Basic start date & Basic finish date based on Priority

Dear Experts,
When I am creating Notification & selecting Priority, System gives pop-up “do you want to specify new dates?” If I select yes system automatically change required start & required end based on Priority.
Now my question is do we have same functionality for Maintenance order as priority field is available there (If we are directly creating a MO)?
Even if we are creating WO from notification, required start & end dates copies to Basic start & Basic finish but if we change priority then no change in basic start & finish dates. Why?

Greetings Parag,
You may select the Priority in the initial screen of IW31 and the dates will shift accordingly, if you maintained the Relative Start &/or Relative End in
SPRO > Plant Maintenance > Maintenance Processing > Maintenance & Service Orders > General Data > Define Priorities > Define Priorities for Each Priority Type
If you want to change date based on Priority on the Order header screen, it's not possible in the standard to my knowledge, but you may easily develop an enhancement utilizing the user exit
IWO10012 Maintenance order: Priority handling on central header
or
IWO10009 PM Order: Customer Check for 'Save' Event

  • Earliest Start and Earliest Finish dates for Tasks

    Hi experts,
Can anybody tell me in what table are the Earliest Start and Earliest Finish dates for tasks located? If no table is available does anyone know of a BAPI o function to obtain these dates?
    Thanks and best regards,
    Fernando

    Hi Wendy!
Thank you so much for your explanation, we have done exactly what you mentioned in your post. In fact we are now using the SCHEDULED_START and SCHEDULED_FINISH instead of the PLANSTART and PLANFINISH.
OK so this is how it went:
In transaction SE11 we added the two fields in our append structure ZDPR_TS_DASHBOARD.
We added them just like they are named:
    SCHEDULED_START type DPR_TV_SCHEDULED_START
    SCHEDULED_FINISH type DPR_TV_SCHEDULED_FINISH
When doing so, it gave off a warning that SCHEDULED_START and SCHEDULED_FINISH are not customer fields and should have a YY or ZZ in front. I ignored the warning based on your advice and activated the append anyway.
So that´s how the append went.
Next on to the SPRO config:
In the define atributes part,  SCHEDULED_START and SCHEDULED_FINISH are already defined as attributes, however I am not sure how the rest of the configurations should go, for example:
Attr.Type, Summarization Rule, Summ. Res,  Init Vals., or Reference Attribute.
I left these values standard and didn´t modify anything in this part of SPRO.
Next I checked in the extract layout configuration in SPRO and verified if they were in the 0_Dashboard. It was there alright, but again I am not sure if I should flag any of the two flags in that configuration:
Always Extract and Calculate after Aggr.
    I left them blank (standard).
In summary, I didn´t have to do any configuration in SPRO...
I went to the Tasks Dashboard in cProjects and the new columns keep coming with blank values...
What do you think Wendy? Am I still missing something?
    Thanks again and regards,
    Fernando

  • Early Start and Early Finish Dates for Completed Activities?

I am using P6 release 7 and having a problem with Early Start and Early Finish Dates for completed activities. For example, for an activity "A" the actual start date is 10-Oct-2013 and actual finish date is 19-Oct-2013, and activity is 100% completed but somehow P6 showing me the Early Start Date 02-Nov-2013 and Early Finish Date 02-Nov-2013. To me early start and early finish dates should not really be a matter for completed activities but I like to know why and how P6 calculates early start and finish dates for completed activities. Please let me know if somebody has an answer.
    Thanks

Does this activity have a resource assigned? If so, check if the resource is closed (expended) otherwise it may continue to reflect future possible progress based on unused resources.

  • Early Start and Early Finish Dates

When I build a schedule I always build it to early start and early finish dates. When I go to update my project the items that are finished always return a blank in the early start and early finish dates. Is there a way to get the program to still show the dates that the activities started and finished on in the early start early finish columns? I would like to be able to use the early start and finish columns instead of having to add more columns to be able to look back and see the start and finish dates for an activity that has already been completed.
    Thanks,

  • Earlier date in finish date field than the forecast start date (in Proj def

    Hi Experts
I have foreast start and forecast finish dates maintained in Project definition. N dates in WBS elements.
However I am able to maintain an earlier date (than forecast start date) in Finish Date field in PD.
I believe there should be a  validation with dates.
    Please provide clues.
    Warm regards
    ramSiva

    Hi,
Please create a validation rule with all prerequisites, check and message .Assign it to the project profile. For the running project , open the project in CJ20N ,--> Edit -->Validation and select this validation for the system to respond appropriately.

