Auto allocation of materials in Batch

Hi All,
I need to allocate the batch materials automatically. I don't want to use "Automatic" allocation in Formula. But If I open the batch and try to allocate automatically from the Actions menu, the auto allocate option is disabled. Is there any setups needed to enable this..
Regards,
Navanethan

allocation parameters feature does not really address this 'defaulting location' requirement as there is no way to default locations based on any rule.form personalization seems to be the way to go,however the pick lots location form does not support personalization.(Line Allocation details screen does)Can anyone throw some more light on this?I wonder how has this been achieved in R12...

Is there anyone can tell me the Auto Allocation Ingredient process? Or maybe there was a documentation for it?
    thank you very much

    HI,
Auto allocation can be achived by doing following things:
1.Set Profile : GMD Use Auto Allocation to "Yes" in site level (Sys-admin level).
    2. Define allocation class to "AUTOFIFO" for the items u want to be auto allocated.
3.Define Inventory Parameter To "AUTOFIFO" for the warehose.

  • How to upload stocks of Materials having batches (Manu Srl. Nos)

    Hi MM Gurus,
Users at our end have a requirement to upload stock balances of
    1)     Materials without batches
    a.     Used MI01 and specified plant with storage location
    b.     Materials were entered without entering batches in MI01
    c.     Saved MI01
    d.     Through MI04 ticked zero count and entered quantity, saved
    e.     Through MI07 posted the document
    f.     System shows correctly the stocks updated for the materials
    g.                  No problems for this
    2)     Materials with batches
    a.     Now the batches above relate to Manufacturing serial number
    b.     E.g. Laptops for 20 nos have 20 batch numbers which we want to upload
    c.     Went to MI01 and entered only 1 material viz. Laptop
    d.     Now in the batches column, entered 20 rows for the 20 batches
    e.     Against the 20 rows, when I tried to enter same Material 20 times, the system gave an error message
How do I resolve this problem? Have others faced this problem?
How can I upload stock of materials containing batches? Could be 20 or 100.
Please let me know how to resolve the same. Also under which heading would this appear in Help.sap.com?
    Thanks in advance

  • LMS 3.2 DFM Auto Allocation Issues

    Hi,
I am having a problem with the Auto Allocation in DFM. When I make changes to a device in the DCR (in this particular case, I am editing the User Defined Fields), the device automatically goes from a ''Known' state to a 'Learning' state in DFM. The problem is that it will remain 'learning' for hours, then eventually go into 'Questioned'. At this point, I have to delete it from the questioned state, which it then goes into 'Pending', and then I have to delete it from the pending phase. (A side problem I am having is that it wont remove itself from pending - I have to stop the Daemons, restart them, and then its gone from the DFM) Once it is out of the DFM, I have to manually add it back into the DFM, in which point is goes through in a few minutes with no problems.
Please let me know if there is anything I can provide to help out in this situation.
    Thanks.

    Hi jclarke,
I think I may have misworded my initial problem. I do not have DFM set to auto allocate from the DCR, however, it seems that when changes are made in the DCR to a device that is already "Known" in DFM, the DFM automatically puts that device into "Learning". This, it seems, is where the problem lies. That device will never actually go into "Known" status, until I delete them and restart the Daemons.
    Thanks.

  • OATM conversion - should I use unform or auto allocated extents

Hi, as part of an 11i to R12 E-Biz upgrade, I am migrating to the OATM model of tablespaces. One issue I am not sure about is whether to create the new OATM tablespaces so that they use Uniform Extents or whether I should set them to use Auto Allocate. I appreciate that some folk believe Auto Allocate can in the long run lead to freespace fragmentation. However I have not seen any recommendation from Oracle in any of the upgrade documentation as to which method of extent allocation to use.
Q1. Any ideas on which is the recommended / better / wiser extent allocation method to use ?
Q2. Are the concerns around free space fragmentation with the Auto Allocate method really likely ?
Also when I ran the Sizing Report in the OATM migration utility against my existing non OATM 11i tablespaces to predict the space I required for the migration, I got very different results / predictions !
For Uniform Extent Allocation I got the following prediction
    Required 20% buffer Current
    ======= ======= =====
    Total(in KB): 83,552,256 100,261,687 31,653,400
For Auto Allocate I got the following prediction
    Required 20% buffer Current
    ======= ======= =====
    Total(in KB): 29,842,048 35,809,437 31,653,400
Q3. Any idea why there is such a large variation between the predicted figures for both methods ?
any insight or shared thoughts greatly appreciated,
    Jim

