Hi,
check your period control for transfers. If it is pro rata, then the system will keep apparently 2 periods of depreciaiton on the sending asset.

  • Asset Transfer with Asset depreciation Strat date

    Dear All,
I have a scenario where the asset depreciation needsto be calculated based on the asset transfer date,
For example if the asset accquired on 01.03.2011 and it is puts into used on 16.04.2011, tehn depreciation should be  calculated from 16.04.2011.
To achive the smae while creating the asset master i have created depreciation start date in future date. When ever I wil ldo the asset trasnfer throguh ZProgram it  will update the depreciaiton started with asset transfer date.
My problem is that if the same Asset get transfered from one location to other location that should be depreciated with the specified cost center from asset transfer date.
When Ever I do further transfer the system is considering the depreciation from transfer date only its ignoring  the previous date which are not posted  depreciation.
Please let me know is it the depreciation calculation will have with multiple transfer dates.

    Dear Mohan,
Generally the following points are relevant.
    1. Specify Transfer of Fields
    CU: FI-AA:
    -> Transactions
      -> Intercompany Asset Transfers
       -> Automatic Intercompany Asset Transfers
        -> Define Transfer Variants
-> Specify Transfer of Fields (for New Asset in Target CoCd)
          -> 03#Ord.dep.start date
If you mark "03#Ord.dep.start date ", the system is calculating
depreciation from the year  of capitalization.
    2. Transaction type: Indicator: Transfer adopting dep. start date
Indicator: Transfer adopting dep. start date
Set this indicator, if you want to adopt the historical depreciation
start date and capitalization date from the retiring asset when you
perform intercompany asset transfers or intracompany transfers.
    3. Also, could you please verify these setting in you system according
    to note 327088
    4. Period control of the depreciation key.

  • Asset Transfer with two company codes

    Hi
We have a requirement in which we need to transfer the asset from one company to another. However, there is VAT calulated on the transfer of asset from one company code to another. We need to create an invoice, calculate taxes and then transfer the asset. We do not have SD & MM  Module and we cannot create one company as a customer or vendor
    Regards
    Sanil Bhandari

    hi,
If the country is same for both the CCs, then you must have been assigned the same COD also to your CCs.
One thing i didnt understand is that, why this taxation is required while transfering an asset from one company code to another CC within the same country.
Because the COD will be maintained at country level.
And one more thing is that if both CCs were assingned to same company ID, then there would be no need of caluculating tax.
This asset transfer cannot be treated as a new asset purchase in the receiving company code, since it is just a internal transfer within a group company.
But still if you want to calculate tax, you have to manullay calculate the tax and need to post a JV.
Please correct if i am wrong....
    Thanks,
    Srinu

  • Intracompany asset transfer of depreciation only

We have some assets that were loaded with our legacy load.  They have no APC value, only Accumulated Depreciation.
Is it possible to partially transfer these assets to other assets Accumulated Depreciation that have APC without affecting the APC of receiving asset.
Also, if I wanted to transfer the one asset to many assets, does anyone have a suggestion.
    Thanks

Thanks Raj.  You are right, ABMA will work.  I was looking for something to allow me to transfer a large accumulated depreciation asset to the accumulated depreciation of many smaller assets.  I am talking about 1000's of assets so ABMA would be very time consuming.
I am thinking that my best alternative may be ABAP.

  • Asset transfer - Acc depreciation transferred i.s.o NBV only

    Hi,
User passed GL entries to the manual Asset cost account and Manual Accumulated depreciation accounts.  (Debit Accumulated depr and cr cost)  What entries can be processed to bring the assets in line with FI amounts?  I was thinking of ABSO, but I'm not sure which Transaction Type to use.  Can anyone assist?

    Hi Paul,
Thank you for your response, I managed to get a transaction ABZ0N TType 160.  In order for me to use this transaction, I had to change the configuration that it allows all values to be posted.  The only problem is that it decreases the NBV of my asset and that is not what I was looking for.  Do you know of any other transactions one can use that you don't have to enter an offsetting account as this seems to be the problem.  The entries must be as follow:  Cr Cost, Dt Acc depreciation, Cr depreciation - NBV must not change as well as the depreciation amount must not change.

