you select the correct transaction type for both partial and complete retirement. For the complete retirement of a fixed asset acquired in previous years, always select a transaction type intended for prior-year acquisitions. A partial retirement can always relate either to prior-year acquisitions or to current-year acquisitions.
The complete retirement of a fixed asset is only possible if all transactions to the asset were posted with a value date before the asset value date of asset retirement. You must clear or reverse down payments and investment support measures, which are in the same posting year as the retirement, before you post the complete retirement.
Prior-year asset acquisitions and current-year acquisitions are shown separately from one another in the document.
    Proportional Value Adjustments
Based on the value date and period control, the system automatically determines the reference period for the retirement. The system automatically determines any depreciation (value adjustments) that is applicable to the part of the asset being retired, up to the reference period (retirement). The system automatically retires this depreciation at the time of the retirement transaction. This procedure guarantees that the percentage of the book value that is retired is identical with the percentage of the acquisition and production costs that is retired.
    Graphic: Determining Proportional Value Adjustments
The system automatically posts the proportional value adjustments retired during an asset retirement. You can specify special transaction types for this automatic posting. You enter these transaction types in the Customizing definition of the retirement or transfer transaction types (Value adjustments function). These special transaction types for the proportional value adjustments are particularly important for group consolidations, so that the individual transaction can be identified as retirement of transfer.
The standard transaction types delivered by SAP are already defined in this way. The system uses the transaction type 290 for proportional values with retirements. For transfers it uses transaction types 390/395 (transfer retirement/acquisition).
    Retirement of Low Value Assets
There are special considerations for the retirement of low value assets (LVAs). It is usually necessary to simplify the business transactions involved, due to the large number of assets that are being retired. It is not necessary to actually post the retirement of low value assets in order for the assets transactions to be displayed correctly in the asset history sheet. It is possible to simulate the retirements of low value assets during a time period you specify. Enter the LVA asset classes and the simulation time period in the initial screen of the asset history sheet (see Asset History Sheet).
If you want to actually post the retirement of low value assets, use the usual procedure for asset retirements.
    Retiring Several Asset Subnumbers Simultaneously
The system enables you to post the complete retirement of several subnumbers of a fixed asset in one step (generic entry using an asterisk (*) in the subnumber field). The system performs asset postings and value adjustment postings for each sub-number.
Sales revenue is proportionally allocated to the individual sub-numbers according to their acquisition value (including revaluation).
Retirement of Assets with Investment Support
For information on the special concerns involved when retiring assets with investment support, see Investment Support on the Liabilities Side and Investment Support Managed on the Assets Side .
    Retirement Costs
It is possible to enter the costs of the retirement (for example, removal costs) for statistical purposes during the retirement posting. The standard report for asset retirements (Information System) then displays these costs in a special field. Note that gain/loss and retirement costs are shown separately in the report. In addition, the retirement costs are not automatically transferred to cost accounting.
    Mass Retirement
When an enterprise sells a large portion of its fixed assets (such as a plant or a building), it is necessary to post the retirement of all the individual assets which make up the whole. Since the number of affected assets can be very large, the Asset Accounting (FI-AA) component makes it possible to make the necessary postings using mass processing. For more information, see Mass Retirement.
    Thanks,
    Prithwiraj.

  • Need to settlem partial amount on AUC to final asset

    Dear SAP Experts,
I would like to seek guidance on how we can allow partial settlement to final asset.
For example, we have an ongoing project/WBS that has been settled to AUC, for example 1000 EUR (i.e. as of end of period 1)
Our controlling area currency is USD and the project/WBS is set for Summary settlement only.
NOw, we want to settle 2000 EUR to a final asset in period 1 but retain the rest in AUC to be settled on a different final asset that is yet to be determined.
Here is the current setting of our settlement profile:
To be settled in fule - active
    Indicators:
    100% validation - active
    % Settlement - active
    Equivalence Numbers - active
    Amount Settlement-  Active
Appreciate any input you can provide
    Thanks
    Aristotle

    HI,
    1. System needs validity periods for manually entered distribution rules & you have from & to periods to specify. They need not be identical. You can specify a validity period which starts in April & ends in June, for example.
    2. Combining the first & last lines of your latest post,
--You can execute Settlement multiple times within a period as long as you keep on posting  costs after each settlement.
-- What is the minimum period for you to settle ideally (daily / weekly) ?
-- As SAP (also Business Processes in general) distinguishes between periods (months), you can do one time settlement each month to simplify & standardize your process. It has got the same effect even if you settle daily / weekly.
(FI & MM period closing are monthly, as you know).
-- If you want to do another settlement for the same asset in the same period & only the "%" changes, then you may create another distribution rule or you can comibine the "%" in one rule itself.
    regards

  • Deletion of partially depreciated Asset

    Hello Friends,
Is it possible to delete assets which are partially depreciated and have residual life?
The reason is that it was created for a wrong Company code and now needs to be maintained for the correct Company code.
Though there might not be a standard fix, is there a better way to deal with this?
    Rgds
    Vijay

    Hi
i believe that SAP will not allow you to delete an asset no. which some deprecation has been posted .. but if you want to fix this issue you may use T-Code ABT1N - Inter company Asset Transfer to transfer the asset with its accumulated deprecation to the right company code ..