    Thanks Hussein,
The notes indicate that the recommendation for OATM is Uniform Extnts of 128 Kb. However it caveats that with the statement "if that suits your database". How are you meant to pre-determine what extent size suits your current data / database ?
Also when I ran the pre-sizing report in the OATM migration utility I got vastly different space predictions ( see below ) when proposing to use Uniform Extent Allocation ( of 128 Kb ) and Auto Allocate. Do you know why there should be such a large difference in the figures ( especially as the recommended Unform Extent allocation is so much larger ! )
    For Uniform Extent Allocation
    ==================
    Required 20% buffer Current
    Total(in KB): 83,552,256 100,261,687 31,653,400
    For Auto Allocation
    ============
    Required 20% buffer Current
    Total(in KB): 29,842,048 35,809,437 31,663,600

I've created an auto allocation set using the parallel set type. When i look at the concurrent requests that runs when i trigger the auto allocation set, i see the launcher program initiate then all the mass allocations under it. I don't see a post happening. Could i turn the posting on? or do i have to post manually?
I know for step down auto allocations, it posts automatically

    Hi
Try by setting the "Controlled at" as Org level while defining your category set. I think it will work out.
do also the following set ups
    1. Please put the check box - Allow multiple Item Category assignments
    2. Please put the check box - Enforce list of valid categories
and in Category select a) AUTOFIFO b) MANUAL
Go to Item Master and assign the same.

  • How to check for Auto Allocated Serial Numbers

    Hi
I have chosen ALLOCATE SERIAL NUMBERS = YES in Organization Parameters Form.
I have set the Item SERIAL GENERATION = AT SALES ORDER ISSUE at Item Level.
Done with the creation of Sales Orders
Done with Releasing a SO(Auto Allocate = NO and Auto PICK CONFIRM = NO)
Done with Transacting a Move Order.
Now moved to SHIPPING > TRANSACTIONS Form
In Lines/LPNs Tab, Entered Shipped Qty and then I forgot to allocate/assign Serial numbers from TOOLS --> Serial Numbers and created Deliveries and Trip Stops.
Now the Delivery status is CLOSED and Line status is SO Form in SHIPPED.
As I forgot to allocate sno's,system would have allocated serial numbers because ALLOCATE SERIAL NUMBERS = YES in Organization Parameters Form.
    Now my Question is,
How to find the serial Numbers that were allocated by the system?
    Thanks
    Veda

    Hello,
    What is the question?
Now you have line closed but delivery is still open?
Run this request OM > Shipping > Interfaces > Inventory Interface–SRS set debug to 1.
In requests you have Inventory Interface–SRS, Shipping.... SRS and another with SRS. I do not remember correct name now but you have to pick last one:) and set debug to 1. I will give proper name tomorrow.
Look into results and look for errors.

  • All pruchased materials to batch management

    Hi Gurus,
Can anybody please throw some light on the following scenario. The business is proposing to batch manage all the materials that we buy. What are the implications that we will be facing by going this way? What technicaltities that i need to be aware of from the System perspective so that i can explain all the pros and cons of doing this?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks
    Anusha

always keep in mind that it is not easy to activate batch management for materials that are already in use, and it is even more difficult to impossible to switch it off again, if you change your mind.
Batch management is an additional level to manage stocks, so it brings complexity in your system and is so an area to make some more errors. If you are already batch managment, then using BM for all purchased materials will not be a big challenge.
However, activation of BM for materials that are in use (stocks, open POs, etc) is quite challenging, as you must not have any stock in current and previous period to be able to activate BM. for details see OSS note 30656.
The more complex your business is, the more complex it becomes for this activation. Eg. if you are using vendor consignment, split valuation warehouse managment.
If you have to activate a lot materials, then SAP offers reports to do it despite of open documents and stock, but this costs extra money. there are OSS notes about this.

