ATO assebly behaviour in MRP

Hi Experts,
I am looking for answer for a strange behavior of planning,
I am having std BOM for FG ( Finished good) having ATO attribute enabled at org level. Child part of FG is 'Comp1 ( purchase item) and there is no routing. Now sales order is book for FG having qty 1 with project xyz, also progressed further. Now work order is also created for it for this SO demand. WO contains project and task info.
Now I am running MRP . Here workbench shows that cancel the work order created by progressing SO line and release another planned order which will be get converted into work order further.
Logically, we have created work order for a SO demand, then why planning is suggesting cancel exisitn work order and release another work order from workbench. What is reason behind this strange behavior.
More info - organization is project enabled, plan options : reservation level = project-task, hard pegging level = project-task, FG item attribute value for 'pegging level' = 'End assembly / hard pegging'.
Thanks in advance / Dipak

Thanks for your comments Sandeep. WIP project is same as SO project and WO is not firm.
I have seen that ATO ' assemble to order' business means - all child comps are in stock, so just matter of assembly. With this base line, these item should not be planned from planning, but there child comp will be planned from planning. I have done the same, also seen that WO belongs to non-mrp planned items, will be considered as demand. so corresponding MRP planned comp will be planned. This is my obervation / understanding. what you think ..

  • Re: Peculiar behaviour while MRP

    Hi All,
I am facing a situation which I am not able to understand. I am trying to run MRP for a FG which has stock in place & Safety stock. On entering some PIR via MD61 & running the MRP the planned order created is of a quantity more than required.
It shoild have been 109 But its appearing 124.875.On drilling down I found there were two components.
    1.Pegged requirment=109
    2 Procurement without requirement=15.1875
    Please explain me system behavious

    Hi,
Please check the following values for the Material in the Material Master (MM02/MM03) :
MRP type , Component Scrap , Assembly Scrap, Lot size , Safety stock and Scrap percentage if any mentioned in BOM item details.
Even the scrap percentage mentioned in the Material Master and BOM will considered while creating the procurement proposals. Check those values and get back.

  • DELAY parameter while Primary Crashed

    Hi All,
The application requirement is to have 15mins of DELAY on standby, so that when disaster occur, the application will suggest that out of 15mins, how many minutes of archives to be applied manually, ie point in time recovery.
For database version 11.2.0.3 on linux, in a dataguard setup what is the behaviour of MRP on standby database if 'DELAY parameter is set and Primary database crashes'.
Will the delayed archives be applied by MRP once DELAY is over, or they will remain untouched ( so that these can be recovered manually to some point in time)
    Kindly suggest.
    Rgds,
    Sanjay

    Hello;
    They will be applied.
Delay does not delay shipment of redo. It merely instructs the apply processes of the target database.
Source Chapter 2 of the Data Guard Handbook - page 84.
So if you don't want them to apply you would need to stop MRP.

  • MRP Behaviour

    Hi, PP experts
The scenario is relates to MRP, actually in my company all the materials are set as moving average with price indicator "V" in material master and based on the materials when we run the MRP the system generate the requirement for procurement for the next month.
Before run the MRP we put manually PIR in the system that how much finished goods we produced for next month, based on the PIR, system generates the PR for needed materials procurement and simultaneously also generate Plan orders for such production which we later convert to production order status. This is the brief configuration of MRP in my company.
Now our management wants two separates plants, one for Production and other for Non Production for example:
Plant 1 which is existing plant and we use for non production activity such as procurement of materials with Moving Average.
Plant 2 new plant for production with standard price.
The future plan is that when we run MRP,  system calculates the procurement requirement in plant 1 and generate PR and simultaneously generate Plan order in Plant 2  which is new plant maintained on standard price instead of Plant 1.
To do above working MM consultant already make new plant with price control "S" which is standard new material types and new materials in plant 2.
Before production we move all materials relates to BOM from Plant 1 to Plant 2 and the difference of price which is moving average vs standard is separately booked in deviation account which is a legal requirement of our company.
In my area I have to be creating all BOMs in new plant and configure the MRP according to above scenario.
When MRP runs they produced result in two separate plants.
Plant 1. Procurement requirement such as PR's & POSTO
Plant 2. Plan orders which we later convert to production orders.
I want to know is there any possibility in MRP area, if yes what is the procedure of configuration in spro.
MRP run on finished product and results produce on two different plants.

