Audigy 2z Front bay headphone j

I own a Platinum for 2 years and never used the front headphone jack.
I bought a good pair of cans to my MP3 and tried to hear them in my computer too.
Updated all drivers but there is no sound coming out from the front jack.
I think that the front bay is working, because when I connect my handycam into the firewire jack windows imediatly finds it.
I sought a lot of threads concerning headphones jack and front bay left answered and I'm starting to wonder if this is a hardware bug of this card combo.
Any help is very welcome.

Check there is a red light in the optical out port, the 394 connection is not a good guide to check if the front panel works.

Open your case and look at the your front panel USB and Headphone jacks.... look for a black cable and follow it with your fingers until you get to the end. Its should be plugged into your MOBO in a white socket. Carefully unplug it and plug it into a white socket on the top of your AUDIGY. The cable is barely long enough and you might have to mess with it to get it to reach........ that's it!!!!!!!! You can now use your front panel Headphone and USB jacks with your AUDIGY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • X-Fi Fatality not detecting front bay anymo

I own a X-Fi Fatality with the front bay. I never had any issues, but lately windows (Vista x64) seems unable to pick up my front bay. I always had it working properly, but now it's just not there. I don't see any connections in the audio panel anymore, whereas before I could see en select the different outputs. Connecting a mic or headphone or using the remote, none of this actually works anymore.
The front bay does recieve power though, since the red light of spdif actually shines.
It seems as if the card itself doesn't recieve the signal of the front bay that it is there or something. Anyway, right now it looks as if I only have a soundcard with no front bay installed. And yes, the cable conencting the two is still there.
I completely uninstalled all creative software en manually removed the card and the bay from the computer en rebooted. I reconnected everything and even took the ide cable on and off and reinstalled drivers and software. To no avail however, still no front bay.
Anyone got the same experience ever? Any solutions?

I also had this problem in the past.
The Frontbay was dead was my conclusion.
I tried another on the same soundcard which did work.
So try your frontbay on another Creative Audigy / X-Fi card and see for yourself.

  • Xi-Fi Fatality front bay not working on Vi

    Hi all,
Can someone please confirm that with the current Vista BETA drivers for the Xi-Fi Fatality soundcard the front panel does not work yet ? (windows Vista Ultimate 32-bit)
I am testing my front headphone's and microphone but I get no sound there, these are also not selectable anywhere in eather the windows sound options or the (currently VERY limited) creative software.
Could I be doing something wrong ? or does realy the ONLY reason I took the Fatality version (the front panel) is not supported yet in any way by the BETA drivers ?
And please for gods sake, dont wait for microsoft to test the bloody drivers, just release them already , ill very happely click the "install anyway" button when windows tells me the drivers where not tested yet
    Thank you,
    Hans

My front bay works, but my remote doesn't appear to be working. I just bought the X-Fi Fatalty?3 weeks ago and installed it in my new 32-bit Vista Ultimate?system, so I don't have anything to baseline it against. ?Does the remote work with the current Vista drivers? Is it suppose to light up when you push the power button? (I already changed the batteries twice)?thx

  • Audigy 2ZS Front Panel on X

    Is it possible?
    Anybody already tried?
    THX

Yes you can. I have such a set up working perfecly on the system I'm typing this on (X-Fi Xtreme Music and Audigy 2 ZS dri've bay).
The X-Fi and Audigy 2 family can share the same dri've bay. The Li've and the Audigy use can use the Li've! Dri've and the Audigy Dri've bay. The only real difference between the two types is the connector.
You need to be sure that your X-Fi has the dri've bay connector. Some of the newer cheaper X-Fis don't actually have this connector (Xtreme Audio, Xtremem Gamer ).

  • X-Fi Fatality and Front Bay Digital

Right . . Just got my card today and kind of impressed so far. Have come over from an M-Audio Revolution 7. which is a software based card but still fantastic for music and a doddle to set up for digital out. I use a coaxial cable linked to a Denon 3805 amp. Now on this card, using a coaxial cable from the front bay, what speaker configuration should I use because so far I just cannot get music to sound as pure as on the M-Audio and it seems to have something to do with the bass and the Subwoofer, it just doesn't sound quite right. I have run through my amp settings, tried Music Cd's from a standalone CD player etc and the sound is fine.
Games seem to be ok. Maybe a hint of more detail with this card.
As I am using an external amp I have switched off all the DSP extras the X-Fi can do so the source is as pure as possible.
Hope someone else has this kind of setup and can shed some light.
    Thanks in advance

Yes, that's the card I have.
And I don't get an option for DDL License Activation in my start menu, but I do have the DDL pack installed and I didn't need to activate it.
The reason that I asked about a decoding tab is that I've seen screenshots of other X-Fi control panel?tabs and they had a decoding tab.
Also, Creative support says in my earlier link?I should have a DDL icon in Entertainment Mode, which I don't have?
Thanks for the reply, I appreaciate it.