  • Basic start date and finish date changing in the past

    Hello Gurus,
I set the scheduling parameters as " Do not adjust basic dates, dep rqmts to order start " and also assigned the priority to populate the basic finish date. System does calculate the finish date based on the priority and start date as current date but it does allow me to change both dates in past or future which should not happen.
Please do note that I activated the defaulted date as current date as well. Even I removed this mark and did not work.
Please let me know if there is any way to restrcit the changing it alteast in the past.
    Mahee

This can be prevented using one the following ways depending upon your needs
---> Set the "start in past" field to appropriate value using transaction OPU7 for order type /Plant combination
---> Make the "Basic start date  and Basic end date" fields as "Display only" through the Field selection config for the order type.
---> Use the user exit on "SAVE" of the order to check for the same

    Hi Babu
Pl check customizing settings with OPU7 transaction. - Plant & Order Type - Scheduling Customizing settings
If Order dates to be adjusted based on Scheduling for the selected plant then Select 1st option - Adjust Basic Dates, Adjust Basic Requirement to Order Start.

  • Timescaledata Start Date and Finish Date not both inclusive

From testing a bit with Time Scale Values in Visual Basic I noticed that when specifying Start and Finish dates for accessing Time Scale Data those dates were not both inclusive. The fact is that specifying a Start Date for Time Scale values will return
data for which dates are greater or equal to the Start Date Specified but when also specifying a Finish Date the Time Scale values returned are only the ones that are less than the Finish Date specified not the ones less or equal as one would expect since
the Start date is Incllusive. This is true for actual work with Microsoft Project 2007 and 2013 unsing Visual studio 2013. Has anyone experienced such a behavior? Is this a intended Behavior? Please see following code snippet

    Jaques,
In my example, the ass.start and ass.finish are the start and finish dates respectively of the assignment. Since the resource is assigned full time for the whole duration of the task, the assignment start and finish are the same as the task start and finish,
namely, Dec 1, 2014 and Dec 7, 2014. If you only want data for specific days, say Dec 4, 2014 and Dec 5, 2014, then the syntax would be:
    Set TSV = ass.TimeScaleData("12/4/14", "12/5/14", pjAssignmentTimescaledWork, pjTimescaleDays)
The result will be 7h and 8h respectively.
If you want to print out the date along with the hours for each day in the Immediate Window, the following modification to the macro will do that:
    Sub testtimescale()
    Dim ass As Assignment
    Dim TSV As TimeScaleValues
    Dim val As TimeScaleValue
    Dim i As Integer
Dim Da As Date, St As Date, Fi As Date
    For Each ass In ActiveProject.Tasks(1).Resources(1).Assignments
        St = ass.Start: Fi = ass.Finish
        Set TSV = ass.TimeScaleData(St, Fi, _
            pjAssignmentTimescaledWork, pjTimescaleDays)
            Da = DateValue(St)
        For Each val In TSV
            Debug.Print Da & " " & val / 60 & " hours"
            Da = DateValue(Da + 1)
        Next val
    Next ass
    End Sub

  • Automatic update of start date and finish dates in chart

    Hi,
Are having several charts in our customized reports where we weekly go in and change the start and finish dates of the charts in order to show fresh data. Is there way of doing this using VBA? (Next week for the below chart would then state 3 as start
week and 10 as finish week.)
The dates are today Changed manually in the below standard form.
Hope it is explained clear enough and that there is a way of programming it.
    Kind regards //Anders

