    hi
i am using the T. code ABUMN for Assets transfer between one class to other with thin the same cpmpany  for the assets purchased during currenting year not posting give error message AA417, for old assets it is working.
pls help to solve this issue
    thanks and regards

    Hello all,
We are testing the transaction ABUMN in a system version ECC 6.0 with New G/L activated and, we have received an error message GLT2152 asking for an account determination...
We have custumized the characteristics for general ledgers activating Zero balance & Mandatory field's flags for Profit center and, just Zero balance for the Segment; additionally we created and customized the Zero-balance Clearing Account.
We also checked that all involved accounts were included in the "Classify G/L Accounts for Document Splitting" customizing icon and, that the document type generated by the asset transfer is included in the "Classify Document Types for Document Splitting" one...
I personally think that perphaps the system finds that each Asset has a different Cost center (linked to their own profit centers and segments) so it stops and wonders which one most be derived for the splitting document... The zero balance clearing account could be the solution but, I don't know why it is not working...
So, since there is not any SAP-Note nor info regarding this error message GLT2152, we appreciate any comment or guidance from you friends.
Thanks a lot in advance and, best regards,

  • [SOLVED]Simple file transfer between different os'es

    Hi
I'm searching for some kind of simple file transfer between different computers/os (mainly arch and windows) on local net, without I have to set up any samba/ftp server etc. It would be perfect if i could select a file I want to transfer and then be able to receive it on a different computer.
So far I've tried giver but I most of the times they can't find each other.

Try using simple file sharing through http server 'oneliner's.
    - Note your host IP (which I refer to by "ip.of.your.server"),
    - Go under your directory where you want to share files and fire a command line :
    Using python : python2 -m SimpleHTTPServer 8000
And you can access your files on the network using http://ip.of.your.server:8000/
    Using php : php -S localhost:8080 -t webrootpath/
Files under webrootpath/ will be accessible from http://ip.of.your.server:8888/
    Using mongoose : mongoose -r . -p 8888
Files will be accessible from http://ip.of.your.server:8888/
You may restrict access, ie.:  -l -0.0.0.0/0,+10.60.100.105
    And have access/error logging (à la apache) too : -a access_log.txt -e error_log.txt
NB.: You may install python or php under windows but mongoose is the easiest thing when it comes to windows -> linux.

  • Asset transfer between 2 profit center from same entity

    Hello dear all,
I wants to know if there is a clear process concerning transfer of asset between 2 Profit center of the same entity.
The user is not satisfied with the solution ABUMN (Transfer within company code).
The Problem is that a new asset number is created and the users doesn't want a new number
Can you help me or propose me other solution or process ?
    Thanks in advance for everyone
Edited by: Tarek AYACHI on Nov 17, 2009 11:47 AM

    Hi Tarek,
If you want the accounting flow also then I would suggest you to change the cost center in the asset master and use KB11N for reposting of depreciation from old cost center to new cost center. This way you would be able to transfer the depreciation already posted on that asset to new cost / profit center as well and also you don't need to create a new asset master.
Apart from this I don't think there is anyother way out.

  • Asset Posting date different in Book depreciation and IFRS depreciation.

    Hi SAP gurus,
i have a problem in Asset Accounting.
The posting date of the asset is taken as 05.05.2008 in Book depreciation and it is taken as 28.02.2008 in IFRS books..
How do I change the posting date to 05.05.2008 from 28.02.2008 in IFRS books.
I have tried to reverse the transaction in IFRS but these transactions have no effect on Fixed assets register.
    Please help me.
    Thanks
    Hari

    Hi Hari
Did u try to reverse thru FB08 or AB08
All Asset accounting documents posted which needs to be reversed should be reversed with AB08 not FB08.
Secondly I believe IFRS is one of your dep area. Did you do a transfer or acqusition and  what is the relation of IFRS dep area to Book dep area?

  • Intercomany Asset Transfer - Cross System

    Hi All,
We have a requirement to do intercompany transfer of assets across system. One company code is in one system and the other one is in different instance.

