BAM-00223 on SOA/BAM 11.1.1.2

We are trying to stand up SOA/BAM 11.1.1.2 on a Windows Server 2003 machine (32-bit). When we use our web browser to go to http://<ourServer>:9001/OracleBAM, the Login page comes up. So far so good! Then we enter the username/password and click [Go] and receive the following error:
SERVICEUNAVAILABLEEXCEPTION_STARTPAGE_STARTUP_INITIALIZE
If we click Details, we receive the following message:
Exception Message BAM-00223: Service oracle.bam.adc.common.core.IDataStore is unavailable.
The logfiles show no record of this error. The Oracle documentation (http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E15523_01/core.1111/e10113/chapter_bam_messages.htm) tells us this:
BAM-00223: Service {0} is unavailable. Cause: The specified Oracle BAM Service is currently unavailable.
Action: Ensure that the specified Oracle BAM Service is started.
Level: 1
Type: ERROR
Impact: Data
Googling for "Oracle" and "IDataStore", "BAM" and "IDataStore", "Oracle BAM Service", and "BAM-00223" didn't bring back anything that tells us what the service is or how to start it. Does anyone have insight into what we need to do to proceed? Do we need to run IIS in 11.1.1.2 (I read that it was a requirement in 10g) in order for this to work?
Thanks,
Scott

Thanks for the help and the clarification about IIS. Unfortunately, the suggestions so far have not solved the problem. We have investigated the following per your suggestions:
- Yes, we can log in to Enterprise Manager. It shows that the Admin, SOA, and BAM servers are up.
- Via SQL*Plus, we can log in as DEV_ORABAM and see a bunch of tables, and we see rows in some of those tables. Is this what you mean by "check that your data sources are configured correctly"?
- We are using Internet Explorer version 8.0.6001.18702
- We did steps 1, 2, and 3 as described. We did #3 again today just to be sure, and all tests run from within the wizard passed.
- As noted above, we logged into the DB via SQL*Plus, which we assume means that the DB is up. How would we check that we specified the same DB schema during rcu and config? Does being able to log in to Enterprise Manager prove this? We have some screenshots of what we entered on each screen and cannot find any significant differences between our entries for rcu and config (although I wouldn't be too surprised if I need to eat my words later); is there a more scientific way of figuring out whether they are the same?
Thanks,
Scott

  • SOA 11.1.1.5 two Node Cluster BAM not starting on the second Machine

    Hi,
I have installed Oracle SOA 11.1.1.5 in a 2 Node Cluster. Both SOA Managed Servers are coming up fine. BAM Managed Server installed on the primary HOST also comes up fine. But my second BAM Managed Server is not starting. I don't see anything in the logs and on the Console the status is showing as Starting but it never starts. I can access the BAM Console for the one installed on the primary HOST but when giving the URL for the second HOST it doesn't come up as the I don't see an option the server is running.
I have 2 machines for this cluster setup
On machine one with IP Address: *192.168.2.2* all below servers come-up fine
    Admin
    BAM1
    SOA1
On machine two with IP Address: *192.168.3.3* have the below servers and only the SOA is coming up fine BAM not starting
    BAM2 not starting
    SOA2 coming up fine also
After giving user/password this is what I see in the terminal window and it never moves looks like getting stuck:

    Hi,
I have installed Oracle SOA 11.1.1.5 in a 2 Node Cluster.

  • I have SOA suite and Jdeveloper, what do i need more for BAM ?

    Hi
Thank you for reading my post
I have installed both soa suite and latest version of jdeveloper
I can see BAM node under connections node but i do not know how should i add the bam server connection.
    so my questions are :
-should i install the bam server seperately or it come with ORACLE SOA suite?
-if i should install seperately, where is hould find it?
-if it is inside the SOA suite How i can activate it and add it to my Jdeveloper?
    thanks

\BAM is part of SOA suite, but BAM should be installed separately, Go to http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/integration/bam/index.html for details.

  • BAM Doesn't exist in SOA 11.1.1.5.0 Installer

    Hi
I'm installing Oracle SOA Suite 11.1.1.5.0. I've extracted two downloaded zip files (ofm_osb_generic_11.1.1.5.0_disk1_1of1 and ofm_osb_generic_11.1.1.5.0_disk1_1of2). The progress continues normally until it reaches "*Copying files for: Oracle BAM 11.1.1.5.0*". It asks me to insert Disk 3 of Oracle SOA Suite. I've also changed the "disk.label" file in stage folders of second zip file, too looks like Disk 3, but the error still exists.
It seems that it's looking for data files of BAM. It's searching for "*stage/Components/oracle.integration.bam/11.1.1.5.0/1/DataFiles/filegroup3.jar*". I've checked this folder. There is no directory named "DataFiles" in this path. It seems that BAM doesn't exist in 11.1.1.5.0 distribution!
Is there anything that I've missed during installation?
    Edited by: user2169403 on Jun 4, 2011 2:34 AM
    Sorry!
Those files were from two different product :D. That was my mistake. The first one was from osb and the second one was from ofm.