    Hi,
Although not specified, it seems that you are doing all this mess only to change price control for manufactured materials from V to S.
    It doesn't make sense.
Do you really have 2 plants now?
If not, then you should not do it. It will get into a lot of unecessary trouble with planning and execution.
Look for alternative solutions of changing the price control. Even definition of new materials seems to be a better solution!

  • MRP ... sequenced run behaviour, why?

    Hi,
Am having another question on MRP run.
I found that using this setup as below it provides the correct results that i wanted.
That is it will create a PR for location AB10, based on the quantity in Sales Order and a Reorder Point PR for location AB20 to fulfill the shortages.
This is what I notice when I create a new material:
    1) New Material Created for location AB10 and AB20
    2) Run MRP one time to generate PR for loc AB20, reorder point location
    3) Put in Sales Order
    4) Run MRP another time to generate PR for loc AB10
I need to run this SEQUENCE EXACTLY for the first time before I can continue normally i.e. plan and run MRP with the desire outcome.
Any deviation from this, results in MRP created PR in loc. AB10 only and NO PR in AB20.
Why is this so? Anyone could assist here please? Cheers.
In location AB10, the following MRP settings are being used:
    1) MRP 1:
    - MRP Type PD
    - Lot size EX
    2) MRP 2:
    - Procurement Type: F
    - ScheduleMargin Key: 000
    3) MRP 3:
    Availability Check 02-individual requirements
In location AB20, the following MRP settings are being used:
    1) MRP 1:
    - MRP Type PD
    - Lot size EX
    2) MRP 2:
    - Procurement Type: F
    - ScheduleMargin Key: 000
    3) MRP 3:
    Availability Check 02-individual requirements
    4) MRP View 4 - Storage Location MRP
    - SLoc MRP indicator 2
    - Reorder point 300
    - Spec.proc.type:SLoc 40
    - Replenishment qty 1

    Hi Lee,
Your requirement is clear to provide some solutions. Could you please shroten this write us the actual problem/requirement?

  • Future scheduled changes to material lotsize and mrp behaviour

    Hi,
I have scheduled changes for a material in lot size for the next month and and also the lotsize key of periodic lot sizing procedure of weekly lot size from daily total to weekly total and also mrp type pd to p1.
when I run mrp then for the first changed month it is giving the changed lot size and weekly total and for the other future months it is considering the old lot size value and weekly total.
to display the new lot size what I have to do.
    Thnaks and Regards
    Ramana

    Hi Vivek,
If I'm correct The changes will be made active on the scheduled date i.e. on 1st of october in our case using MM13. then the new lot size will be dispalyed in material master. if this is the the case untill unless the scheduled date comes I can't expect MRP to give me new lot size propsals.
But for materials with a long lead time foe ex 60 days I want to schedule new lot size data for the 60th day onwards and till that time old lot size data has to be taken. I want to get procurement proposals with old lot size for the coming sixty days and then with new lotsize after the 60th day onwards and I want run MRP for a period more than 6 months starting now and so that i can give procurement proposal to the vendors accordingly in future and present. Is there any way to acheive this.
    Thanks and Regards

  • MRP Behaviour with and without Scheduled SO

    Hi,
How MRP would behave when there are Scheduled and non scheduled SO's with in the system?would MRP conisder non sched SO?
If invemtory is reserverd fof non scheduled Sales Oders, how Mrp would behahve,.would it consider the reverve items?

MRP only considers scheduled SO's. Any other is ignored.
when you schedule the SO the visible_demand_flag field is set to Y in oe_order_lines_all. Only then does MRP sees the SO.