  • Asset transfer with AC305 error

we are retiring one asset from one company code w/o revenue, the problem is the accounting posting, because it is default to clear revenue sale to affil. company, and it has to be a P&L account, if I use balance sheet account,
so my question is how to change to the balance sheet account same as receiving company code posting( that one is balance sheet account)
    it has below error:
Account MY00-1032990008 not allowed to be balance sheet account
    Message no. AC305
    Diagnosis
Account MY00 is defined as a balance sheet account in chart of accounts 1032990008. This definition is incorrect for the circumstance Clearing acct.revenue from sale to affiliated comp.
You should note that the Customizing definition of the respective depreciation area also has an influence on the consistency check for the general ledger accounts. This particularly affects depreciation areas that are set up for managing investment support measures on the liabilities side. In order for the consistency check to be correct, it is necessary for you to set the correct indicator in the definition of depreciation area.
    Procedure
Change the account definition or assign another account for the given circumstances

  • Issue in Depreciation Adjustment while Asset Transfer

    Hi,
We have some old legacy assets which is capitalized in 2010 and depreciating for the last 4 years, These old  assets contain the value of several different assets and the usefull life of the old asset is 50 years, Now we need to segregate these old asset to different new assets , my process contains
    1) Creating new assets with different asset class with different usefull life
    2) Transfer the respective value from the main asset to the new assets
    3) Adjustment of depreciation already posted.
Here i am facing some issues regarding the asset transfer , anybody suggest which is the best way to transfer the asset acquisition value to new assets ?
when i am using ABUMN to transfer the values , system posting depreciation value adjustment which is the alredy posted depreciation for the past 4 years with the usefull life as 50 years. Is there any methode to adjust these value ?
If i am posting Asset transfer with F-02 (with negative posting) , system will transfer the net book value and start the depreiation calculation based on the usefull life of the new asset. Here system is not considering the depreciation already posted.
Is it possible to make changes in the system where assets will consider the depreciation start date as 2010 (old asset depreciation start date), If i am manually changing the depreciation start date then system is calculating the depreciation start date as 1st period of the current year (because previous years are alredy closed),
instead of 5 years usefull life ,system depreciated the values with 50 years, i need to adjust the posted depreciation and when i create a new asset with usefull life of 5 years i need to manage the asset as already 4 years usefull life is expired.
    Is there any solution  ?

    Hi Ajay,
Case : We have an asset 1000, which contains a value of $ 100000, it was capitalizes in 2010 with usefull life of 50 years and past 4 years depreciating with 50 years usefull life, This is a legacy asset and contains the value of so mny different assets.
Now we need to create different assetd with different asset class and contains different usefull life, We need to transfer the value from Asset 1000 to these new created assets, here my concern is about the depreciation already posted to the asset 1000,
Assume my new assets value is $ 20000, i can transfer the value from asset 1000 to my new created asset. but here depreciation should be a problem because last 4 years depreciation is calculated as 20000 @ 50 years , but actual usefull life was 5 years.
Is there any methode to adjust the already posted depreciation.

  • Error in Transfer Asset Class-Incorrect depreciation calculation (FI)

System cannot proceed the asset transfer with ABUM transaction code because it will auto calculate depreciation based on acquisition value, supposely calculate depreciation base on net book value from date of transfer.
    The calculation should be :
    Acquisiton value (cost) = $54,430.92
    NBV as at Nov 08 = $31,749.92
Depn rate = 20% base on NBV from date of transfer
Useful life = 5 years start from date of transfer
After the asset transfer is done the system still calculates the depreciation based on original acquisition cost but not based on the NBV e.g $31,749.92 from the transfer date e.g 20/12/2008. The depreciation for asset after the transfer should be based on 20% for 5 years straight line method.
When i check in asset explorer the reporting figures (comparison tab)the depreciation figures are not correct. Pls assist me on this urgently need solutions. thanks lot gurus

  • ABT1N  Intercompany Asset Transfer  error: AA390   T type 230 not possible

    Dear experts,
I am trying to post an intercompany asset transfer with trx code ABT1N but when simulating the error code
Transaction type 230 not possible (posting to affiliated company) appears. This is the explanation of the error:
    Message no. AA390
    Diagnosis
For the current document, you specified either implicitly (via the
customer/vendor), or explicitly (with a manual entry), that this posting
is to an affiliated company. In this case, Asset Accounting requires you
to use special transaction types.  This enables the system to separately
         identify such transactions.
I do not understand the error because TType is "Retirement to affiliated company with revenue" so should be correct.
Does anybody know what could be wrong?
    Cheers

