[Athlon64] K8M Neo-V (AGP Texture acceleration: Not Available)

Well i hope somebody can help me. This is a new MoBo and i have no idea as to why i cant get this AGP slot to work in Win ME.
No 3d games work since in directX diag i can see that the Agp texture acceleration is Not available. I ahve tried all settings in Bios and made sure all drivers are current. I have even tried to load the chipset driver first before the Ati video drivers and still nothing.
If any of you computer guru's knows this problem please help. It seems to be a very common problem when i go a google on it but i never see a result. Thanks for any help on this. Right now this pc is only good to surf the web.
here is my specs and direct X layout:

  • DirectDraw Acceleration, Direct3D Acceleration, AGP Texture Acceleration NOT AVAILABLE

    ThinkPad T61 7664-RWU
As the title says, the DirectDraw Acceleration, Direct3D Acceleration, and AGP Texture Acceleration are not available. What driver should I install to make them available? Where to download the driver?

Please give us some more information...
Why do you think the stated forms of Acceleration are not available? Where are you getting this information from?
Please take a look at the Windows Device Manager. What Display Adapter do you have, and at what level is its driver?

  • T61 - directdraw and agp texture acceleration not available

hi i have a problem with directx i think
    os: winxp sp3
    on dxdiag:
in the display tab  - i get on directdraw and on the agp accelaration not available, and i cant enable them
    the direct3d is enabled.
next to the direct draw and the directt3d  there is the test button, when i press it -
    the direct draw test pass
    direct3d fail on 1st test
    i tried to:
    reinstalled directx 9c
install the lastest display driver from lenovo (vga card- intel 965 gm)
remove all codecs (xvid, divx, etc..) and install them back.
but i dont really get a clue how to solve this.
this is a problem for me as i can't watch movies correctly on my media player (and any other player, like vlc)
    - i c squares in xvid/ divx files (which i compiled on other computer)
    - on av-dvi files i c lines (got the movie out of a dvi camera using windoes movie maker and a firewire cable)
note: both of the files runs smoothly on my other computer, and the same codecs are installed on both oof them
pls advise on how to solve this problem.
    thank you.
here is the log file which i get from the dxdiag tool:

  • Slower graphics in JVM 6u23 than 6u03 w/o AGP Texture Acceleration

    We have two workstations:
    OS: XP SP3
    Video HW: NVIDIA Quaddro cards
dxdiag: DirectDraw, Direct3D, and AGP Texture Acceleration are enabled, and can be disabled
    JRE: 6u23
    We have a laptop:
    OS: XP SP3
    Video HW: integrated video device
dxdiag: DirectDraw and Direct3D are enabled, AGP Texture Acceleration is disabled / greyed out
    JRE: 6u23
It seems obvious that the laptop just doesn't have the hardware capability to handle AGP Texture Acceleration, which is no surprise.
We notice on the laptop that when we click on a button within our application, and a large panel gets swapped out for a different one, there is a scanning repaint problem. What I mean is that panel A disappears, and panel B appears in its place, painting from left to right ("scanning"), and takes about two to four seconds to fully paint the new panel. The tabs also flicker in a strange way when we mouse over them. This doesn't happen on our workstations.
On our workstations, if we disable AGP Texture Acceleration within the dxdiag app, the undesired behaviors exhibitted by the laptop do not occur. However, if we disable DirectDraw (and by extension Direct3D / AGP Texture Acceleration), we can see the same behavior on the workstations as we see on the laptop. This also occurs if we use the jvm arg -Dsun.java2d.noddraw=true.
If we run our application on the laptop with the jvm arg -Dsun.java2d.d3d=false, or =true, the problems remain. If the laptop uses JRE 6u03 instead of 6u23, the problems go away. I haven't tried using the -Dsun.java2d.noddraw jvm arg on the laptop, but I will attempt to do so later today.
I originally posted this in the Swing forums, thinking that it was more of a Swing related issue, but I believe the real problem is more Java2D related. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you for the information, BoBear. I have question about this technique. The paint method in my application is overloaded, and I have access to the component (tab) I'm drawing the image on. When I create the Graphics2D object from the compatible BufferedImage object, and try to draw my other BufferedImage to it, the image that I'm trying to paint doesn't appear. am I doing this right?
    public void paint(Graphics g) {
Image image = this.getTab().getBackgroundImage(); // Get the image to draw as a background for the tab
       int tabW = this.getTab().getPreferredSize().getWidth();
       int tabH = this.getTab().getPreferredSize.getHeight();
int imgW = image.getWidth(this); // this is an ImageObserver
       int imgH = image.getHeight(this);
       Graphics 2D g2d = this.getTab().getGraphicsConfiguration.createCompatibleImage(imgW, imgH).createGraphics();
       for (int x = 0; x < width; x += imgW){
          for (int y = 0; y < height; y += imageH){
             g2d.drawImage(img, x, y, this);
}If I draw to the Graphics object g, the execution time of drawImage is problematically high. If I draw to the Graphics2D object g2d, the background image doesn't draw at all. Thank you in advance for your insight.

