Problems with AGP Textures

Ok I am gettin ginto the desperate mode now, I cannot seem to find tech support from anyone.
I just built a brand new system.
40 gig HD, AMD 2400 Proc, 512 ram, Geforce2 MX 400, MSI KT6V series MB.
Ok now heres the GD problem. I run this system just for online games. I keep getting Client crashes. I called Sony Tech Support and They told me that I need to Contact NVIDIA and have them help me to Enable my AGP Texture Accelerator. That would be awesome If I could find a tech Number for NVIDIA but they dont seem to offer any support. I have been having this problem for over a month now, and am at my wits end at this point, Any help or tech support Numbers you could offer would be great.

ok the driver version for the video card is
5.6.6.4
As far as the PSu I have no idea where exactly to find that and my ram I would have to yank it our to find out
It was his second post
these drivers should have been fine but they are made for the FX series
Thank you CDM, I figured I just missed that. And yes, they should be fine, as I am using them on my old system with a GF2. 53.03 and 56.64 both added extra FPS to that old GF2 in every game my son plays on that system.

  • MSI FX5600XT problems with agp 4x and other stuff

    Well
    I just bought myself a MSI FX5600XT-TD128
I had a Hercules (guillemot) GEFORCE2 PRO (clock higher than GTS and slower than Ultra).
I'm not sure if my previous videocard (the gf2pro) would run stable @ 4x or run @ 4x at all.. I know my motherboard is capable of agp 4x, the old videocard I am not sure it was..
WEll, I bought the msi, plugged in and no post.
so I take the card out, put it back in, posted... 5mins later, crash..
    No post..
So I put the old videocard in (gf2pro) and disable agp4x in the bios, plug the msi back in and running so far stable...
My motherboard is an IWILL KK266 (via kt133a).. very nice motherboard running on a not-so-compatible-with-it athlon xp 1600+ (1.4ghz)
The mobo problems with the cpu (processor) are limited to having to press 'reset' switch to boot (or else pc will power up but no boot).
Well my question is, is the agp 4x problem related to this msi video card in general, or to a faulty video card I *might* have (so I can exchange this one) or is it related to the motherboard???
Also, can someone explain to me the diferences between FX5600, FX5600XT AND FX5600 ULTRA?
Also, explain to me please the 'V,T,D,R' models differences too?
And Last but not least, what is the best driver for the fx5600xt and winxp??
I'm running msi latest (53.03, I installed it just to test em), I had nvidia's 52.16 prior to that.
    Thanks for all ur help

This can also be from a weak PSU, which would be even further taxed by adding the power hungry FX card.
    Might need a stronger PSU.

  • Problems with AGP and voltage

HI i have a problem with my VGA card MSI Ge FOrce4 Ti4200 TD8X, the card is agp 8 but voltage in BIOS is 1,5V (like AGP 4). Can anybody help me????????,
    Thanks

Don't worry about the BIOS Voltage Being 1.5 (instead of .8 for AGP 8X) as thre is no such BIOS setting for .8 Voltage ..The reason for this is that all AGP 8X Vidio Cards Reduce the Voltage from 1.5 to .8 on the Vidio Cards themselves with the Vidio Cards Own Electronics ......So do Not worry 1.5 Volts in the BIOS is the Correct Voltage for an AGP 8X Vidio Card .............Sean REILLY875

  • 6147 problem with AGP controller

I have loaded W2000 onto a packard bell club 70 which has a MSI-6147 motherboard.
Device manager is reporting a problem with the PCI to AGP controller, error 12, not enough resources.
Have tried a number of forums for help (Microsoft, Packard Bell) and have been advised to update bios. I believe my current bios is V2.0, dated 08/30/1999, and cannot find a newer one available.
Any advice on bios would help. Any advice on AGP controller problem would make my xmas.
    Thanks

I've checked the PB site and they have a number of bios listed for club range but none match what my m/c is telling me, which is
    08/30/1999;440BX-W977-2A69KM4EC-00
    Award Modular Bios v4.51PG
    W6147P2 v2.0 083099
Looking on the link you left me the latest bios listed is v1.8.
Would you also recommend a bios upgrade as the likely solution to my problem or are there other known problems with W2000 on this M'board?
    Thanks

  • GNB Max Problems with AGP 8x

It seems that all of the issues with AGP 8x are related with ATI 8x/DX9 cards. What about 8x/DX8 or 8x/DX9 cards from Nvidia mfgs (eg MSI). Does anyone know? Need to replace a "busted" card soon. Also where do you disable fastwrites and/or switch uc/ucsw in GNB bios?
    Thanks

I am using the MSI Ti4800SE ( AGPx8 ) and it didn't give me any problems.