  • Creation of SDEB's for MRP type = VB materials.

    Hi Gurus,
When we run plant wise MRP, SDEB's are created instead of Purchase requisitions for all Manual re-order point materials. We understand that SDEB's are created when the stock of tha material is above tha Re-order point, and this SDEB's indicate tha MRP controller whether he can create manually Purchase requisitions or not.
But, we are getting these SDEB's for the materials that have stock below the Re-order point as well. Which is not correct i think.?
For your information, when we run material wise MRP there are no SDEB's at all.
Please explain what might be the Root cause and the solution to over come this..
    Thanks for your understanding..
    Naveen.A

    Dear colleague,
without checking the issue it is difficult to know if there is an error.
Please check if the following information can explain the behaviour of your system:
A)When you do MD01 or MDBT the creaton indicators defines in the
customising are used . whereas when you run MD02 or MD03 the creation
indicator on the individual screen is used.
Single-item planning and total planning follow a different logic
concernng the creation indicators. This is also described in the
documentation for Master Planning/Materials Planning (Chapter 4, Section
    2) and in the Implementation Guide.
    Single-item planning:
The entered creation indicators are generally valid.
    Total planning:
The entered creation indicators are used as default values.
For materials from an MRP group, the values from the MRP group
           apply (if available).
The creation indicator for delivery schedules can additionally be
specified per plant. This is used if nothing was specified via
           the MRP group.
Thus, the priority is as follows:
          1.  MRP group
          2.  Plant
          3.  Initial screen
B)In MD02 system can de multilevel (For components of a header Materia)
or/and Multiplant (Stock Transfre ) planning. In such cases for all the
materials involved the creation indicator used in the screen is used.
C)The creation indicator makes sense only for materials having
procurement type external procurement (F) in material master. For the
materilas which are produced in house (Procurement type E) system will
    always create planned orders.
And Materials having procurement type X(Both procurement types ) is
treated as Inhouse produced material by planning . Thus for such
materials system will always create a planned order. Now this planned
order can be converted into a production orer or into a purchase
    order(via purchase Requisition).
When you run MRP with "Create Purchase Requisition " in the opening
period , then the syetm uses in the opening period defined via  the
scheduling margin Key. In material master , MRP 2 View we maintain
scheduling margin key. And in Transaction OPP1->Planning->Scheduling and
Capacity Parameters ->Define floats we maintain the opening periods per
plant. I am attaching details of Opening period :
opening period: Opening period is the time which the MRP controller
needs to analyse. Thus he has this buffer with him to rectify any issues
before converting the planned order into purchase requisition.
The opening period is only used in backward scheduling.
Suppose There is a requirement for a material on date =RD1
Let the Goods receipt processing  time  is= T1
Let the planned delivery time =L1
Let the purchasing Processing time = X1
Let the opening period for this material is P1
    Time line  for external procurement:
Planned Del   Pur proc         GR Process
              Time            Time          Time
    ___|__________|_________|___________|___
                  L1            X1         T1
       SD                                         RD1
    Now accoring to Basic scheduling:
       Receipt/Requirements Date(RD1)
       Release/Start Date(SD) = RD1-T1-L1-X1
Now let me explain to you when the planned order an purchase
    Requisitions are created:
Let us say the date on which you do MRP be MR1
    OD = Opening Date
    From above diagram :
                                     Opening Per
                                     In Sch Mar Key
    __________________|______________|
      XX                          OD                 SD
                                                  Release/Start Date
If your MRP date(generally Today) is lying between XX and OD (and
    excludind OD)then
MRP creates planned order and if it lies between (and indclind OD)
OD and SD then we create purchase req.
when your MRP date comes between the period OD and SD then you do not
have time left to analyse and therefore instead of you in such cases
forgetting and delaying system automatically creates purchase req.
In general if , if your order start date or release date is after
the opening period from today then MRP will create planned order.
    Oterwise it creates Purchase req.
Check also if you have the note 1063969 applied in your system.
I hope it solves the issue. Otheriwse I think you should open an OSS message with connection to your system,
    best regards,
    maria

  • Scheduling agreements in mrp ?