  • Auto allocation for a move order with an expired lot doesn't work

    Hello everyone,
We are facing a major problem regarding the use of move orders for issuing expired lots.
    Scenario:
    1. Create a move order. Fill in: Item, Qty, Source Subinv and Lot. Lot is expired.
    2. Approve move order.
    3. Run "Move Order Pick Slip" with "Autoallocate Unallocated lines".
    4. Open Transact Move Order Form. Try to transact.
    Result:
    No allocations were created.
If we check row and push "allocate" button result is still "None".
Only way to finish the process is to open "View/Update Allocations" and pick a locator manually.
We work with a lot of expired lots, and doing that manually is a lousy workaround.
Does anyone know if that is standard functionality? Because documentation does not refer this issue.
    Thanks,
    Aaron

  • Upload Customer Remittance Advice to SAP for auto allocation to invoices

    Hi,
Here's the story, we receive excel files from customers that are rather large and I was hoping I could get a proposal together with information on how we can automate the allocation of payments to customer debtor account.
I do not have access to any SAP sites and our IT department is giving me the run around, so I have turned to all of you for some help.
Please remember that I am in the receivables are and all remittances (spreadsheets) get sent to us straight from the customer via e-mail never from the bank.
I am hoping this is enough info for you guys?!?!?
Let me know if you need to know anything else.
Oh and we are working with ECC6.
    Thanks
    Belinda

There are a couple of  options 1) You could implement the SAP lockbox functionality. This is a standard approach and offers automated file upload functions. 2) You could create a custom upload function. I always try to use standard SAP before I try custom. You could basically have a program developed that would take a excel spreadsheet in your company layout and have that uploaded into the system. The customer could send them in your format or you copy paste it to your formated spreadsheet. This is done all the time.
pls assign points to say thanks.

  • Auto scene cutting on already batched material?

During batching, one can check a box to get the batched video clips divided into scenes (ie. the cuts one had during recording).
Is there a function to do this with already batched material, say with only a section of material? I do this a lot manually in order to get a full overview of my things, and I'd like to save manual cutting time.
    Chris Engelbrecht, Copenhagen

I presume you are talking about DV as Premiere does not provide HDV scene detect. There is a reasonably priced, stand-alone program called Scenalyzer that will chop your captured video files into clips using either timecode changes or optical scene change detection.

  • Auto allocation or finished material against sales order for MTO

    Dear All
By which T-code can we allocate the finish item in sales order from stock in unrestricted use.
We follow MTO strategy for our finish material
What is the best practise for such scenario.
    Thanks

    Hi Vikram,
When you are fallowing MTO process there is no need of seperate transaction to allocate the finished products to the sales order.
In MTO scenerio automatically the stock will be assigned to that perticuler sales order we you do goods reciept after production.
I hope it will clear for you,
    Regards,
    Murali.

Have a look at the config. under:
LE/WM/Activities/Transfers/Define stock transfers and Replenishment Control
in combination with one of the RLLNACH* programs SAP help text for RLLNACH4 below >>
You can use this report to control replenishment within the warehouse for storage types with random storage bin management. The system calculates the replenishment quantity on the basis of the current stock situation in the storage type and the replenishment quantity defined in the material master record. The system then creates transfer requirements (TRs) for the calculated replenishment quantities.
You'll need a new movement type and a new Reference Storage Type search record.

  • Batch handle with 'Auto Select' option

    Hello Everyone!
We are trying to find out how the 'Auto Select' button works with batch handle.
Our customer wants to handle batches by FIFO.
We need to try if it is possible to 'Auto Select' batches by 'Admission Date'. Even when we found out that it is possible SBO does not do it rightly, because not always get well organized by 'Admission Date'.
Somebody knows which logic uses the 'Auto Select' option to select batches?
There is some configuration at SBO to handle batches by 'Admission Date'?
    Thanks a lot!

The batch auto selection selects the batches according to the ascending alphanumeric order. To issue based on FIFO method, user has to identify the admission date/ manufacturing date of the batch and issue.
There is No configuration at SBO to handle batches by 'Admission Date'.
As a workaround you can use the batches to startwith  'Admission Date'.
