Basic Configuration Question

I am in definite need of assistance.
I have a MacBook. I have an Airport Express that I would like to use as m base station for wireless connection to the internet. I have a Motorola 2210 dsl modem. I think I have configured my Motorola 2210 dsl modem correctly to connect to the internet when I plug the ethernet cord from the dsl modem to the MacBook.
Now, what I need to do is configure a wireless connection via my airport express and my dsl modem so that both my macbook and my ipod touch can access the internet.
I need assistance on what the correct configuration settings are to do this.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

run an ethernet cable from the modem to the express. on the MB, turn airport on and launch *airport utility* (in applications/utilities). when the express (AX) appears in airport utility (AU), click on continue and follow on-screen instructions. have the AX +create a wireless network+ and enter the details for your ISP (account name, password). use WPA2 and a long, non-dictionary password made up of letters and numbers for network security (make sure you save the password in your keychain).
also, be sure to give the AX a name and secure the base station with a strong password (save in your keychain).
when done, click on update and wait for the AX to restart. once it has, you should see a green status light and your MB should have access to the internet. now you can connect your Touch to the network you created.

I'm a newbie in Cisco configuration. Using the Cisco 7604 load balancer, wanted to acheive two things firstly single ip for the applications and the failover of my servers.
Configuration description
I have an Application client connected to the vserver configuration (LAVSERV) on Cisco 7604 Load Balancer and two servers (JBoss) S1 and S2 configured to the real ip as configured in the serverFarm. All the three systems (Load Balancer,S1 and S2) are in the same LAN.

When I try connect to my servers through the client application I get connection exception. Basically I'm telling my client application to connect to webservice url http://10.2.11.141:1813. Due to the configuration on Load Balancer for servers, Load balancer should route my request to either of the Servers S1 or S2.
I have a doubt here, have not mentioned the port anywhere on which my JBoss (S1 or S2) is running.Is beacuse of this I'm getting connection exception, if yes, kindly let me know how to configure the port along with the real server IP.

Now on both the real servers I see the request is coming but still the request doesn't reach my application (JBoss).

During the client application invocation I see the following changes in the detail ouput of 7604. From the wireshark logs (attached pic) I could see the request (SYN) goes to the servers but servers are not responding. My server application doesn't respond because it has not got the request. 7604 invokes 11.11 it doesn't respond to SYN request so it invokes 11.211.

If my client application talk to the real servers directly my server application gets invoked and client get the reply.
But same is not happening through the 7604.
Only change I do on my client config file is just uncomment the 7604 vip or the real ip for my client to connect:

I feel the packets which are reaching my real server through 7604 are not proper so my server application doesn't get invoked.

Roaming configuration question with help needed!

I am installing multiple AEBS (4 to be exact) and I want to support a roaming network throughout my house. I have run through all the setups and have them all up running but it appears as I do not have the roaming part quite right. I have followed all the manuals , (setting bridge mode, SSID, WPA2, etc...) my question, that I cannot seem to find the answer to in any white paper - is at the wireless setup part -
I guess I should tell the quick layout. I have a router in my electric room so I just want the AEBS's to act as bridges with no DHCP - I understand that and have them configured that way, all with their own manual IP address.
Back to the question - I currently have 1 of the AEBS set on "create a wireless network" with the allow extend checkbox marked. The others set as extensions - when I do this - I lose my SSID completely and cannot connect wirelessly. Am I mixing WDS up with roaming a little? Should they all be set at "create wireless" or none -
Any help is very much appreciated!!

I guess I didn't explain it good enough?
All of my base stations (AEBS) are hardwired throughout the house - I do not want to use WDS (performance is to poor) I want them bridged. This is a fairly simple process using a product such as a Linksys Access Point - you just create a wireless network and choose a different channel for each WAP - maybe I just answered my own question?? The AEBS wireless setup asks (Do you want to create, do you want to participate in WDS, or do you want to extend a wireless network) I have been choosing create for 1 and extending for the others - not working. Should I be choosing create for them all and changing the channels is basically my question??

Are you required to perform the "Basic Configuration" everytime after you apply a new support pack stack to solution manager?
Or is it a one off, after the initial installation?

SAP-JEE, SAP_BUILDT, and SAP_JTECHS and Dev Configuration questions

Hi experts,
I am configuring NWDI for our environment and have a few questions that I'm trying to get my arms around.
I've read we need to check-in SAP-JEE, SAP_BUILDT, and SAP_JTECHS as required components, but I'm confused on the whole check-in vs. import thing.
I placed the 3 files in the correct OS directory and checked them in via the check-in tab on CMS.   Next, the files show up in the import queue for the DEV tab. My questions are what do I do next?
1. Do I import them into DEV? If so, what is this actually doing? Is it importing into the actual runtime system (i.e. DEV checkbox and parameters as defined in the landscape configurator for this track)? Or is just importing the file into the DEV buildspace of NWDI system?
2. Same question goes for the Consolidation tab.    Do I import them in here as well?
3. Do I need to import them into the QA and Prod systems too? Or do I remove them from the queue?
Development Configuration questions ***
4. When I download the development configuration, I can select DEV or CON workspace. What is the difference? Does DEV point to the sandbox (or central development) runtime system and CONS points to the configuration runtime system as defined in the landscape configurator? Or is this the DEV an CON workspace/buildspace of the NWDI sytem.
5. Does the selection here dictate the starting point for the development? What is an example scenarios when I would choose DEV vs. CON?
6. I have heard about the concept of a maintenance track and a development track. What is the difference and how do they differ from a setup perspective?   When would a Developer pick one over the over?