    Hi Gurus,
please explain the over all scope of  scheduling agreements in MRP. my requirement is like if i run MRP for A FERT Material at MD03 it has to consider the sto  scheduling agreement  which is all ready created with sales depot.
    1. wiil the system considers the sto sch agreements if we run the mrp ?(Material will supplied to sales depot through sto sch agreements ).
    2. what is the scope of using special procurement key 40 and 45 (can we use these keys if we procure materials  from more than one plant trough sto sch process ?
    3. what are the mrp settings we need to do for scheduling agreements?
    please clarify my doubts .
    Best Regards,
    Mahesh.

    Hello
What you observe on your system is according to the standard system design. Please refer to the following information, provided on question 6 of the FAQ note 550568, which explains the system behaviour:
    6.  Question:
There are several requirements on one day. Is it possible that the
MRP creates a separate procurement proposal for every requirement?
        Answer:
Same as for the daily lot size with a number of periods = 1 (lot
size TB), requirements of one day are also grouped into one
procurement proposal for the lot-for-lot order quantity (lot size
EX) (see documentation for the lot-for-lot order quantity). Separate
procurement proposals can be achieved only if you work with
make-to-order production. Here, the requirements are managed in
separate planning segments of the stock/requirements list.
I suggest you to work with make-to-order sales scheduling agreement. In this case, system will create separated sales order stock for each document. You can test make-to-order setting planning strategy 20 for your material on tab MRP3 of the material master.

  • System creating procurement proposal for components having MRP type VB

    Hello All
I am having a FG under which there are two raw materials ROH1 & ROH2, MRP type for FG & ROH1 is PD & lot size EX, MRP type for ROH2 is VB & lot size HB. When am running Single-Item-Multilevel MRP for FG (using txn MD02) system is creating purchase requisition for ROH2 as well which shall not be the case as its MRP type is VB (Manual Planning).
Looking forward to your valuable inputs for resolving this issue.
    Regards,
    J K Tharwani

    Thanks for your inputs
There is stock of ROH2 above the reorder point still the system is generating purchase requisition after I run the MRP for FG, I would like to inform you that I am running MRP of the FG against Customer independent requirement (Sales Order), am using strategy 50(MTO) for FG.
I also checked the similar scenario with another FG but i kept strategy as 40(MTS) for it, & when am running the MRP against independent requirement of FG with 40 strategy am not getting any purchase requisition for ROH2 (having MRP type VB & lot size HB).
Can you please make me understand this behaviour of the systtem. Again looking forward to your valuable inputs.

  • How to make open sales order consider allocated & unallocated stocks in MRP

As listed above, material in line number 1 is required to produce 2,  and
2 is required to produce 3.
I have open open sales order for material TF180TK(fert).
When I carry out MRP run, stocks of material  TB300TK (halb), that is allocated to this sales order is considered, but unallocated stocks are not considered.
I want the system to consider both stocks, allocated & unallocated stocks.
What settings do I need to effect, to make the System consider available stocks of  material  TB300TK , that is not allocated to this sales order during MRP run using MD01?
    Regards

    Dear
For MTO scinario , any depedent will be either having Account assingement PR or it will pick up the speciall stock (E) based on the Individaul and Cllective Indicator as 1  in MRP4 view .It will never getting reservaed from un-allocated stock ( i beieve u r talking abou Un-restrited stcok ) .This is a standrad behaviour of the MTO cycle in SAP system .
As you have mentioned , that you are using planning startegy 20 -MTO and also you want depdents (SFG and Compoenets in SFG) to be from un-allocated stock .In that case you should not use Planning strategy 20 and also assing Indviaul and Collective Indicator as 2 or blank .It will be purely MTS and you can have sales order with item categoery TAN .
So please  keep Ind/Collective indicator as 2 in MRP4 and try
    Hope this helps

