Assign sim card to number?

I have a new 4G sim card, I need to link it to my number  so I can activate the new phone.  Where or how can this be done? Thanks in advance!

Log on to your account at verizonwireless.com and choose "Switch devices".  Have the SIM card handy to put in the number when asked.  You'll also need the IMEI of the phone  (on the box, or on the phone itself).  Make sure theold phone is totally off; you may need Customer service assistance  800-922-0204.

  • What is my new sim cards phone number

ive just purchased an orange pay as you go sim card and want to activate it but cannot because nowhere on anything in the simcard pack or on the sim itself does it tell me what the actual mobile phone number is,when i put it in my phone and navigate through the settings to see my new phone number it says unknown number, where can i find the phone number?

This depends on what Orange SIM you have. You could have a pre-activated SIM or you could have a SIM that needs to be activated on the EE website.
If your phone is on and shows service (EE with either G, E or 3G), text the word number to 150.
If your SIM needs to be activated, you can use Orange's PAYG SIM activation tool here.

  • Contacts and new sim card and number

I am getting a new sim card with a new phone company and a new number but I do not want to loose my messages, contacts, calendar items and emails and notes.
So how do i go about being able to sync them to my phone once I install the new sim card?

Changing the SIM card will not effect your data as an iPhone does not store any data on the card.  If you're concerned, create a backup before changing the card.

  • How to find SIM card phone number?

    Hi,
how do I find out the phone number associated to the MicroSIM card in my iPad 3G+WiFi? I suppose I could put the SIM card into a mobile and call someone... but there must be some way to display my number on iPad?
I'm aware that the iPad does not allow for calls or SMS, I just need the number to register for the online billing (Vodafone Germany).

Go to Settings, Cellular data, View account (making sure cellular data is "ON"), Account info will open, forcing login. The number will be displayed in the pop-up window after you log into the account.

  • IMessage SIM card switch on same iPhone 4

I upgraded my iPhone 4 to iOS5 while having a SIM card I use when I travel inside the phone. When I switched to my regular SIM card, the delivery number didn't change (in iMessage settings I see my email and my old SIM card telephone number) Any idea how I can change the number without restoring?

It's on the right side as you face the phone. Unless you have a Sprint or Verizon phone, in which case it does not have one.

The SIM card that you currently have installed in this iPhone is from a carrier that is not supported under the activation policy that is currently assigned by the activation server. This is not a hardware issue with the iPhone. Please insert another SIM card from a supported carrier or request that this iPhone be unlocked by your carrier. Please contact Apple for more information
    what can in do?

Well unfortunatly that advice does not always work. I bought a unlocked iphone4  from apple several years ago and went to att on a no contract basis. Six months later the phone crashed while updating the operating system. Apple replaced the phone with a new one. All is fine till I got a iphone5 and gave te phone to my cousin. The phone is now locked to att but att says the IMEI number is not a valid ATT IMEI and therfore cant unlock it. Apple says there is nothing They can or are willing to do so now I am stuck for a 600.00 phone that can't be used.
If anyoun knows a way naround this situation mI would appreciate a heads up.

  • The salesperson for my iphone 4 said on Christmas morning we could go to our online account, select my number, select to change my SIM card, and enter the ICCID number so that I'd be able to use my iphone 4 today. I have not seen any such steps. Help?

The salesperson for my iphone 4 said on Christmas morning we could go to our online account, select my number, select to change my SIM card, and enter the ICCID number so that I'd be able to use my iphone 4 today instead of my old phone (not an iphone). I have not seen any such steps. Help?

I suspect the salesperson that told you that meant your online account with your carrier...have you tried logging into your carrier account online? To do this will require the sim number on your sim card, as well as the phone's IMEI number...you get the sim number off the sim card & the IMEI number, for the phone, is printed on the box.

  • How to know my IPhone 4 Serial Number Without a Sim Card

I am currently here at Philippines and my IPhone 4 was buy in Canada and I Can't Use it Because I'ts not been Unlock yet and I Want to know my Serial Number and I Don't Know if it is a Original or Fake Please help,
I you say Connect to your computer and check it on your iTunes Sorry to say but I don't Have Any Valid Sim Card For my iPhone and the only thing I can see is my IMEI by pressing the Letter i when I open my iPhone

You can't. You need a valid SIM to activate the phone.
Note for the future that it's not usually an effective way to get help here by posting an unrelated question in a two-year-old thread. It's best if you start your own topic.

  • How can I set up two iPhones with the same contact, photos, music etc... but a different sim card and phone number. They will both be my phones, but one will be for use in other countries.

Phone A = phone with information you want duplicated
Phone B = phone that you want to copy from A
    Backup Phone A.
Wipe Phone B using these instructions. What to do before selling or giving away your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support
Phone B should be on the 'Hello' screen. Do not swipe it. Launch iTunes. Plug in Phone B.
When iTunes asks if you want to set up as new phone or restore from backup, choose restore from backup of Phone A.
After this setup, any changes to one phone (i.e. adding a contact, downloading an app) will have to be manually duplicated on the second phone, if that is your desire). Making changes to one phone will not affect the other after setup.

