Asynchronous FDK Client (FDK8) connection to Frame Maker Process

Dear Sir:
Product: Windows Frame Maker 8, Windows FDK 8, Windows XP 2002, Service Pack 2, 1.99 GB of RAM.
1. If I would like to do a Frame Maker 8 created XDocBook XML file to RTF without manual intervention, like Open Frame Maker and do SaveAs as .rtf, I would like to know if write an Asynchronous FDK Client which could connect to the registered Frame Maker process and perform Open and SaveAs is the direction to go? If not, what should I do? Our project would like to run an batch process that can be called to do the conversion.
2. If followed all the steps, from pages 41 to 54, in FDK 7.2 Platform Guide, Windows. I compiled and run the sample program on pages 51-52. Things look good until line 42. The Frame Maker was up, but I got the "No connection: xxx" for my Frame Maker process after I called the "if (!F_ApiAlive())". The GUID for the registered process is "{0FAE997D-FCA0-4C84-8574-27676C0F4E79}". After line 38, I got "fae997d" for the pclsid. if the conversion is correct or wrong? What's might be the problem?

Thank you for your reply. After a few more twists, I made the connection between my asynchronous client and FM, and I got the positive return from "F_ApiAlive()". So that's great.
BTW, have you done any things like batch conversion for one file format to other file format, like from .XML to .rtf on Windows? If so, how do you do it?

Can I find out how many clients are connected to a server process?

Hi, I am hoping I can find out how many clients are connected to a server process. This could be either a programmatic lookout number, a number in a log file etc.
By the way, does lookout have any application (not data) logs? I have noticed that occasionally lookout will crash and I cannot find any logs to determine why, what processes were running, who last accessed it etc.

Query about Frame maker 11

Hi All
This is regarding a query about Frame maker 11.
I have seen the in the FDK guide of FM 11 which states that "To compile FDK clients for Windows, you must use Microsoft Visual Studio 2010."
So do we need a separate installation of Microsoft Visual Studio 2010 in order to develop/compile FDK clients apart from FM11 installation or is its a part of FM11 software?
could you please any one can clarify on this .

AFAIK, you have to supply your own IDE & compiler.

Windows 7 Pro Client loses connectivity to internal Win2k8 web server

1. affected workstation are Optiplex 380 running Win 7 pro sp1 with broadcom NICs.
2. Internal users use a internal webserver for customer invoicing application. Users lose connectivity to this internal web server, all other networking works, network shares, internet, etc. If I try to ping the webserver IP I get no reply. XP
machines are not affected. Not a DHCP issue as there are plenty of IPs.
3. I have tried different internal NICs (3com) but still had issue. I have upgraded BIOS, nic drivers. etc.
4. I rebuilt one of the machines using Windows XP pro sp3 and have had no issue with that workstation.
the problem started a few months or so ago. I have not been able to determine the source. I tried running wireshark but nothing stuck out. I have changed the session settings on the IIS server from 15 minutes to 6 hours but did not make a difference.
5. Today when client lost connectivity to the server I tried pinging from the server back to the client and the connection was restored. This issue really has me confused as I cannot find anything in the logs that sticks out.

Remote access VPN client gets connected fails on hosts in LAN

Hi,
VPN client gets connected fine, I have a inter VLAN routing happening on the switch in the LAN so all the LAN hosts have gateway IP on the switch, I have the defult route pointing to ASA inside interface on the switch, the switch I can reach after Remote Access VPN is connected how ever I cannot ping/connect to other hosts in the LAN and if I make the gateway point to the ASA then that host is accessible, any suggestions? I really want to have gateway to be the Switch as I have other networks reachable through the Switch (Intranet routing)

We don't need route print on the PC for now as I can explain what is happening I can get complete access to the 192.168.2.0/24 (VLAN 1000) but for 192.9.200.0/24 (VLAN 4000) above from the switch I can only ping IP's on the switches/pair but cannot have any tcp connections, which explains the default route being pointed on the switch is on VLAN 1000, now my issue is How do I get access to VLAN 4000 as you can see these two are on different Interfaces/zones on the ASA and please note with default gateway pointing to ASA I will have access to both the VLAN's it is only when I move the gateway pointing to Switch I loose tcp connections to one VLAN depending on the default route on the being pointing to on the switch.
So we are left to do with how to on the switch with default route.