Hey Man, I am running into exact same issue. I am getting a dialog box for inserting disk number 3 for BAM and I am also using the same version as you are. Can you please explain in little detail on how you solved this? I could not understand your updated response on you how you fixed it.
    Thanks,

  • Getting BEA-170011 error in soa, osb, bam servers

    Dear Friends,
i am getting below error in the soa, osb and bam servers,
<BEA-170011> <The LogBroadcaster on this server failed to broadcast log messages to the admin server. The Admin server may not be running. Message broadcasts to the admin server will be disabled.>
please tell me how to fix this.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Pavan.

I am able to telnet the IP and port of this webservice from my machineThat confirms the webservice is up, to confirm you have connectivity from osb to the webservice you need to telnet from the host that's running osb to the IP and port of that webservice...
Do you have a proxy configured on start up properties of the osb? Look for things like -Dhttp.proxyHost=192.4.229.194 -Dhttp.proxyPort=80 into the setDomainEnv.sh(cmd) script...
If the server is internal, you may need to add id to the non-proxy hosts...
    Cheers,
    Vlad

  • SOA - Database Adapter push data to BAM

I would like to create an SOA application to pull data from an Oracle Database and push it Oracle BAM.
In the past I've done this by using the "Polling for new or changed records in a table" from the Database Adapter to pull new data from the database. However, I wish to know if it is possible for me to somehow configure the adapter to execute a query on the database, grab the results and push them through the Mediator and onto the BAM adapter.
The main point here is that there is no Table or View on the database to supply the data. The data is created dynamically as a query result when / if the database adapter runs the query on the database.
This needs to happen periodically (as with the polling for changes method).
    Is this possible?

    Hi
I believe the below option will help you.
1.Create a BPEL process and inside that use the DB adapter to execute the query and fetch the data and push the same to BAM through the BAM Adapter.
2.Schedule the BPEL process with Quartz Scheduler(default option provided by Oracle BPEL) to run periodically as per your requirement.

  • SOA BAM Adapter for OSB 11g ?

  • Cloning BAM/SOA enviroment

I am developing a BAM solution to a client using BAM 11.1.1.3 build 8533.
I started using version 11.1.1.4, in my development environment, and before to deploy at client's homologation environment, I tried to deploy in my own test environment, with version 11.1.1.3, in a VM hosted in Amazon servers.
After import the xml files generated with icommand, the dashboards are displayed normally, but when i try to edit them, a problem occurs.
The Properties tabs are shown normally, but the Data tabs are shown without text, blank (different of shown on http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E16764_01/integration.1111/e10230/img/bam_as_chart_general.gif), and are not selectable. So I cannot to change view's data informations, like group by, calculated fields, and so on.
Is there a way to configure BAM/SOA to ensure full compatibility between the two environments?
This can be a problem that is not of configuration?
    Thanks.
    Luciano

OK. So what version is the other server?
You can check if the second server is using the correct version of jdk . It isn't using JROCKIT right?
Normally it is the jdk that is not compatible and I do know that we saw some issues on jrockit 1.6.20 during testing.
I do not believe there is a specific file that you can refer to .
There are a few other things that were noted in the release notes that apply to previous versions of BAM as well as IE so take a look

    Hi there
I have a Technote that shows how the information can be published from EBS to BAM. In addition you could create an end to end visibility across the products e.g. B2B - BPEL - EBS - Financials etc by raising the events to BAM .
There is no out of the box dashboards available today. However, i have a number of customers who are doing this use case by themselves or through some SI/Oracle consulting.
can we contact you offline to discuss your requirement?
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/integration/bam/11g/technotes11g/whitepaperBAM_E-BusinessSuiteIntegration.pdf
There are certified adapters available for EBS to FM as well.

  • Configuration needed for SOA ,BPM,OSB,BAM

    HI,
Could any one suggest best configuration System to run all SOA products parallayly as shown below..
    SOA ---? (eg.2GB RAM)
    BPM--?
    OSB---? (1GB)
    BAM---?
    Database ---? (ForMeta data repository)
do we have 64 bit software for above..I could see only 32 bit version in Oracle download page?