  • Copying contacts name and number onto SIM card

Hi. Firstly I know there are topics* on this, albeit outdated and offer no real solutions.
    This issue need serious attention.
    Scenario
BB Curve scroller is broke, can't scroll up/down.
Backed up my contact list to restore later when I get my fixed phone back.
Meanwhile, to use a replacement phone, I will need some contact names + numbers on my SIM.
I cannot count on the replacement being a BB, don't count on sync.
    Solutions
Copying a few contacts one-by-one is _not_ an option, without a scroller this is impossible.
Example: Home screen > press "c" for contacts -> filter to contact > menu > press "v" to select view > can't scroll to the number to actualize the 'copy to SIM' menu action.
So, how can I copy my contacts to the SIM card?
    Notes
Reading the older threads, there is very unhelpful biased rude remarks about how this requested "feature" is not 'important' enough or a real requirement for modern phones.
I say this house is built on wobbly foundations. This is the base of HID (human interaction devices), cross communication and transfer of data.
I'm disappointed in RIM for locking down the device in such a way - so many folks ask for this feature, because it is a standard around since the first of cellular phones.
SIM card may only have 32K of storage, but I still expect them to keep a name and a number if I need.

Unfortunately, I don't either. If you delete the MobileMe account from the iPhone, I believe you'll erase all of the contact info on the iPhone. If it's not in MobileMe either...well, that's not good!
One possibility for the contacts data (but not the calendar data). Contacts are backed up when you sync the iPhone (not to your Address Book via sync with MobileMe active, but in the iPhone backup made by iTunes before a sync). There's 3rd party app, MobileSyncBroswer, which can export the contact info from the iPhone's backup file on your hard drive. You'd need to buy a license to actually export the contact data, the free version lets you see part of the contact info so you can make sure it's there.

  • I have purchased an Iphone 4 in Dubai two years ago. The model number is MC319LL. And unfortunately, I attempted to upgrade it online to a newer version 5.0.1(9A405) but right away my sim card was blocked. I can no longer use the telephone.

    Dear Sir:
Two years ago I have purchased an Iphone 4 here in Carrefour Supermarket, Dubai UAE. The model number is MC319LL. Unfortunately last November 2011, I attempted to upgrade the OS to 5.0.1 but rightaway, my sim card(Etisalat UAE service provider) was blocked. As a result, I can no longer use the telephone function. I just found out recently that this model number .i.e.MC319LL is to be used for AT&T. My question is, how can I restore my unit to work as a celphone? And why is it that when I upgraded it, it was blocked. Was it illegal to sell this phone in the UAE market?
    Thanks a lot.
    Kathleen Jewel

You purchased a "hacked" iPhone(hacked to unlock it) from a non-official source for iPhones. Unfortunately, that's the risk you take when you purchase from a non-official source. There is no way to get your phone officially unlocked, & all warranty & support has been voided. Sorry, but you don't have any good choices here. Your best bet is to go back to Carrefour Supermarket & get your money back, then purchase an iPhone from an official source. If they won't give you your money back, have them "fix" your phone...they will have to "hack" it again. Good luck.

  • If an Iphone4s is stolen, and the person took out my SIM card and restored it to factory settings, can my service provider still track it? I don't know my IMEI number if that is needed

someone stole my friend's Iphone4s today, and I want to know if it can be traced if the person took out the SIM card and restored it. I also want to know if her service provider can block the phone from use if there is no SIM in there and it is restored. thanks.

It cannot be traced. The service provider can block registration of the phone if it is a US carrier based on the IMEI. If you have the serial number Apple can tell you the IMEI. However, many stolen phones are shipped to other countries, where IMEI blocking for phones from other countries may not be honored. And a sophistcated thief or fence can change the IMEI.
If your friend did not have a passcode lock on the phone they should immediately change all passwords for email, twitter, facebook, bank sites - essentially anywhere that they use a password. Even if the phone had a passcode lock it is safer to change the passwords.

  • I don't understand why my sim card has a new phone number

I was with T-Mobile on a sim-only monthly contract. This was due to expire, and naturally my new contract is with EE due to the merge. I was told, after agreeing on a new sim-only contract, that the sim card that would be sent to me would have my usual phone number on it, saving the hassle of informing everyone of a new number. However, I just put it in my phone and it has a totally new number associated with it. Is this a mistake that I need to phone EE to correct, or do I just need to wait a few days?

Hi. I have also just upgraded from Orange to an EE phone/plan today. My new SIM also has a new number associated with it at the moment. How long does it usually take for my regular number to move across to the new SIM. I'm currently using both phones, which is no problem. Was just wondering when my regular number will be active on my new phone?