Have been trying a bit more and found out how to access the chart to a certain extent. It seems to be possible the change the X-Axis Values via:
    chart.axes(xlcategory).minimumscale
    chart.axes(xlcategory).maximummscale
Are however not able to find values that really will show up, have tried numerous formats, and by using just simple numbers like for example 100 the code runs, but the X-axis values dissapears instead of changing.
The question is if it is at all possible to then also change the actual data in the chart to show the weeks that are entered. No use of changing the axis values without changing the data for the weeks as well. Have not been able to find anything about accessing
the data values, perhaps they are not accessible? From within MS Project it is not possible to Clock on the "edit source data" in the menu which appears when right clicking on the chart.
    Any ideas are welcome.
    Kind regards //Anders

  • Completion percentage - If my Status date Task finish date & applied completion percentage 100% = ? New finish date for the task?

Hi and sorry for the title but it well summarize my question.
In fact I applied a completion percentage of 25% on a task with a finish date inferior to the entered status date.
MS Project only modified the Act. work  of the task but not its finish date.
    Is it a normal behaviour?
    Thanks a lot for help
    Paul

    Paul --
To answer your question, yes, what you are seeing is normal behavior.  If you want Microsoft Project 2010 or 2013 to automatically adjust the Finish date based on the Status Date, you will need to do the following:
Click File > Options > Advanced.
In the Calculation Options section of the Advanced page, select the option named Move Start of Remaining Parts Before Status Date Forward to Status Date.
    Click the OK button.
If you select this option and enter task progress as you described in your question, Microsoft Project will force a task split, moving the uncompleted part of the task to start immediately after the Status date.  In the same Calculation Options section
of the Advanced page of the Project Options dialog, you might also want to select the option named And Move End of Completed Parts Forward to Status Date.  With this option selected in addition to the one mentioned in step #2 above, Microsoft Project
will move the completed portion of the task to the Status Date so that you do not see a task split at all.
Whether you use one or both of these options would be entirely up to you, based on what you want to see in the software.  Neither is perfect, but I think one or both of these would give you the automatic scheduling that you seek.  Hope this helps.

  • Basic Start/Finish Date and Requirment Date in Maintenance Order

    Sir,
We want to know the link between Order Start/finish date and requirement date in Maintenance Order.
As we are facing problem during change in dates.
When we change either start date or finish date in the order, the system automatically change the requirment date as of ondate of all the materials which has been earlier issued and also consider the today date.
    Like in Maintenance Order
    Basic Start Date - 01.04.2009
    Basic End Date  - 31.05.2009
We have issued materials on the order at different date by putting offset value for the requirement date.
Now if we increase the Basic End Date of order to n30.062.009 or whatelse, the system automatically changes the requirement dates of all the materials issue based on current date. Suppose we changed the Basic End date on 10.11.2009, the system changes all the requirement dates by calulating offset value from 10.11.2009. However these materials has been issued earlier.
I want to know if there is any remedy to stop to change the requirement dates automatically.
    With Regards
    Mudit Gupta

    HI
In general the requirement date will get changed only when the IMG settings in OPU7 permits the requirments dates should be adjusted towards the order basic start and end dates
kinldy check and adjust as per the requirement

  • Basic Start and Finish Date coming as default while Order Creation (IW31)

    Hi Members,
I am in situation where in i am trying to cretae an order from IW31 but after the order creation basic start and basic finish date is being updated as default date which is the current date of creation.
I have written my code in Include LCOINFNJ where basic start and basic finish date should get populated as per my written code .After debugging i found that the code is populating the dates in structure CAUFVD-GSTRP(basic start date)  and
CAUFVD-GLTRP(basic end date) but whill posting at user command  SAVE the fields are getting updated back to default dates.
Even after adding an enhancement point at the end of below given FM where in i am hardcoding the values still the issue remains the same .
Function Module : CO_ZV_ORDER_POST is the FM responsible for posting.
Please help regarding this issue .
    Thanks and Regards.

    Hi ,
If you do not want start and finish date as current date then u can do it via config
spro ->pm -->maintenance order processing -->Maintenance and service orders -->general data -->Activate default date for current date as basic date  here for a particular plant remove the tick mark in default current date , thus when u create MO on that plant then u will not get any default dates in basic start date and finish date ...