    Hi Siva,
I have ran all the softwares on my system with 8GB but had issues running all of them at the same time. I would say, go with 16 GB (6-8 cores) system in DEV.
    SOA ---? (eg.2GB RAM)2GB for DEV
    BPM--?2GB for DEV
    OSB---? (1GB)2GB for DEV
    BAM---? 1GB for DEV
Database ---? (ForMeta data repository)1GB for DEV (use XE database); you would require 2-3 GB if you want to run Oracle 11g DB

  • Unable to connect to soa and bam server

Hello, I am struggling from 3 days to run the SOA server, I don't understand where I am going wrong, whenever I try starting soa server it says
Connection refused: connect. Could not connect to NodeManager. Check that it is running at localhost:5556.,
When I start the node manager and try to start the server again, it says
Exception while starting server 'soa_server1'. I Reinstalled the whole soa suite multiple times but it is showing the same error again. Any help is really appreciated. Thanks.

Same reply posted to your other question.
    Hi
    1. By default, using out of box scripts (if you have NOT modified them), startWeblogic.cmd will start only the Admin Server. It will NOT start any managed servers like soa or bam.
    2. You mentioned it worked earlier. May be you modified it. OR you may had just one AdminServer that has SOA Components also. Like we can have Developers Domain for SOA/BPM where you will have just one Admin Server with all soa modules deployed. So starting Admin Server will be sufficient and you can access your soa stuff also.
    3. The real way to start any managed server is go to domain/bin folder and run : startManagedWeblogic.cmd (.sh for unix) nameofmanagedserver adminhost:adminport. If all parameters are correct, it will ask for Username and Password. You enter admin username and password.
    4. Another way is using Node Manager or back ground start up services. When node manager is used, it will NOT prompt for username and password. It will expect this information at some specified location and if that is NOT there, it will just die. Now that specific location is nothing but, under each managed server you should have a folder by name security. And under that folder have a file by name boot.properties. This file will have 2 lines like username=adminusername and in next line password=adminpassword.
More details: Re: While starting managed servers asks for password of localhost

  • BAM can't connect so SOA Suite 10g

    Hi,
I'm trying to use BAM 11g TP4 out of my existing BPEL project, which is deployed on an oc4j (SOA Suite 10g). Unfortunalety I have to use JDeveloper 10g, so there's no way to get BAM Connection, which forced me to usa a JMS Adapter.
The problem is, BAM can't connect to the SOA Suite. I added an Enterprise Message Sources with the following properties.
    Initial Context Factory: oracle.j2ee.rmi.RMIInitialContextFactory
    JNDI Service Provider URL: opmn:ormi://localhost:6003:home/default

    DataObject Name: /EUDLR/AntragsAbwicklung/Antrag
    Operation: Insert
    Batching: No
    Transaction: No
Start when BAM Server starts: Yes
    JMS Username (Optional):
    JMS Password (Optional):
    Message Specification
    Message Element Name: Pre
    Column Value
    Element Tag
    Attribute
Source to Data Object Field Mapping
Key Tag name Data Object Field
    . roh. rohdaten.
Testing the connection results in the following error:
Test nicht erfolgreich - BAM-00553: Start der Ressource für Ziel "jms/demoQueue" war nicht erfolgreich. (means: test not successful, unable to start "jms/demoQueue")
Do I have to make any further configurations?

    Hi,
may be you have to use ODI to read JMSQ and to put data to BAM11gTP4 because it does not work with SOA10g. Alternative you can use WebServces to publish BAM11g Dataobjects.

  • Empty tabs in BAM Active Studio (SOA Suite 11.1.1.3)

    Hi all,
I experienced an issue with BAM Active Studio and the SUN jdk 1.60_18 in SOA Suite 11.1.1.3. When I click "edit view" in a report, the "Data" tabs are all empty. The issue only occurs with the bundled SUN jdk 1.60_18 (under Windows 7). It does not occur when using the bundled jrockit 1.60_17.

    Hi,
I successfully installed SOA Suite 11.1.1.3 too on windows 2003server
    I first Installed oracle database11.2.0.2
then Created RCU - 11.1.1.2.1 using prefix "DEV",but no use the RCU 11.1.1.3
after Installed WLS 10.3.3 full install
Finally Installed SOA Suite 11.1.1.2.0 in the middleware home created in Step 3
and Upgraded SOA Suite from 11.1.1.2 to 11.1.1.3
so we hava the same steps.I run the em and console successful, and all the soa Components are run Operating normally!
and I found not any different between RCU 11.1.1.2.1 and RCU 11.1.1.3 on install soa suite.
I want to know you to Exchange our soa Experience!

  • Oracle BAM part of SOA release?

Isn't Oracle BAM part of SOA suite? If so, is it part of 10.1.3.1 SOA Preview release?
There used to be BPEL Process Analytics with earlier release and there is the Peoplesoft aquired .NET version of BAM. I am not so clear on the BAM road map with respect to SOA suite.
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards,
    Rajesh

In 10.1.3. BAM is still .net based (at lease partly) which means you need to install it seperatly - but the good news is we are working ahrd to make it j2ee - and going forward it will be part of the whole thing
