  • Audigy 4 Pro - I/O Hub does not get any po

    Hello all,
I purchased an Audigy 4 Pro a few days ago and I cannot get the external hub to power on.
This somewhat sumarizes what I tried so far:
. Uninstalled all drivers and software of my old Soundblaster Li've 5. Platinum
    2. Also removed all entries of the old soundcard from Device Manager
    3. Powered down the PC fully, took out the Li've 5. and powered it back on and logged on to my Windows XP (SP2).
    4. Just to be sure before installing the drivers for the Audigy 4 Pro I cleaned out the cookies, temporary internet files, all other Temp folders, the Prefetch folder and also ran a program to clean the registry.
    5. De-activated my Norton AntiVirus Corporate Edition's Real-time protection, it's services and also my ZoneAlarm Pro from starting up the next time I reboot Windows.
    6. Powered down the PC again, took the power cable out, made sure there was no power whatsoever left and carefull inserted the Audigy 4 Pro card in an empty PCI slot.
    7. Connected the larger AD_Link to the card, then to the hub
    8. Connected the smaller AD_Link to the card, then to the hub
    9. Finally connected the power convertor cable to a free systems power unit
    0. Double-checked the entire hardware setup a few times and power the PC back on
. Windows XP detected and installed the OHCI Compliant IEEE 394 Host Controller and the 394 Net Adapter
    2. Canceled to proceed looking for a driver when it found the Audigy 4 Pro card
    3. Installed the drivers and applications that came with the Audigy 4 Pro. Everything went smooth - no error messages during the installation.
    4. Rebooted PC after prompting to do so.
    5. With ZoneAlarm and my Norton Antivirus de-activated, all drivers and programs installed properly the external I/O hub does NOT get any power. I also made sure to check this with the remote control.
I have ofcourse no sound coming out that hub when plugging in my headphone and also cannot use my microphone.
    6. I ran the Diagnostics program that was installed automatically with the other Creative applications: It claims there aren't any problems.
    7. Powered down the PC again, checked all connectors, powered the PC up again: Same problem... no power.
    8. Installed the latest 4-in- drivers found on viaarena.com: Same problem
    9. Uninstalled and reinstalled the drivers and applications: Same problem
    20. Uninstalled and reinstalled the drivers and applications after taking out all other PCI cards and placing the Audigy 4 Pro card into an other PCI slot: Same problem
    2. Set my BIOS to factory defaults: Same problem
    22. Formatted the PC and reinstalled Windows XP (SP) with every update thinkable... Same problem
    23. Formatted the PC AGAIN ( ! ) and reinstalled Windows (SP2) with updates .... Same problem
Another problem: Sent a detailed e-mail to Creative Support Europe.... Still NO respons after 48+ hours.
Anyone else should have a solution I would appreciate trying out, or if all fails I'll go for a Terratec model.
    Thanks in advance!

  • MacBook Pro running out of power

My MacBook Pro seems to be running out of power unusually fast. Any Ideas?

Sounds as if it's getting close to the point of needing a battery replacement. Batteries are considered 'consumable' parts by Apple, so you'll just have to take your machine into your local Apple Store or an AASP and purchase a new battery for you model.
I went through 4 batteries on my 2006 model - yet it's still running (for someone).

  • Audigy 4 Pro Hub probl

    Hi
I have just got an Audigy 4 pro. Everything seems to be working fine except parts of the hub. At the moment the Remote Control, volume, headphones and cmss etc dont seem to be working. But the other posrts like the Firewire, optical, and spidf etc are all working.
So is this a problem with the hub or have I done something wrong?
    Thanks

Well having spoken to Technical support for about an hour, they told me it could because my onboard sound card hadnt been disabled. Well I've disabled that and uninstalled its drivers. Then I did a clean install of the audigy4. Still the same problem. For some reason, the headphone volume slider in the surround mixer is greyed out and the isnt any headphone tab in the Audio console. Having been told that this is Creatives best product and "it cant have anything wrong with it", I am beggining to wonder just what is going on? I've completly disabled my old onboard sound, done a clean install and still the headphones/volume/remote etc arent working. Is there anything else I can try?