"Check-In" makes SCA known to CMS, "import" will import the content of the SCAs into CBS/DTR.
1. Yes. For these three SCAs specifically (they only contain buildarchives, no sources, no deployarchives) the build archives are imported into the dev buildspace on CBS. If the SCAs contain deployarchives and you have a runtime system configured for the dev system then those deployarchives should get deployed onto the runtime system.
2. Have you seen /people/marion.schlotte/blog/2006/03/30/best-practices-for-nwdi-track-design-for-ongoing-development ? Sooner or later you will want to.
3. Should be answered indirectly.
4. Dev/Cons correspond to the Dev/Consolidation system in CMS. For each developed SC you have 2 systems with 2 workspaces in DTR for each (inactive/active)
5. You should use dev. I would only use cons for corrections if they can't be done in dev and transported. Note that you will get conflicts in DTR if you do parallel changes in dev and cons.

However there is no such guide on Portal integration with GRC, you might need to follow below steps:
1- Create one HTTP type RFC connection between GRC and Portal system.
2- Create System Alias in portal system for GRC system
3- Deploy the GRC Portal content in Portal system
5-Portal content comes with 5 work-sets and one security role.You can assign the portal role that comes with the Portal content to user in Portal and also GRC roles to the same user in GRC system.

Basic iPhoto questions:

I have some Basic iPhoto questions before I start using the program:
- does iPhoto apply any compression or change images in any way when they
are imported?
- after images are imported, can the original source folder of images be deleted off of the mac?
- can Quicktime files exported from iPhoto be viewed on a Windows computer?
- can iPhoto handle large resolution images that might be as large as 8-15mb each? does it display them quick? are there any known file size issues?

iPhoto is a consumer level photo organiser, not a server. It's possible to share photos but libraries are very difficult and fraught with the danger of database corruption. Some have reported success.
Is it possible to password protect or secure certain images in the library so they can not be seen by anyone?
No. The best I can suggest there is to create a second library and store it in a secure area like a protected dmg. But remember, you can only have one library open at a time.
After photos are deleted from iPhoto, are there any remaining traces or cached files anywhere other than the trash
If you delete photos from iPhoto and empty the iPhoto trash then the pics are removed from the Finder as well. They remain as findable as any other deleted file from that point, which is, very, if the searcher in knowledgeable.

Object class deployment - Basic form question

OK, I subclass calendar object from Oracle provided standard
object class. What do I need to deploy to use this form now
apart from calendar.pll and my fmx. What about the object class
from which I sub-class. Do I need to compile and deploy that
also? How will form resolve this on run time the parent object
class as I really did not copy, just sub class and we do not
deploy original class? Basic form question. Thanks.

You can set the "help" property on the field (which gives you the little "information" icon link beside the field).
You could also try adding another field of another class above or below:

Dear Janarthan, As a pre-requisite to this step you need to perform following first then take it head with basic configuration.
1. A diagnostics agent needs to be installed and connected to Solman on the Wily EM host.
2. The operating system user of the diagnostics agent needs to have read write access the Wily EM installation directory. (defaul : /usr/sap/ccms/wilyintroscope).
Also, You would need to have the Wily EM installed as suggested by Matt to resume the Basic Config at Solman.

Several errors during system preparation / basic configuration

Hello,
during the basic configuration I get stuck in the process step configure automatically -> setup bw.
In the slg1 I can see several errors where I don't know if they are related to my bw problem or other probleme. Maybe someone can give me a hint how to solve the issue.

I wouldn't recommend looking at SLG1 at all times and try to find solutions for it, since Solution Manager deals with a huge landscape and in most cases some warning is thrown in the logs for any reason.
For example, the "CL_DIAGLS_ABAP_INST_TECH_SY Item does not exist" and "no active standalone product version @35\QLong text exists@" can be due to systems coming from SLD to the LMDB with no correct definition. If SLD is not passing this information, it is 99% because the system is not well defined there. Hence it is just a warning.
Now if you see something in SLG1 and indeed you have issues in this diagnostics system, it must be investigated.
For your BI problem:
Please execute the steps as described in section "3.2.1 Activation of
Info Cube from BI Content" in the Setup BPA Guide.

Furthermore, I strongly recommend that, for Solution Manager 7.1, you make sure you have the latest SP in ABAP and JAVA. Now we are at ST400 SP03 and LM-SERVICE SP03 patch level 1.

You can also configure portal connection manually. Please check the Configuration Guide in SAP Solution Manager or offline downloaded configuration guide in http://service.sap.com/srm-inst SAP SRM Server 7.0 -> Configuration Guide for SAP SRM 7.0 -> Business Package for SAP SRM 7.0.
You can also access SRM via NWBC html in current SRM 7.0 SP06 without Portal. It is called Portal-Independent Navigation Frame.

on the gatway system that you are registering the <Program ID>.

The 'TP Name' column is the 3rd column.
Can you advise :

if the RFC destination (created on the ECC) system is working by using the 'Test Connection' option in the SM59 RFC destination?
(2)
Is the respective RFC Sender Adapter Communication Channel activated?
(3) how you are call in the RFC, e.g. ABAP report or SE37?

SolMan 7.1 Configuration:Basic Configuration -Step 2

Hi All,
I completed the upgradation of SolMan 7.1 with SPS04 and did the System preperation and Basic Configuration.(txn:solman_setup)
In the Basic Configuration at the step #2 - Specify User & Connectivity Data I'm still seeing the yellow simbol(Activity Warnings), but within this step all the sub steps( 2.1 to 2.5) are in Green mode.
Do you guys know how to remove this yellow symbol on the step#2?
