Assigning Componets to operation in PM.

Hi All,
While creating task list(tcode IA05), i need to assign Componets to operation activity. Now in the componet assignment, the material deatils(material, quantity etc) are to be picked from different storage location of same plant( as same material is present in more than one storage location within same plant). But here the problem is that the storage location field "Sloc" is uneditable i.e grayed. How to select material from multiple storage location?
Thanks
Deb

Debrata,
The storage location field is not available for a task list component.  One option you may want to explore is to use the supply area functionality for a work center.  This is a way of setting the storage location for a component in a work order based on the work center assigned to the operation.  You create supply areas in PK05 and then assign them to work centers in IR02.
Hope this helps!

    hi
i think you cannot able to assign the storage location in the task list ,since it is used for planning you cannot plan for particular storage location ,you can use customer exit in the maintenance order to determine the storage location

  • Component materials incorrectly assigned to superior operation in process order

One of my manufacturing facilities is having a problem with components not printing on process order output.
In all cases, the master recipes themselves look fine when reviewed in C203.  The components are properly allocated to phases (not superior operations).  But when the process orders are generated, certain components are being assigned in the process orders themselves to the first superior operation, instead of to the phase that is indicated in the master recipe.  Here is an example.
Here is the master recipe operation information as seen in C203:
And here is the material assignment list as seen in C203.  Note that component material MM6030 is assigned to Phase 0035:
But when the process order is created, that same component material MM6030 is now assigned to superior operation 0001:
Here is some additional information that I was able to eke out of the folks at the manufacturing facility:
The operations in the master recipe did NOT originally contain operation 0001.  It was added to the recipe in C202 after the recipe was initially saved.
Component Material MM6030 was not originally part of the BOM.  It was added via C202 after the recipe was initially saved.  A different material was originally in its place, and was assigned to a different phase.  After the MM6030 was added to the BOM, the assignment field was blank, and the user assigned it to phase 0035.
Has anyone ever encountered a similar issue?  If so, how was it resolved?

    Hi ,
Possibility  , in C202 , user may have changes the BOM first and re-assign the phase  but in process order level Read PP master did not call
Another possibility manually change the process order component and assign this in Phase in COR2 .Please check  whether it has been added manually in order level .

  • PRT assignment to an operation

    Hi Everyone,
Is there any Function module or BAPI available for checking whether a PRT is assigned to an operation?
    Regards,
    Swati

All the deatils including the PRT assignment of a plan can be read thro' FM: CP_EX_PLAN_READ.
if you use this FM in your prg, do not forget to make a call to FM: CP_EX_DATA_REFRESH for flushing the buffer.

  • Assignment of Reference Operation set to routing.

    Dear Experts,
This is regarding the assignment of a reference operation set to a routing. We have one ref. op. set which is applicable for some 30 variants of our products. Now, we need to assign this ref. op. set to the existing routing. The follwoing points are to be taken care of:
    1. Set up, m/c time, etc are allocated based on the operation number.
    2. Change in the operation number leads to the change in these values. This is not acceptable.
Now when assigning the ref.  op. set to the routing using the t. code. CA02, the systems asks for operation increment  say 0010 (mandatory field). If we accept this value, the operation number  follows a different sequence. Consequently, the setup, m/c times gets upset. This is due to upsetting of the operation number sequence.
How can we assign the ref. op. set to the routing without upsetting the operation number sequence i.e., copying the operations as it is in the ref. op. set.
    Pl. suggest.
    Regards,
    Pradeep Santara

    Dear Sharavan,
Probably, i have not been able to explain the issue. I will give it another try..
Say for the ref. Op. Set the operation sequence is 12, 14, 19...so on
But when we assign the Ref. Op. set to the routing CA02, the at the intial screen we come across one mandatory field "operation srl. no. increment", if we use 0010 in that field . The system copies the ref. Op. set with operation serial nos. starting 00,0010,0020 onwards and not in the order of 12, 14, 19....so on...
If still not clear pl. revert

  • Assigning objects to operations

    Hi everyone,
question about assignments of FL/EQ to individual operations
I know that with EHP4 you can get that functionality enabled for inspection rounds..
however, I am recalling reading somewhere, it could also be done in standard..browsed sdn forum, nothing found around it..maybe I am mixing something else..
so, if I have in SPRO 'Assignment of operations to all object list active', it would still be greyed out..
    Any siggestion/comments?
    Thanks in advance

    Hi,
Once you define the operations & Equipments in Object List in Maintenance Order, in Object List tab, there would be assignment button at the bottom. By using that, you can assign the operations to Equipments.
In Operation General Data, you can view the equipment assigned to that.
As you mentioned, thats the only config required for that functionality.