  • Issue on Number Range for MRP Purchase Requisition

    Hi Gurus,
Please help me on the issue explained below.
We are already using SAP ECC 6.0 and SRM 5.0 and now we are implementing Plant Maintenance Module. As a result of this implementation ,we have created number of PR document types and assigned to unique number ranges in ECC. One of these document types has been maintained for MRP group for a material type in order to identify the MRP purchase requisitions created on the shortage of the materials for these material types.
This functionality is working fine. MRP run for the materials is picking the appropriate PR document but number range of the document is not the same what was assigned to the linked document type. Some other number series is getting picked by system .
There is setting under SPRO Consumption Based PlanningNumber RangesPurchase Requisitions
Here, number range assignment is against plant. This is the same number range which is being taken by system on running MRP. But the desired number range is the one which has been linked to PR document type.
If I change the number range above then number range for MRP PR in present system will get affected..
Can you please advise me on above so that PR generated on MRP run should have appropriate number range?
    Thanks & Regards,
    Niti

    Hi,
As per my understanding, what you have mentioned above is exactly the way SAP is designed. Its SAP Standard behaviour.
But if you check your PR document type - no:range & the CBP no:range both will be same only since both refers to the same object.
Please check the PR document type that you have assigned in the CBP & its no:ranges.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Ram

  • Time stamp in MRP list after MRP Run

    Hi Gurus
After running a MD01-MRP at scope of planning level, with processing key as NETCH, materials which had no planning file entry also were updated with the latest executed MRP run time stamp in MRP List MD05.
Is it the standard behaviour? As per my understanding, the materials with no planning file relevant change is not included in the MRP run with processing key NETCH/NETPL. Then how does the time stamp be relevant for the latest MRP run while the material was never included in the mrp itself?
    Regards
    Deepak Prasanna S

    Dear Deepak,
If my understanding is correct only if a mterial is included in the last MRP run(MD01/MDBT) then the time stamp gets included in the
MRP list which can be checked and confirmed through MD05 and also the output of last MRP run.
Once after the MRP run is completed the system deletes the corresponding planning file entries in the system.
On completion of the planning run, the appropriate indicator is automatically deleted in the planning file:
The system deletes the net change planning indicator and the net change planning horizon indicator for a regenerative planning
run and a net change planning run.
The system only deletes the net change planning horizon indicator for a net change planning run in the planning horizon.
    Check and revert back.

  • MRP based pricing

    Dear All,
I have a pricing scenario wherein  we have two prices:
    1. Price condition type for MRP price .We need to deduct Excise abatement from MRP and calculate BED ECESS and SHE from MRP.(Internal use)
    2. Price condition type for Distributor price which is (inclusive of excise ) for actual billing
Trade Discount and VAT etc should be calculated by this only.
I could achieve the above but when I go to  VA02 --item overview ---conditions tab. there are  fields  net value  and below  tax.
Here ,in Tax field VAT amount is flowing which is perfectly OK.In net value field It should have been (Distributor price-Trade discount)but its adding Excise component also.
Please guide me how to avoid excise component   in net value field..
    pls guide.....
    Regards,
    Umesh

If condition category is Taxes then that value will sit in Tax field.(Check in V/06 - Condition Category)
If condition category is other than taxes ex : Discount or surchange then that amount will add to Net value filed (Hoping that stastical is not ticked), this is the standard behaviour of the system.
I Hope In your Case VAT condition maintained condition category as Taxes and Excise condition types maintained as Discount and Surchage..

  • PR after MRP run

    Hi,
After MRP run we want the valuation type system should pick up automatic in generated Purchase requisition. Can you please confirm how it is possible ?

    Hi Sun Riser,
If purchase requisitions for materials subject to split valuation are generated within materials planning (Transactions MD01, MD02, MD03), the system does not supply a default value for the valuation type. The header record is generally used (without valuation type). This is standard behaviour please look at note  15297 Materials planning: No valuation type defaulted. Workaround is when you enter the valuation type during conversion PReq -> purchase order, an account determination is performed with the corresponding valuation type automatically