  • Problems with AGP Textures

Ok I am gettin ginto the desperate mode now, I cannot seem to find tech support from anyone.
I just built a brand new system.
40 gig HD, AMD 2400 Proc, 512 ram, Geforce2 MX 400, MSI KT6V series MB.
Ok now heres the GD problem. I run this system just for online games. I keep getting Client crashes. I called Sony Tech Support and They told me that I need to Contact NVIDIA and have them help me to Enable my AGP Texture Accelerator. That would be awesome If I could find a tech Number for NVIDIA but they dont seem to offer any support. I have been having this problem for over a month now, and am at my wits end at this point, Any help or tech support Numbers you could offer would be great.

ok the driver version for the video card is
    5.6.6.4
As far as the PSu I have no idea where exactly to find that and my ram I would have to yank it our to find out
    It was his second post
these drivers should have been fine but they are made for the FX series
Thank you CDM, I figured I just missed that. And yes, they should be fine, as I am using them on my old system with a GF2. 53.03 and 56.64 both added extra FPS to that old GF2 in every game my son plays on that system.

  • AGP Status; Texture Acceleration ... PLEASE READ

    GROAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAR!!!
Sorry had to get my anger out first.
    Hello,
I am writing concerning a graphical error I am recieving while playing Battlefield: Vietnam with my GeForce FX 5200. My current computer is way above the requirements for the game, but it can only run smoothly on the Lowest graphic modes in the game, and when I turn up the video mode to medium or high settings my game begins to stutter and the graphics become corrupted in several ways.
I have installed the drivers from the CD and have probably used every single nVidia driver available for my card to see if it works, although each result is the same.
I have already e-mailed Electronic Arts technical support and sent them my dxdiag information. They have replied by saying:
I noticed an item in your system information that concerns me, and could quite possibly be contributing to the issue you are having. The "AGP status" is reported as "Not Available". I highly recommend you contact your video card manufacturer to obtain help with solving this.
I then returned to the nVidia website and they said that any support issues should be dealt with the board manufacturer. Please reply with any information you have concerning this problem or the "AGP Status" that cannot be enabled.
If you know how to fix this problem that i've been trying to fix for like 024397397349 years now PLEASE PLEASE, FOR THE LOVE OF.... ok I think you get it. Thank yoU!!!!

  • Msi k8m neo-v not detecting SATA HDD

    hi,
    i am using MSI K8M NEO-V motherboard,
i have read all the threads related to it, and detection of SATA hdd's with it.
i have tried everything except the bios update.
i'v set the jumper to 1.5Gbps
tried different drives but no go
    any help would be appreciated,
    my system configuration is:
    -msi mobo k8m neo-v (ms-7032 ver1) (bios version 3.1)
-hitachi deskstar 80 gb  pata-ide hdd,
    -1gig sd dd ram
    -windows xp professional os
and i am trying to get SAMSUNG 500 GIG HDD (model- HD503HI) to get detected to my mobo
(and yes this 500 gig hdd os ok, it is getting detected in other pc's)

Quote from: Stu on 07-August-10, 23:28:47
If its a SATA-II (3Gb/s) drive, it will probably never work on that board.
VIA VT8237 chipset has known incompatibility issues with SATA 3Gb/s drives, which cannot be fixed. Either try and get hold of a SATA 1.5Gb/s drive, or just use a PATA (IDE) drive instead.
yes bro it is a sata-II 3GB/S drive..
    any other workaround??

  • Again: Cool`n Quiet and K8m Neo-V

Working on a new computer for my wife. She wants her new computer to be quiet and powerful (no gaming), so i bought MSI K8M Neo-V and athlon 64 2800+. I have two problems now:
1 I had the same problem as described in an earlier post, it would not post after enabeling cool`n quiet. A bios upgrade fixed that. But: The fan speed does not go down ! Win Xp tells me the cpu is running at 990mhz, but the fan is still going at over 3000rpm. This must be wrong?
2 I bought 256 Mb ram (TwinMos PC3200). But the motherboard tells me its only 196 Mb   Win Xp says its 192 Mb of ram... Is this a motherboard problem or faulty ram? Didn`t help putting the ram in the DIMM2-socket. Any suggestions?
    Thanks, great forum