  • KM2M and MX440-T8X (problem with AGP)

    Hi every one,
I'm new to the forum... from Chile.
I recently bought a KM2M motherboard and I read in the User's Manual that the AGP port goes from 2X to 4X... BUT... if you connect to it a 8X video card with correct drivers, it would run at 8X (KM2M Quick User's Guide pg. 3-14).
So, I bought a MX440-T8X (MSI 8935)... but the AGP port runs only at 4X!!!!
I installed all the drivers properly and updated them at MSI homepage.
What else can I do???  Has anyone suffer the same problem???
    Thanks in advance !!!
    Greetings.

i dout you will not get any were
    i bet you
if they had 8x agp on the box or website you might
any way as im finding you will have to argue with the dealer first
least ways thats how it is were i live
    as your contracts with him
also i just read the manual
    your wasting my time
page 2.25 is quite clear agpx4
    as is summary page 1.2
the onboard vga is called a savage 8
thats all i can see re 8
but thats nothing to do with the vga slot

  • MSI K8T Neo2 - Problem with AGP frequency...

    Hi there.
I am a proud(?) owner of the K8T Neo2 motherboard. This is the "pro" version, with the supposedly working AGP lock. But it is not working at ALL.
If I set the AGP frequency to 66, my computer wont boot. With or without overclock, it just wont boot. I have the latest BIOS, the 3.3 version, still - nothing.
I really want to overclock some, but an FSB of ~215 (preferably below if I want it to be stable in windows) is as far as I can go.
Please tell me if there is any way I can fix this. Please tell me that I've missed some important BIOS setting and it will all work out for the best.
My other hardware include a 360W chieftek PSU, a radeon 9800 pro and a winchester 3500+.

Thanks for the reply, I'm glad to hear that it is working for someone atleast, this gives me hope.
I tried following your tips. Loading optimized defaults was easy enough, it is the other things im not so sure about.
You said to "then disable the Onboard components you don't need". My question, are these onboard components found in the bios under "Integrated Peripherals"?
I'm not exactly sure what I can enable and disable, because im not very experienced.
Besides my other hardware as you saw above, I have a "Maxtor 160GB SATA DiamondMax Plus9".
I tried to disable some "PATA" option in the BIOS, but it didnt find my harddrive after that. This is why I'm confused and not sure what to disable (I thought I could disable the PATA since I have SATA, im clueless).
Also, when I boot it says, "No drive attached to fasttrack controller". What this means, I have no idea.
Update: So far in the menu i've disabled the 1394 controller, because I dont use firewire.
I also disabled something that was set to "RAID". I could set it to SATA, but I disabled that aswell. After doing this I still cant set AGP frequency to 66 and boot.
Update2: Now I disabled the serial and parallel ports, but I still cant boot with my AGP frequency at 66.

Yeah, the agp is not working and I've tried just about everything. I've flashed the bios with an update and all that crap. I know the agp bus isn't locked because the system does not boot at any htt above ~220 mhz and if it does boot it is very unstable and crashes. And, when I oc in windows, agp disables itself with high ocs. There was one time when the agp somehow stayed locked and I was able to run solid at 2.5 ghz. I have no idea how it stayed locked and it should be able to stay locked with the 66 MHZ AGP LOCK selected in the bios.
I haven't contacted msi yet because I've had the worst experience with tech support. Seems like they all just got out of kindergarten or something and were programmed to say "destructive reformat" for any question you gave them. "Hi, how do I manually install video drivers?" "INSERT YOUR LEGAL WINDOWS XP DISK AND RUN A DESTRUCTIVE REFORMAT." "Hi, I have conceived a worm thanks to windows awesome seccurity flaws." "DESTRUCTIVE REFORMAT." "My computer locked me out for windows activation and I can't seem to unlock it." "WINDOWS IS FLAWLESS, YOU MUST BE IN POSSESSION OF AN ILLEGAL COPY, GIVE US YOUR NAME AND NUMBER AND GO BUY A NEW COPY."