  • Asset Transfer - problems with incorrect depreciation values/period

    Hi,
I'm trying to do an asset transfer between two company codes with transaction ABT1N using the gross method.
My problem is that when the asset is transferred the number of depreciation periods restart in the receiving company but with the net value from the sending company.
    Example:
    Company 1100:
    Asset 1:
    Aquired: january 2005
    Value: 10 000 $
    Depreciation time: 5 year x 12 months = 60 periods
Transfer to company 1200 on july 2007...
    Depreciation in 1100 so far = 5 000 $
Net value to be transferred to CoCode 1200: 5 000 $
Here comes the problem, when I look at the depreciation time in company 1200 after the transfer, I see that the system now wants to depreciate the net value of 5 000 $ on another 60 periods period. This means that the asset will have a lifetime of 7,5 years in total instead of 5 years.
What I want to do is that after the transfer the depreciation should only by the the number of periods that is left from the original depreciation start in company 1100. This means that after the transfer there should only be 30 depreciation periods left in company 1200 on the transferred asset.
Thanks for response! I will add a lot of points to thoose that provides me with solution solving info.
    Best regards
    Carl-Johan

    Carl,
This is where you can influence the fileds to be transfered in the transfer variant [1-Gross in your case].
Asset Accounting>Transactions>Intercompany Asset Transfers>Automatic Intercompany Asset Transfers>Define Transfer Variants-->Specify Transfer of Fields (for New Asset in Target CoCd)
Select the variant 1-Gross method and then click on the Depreciation area on the left bar. The system will display the all the Depreciation area for the Chart of Depr in question. Here for each depreciation area you can dictate what values from the old asset need to be trf to the new asset.
In your case, the system is not transfering the remaining useful life. Precisely you need to transfer the field group 19-Expired useful life and 20-Expired life in periods.
That should do the needful for you.
    Have a nice day.

  • FI-AA: Assignment asset class to chart of depreciation

    Hi all,
does anybody know whether it's possible to assign asset classes to a specific chart of depreciation (or let's say to delete this assignment)?
The background of the question is the following: Some asset classes should not be used in some company codes. All these company codes use the same chart of depreciation, so I thought there must be a possibility to delete the assignment of this asset class to this chart of depreciation. Unfortunately, I haven't found this setting in the IMG.
The SAP Message no. AC 012 tells for example, that there is an assignment "asset class to chart of depreciation". This is the message:
In order to be able to assign chart-of-depreciation-dependent data to asset class 120204, the following conditions have to be met. You have to have already
    1. Defined at least two active charts of depreciation
    2. Assigned asset class 120204 to more than one chart of depreciation
However, at the moment this asset class is only assigned to chart of depreciation 1.
As we have definitely more than one active chart of depreciation, there must be this assignment, but how can I change it?
I've seen that I can set a block for an asset class in a chart of depreciation in transaction OAYZ (ANKB-XSPEB / Indicator: Block asset class chart of depreciation-specifc). But I think that I will still see the asset class in the match code search (F4) when I set this indicator.
Does anybody know how I can delete an asset class form a chart of depreciation so that it won't be found via match code search? I've checked almost the whole FI-AA tree but haven't found a solution...
    Thank you very much!
    Regards,
    Peter