  • Components assignment to Sub operation

    Hi Gurus
I have a situation where i need to assign a components to Sub operations. System is not showing any sub operations to assign to BOM components.
My client wants the sub operations to be created and some components assigned to it. So when milestone confirmation is done for the primary operation all the components and the operations should get backflushed.
Please suggest if there is any configuration step needed for this.
    Thanks in advance

  • More than one country assign to one operating concern

    Dear Experts,
I have created one controlling area for dubai entity and one operating concern for dubai.
now i am planning for country roll out so i have 10 countries for roll-out and all countries head office belong to dubai.
so i am planning to maintain USD as controlling area currency as well as operating concern currency along with company code currency tick in operating concern and assign all other countries to dubai operating concern and dubai controlling area.
Becoz management want to see reporting in USD as well as company code currency.
but reporting in CO comes under controlling area currency and most of the CO transaction reflects in controlling area currency like assessment and allocation where system takes controlling area currency by default .
any other point i am missing? and also how to see all CO reports in company code currency and how to do assessment in company code currency as well.?
your help will be highly appreciated.
    regards
    RK

    Hi
All CO reports are visible in both currencies i.e. Contr area and Comp Code currency.. Just select company code currency in RPC0 for Cost centers and RPO0 for Order related reports
After executing Allocation, you can use the menu options and choose a layout for Displaying in OBJECT CURRENCY which means Comp Code currency
While calculating activity prices, you need to click on the settings Tab and tick the check box "Iterate amounts independently"
You can adopt single contr area provided all companies have same Fiscal Year and Chart of Accounts...
If any of the company has a different FYV, its better to have a separate contr area for them. Though using new GL you can have single contr area in that case also - My personal exp says its better to have separtae in that case

  • Resource assignment for two operation

    People!!!
    Please help
    There are two operation:
    Check book duration 2 days
    Read book duration 2 days
For 1st operation I would like to assign two Inst technicians
For 2nd  operation I would like to assign two Inst technicians
12 hours is working hours for both operation but two technicians work 6 hours for operation 1, and 6 hours for operation 2 on the second day of work
How to assign them properly, the system currently calculated the total hours as 96 hours but it must be 72
Your prompt feedback is highly desirable))))

How many hours per day are working time in your schedule?  It sounds like you have a 24 hours scheduled set up.
If I have a 12 hour per day schedule (8 am to 8 pm) Sunday through Saturday I show this:
Check book - duration = 1.5 days  starts Jan 25 at 8:00 am ends Jan 26 at 2:00 pm
Read book - duration = 1.5 days start Jan 26 at 2:00 pm ends Jan 27 at 8:00 pm
Both resources are assigned to the task for 18 hours of work.
In total there are 24 hours of work for Jan 25 (all on Check booK), 24 hours of Work on Jan 26 (12 hours on Check Book and 12 Hours on Read Book), and 24 hours of work on Jan 27 (all on read book).
    Task are auto scheduled.

  • Assign Work order & Operation to individual technician

    Hello,
I would like to assign a work order and the operation in the work order to a technician name.
At the order header, i can enter a person responsible.
At the operation, I can also enter a person responsible.
I am wonder where is this person responsible maintained?  I do not have HR module implemented?  Can i use this person responsible without HR?  is there any suggestion how to use assign order & operation to individual?
    Thanks a million.

    Hi,
On the standard config, this is the personnel number maintained in HR. If you don't have HR, you may want to consider implementing mini HR.
The other option is to work around the same
For Order header: Create the employees as different partner types and use Assign the different partner type for Order header. For ex: User (SAP Logon ID), Create the employee as a different vendor type or Customer type (Special types / category to differentiate normal vendor / customer), Create them as different positions)
For Order operation: Use the enhancement tab to create a New field key.You configure to use one of the standard available fields for the same partner assigned on the order header and use the standard user exit for F4 (IWO10015 )and validations(IWO100156) on data entry.
Once you have HR implemented then you may have to switch back to the standard process for more flexibility.