  • Problem with xp3200 ?

    Hey peeps
Got this board recently, thought i'd give the KT600 chipset a go as i had to go nForce2 way, when the KT400 has so many problems with the Radeon9700 pro. Anyhow, board arrived, new XP3200 arrived too. i also have Samsung PC3200 ddr... sweet. One problem...
If i leave the bios settings on default with the ram in, i get three beeps (ram fault).
I set the ram speed in the bios, put the ram in, starts first time. put the FSB to 200, and mobo reports its an AthlonXP3200+. Sweet. Except after about 5 seconds through the boot, the PC switches off?!!?
It wont turn back on again without pulling the power cable and putting the cable back in.  If i lower the FSB to 166, the mobo reports its an xp2500+, at 1.82ghz...
Anyone got any idea's? to me it seems like it might be over heating... but i have the cooler master aero 7, on full blast, and the heatsink is STONE COLD all the time.... havent tried dissabling the Shut down on over heat yet... bit catious over that!!
    Anyone else with similar probs?
The CPU has been RMA'd cause of faulty first one, but this one def works. as does the ram and mobo (each have been tested independently on diferent machines)

Could be memory related or both psu and memory related If I load "high speed xxx" preset there is no 200fsb at all. If I enable the last setting, fast2xxx something all is fine except 3D crash to desktop. Set memory voltage to 2.7 and go experimental on timing page in bios. The top system preset really seem to make biggest difference, Fast is so so but should work for all mankind, Turbo very good/aggressive, Ultra dont work for me at 200 and is actually slower at 166
VIA still have old problem with agp/pci speed so 195 might be too high for ATI card and hds. But lower fsb could be best setup if you have problems with aggressive bios timings at 200. I know 187 with Turbo give best 3dmark for me (only works with 1x512, not 2x but cant have it all...). Almost certain any fsb that allows lowest latency and most chipset/memory controller tweaks will give best overall performance. A few more fsb dont matter in comparison. With lower fsb you will have to change multiplier to get enough mhz out of that overpriced product you use In case you doubt KT600 will work with XP3200 I can tell you that is how a XP2500 is being seen at 11x200. 12.5 is highest multi? 12.5x176 give 2200mhz so start from there and work your way up. Wont help that much if psu is to blaim tho.

  • Problems with sis648max

I have problems with my PC.
when I install agp driver 1.15 and nvidia driver 41.09
the games I`m playing can`t start,or they dont work properly, they freez time to time, also the keyboard and mouse are tottaly bocked. Please help what to do?
    My configuration is:
      MSI SIS 648 MAX
      P4 2.0
      256 DDR RAM 333MHZ
      MSI GF4 440MX SE
      40 GB HDD

    Hi,
The latest drivers are 43.45. I had problems with agp drivers from sis the 1.15 worked really poorly. I don't know, I had the reset/blue screen problem only when overclocking too much.

  • MSI 648 Max with AGP X8 - BIOS update

I have replaced my old AGP card with Radeon 9550 256MB for use with my new Dell 20" WS monitor.
Every time, after starting or during 3DMark03, it crashed back to desktop and sometimes retarting my pc.  I try ram settings, aperature etc with no luck.  My pc has TrueBlue 480 watt PSU and the voltage reading is good.
In the end, I searched this forum and found out it was the problem with AGP X8 so I changed it to AGP X4 via ATI control panel, my pc went through 3Dmark03 with no problems at all.  AGP X4 works flawless.
Regarding BIOS - my motherboard is SIS 648 MAX-L HT ready (Hyper-threading) and its latest BIOS version is v3.1.  I'm just wondering that is my board exactly the same as non-HT 648 MAX board physically?  Since they use same chipset with same layout and also because I noticed the BIOS update for non-HT version is different with v1.5 and has the fix for Radeon 9700 problem which could be related to my problem.  Since I'm using Pentium 4 2.53Ghz, Hyper-threading is a useless feature, could I flash my board with this BIOS?
    Thanks in advance

then leave it at that then. the actual real-life performance difference between 4X and 8X is negligible