  • Audigy 2 ZS Platinum Pro I/O Hub Not Work

Hey, I'm back and now that I have my I/O hub, I have another problem. It won't power on. The AD-Link 2 cable, when plugged into the port in the back of my sound card doesn't let the I/O hub power on. If I plug it into the other AD-Link 2 port that's apparently a part of my motherboard, it will power on, however I can't get any sound on headphones nor will my microphone work. I would REALLY like to get my I/O hub working properly so that I can use my microphone for Ventrillo in World of Warcraft. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.

The 4 pin connector is plugged in and the larger 4 pin connector is plugged into the power supply but I've got a spare power cable just like it that I want to try and I can't seem to unplug the smaller connector. Is it even possible to do this?

  • Audigy 4 Pro - Line In 3 Prob

I have been having a huge issue with getting my Line In 3 to play audio from my Television and/or my DVD player. I sent my first Audigy 4 Pro back because I could not get the Line In 3 to work. Now I am having the same problem on a completely different sound card. My DVD player's audio out work just fine when they are hooked into the TVs in, but when I hook the DVD outs to the external hub's Line In 3 nothing comes out of my computer speakers. I am so frustrated with this sound card. Any help would be grateful.

    - are all other features working well in Ext. Hub (powerful enough PSU or is the additional power for the A4 PCI card taken from shared floppy power cable))?
I've only ever used the Line-In and the Headphone jack on the front, they work fine. There is a red light coming out of the Optical out on the front (expected). The card does have a 4 pin connection and it is plugged in.
    - have you tried w/o other peripherals connected into Hub (just one through line-in 3)?
Yes, same results (but ... see below).
    - have you installed latest drivers/software updates for your card?
Where can I find the latest drivers at? I hate to download and install the wrong ones.
    - have you tried by uninstalling the CT software suite (least Surround Mixer) and control I/Os through Windows Play/Recording Controls (start run... mmsys32 and mmsys32 /r)
I have not tried to uninstall anything and I type mmsys32 in the command prompt and get an error that it can not find the program.
Update: I turned my computer off last night and turned it back on this morning, plug my RCA cables into my external hub and get a steady low frequency "buzz".

  • Audigy 4 Pro - No Midi in Audio Mixd

I have an Audigy 4 Pro, which came with Cubase LE.
In my recordings, I have midi tracks which have to be turned to Audio before the tracks can be added to the Audio mixdown. Cubase only makes one reference to this in the help files which says you must connect the output to the input on the sound card - which I suppose means that I would have to use a Y cable to route back to my mixer unless I wanted to unhook some of my speakers? Sounds like a hassle.
Or is there some way to do this in software with Audio HQ? Use "What you hear setting" perhaps?
I've looked at length through the help files and can't find any direct reference to this.
It's a bit frustrating. Right now what I'm doing is saving the midi tracks, and then using ITUNES to convert them to Audio files, which is also a hassle.
    Anybody else run into this?
    Any suggestions appreciated - VelvetElvis

Well I just got an email back from Creative Support and they reccomend I use Windows Media PLayer (or any other of the programs that do work) instead if it works 00%. I seriously hope they update the Entertainment Centre to actually work, I feel I am losing value of my Pro product very quickly as the remote now only has the function of changing the volume, not very satisfactory.
I also feel it's rather ridiculous that they recommend I use another program than Creative's, it's a bit of a cop out, and they should really work on fixing the program soon.
If the remote control could control Windows Media Player 0 when WMP0 is in fullscreen then that would be great, or if the remote control could be changed to be like a media keyboard in that it controls any media application rather than just controls that are visible it would be fantastic. Also if the power button could be altered to start an application then that would be great.
Anyway creative, update the entertainment centre to fix this issue please!Message Edited by CrimsonCleaver on 04-03-20062:6 PM

  • Audigy 4 Pro Optical In Probl

    Hey everyone,
I've had an Audigy 4 Pro for about a year now and it's an amazing piece of hardware, but I seem to be having some kind of problem.
I recently had an HD cable box put in my room and I want to connect the optical out port on the cable box to the optical in port on the Audigy 4 I/O box. I made the connections and the optical cable is lit and sending a signal, but I'm not getting any sound out of my speakers. I went into the volume mixer and turned on "S/PDIF-In"?and still nothing. Are there any other settings I need to check? I checked some of the other inputs on the I/O box and they seem to work so I don't understand why this one won't. Thanks in advance for any help you can give me.

