Auto-Assigning an Opportunity based on Territory

Hi All,
I have written a WF that auto-assigns all new opportunities with specific values in the Territory field to a specific book. When I was building the rule it would not give me the available values to choose from, so I wrote it from scratch:
[<Territory>]=LookupValue("Territory", "Americas")
Did I get the syntax wrong or is it not possible to assign an opportunity to a book based on the Territory field?
If anyone has another idea of how to do this, I am open to suggestions.

That triggers whenever the territory field is changed from value "Americas" to something else. I have just tested it out and as of now (4/30/2008) that is how FieldValue functions.
That being said, does anybody have a solution to the original problem.
- Triggering a work flow rule when the territory (out of box read-only) field is a certain value.
I have tried -
[<Territory>] = LookupValue([<Territory>], "California")
FieldValue('<Territory>') = "California"
[<Territory>] = "California"
[<Territory>] = 'California'
None of these work.
Some one more well versed in the arcane art of OD manipulation please shed some light on this.

    Dear all,
    If I want to determine a territory based on customer, and Employee based on determined territory what configuration do I need to do?
    I am planning to do the following configuration for Opportunity Management, please suggest me whether my understanding is correct or not.
    Based on Rules defined in the territory for, customers will automatically assigned to the territory if the attribute value range matches.
    Using Access Sequence 0030-Territory Mgmt user for the Customer (Sales Prospect) partner function in Partner determination procedure.
    I believe this access sequence determines relevant territory based on Customer Attributes.
    Once the territory determines in the Opportunity, based on territory I want to determine assigned Employee responsible.
    How can I do this?
    Please suggest that how can we achieve this. Your help will be greatly appreciated.

    Hi Raghu,
    There is  some steps to determine the employee responsible for a territory.
    You have to define the oganisational model, define the territory, and the partner procedure linked to your activity type (opportunity...)
    1- you create organisational model (PPOMA_CRM)
    2- you define positions and affect employees to thoses positions
    3- SPRO: Customer Relationship Management
    Master Data
    Territory Management
    Assign Partner Function to Assignment Function Category
    Put there the Id of your patner funtion you want to use and TERR AFC 0000 and (if CRM 7.0) the Rel cat BUR011
    4- define your patner procedure and link it to your activity type (use the best practice for territory setup to do that)
    3- create your territory
    4- affect rules and positions (then employees will be affected automatically)
    Do not forget to indicate the partner function in front of each employee affected to the territory (the choice list of this field come from the customisation you made the step before)
    DONE

    We have a requirment where client wants us to do Auto Assignement of Service Request to engineers based upon the availibility and workload of engineer.
    For Example: If there are XX number of SR assigned to Engineer1 , then assign the new SR to Engineer2
    Also if the Engineer 2 has no bandwidth then assign it to Engineer 3
    Could you help me with some workaround for this in OD. Or if there any partner product who provides this functionality

    I have done this using Web Services / Java applying it to Team Member assignments for Opportunity. It would be a 90% plus fit that would have to be modified to apply to SRs. The rules are configurable by users as the rules are stored in a custom object in CRM On Demand. It is pretty slick and has been in production for about a year. It is a high volume client in a multi-tenent environment.
    You can write any rules that you want and the most used rules are the ones that balance work load across users that have the same role (round robin assignments). There are other rules that assign by availability based on the calendar, shifts, skills, etc. the sky is the limit.
    To create a new rule type requires writing a new method in java and adding the rule to the custom object. It is very flexible and extendable. The customer that is using it is extremely pleased with it.

  • ISE - auto assign a device to group upon device registration

    Hi,
    Is it possible to auto assign a device to group upon device registration?
    Typically in the registration portal, once "Register" button is clicked, the MAC address is put into "Registered Device" group, but let's say I want it to be put in different groups depending on the AD group? (Let's say when if Staff A register the device, the device automatically put into group A, Staff B to group B, and so forth)

    If you create a portal Specific for device registration, you can define to which ID groups will belong the registered endpoints.
    I didn't tried this, but it might be possible to have a different portal for registration based on AD group, if you chain it after CWA or Dot1x. That would make an additional redirection though.

  • Task Auto-Assignment in PJM (turning it off)

    My client is looking to turn off Task Auto-Assignment in Project Manufacturing after a restructure of the Project WBS / FBS. It will no longer be needed.
    I was wondering if anyone has done this. What are the steps? What are the concerns of doing this (data corruption, conversion, etc...)? Release 11.5.10.2
    I do know that one step in order to disable task auto-assignment is to change Project Control in Project Organization Parameters from Project to Task. Anything I am missing? When I do this and then try to assign the Project and Task to the Job (work order) it will not save. It gives me an error (Error: Task Auto Assignment Rules do not exist for the Project Assigned to this job). The work around is to turn task auto-assignment back on (Project Control field), assign some rule to the project in Project Parameters, and then turn the task auto-asignment back off. This then allows me to "save" the project and task to the Job (work order), but I would never be able to roll this out in a Production environment.

    I haven't tested it, but may suggest some considerations.
    All inventory and WIP transactions need to be costed and interfaced to Projects by cost collector before you change the setup of the project control in the organization.
    If you use Order Management, you might need to insert task number to any open sale order line.
    If you have open requisitions and purchase orders, they also need to get task number on the distribution lines. That is true even if the items were already received but not yet billed.
    On hand items in Inventory project locators, need to be transferred into project and tasks locators.
    Any planned work order, even if not yet released, need to get the task number.
    Based on the quantity of existing locators, jobs, POs and sale order, you might want to consider if it would not be easier to setup a new inventory organization with project and task control, and then move all PJM activity from existing organization into the new one.