  • [GeForce 6] Big Problems with NX6600GT VTD128 AGP and Video Overlay

Got trouble to Install the NX6600GT VTD128 AGP VGA-Adapter right.
I already tried out with latest Drivers from MSI 71.22 and the ForceWare 66.93 NVidiadrivers, but no Overlay at all in my Grabbing Software.
It's a DV-Storm of Canopus with Storm Edit installed. With my Ti4200 (also MSI VGA-Card) never had those Problems.
In the Canopus Storm-Edit Software is an Preview-Window to check the grabbing Process. Now, with the new 6600GT Card it's a black screen.
When I press any key, shortly I see a TV Picture. It's an Overlay Problem of the 6600GT.
How do I have to install/configure the 6600GT VGA that Overlay is working fine.
    The System:
    Intel P4 HT 3,2 GHz
    ASUS P4P800 with AGP 8x
    DV-Storm in PCI Slot 2
    IDE Raid Promise Fasttrack 100
    1024 MB DDR400 Corsair CL2
Latency Timer on 128 (doesn't work with PCI Latency Timer = 64 too)
DirectX 9.0c, XP with SP2 and latest Patches, MSI-Driver Version 71.22 (or Reference Driver 66.93 NVidia)
This Configuration is working fine (Overlay = OK) when re-install the GeForce4 Ti4200 of MSI
    >>>Problem solved<<<
.....a wonderful Canopus Patch to "clean" the ForceWare Drivers like a big LIGHT in the Nvidia-DARKNESS gives hope and wellness to my PC

I found the solution while I cruised in the forum, I used Driver Cleaner to erase the driver file on my HD, and the installation worked perfectly... Sorry about my useless post
If it can help another one...

  • New With a Textures Problem

I've just started teaching myself Java after many years of dabbling with other languages. I've jumped right into Java3D. Needless to say, I've got problems.
I'm trying to apply a texture to a sphere, and move that texture across the sphere. Clouds across a planet surface. I used setTextureTransform to rotate the texture relative to the surface. My problem is that the result looks like the texture is fixed at one edge and stretching itself in the direction I tell it to rotate, until it reverses itself, looking normal but applied the wrong way around, and then stretches back the other way until it returns to its original position. It does that no matter which axis I rotate, always stretching around the relevant axis.
What simple little thing that I would have learned immediately in a formal educational environment am I missing?
I hope it's not uncouth to post code here, and I apologize for how messy my style is. The TextureTransform is last paragraph from the bottom. objTrans, ap, basically everything that doesn't have a "2" on the end is the relevant stuff.
I hope this is the right forum.

Yeah, I was afraid I was making etiquette mistakes. Sorry about that.
Let me see if I can simplify this. Imagine a rectangle (face of a Box) with a texture mapped onto it. I want to shift that texture along the X axis. I use the method setTextureTransform, feeding it the translation vector I want, which increases a fixed amount per frame. What I would expect to happen is that the texture slides to the right until it disappears completely. What actually happens is that the texture remains fixed at the left edge and stretches out in the positive X direction.
The above description is for clarity's sake. My actual problem involves a 3D sphere and the expectation that the texture would wrap around fill in the part of the surface left blank by the moving left edge of the texture.
I've obviously not set something that I should have, but since I'm learning the language by reading the SDK, I don't know enough yet to know where to look for the mistake. Probably somewhere in the texture coordinate assignment or the relationship of texture to object.
That's as clear as I can make it without showing you the program running, and I don't know how to do that yet.

  • AGP problems with FX 5600 256

    Help,
I bought my VTD FX5600 card with 256mb ddr ram about 2 months ago and I noticed it's not running in AGP mode.  I know it's an AGP card but when I run dxdiag it says "AGP Texture Acceleration: Not Available" and when I installed the specail MSI driver for it, I cant check the little box for 8x AGP mode.  I do have a motherboard that supports 8x and the card does so i dont know whats wrong.  Any help would be great.

here are some more screenshots that say it's not an agp card but i promise it is.
the pictures work but you may have to type in the adress in your browser.. dunno whats wrong with em