Thanks bosskiller, great link to the cool`n quiet FAQ. I understand now, that its up to the mobo-producer to give us a way to adjust fan speed. As far as I have found out, MSI have not given us this important possibility yet. The newest bios (ver. 3.2) does not adjust fan speed automatically, and there is no way to do it manually.
The newest version of CoreCenter from MSI does not support this mobo yet (I think)(it does not controll the fan, but it gives you the rpm). New versions of the bios and/or CoreCenter can fix this, I hope. Otherwise we must buy technical regulators like Zalman Fan Mate 1.
About Ram: I think bosskiller is right about the shared memory, the VGA part occupies 64 mb ram. CPU-Z reports the ram-module as 256 mb. The os only gets 192 mb.
I bought only 256 mb ram, TwinMos PC 3200, single banks I think. I was planning on using my old windows millennium, and save some money on both os and ram.
The ram is running 400 mhz, no problem there.
I use Zalman ST-300BLP power supply. 300w, 15A for the 12V. I dont think the power supply gives me any problems. I have used it with my P4-system before, no problems there either.
(I use thermaltake fanless power supply with the P4 now, and its great  )
The athlon64 system looks very quick, if MSI solves the fan speed issue, this system is going to be great!

  • Newbie... AMD 64 with K8M Neo-V can't get it to work

I just resently purchased a bundled motherboard and processor from CompUSA, AMD Athlon 64 Processor 2800+ with a MSI K8M Neo-V with VIA K8M800 + 8237 Chipset also puchase (2) 512 DDR400 PC3200 sticks. I'm replacing an old Gigabit motherboard with this one. Installed everything per spec, did not connect any device as of yet, just wanted to make sure the board would boot up with main harddrive first. I'm using the onboard video, went I power the system up I get nothing, no BIOS Setup screens, no video, nothing.... What have I done wrong ???
Any help would be greatly appreicated...

    hi to all~~
i have just got the same mainboard yesterday, but got a lot of problems since the first install of software.........
i got a whole new unit with the following spec:
    MSI K8M Neo-V
    AMD Sempron 64-bit 2600+
    Kingston 512MB DDR RAM
    Maxtor 80GB SATA HD
    LiteOn CDRW
    and an internal modem
    First problem:
after the 1st installation (win98se + all drivers given), the computer showed that the "Programmable interrupt controller" (under device manager) causing a resource conflict (code 15). I tried  to change the resource but a window popup and said : "This resource setting cannot be modified" .
    Action Taken:
    1) format the HD and reinstall win98se. With no driver and any software installed, i checked the device manager and found the "Programmable interrupt controller" still causing a resource conflict.
    2) from 1), i installed and updated the chipset controller but got no change..............
    3) from 2), installed and updated all drivers, but the problem still there......>_<
    Second problem:
After I installed the VGA driver and restart, I tried to adjust the resolution but always come out a "Rundll32"  error......
    Third problem:
System is unstable. When I copy files from CD drive to HD, after a few minute (copy in process) it will come out the blue screen .....>_<
also sometimes when i restart after installed the drivers, or switch on my computer, the computer will restart just after the windows98 logo dissapear, strange........
    help me~~~
    thankyou

  • Clock speed problem with MSI K8M Neo-V

    Hi all,
I'm a newbie on all this tasks of mounting my own PC, so I'm very sorry if my question is stupid and is already answered in the forum (I didn't find it).
    I have the following components:
    - MSI K8M Neo-V
    - 2 SATA HD 160 Gb
    - AMD Athlon(tm) 64 Processor 3200+
    - 512 MB (PC3200 DDR SDRAM)
My problem is that I cannot get my AMD 3200 to run at 3200 Mhz. What I
    only get is:
    - CPU ratio x11
    - CPU FSB clock 210
    - Dynamic overclocking colonel (my BIOS doesn't have general or
    commander, as shown in manual)
That makes a total of 2.31 Mhz, far away from the 3.2 desired.
If I try to change this values to others higher (such as FSB 230), I get a black screen
and I need to reset BIOS.
Please, could you help me solve this situation? I find it really
disturbing to have bought a new AMD 64 3200 with a good motherboard,
and not being able to make it run at the appropiate speed.
Thank you very much in advance.

3.2GHz.  Wow.  I would kill to have an A64 at that speed.  :D

AMD's don't run at the speed they have listed on the CPU, rather that is a performance equivalent number. In this instance your CPU has the equivalent performance of an Intel that runs at 3200Mhz.
Actually I believe the Performance number equivalent to the MHz an AMD Thunderbird would be at, NOT an Intel CPU.

