• Unable to open URL attachment from SBWP in CRM WEB UI

Hello Gurus,
Need your help please. I'm having some problem opening the URL attachment from SBWP via CRM 7 WEB UI (I used a Transaction Launcher for SBWP). The attachment is a Webdynpro application. I am able to open the attachment in SAP GUI, but not in CRM WEBUI. This problem occured when we update the SP level of CRM 7.
Here's the scenario,
- whenever I click the attachment, it open a new window, which also happen even before SP level update, with the following information:
Execute an Application on FrontEnd
Please wait. You will be forwarded automatically.
This page is included for technical reason.
Execute program.
Status: Displaying Office Document ..........
After a couple of seconds, it will return to the Workflow Workplace screen.
I have checked the workflow log and found no inconsistency on the attached URL.
Immediate response would be highly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
Regards,
Edwin

Thanks for the reply WD ABAP.
Yes, I did try to use the functionality of Worklist and the URL attachment successfully opened. However, there are some limitation in its functionality as indicated in the link below that opted us to use the SBWP in CRM WEB UI via transaction launcher.
http://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/display/CRM/CRMWorklist-AdvancewithDialognotSupported
We don't want to adjust the logic of our existing workflow at this point as described in the above link as it will entails end-to-end testing again. We just encountered this issue when we update the SP level of CRM 7.
Hope there is an alternative solution without shifting us to Worklist.

Edwin

• Attachment Handling in SAP CRM 7.0 EHP 3.0

Hello,
We are in the design phase of an SAP CRM 7.0 EhP3 implementation project. In the current landscape the legacy system for customer service (CS) management uses an external shared fileserver for storing attachments from the CS system. However we plan to decommission this external content server as it does not support good security features.
Storing attachments in SAP CRM via content management - can SAP CRM content management support large files? What is the maximum capacity per attachment and also the overall maximum capacity that SAP CRM content management can support.
We have "heard" that SAP does not recommend storing attachments within CRM, but rather in an external secure storage server. Is this true? Is yes, what would be the best approach to store and read attachments from SAP CRM?
Regards,
Reena

Hi Christophe,
Facebook and Twitter are officially integrated into SAP CRM 7.0 EHP 3. Not LinkedIn though.
You can use a custom solution in EHP2. Example is provided in SAPPress book SAP CRM: Techical Principles and Programming.

• How to attach java program with CRM OD

Hi
i have a java program that i want to attach with CRM OD user interface so that i can run it on the press of a button or through any other way. Please suggest me some way to do this.

Hi,
The web applet and web tabs features allow you to embed content within CRM On Demand. You can develop an interface to your code (i.e. HTML page containing a button that will invoke your java application) which can appear within the CRMOD UI using these features.
Thanks,

• Cleansing cases - CRM 7.0

Hi,
I read that CRM 7.0 has following new features: identify duplicates, create cleansing cases, and merge automatically.
Does anybody know, where I can get more information about this topic?
Thank you in advance!
Best regards
Jasmin Hauser

Hello again!
To be more precise - Identify Duplicates, Create Cleansing Cases, and Merge Automatically are Task-Steps of the Data Quality Administration Task-Type u201CIntegrated Duplicate Checku201D.
Within this Task-Type a whole Target Group can get used and the 3 Task-Steps can run automatically for this Target Group. Itu2019s also possible to schedule this as regularly running Task. In this case not a Target Group but a Profile has to get assigned to the DQA-Task and the first step is the generation of a Target Group out of the Profile.

• TIF attached to dispute case isn't displayed

Hi,
TIFs that are attached to a dispute case can't be displayed. PDF files works fine.
The problem already exist directly after the upload.
It doesn't seem to be an authorisation problem (Trace made, RC=0 for each check).
The TIF is uploaded correctly as it can be downloaded and displayed then by windows tools.
Are there any settings needed?
Thanks for any idea in advance
Katja

Hi Hein,
no it wasn't maintained there (table was empty up to now). I've add the tif format but it still doesn't work.
Regarding the help text this step is related to the integration with Biller direct which we do not use.
Based on the help text I've had a look in the Customizing for Records Models, Records, and Documents
(SAP NetWeaver -> SAP Web Application Server -> Basis Services -> Records Management -> Customizing for Records Models, Records, and Documents -> Register Document Formats.)
but I haven't found something helpfull there. The tif format is maintained there.