    Hi
    Firstly, check out Note 209643.
Secondly, please read the long text of the error message again. The
transaction type must be set as "post to affiliated company".  And
you must check back the followings :-
    1.  Please execcute function:  SAP IMG -> FI -> asset accounting ->
transaction -> specify default transaction type.
You can find the default transaction type for "retirement from
inter-company transfer" and "acquisition from inter-company
        transfer".
Then check in their definition whether they are relevant to
        affiliated company.
If they are NOT RELEVANT to affiliated company, you can
substitute them with other transaction type Relevant to affiliated
        company.
    2.  Please check the definition of transfer variant. In the transfer
variant, you have assigned the transaction type for both retirement
and acqusition for relation type 1. Both transaction types should be
set as "post to affiliated company" .
Please note that the abovementioned points must be checked because
the system logic will check the validity of the default value in
    Point 1.
Then the transaction type in the point 2 will be used instead and
    re-checked again.
Have you try to use 'No Reveune' in the specification for revenue?,
I think if it is afflicated companies, you are not allowed to use
    revenue.
This error can also be produced because a wrong definition of the trans-
fer variants. Please have a look on note 327088 for further details.
Most of the issues on this matter were solved with this last Note.
    Cheers, Blaz

  • One to Many Asset Transfer

    Hi,
For asset transfer within same co code, using TCODE ABUMN, in the mutiple assets tab, we cant use the same asset no more than once in the "From" assets column. Basically, we cant do One to Many asset transfer with this t-code.
Are there any workaround(s) for same, and any thoughts on why this was not allowed by SAP directly.
    Thanks
    Balla

    Dear,
Yes, your right. The same asset we cant use more than once, but if the main assets is having sub assets then you can transfer the same to the main as well as to its sub assets.
    Ex:
    Main Asset-Car
    Sub asset-engine 0
    Sub asset-Steering 1
So you can create number of sub assets to the main asset and at the time of transfer you can use the main as well as the sub assets.

  • Asset Transfer - problems with incorrect depreciation values/period

    Hi,
I'm trying to do an asset transfer between two company codes with transaction ABT1N using the gross method.
My problem is that when the asset is transferred the number of depreciation periods restart in the receiving company but with the net value from the sending company.
    Example:
    Company 1100:
    Asset 1:
    Aquired: january 2005
    Value: 10 000 $
    Depreciation time: 5 year x 12 months = 60 periods
Transfer to company 1200 on july 2007...
    Depreciation in 1100 so far = 5 000 $
Net value to be transferred to CoCode 1200: 5 000 $
Here comes the problem, when I look at the depreciation time in company 1200 after the transfer, I see that the system now wants to depreciate the net value of 5 000 $ on another 60 periods period. This means that the asset will have a lifetime of 7,5 years in total instead of 5 years.
What I want to do is that after the transfer the depreciation should only by the the number of periods that is left from the original depreciation start in company 1100. This means that after the transfer there should only be 30 depreciation periods left in company 1200 on the transferred asset.
Thanks for response! I will add a lot of points to thoose that provides me with solution solving info.
    Best regards
    Carl-Johan

    Carl,
This is where you can influence the fileds to be transfered in the transfer variant [1-Gross in your case].
Asset Accounting>Transactions>Intercompany Asset Transfers>Automatic Intercompany Asset Transfers>Define Transfer Variants-->Specify Transfer of Fields (for New Asset in Target CoCd)
Select the variant 1-Gross method and then click on the Depreciation area on the left bar. The system will display the all the Depreciation area for the Chart of Depr in question. Here for each depreciation area you can dictate what values from the old asset need to be trf to the new asset.
In your case, the system is not transfering the remaining useful life. Precisely you need to transfer the field group 19-Expired useful life and 20-Expired life in periods.
That should do the needful for you.
    Have a nice day.
    Vishal Thakur.

  • Asset Transfer Report with matching new asset number

    Hi,
During the past week, our company transferred over 2000 assets from several companies to one company. As a result of the transfer, the tax depreciation keys and tax depreciation life weren't carried over to the new assets. I am wondering if anyone here know how can I generate a asset transfer report with one column listing all transferred out assets and another column listing matching transferred in assets? I used ZFI_INTERCOASTR- Intercompany Asset Transfer, it gave me a transfer report with all the transfer in and transfer out in one column.
Edited by: Peggy Wang on Nov 24, 2009 3:40 PM

    Hi,
you can create yourself an ABAP Query on logical database ADA. In node ANEK you have per each (transfer) transaction the information from which asset the transfer was done.  With the ABAP Query you can configure your output list completely flexible.

  • Asset Transfer to another Plant without transferring Accum. Depreciation

Our Client has some special requirement in Asset Accounting.
Suppose he has an Asset at Plant A with Original Cost - 1,00,000/- & Accumulated Depreciation of 40,000/-.
He wants to transfer it to Plant B at 60,000/- & 40,000/- Accumulated depreciation to remain in plant A(old plant).
But When we use TCode - ABUMN - Asset Transfer within a Company Code,
it transfers both 1,00,000/- Original Cost & 40,000/- Accumulated Depreciation thereon to new plant(plant B).