What seems to be a problem is the I/O box is powered on, but not connecting to the card. The power light is on, but the volume knob isn't doing anything and the extra inputs aren't recognized. I didn't touch any of the cables, and they're all secure so I have no idea what's going on.

  • Audigy 4 Pro hu

Does anyone here actaully have the Audigy 4 Pro card? If you do, please tell me, does external hub go in a 5.25" bay, or does it go outside of the case?
    Thank you,
    Yan Booth

    It doesn`suck at all!
Imagine a cable sallad behind the computer!
Your signal gets distorted if signal cables are paralel or are mixed
    with electric power cables!
Only the AdLink cable sucks, it`s short for serrious studio mounting and has quite fragile connectors if you tend to be "on the move".
    Firewire solo would be nice.

  • Inspire TD7700 and Audigy 4 Pro connection problem

I have a problem connecting the speaker system Inspire TD7700 with the soundcard SoundBlaster Audigy 4 Pro. The soundcard has a hub that is placed outside the computer, and it is connected to the soundcard inside the computer via two AD_LINK inputs/outputs. The soundcard is also connected to the switch (that was included in the speaker system), in front of the switch (where it says "from pc, input"). The front of the switch is also connected to the sub via something called "To speaker, Output". It is connected to the sub via the audio inputs. The back of the switch is connected to the decoder (DDTS-100, included in the speaker system). The input of the decoder I have used is called "Audio Outputs". The switch is set to "PC - Audio". Both the sub and the decoder is connected to a power supply unit.
My problem is that I can't hear a thing trough the speakers. I can hear sound trough my headphones when I connect the headphones to the sound hub (included with the soundcard). But when I connect my headphones to the decoder, I can't hear a thing.
Can somebody please help me, I really want my new speaker system to work..
    Thank you in advance!
    Mathias

Just click on the one you want to use, and then click on "Set Default", and then you can use it. Here's a hint for you, you do that and your current default (Line-in 3) will become "Currently unavailable". Vista only allows one input and one output device to be acti've at a time, hence why they all say unavailable.

  • Macbook pro 13" mid 2010 power issues

    Hello
I recently obtained a macbook pro 13" model from mid 2010. The macbook was in a poor state but I got it working again.
    Parts that have been replaced:
-harddrive: I had to buy a new harddrive so I bought an intel SSD.
-the mac os x was not present so I bought that one from the apple store (os x snow leopard)
-magsafe: I bought a nearly brand new one from a store in holland who deals in second hand parts for apple devices. I also bought another one to be shure from another store in france.
-keyboard: the keyboard was a german qwertz layout but I prefer the belgian azerty layout so I replaced the entire keyboard
After replacing the magsafe connector inside the notebook I noticed that the macbook does not start charging immediatly, sometimes it starts after 5 minutes or after 2 hours. The led lights on the charger are not orange or green, just plain black.
what I already did to solve the problem:
    - The charger is a brand new one from the apple store and is in good working order. I used this charger on another macbook and no problems.
    - Magsafe connector: I have 3 magsafe connectors and all are in good working order. I even tried the magsafe connectors on other macbooks and all of them are in good working order.
    - Keyboard: keyboard is ok, even the keyboard lights are working fine
    - ram memory has been replaced with new ones from an apple retail store, ram is working fine
    - SSD drive is brand new and I have made a second harddrive with the same OS and updates: same result: macbook does not charge
    - system is up to date and has all updates
The charging problem can be solved by connecting the charger to the macbook and opening the bottom and disconnecting and reconnecting the battery. After that the led lights up and turns orange to indicate that the charger is doing his job with the battery. Doing an SMC reset does not solve the problem.
When the battery is charging: notebook is working fine, very fast with the SSD drive. When working on battery: the notebook can be used for up 3 hours maximum. When the battery is completely out of power: charging is difficult because it will not start immediately, no orange of green led.
What could be the cause of this problem? I've been looking around to get prices for a replacement logic board but I not shure.