    Hi Eric,
thanks for your answer. As far as I can see, the option "chart of depreciation only" in transaction AM05 has the same effect than the parameter "chart of depreciation" in transaction OAYZ.
As I receive a transport request via transaction AM05, it seems that this changes the same customizing table.
Fortunately, all company codes in this chart of depreciation need the same settings, so a validation rule seems not to be necessary.
It's just strange that there is no possibility to edit the assignment asset class to chart of depreciation in customizing (I think the assignment to all asset classes in the system will be created automatically when I copy the chart of depreciation). I think the only possibility would be to edit the respective tables manually (what I definitely won't do).
Another strange thing I see in the system: There are 2 asset classes 120203 and 120204, which are both set up equally. When I try to block these in AM05, I'll receive the error message AA 111 for asset class 120204, while the asset class 120203 can be blocked without problems. When I use matchcode search F4, I can see 120203 while 120204 is not found.
    Message AA111 is the following:
Chart of dep. 100 does not exist in class 120204 (Create chart of deprec.)
    Diagnosis
Chart of depreciation 100 does not exist in class 120204.
    Procedure
Create the chart of depreciation 100 for asset class 120204 using the transaction 'Create asset class' and the function 'Create chart of dep.'.
There is the assignment asset class to chart of depreciation.
When I check asset class 120204 in OAYZ (Determine Depreciation Areas in the Asset Class) I'll get the following message (I don't get this message when I check 120203):
Deprec. area 50 was changed and deactivated. Please check.
    Message no. AC 631
    Diagnosis
Depreciation area 50 was added to asset class 120204 because this depreciation area was newly created in Customizing.
    System Response
The system adds the new depreciation area to the asset class, but its status is 'deactivated.'
    Procedure
Check if this action by the system is correct. Maintain the depreciation areas in the asset class, and remove the 'deactivated' indicator there, if you choose.
For sure, depreciation area 50 was not newly created in customizing (as stated in the error message), as this depreciation are is in production for years! There must be another reason for this.
However, this says to me that the assignment asset class to chart of depreciation is created by SAP automatically and this can't be influenced.
Therefore I'll just block the asset class in the chart of depreciation with the disadvantage, that I'll see this asset class when I use the matchcode search F4 (e.g. in AS01). This seems to be the only solution.
Thanks again for your help (you got some points for that ;-).
    Regards,
    Peter

  • Unable to assign Chart of Depreciation to Company Code

    Dear Experts,
I am trying to assign newly created chart of depreciation to my company code but system is not allowing me giving the following error message:
"You cannot process company code ****, it contains assets".
When I go for F1, then further it says:
    Message no. AC507
    Diagnosis
You want to delete company code **** or assign company code **** to a different chart of depreciation.
However, at least one asset exists in company code ****.
    System Response
The action cannot be carried out.
    Procedure
Check the company code entry. You may have to reset the assets in this company code, if it is not in production operation.
Please note that I had previously created few assets and asset classes but asset classes have been deleted due to some reason.
I have now recreated asset classes but can't proceed to assign COD to company code because of above issue.
If I must delete existing assets within my company code then how to do it with minimum required steps.
    Looking for resolve.
    Regards

    Dear all who responded,
Thanks for your effort, advise & valuable time.
    Issue has been solved finally.
Key point was to delete all assets one by one using AS06 and then try to assign to COD to company code.
Within AS06 when you enter asset code & company code and then click "Delete Asset" button on top, system gives error message in tray. Here when I re-clicked "Delete Asset" button (ignoring error message) it worked and next screen appeared.
Then it was a usual activity to choose "Delete asset physically" button and save the transaction.
After deleting all assets one by one I was able to execute the primary purpose which was: "to assign the COD to my Company Code".

  • Issue in Depreciation Adjustment while Asset Transfer

    Hi,
We have some old legacy assets which is capitalized in 2010 and depreciating for the last 4 years, These old  assets contain the value of several different assets and the usefull life of the old asset is 50 years, Now we need to segregate these old asset to different new assets , my process contains
    1) Creating new assets with different asset class with different usefull life
    2) Transfer the respective value from the main asset to the new assets
    3) Adjustment of depreciation already posted.
Here i am facing some issues regarding the asset transfer , anybody suggest which is the best way to transfer the asset acquisition value to new assets ?
when i am using ABUMN to transfer the values , system posting depreciation value adjustment which is the alredy posted depreciation for the past 4 years with the usefull life as 50 years. Is there any methode to adjust these value ?
If i am posting Asset transfer with F-02 (with negative posting) , system will transfer the net book value and start the depreiation calculation based on the usefull life of the new asset. Here system is not considering the depreciation already posted.
Is it possible to make changes in the system where assets will consider the depreciation start date as 2010 (old asset depreciation start date), If i am manually changing the depreciation start date then system is calculating the depreciation start date as 1st period of the current year (because previous years are alredy closed),
instead of 5 years usefull life ,system depreciated the values with 50 years, i need to adjust the posted depreciation and when i create a new asset with usefull life of 5 years i need to manage the asset as already 4 years usefull life is expired.
    Is there any solution  ?