• Generate Workflow / Case on CRM Updates by logged in users

I have a secured member based site where the members can update their personal profile details via a CRM update form. What I want is the ability to generate a workflow and case against that member anytime they UPDATE their CRM details directing the workflow back to the administartion staff for further actioning.
Now I know we can't attach workflows and cases to a CRM update form but I do know that by creating a hidden form within the same page I could pass the basic member details across t that form which in itself would hav a case and workflow attached - this would at least enable the administration staff to get notification that the they need to follow up on a member updating their details.
My problem is that I do not know how to actually achieve this. Can someone point me in the right direction understanding I am "technially challenged" when it come to javascript so don't assume anything there.
Thanking you... Greg

I have tried to follow your advice Alex but in fact the link in the KB you gave for JSON submit didn't work. I set up both forms in a test page (http://adaq.topleftdesigns.com.au/members/aatest-update-member-profile.html) being vsible so I might test whether each form worked. The 2nd form which is using the JSON option didn't as instaed of displaying the message box i instead had the system opened a page showing the following text:
"{"FormProcessV2Response":

Summary of web form submission:

Your Name
Greg Tomkins

Email Address
[email protected]

Case Number
4116339

Username
Your record has an existing username. This will be emailed to you. [gregt] - has been ignored.

" }}"
I in fact found these other references to JSON form submits which got me part the way to my result.
a) Submitting standard web forms with Ajax and JSON (BC Demo) http://demo.businesscatalyst.com/json-form (using the code in this demo example my 2nd form submitted correctly)
b) Submitting standard web forms with Ajax and JSON
with each giving slightly different info.
I have now got each form submitting correctly individually and I set up a link to submit both forms but this is where I come unstuck. Clicking the link (SUBMIT BOTH) does nothing at all. The link has id="submitEverything" and I have set the following script. Can you point out where I have it wrong?

I am also wondering will the above still perform the validation checks on the first form?
Tahnking you... Greg

• Attach document in CRM ??

Hi,
I am trying to attach document to an Opportunity record using this RFC "CRM_ICSS_UPLOAD_SR_ATTACHMENT" in XI.
It requires Object_GUID and File contents in binary format.
It returns OBJKEY also, but when I see in SAP CRM "Attachment" tab of Maintain-Opportunity data, I don't find the Attachment.
It seems that Attachment gets uploaded on CRM Database but its not getting attached to the particular Opp (the GUID that I pass).
What should I do?? OR Am I doing something wrong??
Regards,
Mahesh.

Hello Amit,
I am not able to understand your requirement correctly. Are you trying to attach the Document as a Attachment to the Interaction record (or) trying to attach it as a Archive Link Document??
If you could give me more info.. I think I will be able to assist you with this as I have worked in this area...
Cheers..

• Report on Contact attached data

Hi Experts,
I am working on CRM 2007 Employee Interaction center. we have a requirement to pull call attached data into crm and later pull it to BI from crm to make reports out of it.
So can anyone share a doc on how to pull contact attached data(CAD) to CRM(config steps) .
Thanks in advance.
Sudhakar

Hi Sudhakar,
Call-attached data is optional and comes in addition to data already delivered by the ICI-certified third-party CTI solution. This solution shoud already deliver on each incoming call - out of the box - caller number (ANI), which can be enough to have caller automatically identified.
In case you need additional information to help identify caller, or to gather information that caller has keyed in on his phone during an automated dialog (Interactive Voice Response), then you have the possibility to transfer this extra information from the CTI solution to your SAP CRM system via ICI interface.
What should appear in the CAD is something you have to define with the CTI vendor. Have you checked with your CTI vendor if they don't already have an analysis tool of IVR dialogs ?
Let me present the example of what we did during an integration with a Cisco CTI, used in a service scenario where callers refer to service requests (creation, inquiry):
We agreed with the CTI vendor that they set-up an IVR script where caller gets asked if he is calling about an existing service request or not. If yes, he is asked to enter the number of the service request. If not, he is asked to answer 2 questions that will already help the agent who gets the call to better qualify it. Relevant answers are also displayed in the IC alert area; they are clickable (e. g. to directly navigate to service request).
We then agreed on following xml tags:
<ItemAttachedData>
<Application id="SAP-IC">
<CV01>+321234567</CV01> caller number (CLID)
<CV02>+327654321</CV02> called number (DNIS)
<CV03>1</CV03> OPEN TICKET OR NOT
<CV04>7777777</CV04> TICKET #
<CV05>1</CV05> ANSWER TO QUESTION 1
<CV06>1</CV06> ANSWER TO QUESTION 2
<CV07/>
<CV08/>
<CV09/>
<CV10/>
</Application>
</ItemAttachedData>
In SAP CRM customizing, you can specify an XSL transformation to postprocess this CAD. It is interesting to note that SAP's implementation of the XSLT processor allows call of ABAP methods, where you can easily code evaluation of CAD, and even save CAD to a custom DB table.
If you want to learn more about XSLT and ABAP, I recommend following book; it is a good investment!
http://www.sap-press.com/products/XML-Data-Exchange-using-ABAP.html
Hope I made this topic clearer
Kind regards

• How to serach text via TREX with cryptograph attachment in SAP system?