  • Work Order Basic Start Date and Basic Finish Date to be changed

    Hi,
Currently the business creates work orders without specifying the work resulting which the start and fish dates on work order are same. Also we have automatic scheduling turned off. In spite of this If I am trying to manual modify the basic start and basic finish dates on work order it does not allow me to do so. This issue is seen with work orders which are Released whereas orders with status outstanding have no issues. Could anyone please let me know what could be the reason?
    Thanks,
    Vinay

Please check whether Scheduling type only capacity requirement is configured.
If yes, choose this scheduling type in order, you can able to change Basic start date & basic finish date.

  • Scheduled start and Finish date .

    Hi Everyone,
I am facing a problem in dates in creating a process order in Production .
In the tcode COR1, when input the BASIC START DATE manually, the BASIC FINISH DATE ,scheduled start date and finished dates should get calculated automatically  as per standard SAP.
The problem that I am facing is that , if I input the BASIC START DATE in future , the scheduled start date and finished dates are always coming as  the system date.
whatever date I input in the BASIC START DATE  the scheduled start date and finished dates are always coming as  the system date.
But this is not happening in quality and development server .
Please help me if you have any solution
    Thanks
    Bijay

    Dear ,
1.Scheduling parameter for new process order type and plant combination, to be defined at OPUZ . U can copy the settings at standard order type PI01.Here you should keep Backward Scheduling as Scheduling Type  and Keep the adjustment  Scheduling as Adjust to Basic Date , depenent requirement Date .
Now  Order Basic finish date = Order Basic start date + float before prod + Lead Time of Operations (operation time from routing )+ float after prod.
These floats are predefined in SMK  and assinged to material master .It comes through Planned Order after MRP run andcoped to Production Order .
.2.Check and Define Scheduling Margine key in MRP -Carry All over all palnt paremtres (OPPQ)
If you are MTS process , then Keep the Scheudling Type as Forward .Enter the Basic Start date and Scheduling Margine Days ( Opening periods , FBP, FAP) and then hit the Scheduling Indicator .It will calcuate all the dates based on the SMK and operation setup and propose you Basic Finish Date .
So adjust the Flaots in SMK tab in process order , enter Basic Finish Date , Choose Bacward Scheduling to arraive Basic Start  or Go in reverse direction by choosing Forward scheduling .
    Hope its clear
    Regards

  • Basic dates and production dates

    dear all,
    i have made a PIR using MD61 for 01.04.2010,
after that, i run the MRP using MD02 to make the planned order, so when i open the MD04 tcode, the planned order has been created for 01.04.2010 too...
the problem is when i convert that planned order to production order, when i check the finish date of the production order, it has been change to 02.04.2010, why the start dates and finish dates changes in the production order???
    best regard,
    MARUFAT

    Hi,
i have check in OPU3, the schduling type is backward, and the automatic scheduling is tick
i also check in MRP view, the scheduling margin key is 000 so there is no float time problem, and the GR processing time is 0,
i run the MRP RUn MD02 using planning type 1 using basic dates
but when i convert the planned order into production order, the finish date always change,
so, if the finish date in the planned order is 01.04.2010 , after i convert into production order, the finish date change into 02.04.2010
what makes me confuse is that the scheduling time is backward, but why all the finish date of the planned order after i convert to production order change into +1 days after the finish dates ??
can you help me to solve this problem?
    regard

  • Early schedule start date, early schedule finish date

I want early schedule start date, early schedule finish date and project cost plan in my report. This is a PS requirement. In the standard cube (0PS_C02) I can find actual start date and actual finish date. Has anybody used early schedule start date and early schedule finish date in the reports? If yes then did you get it using standard cube/ODS or you went for enhancement?

    HI,
He have to go for few tables in which u can find all the data.
Firstly u have to enhance the datasource .
First go to table AFKO here you insert  AFUNR (Order Number) this table you will get AUFPL .
Then take AUFLP and go to AFVV table and insert AFUPL . you will get all the activites and all dates of each activity  for example early start date ,early finish date, foirecost date etc.
    Thanks and Regards