  • Auto assign contentID from Site Studio Designer

    We automatically assign ContentIDs in the system upon Check-In using the Auto Number Prefix in the server configuration. However, when adding Site Assets through Site Studio Designer, this appears to have no affect, since that is the Assign Info Form and not the Check-In form.
    Any recommendations on enforcing auto-contentIDs from Site Studio Designer?

    Hi there,
    Personally, I wouldn't want to auto-assign dDocName to Site Studio asset related files (i.e. fragments, layouts, etc). I prefer to provide my own value based on the asset's purpose or name. Really helps you distinguish what that particular asset is for. Having a generic, system derived dDocName makes it harder to trace and associate.

    Hi!
    There is no event in ALV for a single mouse click, or entering into a field some value.
    There are events for double clicking on a field, or pressing ENTER button.
    Here's an example of the ALV event handling:
    At the double click or ENTER's event, you have to LOOP on your ALV's internal table and put the 'X' into the SET field, where ABC is filled.

    My Problem: Winning contract is not auto assign to Shopping cart
    I created a Quota Arrangement (QA). It contains 2
    contracts, for example in line item 1, contain Contract with Supplier
    'A', with target percentage of 60%. In line item 2, contain Contract with
    Supplier 'B', with target percentage of 40%. I did not specify any quotabase quantity.
    For your info, the contract for Supplier 'A" is a Purchasing Contract,
    with target value of 80 (currency Malaysian Ringgit). Contract for
    Supplier 'B' has target value of 20 (currency Malaysian Ringgit). When Icreate a Shopping Cart, with quantity 5 (each-EA) and price per unit is
    2
    (Malaysian Ringgit), total is MYR10. When I go to Source of Supply tab,
    the system showed 2 suppliers from the 2 contracts. It did not
    automatically assigned to the winning contract. We still have to choose
    which contract to be assigned. I created another SC after that until theContract exceeded quantity, but the system does not proposed winning
    contract automatically. Please help.

  • Assignment block 'Opportunity' in Corporate Account doesn't work

    Hello experts,
    When I create an Opportunity I have functions Prospect (corporate account) assigned to a Contact Person (private account).
    The assignement block 'Opportunity' is not being populated for either the Prospect or the Contact Person. That means that if I am in the Prospect account page, there is nothing in the assignement block 'Opportunity' (component BP_BPBT, view ContactOpportunities). And the same thing happens for the Contact Person account page, nothing is in the 'Opportunity' assignment block.
    I need to see all opportunities created for that Prospect. How does the view 'Opportunity' work in the accoutant page, if nothing is shown there??

    PS: a similar thing is happening for assigment block 'Leads'...I can see it populated in the Corporate Account page (prospect) but I cannot see it populated in the Private account page (contact person).

    Hello Tim.
    I believe this is the standard functionality. You can see the Leads in the Corporate Account, but not for the Contact Person.
    Please, see if that is true for you: go to the Corporate Account page, can you see the Leads in the assignment block? But for the Contact Person of this Corporate Account you won't be able to see it.
    However, you can view the Leads in the RELATION page. See if that is true for you too: access the relation page between the corporate and the contact person (imagine that you have 1 corporate account with 5 different contact persons...you will only be able to see the leads in the relation page, because you see the leads that are linked between the account and the specific contact person).
    I don't think there is a standard way to bring Leads into the Contact Person (private account). It is probably possible via enhancement.
    If you find a way, please let me know it too!
    As for Opportunities, the same thing happens: you can view the Opportunities in the Account page, but not the Contact Person. You can also view them in the relation page.
    Please let me know if you've found a way.

  • Using JavaScript to auto populate a field based on numeric value of a separate drop down field

    Hello, I am trying to set up a simple, I hope, javascript which will enable to me auto populate one field based on the numberic value of another field using Acrobat Pro XI.
    Essentially I have 2 drop down fields (we'll call them DD1 and DD2).
    DD1 is the sum of 8 preceding drop down values. That sum can be anywhere from 0 - 40. Whatever that sum falls within a range which identifies a rating. The ratings and ranges are below:
    0-8: Non-Performer  
    9-16: Low Performer  
    17-24: Performer  
    25-32: High Performer  
    33-40: Exceptional Performer
    DD2 is where the rating ("non-performer", "low performer", etc.) will be captured. Instead of requiring the user to look at DD1, determine the value, and then identify and input the rating manually, I would like DD2 to auto populate the rating based on the value (sum) in DD1.
    For example, if DD1 shows a value of 27 then DD2 would auto populate "High Performer". So how do I write this code or execute this? In excel I would use an if, then statement. Is there something similar in Acrobat Pro XI.

    Working with Designer ES ver. 8.2, and I am looking to see if it is possible to auto fill another field based on an end users input.
    Example: End-user enters a 6 digit departmentCode for a program; in turn the field opposite to the departmentCode auto fills with a corresponding programCode; if they do not input the correct 6 digit departmentCode the field will return a null value.
    I am trying to move away from my current auto fill drop-down option, so end-user is less likely to select incorrect departmentCode from drop-down

  • Auto-assign LPNs when performing receipts in Oracle WMS

    I am wondering if there is a way to auto assign LPNs to a receipt.
    Example:
    I order 2700 widgets
    900 widgets = 1 Pallet
    When the Order arrives; using the Mobile Devices; do I have to receive each pallet individually or can I perform one receipt and have Oracle configured to auto-assign the LPNs?
    We are running on 11.5.10.

    Are you open to using ASNs. If an ASN is created for a the PO, then you can have the material packed in the way you need it to be. The LPNs structure will be retained on receipt.