Dear friend,
In my customer site, all the office document cryptograph.
If cryptograph program is not installed, file cannot be open.
The customer need to search the text in the attached
office file in CRM system through TREX.
Currently, it is not possible cause it is cryptograph.
So, we want to know where should we apply breaking cryptograph. Breaking cryptograph program can be provided by the customer.
I guess it might be applied when compiling or to Trex.
Do you have any case similar with this?
Your recommendation would be appreciated.

Hi
I'd recommend you to use NetWeaver Enterprise Search instead of TREX.

• Read contents of inbound & Outbound Email (attachment)

Hi Gurus,
I'm looking for a solution to extract and read the content of Incoming & Outgoing Email from SAP.
I have developed a program that can read the content of all the emails with type RAW (SAP office editor message), but when the email contains the attachment or the table entry in table SOOD contains value "EXT" in field OBJTYP then I am unable to read anything.
example:
(logical condition is like this)
IF SOOD-objtp = 'RAW'.
**I am able to read the contents of email
ELSEIF SOOD-objtp = 'EXT'
**Unable to read the email content, how can i read this?
ENDIF.
One thing to note as well that in case the value in field SOOD-objtp = 'EXT' then file extension is '.PDF' or 'MHT'.
Any help will be highly appreciated!
/Manik

Hello Manik,
perhaps my Blog: CRM: Inbound mail processing – Attach files to Opportunity helps you.

• Case Management - Attribute Profile

Hi Folks,
I am working on a CRM 4.0 -> 7.0 upgrade project. We are facing an issue related to Case Management.
After upgrading the system to 7.0 the case managment search/create dumps. We figured out that this was due to the case attribute profile that was attached to the case type. SAP told us that in CRM 7.0 the Attribute Profile approach for extending case attributes is no longer valid and easy enhancement workbench needs to be used to create the attributes and then data from the older table needs to be migrated.
I have 2 questions -
1. When should the attribute profile approach be used to enhance case management with new attributes and when should EEWB be used?
2. Is there a now a way out for us or we will have to use EEWB to add all the attributes agian? Has anyone encountered this before?
Kind regards,
Gaurav

Hi Anil,
Please refer to the below link for the BADi used in Dispute Case Processing.
http://help.sap.com/saphelp_afs64/helpdata/en/58/f01e3f41989310e10000000a114084/content.htm
SCMG_VALIDATE_C - This BADi might give you an option during case change/creation to apply your requirement.
Moreover maintain all the reason code s before hand in config, which I am sure you have.
Cheers!

• Name Case issue in Link Palette

I have imported couple of Links in InDesign CS6. All links are imported well. The issue is happened in case sensitive of links as described below.
1. I have imported the links with the naming convention as shown below.
001_FlowerX1.jpg
002_FlowerX2.jpg
003_FlowerX3.jpg
004_FlowerX4.jpg
005_FlowerX5.jpg
2. I have renamed the links after imported into InDesign as shown below.
001_flowerx1.jpg
002_flowerx2.jpg
003_flowerx3.jpg
004_flowerx4.jpg
005_flowerx5.jpg
Can you see the difference of the naming convention between points 1 & 2? There is a case sensitive difference.
InDesign Link palette does not show modified/missing links. The image status looks "OK" in the Link palette after change the original name in point 2.
I just wonder how InDesign does not show modified/missing links in the Links palette after changing the name. Attached screenshot of case sensitive difference in the links naming convention for your reference.
Anyone help on this issue to overcome and provide a solid solution of the same.

Is your Mac set up to use case-sensitive file naming? I'm not a Mac person, but my recollection is you have to go to some pains to format the drive for case-sensitivity.
If, in fact, you simply change the case without moving the files and you are not formatted for case-sensitivity I would expect ID to continue to recognize the files at the old locations and to update automatically the next time you open the document. If you change the names in Finder whiel the document is open I would expect to see a file modifcation warning, but not a missing file. I don't know why ID isn't updating the spelling, though. Perhaps it's because it doesn't matter.