First of all, I notice two things:
You are using Sophos, and most users do not need it. See if uninstalling it helps > http://www.sophos.com/es-es/support/knowledgebase/119182.aspx
You are using a Soundflower version that it is not compatible with OS X Mavericks. You can install the latest version in this website > https://code.google.com/p/soundflower/downloads/detail?name=Soundflower-1.6.6b.d mg&can=2&q=
Apart from that, open Disk Utility (in /Applications/Utilities), choose Macintosh HD in the sidebar and repair all permissions. Have a look at this user tip > https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-3521
Finally, as you have a lot of third-party apps and extensions, you should consider the option of formatting the hard drive and reinstalling OS X, so everything should be back to normal:
If you have got a backup of your files, hold Command and R keys while your computer is starting up to start up in OS X Recovery.
In the OS X Utilities window, open Disk Utility, choose Macintosh HD, go to Erase tab and erase the drive.
Close Disk Utility and reinstall OS X. Do not restore your backup. Then, transfer your files manually and reinstall your applications manually.

  • Audigy 4 Pro microphone problems in Win 7 64-bit

    Hi there,
Since I put my Audigy 4 Pro card into my newer PC with Win 7 64-bit the microphone only seems to work when it wants to, or works but sounds messed up.
I've waited a while before posting about this because I thought the newer drivers would sort out the problem, but it remains the same.
The card/microphone works without a problem if I put it in a PC with Win XP.
Sometimes the microphone will not pick up any sound at all. Other times it will work, but only for? game, say Heroes of Newerth. Then in Windows using teamspeak, people describe the sound like I'm talking through a fan. Tried using the in-game VOIP but I get the same result.
After a restart or just some random day, people in Heroes of Newerth would discribe the VOIP from my side as if I was talking under water(or through a fan), but then it would work fine for teamspeak or Bad Company 2 or any other game. I used these 2 games as an example since its what I'm playing mostly at the moment.
There doesnt seem to be any consistancy with the problem.
I have recently removed the sound card from my PC and now forced to use the onboard sound that reminds me of the sound of a clockradio.
    My PC specs are:
    Asus Rampage Formula Motherboard
    Intel Core 2 Duo 3.0GHz E8400
    8GB RAM
4 x WD Raptor HDD Stripe RAID
    ATi Radeon 4870 52MB
    Sound Blaster Audigy 4 Pro?(model number shown?is SB0290)
    Using?a Sennheiser PC350 Headset.
What I have tried my side so far:
Tried latest and older drivers for Win 7 64-bit
Reinstalled Windows 7 several times with different drivers.
Tried disabling all devices except for line/mic
    Tried other input devices.
Tried with different audio and sound codecs, tried without any.
Might have been or 2 other things I tried I cannot think of now.
Is there anyone that experienced similar problems and got it fixed? Any help would be appreciated.

    Hi Bill,
Can you be more specific about which steps were not recorded?
There some things that will not be recorded. The release notes list some known issues.
    Known Issues:
Tutorial Builder can only capture actions in Photoshop that are recorded by the ScriptListener plug-in.  While this includes most of Photoshop's functionality, some features/tools are not recorded.  In particular, brushing actions are not captured.  We hope to address this in future releases of Tutorial Builder.
Some of the the actions that Tutorial Builder captures are not yet instrumented to produce detailed text instructions in the final tutorial.  For such actions, the generated tutorial will include a step that says "The (action name) is not yet supported by Tutorial Builder," and the tutorial author will have to edit the HTML to provide more descriptive text.  Note that the "Show me in Photoshop" link is still generated for such actions.
Some Photoshop actions allow the user to specify a set of parameters in multiple ways, but Tutorial Builder cannot detect how the user specified those settings during the recorded demonstration.  Thus, the text in the generated tutorial may not describe exactly what was demonstrated.  For example, in the Image > Adjustments > Levels tool dialog box, you can update the parameters using three different eye droppers.  Since Tutorial Builder does not know which (if any) of these eye droppers were used, the text for a Levels adjustment does not describe exactly how the settings are specified.  Again, the tutorial author can simply edit the HTML to provide a more accurate description.
    Thanks!
    Mira