VPN clients can connect via SSTP but not IKEv2 due to error 808

I have a Windows Server 2012 R2 with RRAS configured to allow SSTP / IKEv2 VPN connections. I'm using an external certificate for server authentication and the client authentication is done via domain username/password (Protected EAP). The clients can
connect successfully when using SSTP, but if IKEv2 is selected, then the following error is displayed:
Error 808:
The network connection between your computer and the VPN server could not be established because the remote server refused the connection. This is typically caused by a mismatch between the server's configuration and your connection settings. Please
contact the remote server's Administrator to verify the server configuration and your connection settings.
My external certificate has the Server Authentication EKU but not the IP security IKE intermediate, however it's the only
certificate installed, so I believe the certificate is OK.
Any ideas on what is causing the error?

What NAT device you are using? You must configure the IKEv2 related protocol on your NAT device too. For example if you are using the Cisco® NAT device you must
enable the IKEv2 support on the outside interface:

Monitor how many client is connected

How can I monitor how many clients is connected to my statefull controller bean? I want to used it as a part of my license application.
I have tried to make a static variable "clients" which increase when ejbcreate is called and decrease when ejbremove is called. But this solution is not realible? Any other solution?

Hi...why dont you keep a counter in the class / java bean which calls this stateful controller bean ? That way each hit would be registered and you wont be relying on instance creations for an actual count.
Just a thought.

Client wont connect to closest AP

hi every one
this is the second post. the first one is missing!
long story short, client connection is random. doesnt connect to the closest AP.
i have situation like 40 clients connected to one AP and 2 meter away an AP only servicing 4 !
i have wlc 5508 and 100 AP. i tried aggressive load balancing and end up having more issue! tried restrict an AP to 25 but no use i can see some AP servicing 40 clients no matter what i define. i disabled the slow data rate nothing happened. i have none CCX clients but on few CCX client no difference and same result
is there anyone who can tell me how to force the client to connect to closest AP?

Thanks. I think you are making a valid point. here we are a school and have multiple brand laptops. some of them has the aggressive mobility feature. some dont. I start to play with a test machine and see if it actually makes a difference
on the WLC the DCA is set to auti but the TPCv2 is enabled. I changed it to v1 and im going to test it now. I'll keep you posted as soon as the test finished.

I've a problem, i want to get the ip the client is using to connect to my server (i'm behind a router).
For example: A client is connecting to my server on network (ip: 192.168.2.3)
Server says: You're connecting to ip 192.168.2.3
A client is connecting to my server on Internet (ip: 84.xx.xx.xx)
Server says: You're connecting to ip 84.xx.xx.xx.
(I don't want to fetch the public ip from whatsmyip.org)

6.1 Client cannot connect 6.5 Server?

We have two versions of Essbase Server. One is 6.1 and the other is 6.5. We want to connect both server using only one set of client software. I cannot connect to 6.1 server using 6.5 client software, it said version problem or something like this. When I connect 6.5 Server using 6.1 client software, I cannot connect the server at all, it said tcp/ip problem. I can ping or telnet to the server OS. Is it possible for me to connect both 6.1 and 6.5 server using the same client software?

Generally, client software is "forwards compatible" meaning an older client can usually connect to an older server. The reverse is not true, unless you are on Essbase 6.2 or greater (the Essbase 6.5 API can talk down to a 6.2 server, but not any older).When clients are looking to upgrade, I tell them that - but in the same sentence recommend keeping client software on the same version/patch as the Essbase server. Issues like the one you are having illustrate the types of issues you can encounter - and Hyperion will just tell you to use the proper client version.That aside - one thing to check for - Essbase 6.5 allows a DBA to change the listening port of the server. The default is 1423, which the 6.1 client will try to connect to. Softphone Jabber client unable connected

Hi All,
i've configure cisco IM and Presence v10 integrated to CUCM v10 some service running well (UDS, CTI Deskphone, VM, Presence) but Jabber client cannot connect to Softphone (SIP) and i was configure ucsf(Client Service Framework) for jabber client.
please your advice.

Can I determine what clients are connected to my weblogic server?

Hi, is there anyway of determining what clients are connected to my Weblogic 8.1 server - I want this information to be generated for me, not by maintaining a list when clients login initially to the server.
Also is there any thing that gets fired when a client terminates prematurely - for example being killed by the task manager. I need to know this, so the server knows what users are currently logged in, to prevent a user logging in twice (via the same username login).

How can I know which clients are connected to my network through express and which are connected through extreme?

I have an airport express extending, through wireless, a network provided by an airport extreme. How can I know which clients are connected to my network through express and which are connected through extreme?
Here you can see both routers:
I would expect to some clients connected to the express, other than the extreme. And that's all I see: only the airport extreme appears as client of the airport express.
Below, one can see the summary of the config for both routers.
Would somebody explain it?