  • Mercury Playback GPU acceleration in CS5.5 not available, Mercury Playback Software only available

Getting a warning screen each time I open an existing project in PP CS5.5 that says GPU acceleration is not available on my system...when it has always in the past. Editing on a HP Z400 with the NVidia Quadro 2000. I can't figure out how to get GPU acceleration going again. The software only option makes for a painfully slow and clunky edit. Any ideas are gladly welcomed. Hot and heavy deadlines looming...you all know the drill. The warning window I get reads "This project was last used with Mercury Playback Engine GPU Acceleration, which is not available on this system. Mercury Playback Engine Software Only will be used." And there is only an "okay" button to close the window. Also when I try to start a new project GPU Acceleration option is not accessible...defaults to the software setting and it's grayed out.

    Hi Joe,
Have you updated your video drivers lately? Any OS updates?
    Thanks,
    Kevin

  • GPU Acceleration: Suddenly Not Available.

I switched to Premiere Pro 2014 and now get this message:
This project was last used with the Mercury Playback Engine GPU Acceleration (OpenCL) which is either not available or not certified on this system.
I am using a non-certified card on a Mac Pro 2009 (ATI Radeon HD 5770 1024 MB), but it had always worked well in previous versions of Premiere Pro.
Does this mean Adobe is no longer allowing users to work with non-certified cards?
    Thanks,
    Henry

    Hi Henryten,
Glad you're back up and running!
    Thanks,
    Kevin

  • Flash gpu acceleration not working

I can't get gpu acceleration to work it just uses the cpu.
I've watched numerous 1080p videos windowed & fullscreen in firefox and IE on youtube, they play fine but their only using the cpu.
The only thing that i've tested that uses gpu acceleration is windows 7 media player.
    E6600 core 2 duo
    8800 gts 640mb
    Edit: From Adobe support page....
"The desktop player still uses software rendering for this release. Software rendering is used because drivers vary widely on the desktop, and drivers can accentuate rendering differences"
Is it only for laptops ?  In the release notes of my desktop driver it says gpu acceleration support for 10.1.

Same Problem with my AMD HD 7450 w/ Catalyst 12.04.
What does "GPUDevice: not available" mean? That is listet in every post here ...

  • Why is hardware acceleration not working?

Hi. I own an ASUS N61JV-X2 notebook PC. I am using Mozilla Firefox 4.0.1 for Microsoft Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit. My laptop comes with two graphics cards: an Intel HD GPU and a nVIDIA GeForce GT 325M with 1 GB DDR3 VRAM GPU. It also comes with nVIDIA Optimus technology. I configured my nVIDIA Control Panel to make Mozilla Firefox utilize my nVIDIA GeForce GT 325M GPU when I launch the web browser.
Currently, it is not utilizing my nVIDIA GeForce GT 325M GPU. When I type in about:support, it lists my Intel HD Graphics as the GPU being used with both Direct2D Enabled and DirectWrited Enabled set to true and GPU Accelerated Windows showing 1/1 Direct3D 10.
This is not correct. It used to show my nVIDIA GeForce GT 325M GPU with 1 GB of VRAM.
I left a thread on the nVIDIA support forums, but no one has replied yet so I thought to contact Mozilla regarding this problem.
How do I enable Mozilla Firefox to use hardware acceleration so that it utilizes my nVIDIA GeForce GT 325M GPU again?
For the record, I did turn on use hardware acceleration when available under the Advanced tab within my Mozilla Firefox configuration settings.

I am having the same issue as wellwu with FF 4.0.1.
My computer is a Dell / Alienware MX11R3 with Nvidia GeForce GT 540m and Intel HD 3000 display adapters.
The issue does not occur with the Google Chrome browser. On Chrome the Nvidia drivers load automatically. WebGL works fine.
I am not sure how to find out if the Nvidia adapter is working on IE 9.
Anybody have any thoughts on this issue?

  • Direct X Acceleration (etc...) not available.

First, here is the basic information about my 2009 MacBook Pro:
    OS X 10.8.2 (12C60)
Processor: 2.26 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
    Memory: 4 GB 1067 MHz DDR3
Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce 9400M 256 MB
I have used boot camp to create a Windows Partition on my Mac and have installed Windows 7. The main reason I did so was for gaming purposes. When running Windows, when I attempt to run a game (Arma II), I get an error regarding my Display Adapter. Using Device Manager I made sure that the Display Adapter software had been updated, so I'm not sure that's the issue. The main problem is that Direct X Acceleration and Direct X 3D are "Not Available." I'm trying to find some way to enable the Direct X components and I'm not sure what to do. Is this a problem with the graphics card?
Also, I still have roughly 200 free GB on my Windows partition, in case anyone was wondering.
I'm really keen on running games on my Mac as opposed to purchasing a separate PC and if anyone could help me with this problem it would be much appreciated.
    Thanks!

Probably a driver problem as the ones included in Boot Camp's Windows support software are generally long out of date. Install the driver available here and see if it works.