  • Audigy and front Mic/Headset connectors at c

    Hello,
I?m thinking abut buying an Audigy card, but need to know IF AND HOW I may connect the card to the front connectors wich are integrated in my computercase (Mic and Headphone).
(I dont want any 5 /4 connector panel)

I found this information on Creative KnowledgeBase ..
Sound Blaster X-Fi Xtreme Audio and Sound Blaster X-Fi XtremeGamer feature the Intel High Definition Audio (Intel HD Audio) Front Panel header.
Bad information is that it's not compatible w/ all front panel connection methods.
This header follows the standard 2x5pin Intel HD Audio conform layout. It is not compatible with AC97 or Intel-compatible HD Front Panel Audio.

  • Audigy 4 & 5.1 Headphones is

Ok, I finally bought a new soundcard, and upgraded to an Audigy 4 and did a clean install and driver updates. I am using a set of Medusa 5. headphones (the analog plug verison, not the USB), and I am experiencing flat, bassless sound from the center and rear channels. Sounds from my left or right front are very rumbly and sound great (gonna need new fillings with bass like this). So I figured the speaker calibration tool would be the place to go, but it dosent work. I get an hourglass for about a second then nothing happens. If anyone can help or make a suggestion I'd really appreciate it!

    thx for the reply
but i think i managed to make it work with the Audigy_SupportPack_3_6 which i found on these forums

  • X-Fi issue - front panel headphone j

Just replaced my aging Audigy OEM with an X-Fi Platinum yesterday. Sound quality is great and the system is stable, but I'm having a slight issue with the headphone jack on the front panel. When I plug in headphones, the system properly reconfigures the speaker setup for headphones and mutes the speakers. However, after 2 seconds, sounds start playing softly from the right front and subwoofer channels in addition to the headphones.
Any idea how I can fix the problem? All my connections seem fine and I'm using the latest official X-Fi drivers (not the Beta)

  • Audigy 2 front I/O is

    Hi guys, new guy here.
I am having an issue with my front I/O.
I have a SB Audigy 2 card (driver version?5.2.496) I connected the front I/O?to it, plugged my headphones in and no sound. I can hear a slight hum through the headphones so i am assuming the I/O is getting power. What have i done wrong? Am?I using the right drivers? Do i need other sofware? (i ran the auto update on the creative site and it showed me as being up-to-date).
Any help with this issue would be greatly appreciated as i am a n00b when it comes to these matters.
    Thanks.

So what I'm hearing is that we're basically on our own. Is it that hard to answer a simple question like, "How do I completely uninstall ALL my SB Fatalty drivers and install brand new fresh ones from the internet, and in doing so, hopefully reset my I/O dri've?"
    That's my question.

  • Audigy 2 front panel: Aux-in 2 no longer wo

This is odd to me. I updated to Windows SP3 and it insisted on updating my realtek HD audio drivers which I had disabled. Upon restart they were reinitalized. I quickly turned them off, disabled, then uninstalled them.
I switched back to my Audigy 2 but my AUX-IN 2 no longer works, and no it's not muted. It's really frustrating since I have some multimedia streaming through those RCA's and I really need it.
I've tried to rip every audio driver out. I've reinstalled about 4 times. And it still doesn't work. I've tried old drivers, new drivers. No luck.
Do you think there could be some conflict inflicted by when both drivers were installed? Are there any apps to purge Realtek from my system? Does SP3 have something to do with it's? Please help!
Quick Edit: Everything else on the front panel works and the my cables are new. I bought them because I thought they were shot.

Thanks for the response. I've tried the program and it does work for the intended purpose; however, now I'm experiencing a new issue. Sometimes when Muvixer "kicks in" and changes the input back to my selection the computer will lock up. I'd say this occurs out of 25 times -- enough to make this a severe pain. The sound will freeze with repititous noises coming from the speakers and the computer will be completely non-responsi've. The only solution is to hard restart. I've got a fairly decent dual core rig @ 3.9ghz with a week-old reformat and clean Windows install, so I can only imagine this is an issue with the audigy.
    Any suggestions?

  • MSI Xpower Front Panel Headphone Jacks

My cases came with mic/headphone jacks on the front panel.  The cable can used as HD Audio or AC 97Audio.  I can not find where to hook it up on the motherboard.  Is it possible?

No. There is no mainboard connector. You will find the HD Audio connection on the backside of the Quantum Wave card.

  • SB Audigy Platinum Front I/O Mic Probl

Whatever i do, i just can't seem to get the microphone plug on the I/O module to work. When i plug
my microphone in the back of the sound card itself, it works, but not when i plug it in the front.
The strange thing is that the headphone plug on front seems to work, but the microphone doesn't.

  • Can I connect an Audigy 2 front panel to an X-Fi?

I have an older Audigy 2 Platinum with the front panel and an X-Fi Titanium Fatalty Pro card. I'd like to connect the front panel if possible because I don't think Creative even makes the front panels for the X-Fi cards anymore and they were always kind of expensi've.

The Titaniums use a different cabling system than the Audigy line did. You wont be able to connect the two........