    Hi Ajay,
Case : We have an asset 1000, which contains a value of $ 100000, it was capitalizes in 2010 with usefull life of 50 years and past 4 years depreciating with 50 years usefull life, This is a legacy asset and contains the value of so mny different assets.
Now we need to create different assetd with different asset class and contains different usefull life, We need to transfer the value from Asset 1000 to these new created assets, here my concern is about the depreciation already posted to the asset 1000,
Assume my new assets value is $ 20000, i can transfer the value from asset 1000 to my new created asset. but here depreciation should be a problem because last 4 years depreciation is calculated as 20000 @ 50 years , but actual usefull life was 5 years.
Is there any methode to adjust the already posted depreciation.

  • Clarification Regarding Asset Accounting Chart of Depreciation Copy

    Hi,
We have a company code called ACT
For that we have a chart of depreciation assigned is ACT
Number Ranges are 1000000-1999999 (For Example)
Now we configured one more company code called RNC by Copying ACT company code and other settings from ACT company code only.
Clarification required - In Asset Accounting for Company code RNC we are plannint to assign chart of depreciation ACT as it is.
If we do like that - System will take the number ranges from the above ACT number ranges 1000000-1999999 ? or else system will take 1000000-1999999  number ranges from RNC company code? This is my doubt?
I think system will share the 1000000-1999999  number ranges in Asset accounting for both company codes ACT & RNC as we are using Same ACT chart of depreciation for Both company codes.
If we assign Same chart of Depreciation to both ACT and RNC company codes - Is it necessary to do any other configuration or no need to do any?
    Kindly clarify my doubt
    Thanks
    Supriya

    Hello,
Make sure that the both the company codes are in a single country before assigning the same chart of depreciation.
The number range of assets are defined at company code level. Meaning that you can have the same asset number in different company codes. The system will not share the number ranges across company codes.

  • Depreciation Problem after asset transfer

    Hi All,
During our month end, our user did the asset transfer within the same company code. When he runs the Depreciation through AFAB, the new asset is not showing any depreciation for current month, where as Old asset has some balance. I checked the new asset and in the Depreciation area, the Dep. start date is showing as 05/02/08. We changed the date to 03/02/2008 through AS02, but still it is not showing up any depreciation. I do have following questions.
    1. Can we transfer asset before depreciation run or run the depreciation first and then do the transfer. In our case we already transfered, so how do we fix it.
    2. I wonder how it is getting the Odep. start date as 05/04/08. Is it defined some where in Depreciation key/
    3. Can we run depreciation excluding that new asset. If so, how it can be done
Please let me know if anyone has come across this, and how to solve this.
    This is an urgent.
    Thanks
    Kris

    Hi Muriel,
I am very sure you did not do it correctly. Now, this is the step to follow:
    1. First adjust the APC value to what it should be using transaction code <b>ABSO</b>. Once you're sure that your Acquisition Value is correct, the next thing to do is
    2. To execute transaction <b>AFAB</b>(Depreciation Run) in "<b>Test Mode</b>". This would give you the depreciation that would be posted by the system asset by asset. This are under three main headings namely: "<b>Planned</b>", "<b>Posted</b>" & "<b>To Post</b>".
Depending on your depreciation method, the "<b>Planned</b>" figure gives the total amount the system would post for the financial year whilst the "<b>Posted</b>" figure gives you what has been posted up to date and the "<b>To Post</b>" figure gives you what would be charged to the P&L when you run <b>AFAB</b> in Production mode.
Your Net Book Value(NBV) at the end of the depreciation run for say November 2006 would be <b>NBV</b> = <b>APC</b> - (<b>Posted + To Post</b>)
If Posted + To Post (i.e. Accummulated Depreciation) is more or less than what you expect it to be from you manual calculation, you then need to adjust the figure upward or downward depending on the situation at hand. That is when you now need to
    3. Perform Manual Depreciation Adjustment using either transaction code <b>ABAA</b> or <b>ABMA</b>.
You can then use <b>AW01N</b> to view the asset. You would be able to see the different postings made. Do not forget to run <b>AFAB</b> in production mode. If not, no depreciation value would be posted and your report would still be wrong.
    I hope the above helps.
Do not forget to award the points please.

    Jacob
