Batch printing Yosemite in with Xerox Workcentre 7545 -  authentication fails

Hi,
I have been trying to figure out how to batch printing with Yosemite to our Xerox machine. I did not find anything that could help so far. I contact Xerox and Apple costumer service but no luck. The problem is that I have a lot of exams to print and I can only submit one by one using Yosemite. I use a software to prepare the exams and it produces files in pdf format. For example, this week I had 340 exams to print. Imagine open one by one to print and enter your passcode every time. I gave up when I realize I could not do batch printing anymore. I use to be able to do that with Mavericks or older versions. Now with Yosemite, when I go to the printer and look at the options there is nothing related to Authentication. If I select all the files to send then to print, it all fail because of invalid user id. What I do is to switch to Windows. I was wondering if there is any work around it? For example, in Windows when you go to the printers you can go the the options and select the Xerox printer and then under "accounting" enter your passcode. That feature is completely missing in Yosemite. Even in Linux I can print using the Xerox machine. You can select the Xerox features when printing a file, but not in batch. I could concatenate the files and print everything at once, but then I would have to staple them manually.
Any suggestion will be appreciated.
Thank you.

Looking at the log, the Xerox rep might be correct about permissions. As the log shows the psto7750ps is a filter located in the Mac HD/Library/Printers/Xerox/PDEs folder and for this managed account is failing. So check the permissions on this PDEs folder and the file to ensure all users have Read & Write. Even if Everyone is listed with R/W, it may help to add the managed account to the list.
As a test you could create another queue to this AD printer but set the Print Using to Generic PostScript. This printer will not use the psto7750ps filter so if it works then you know it has something to do with this filter. I would then print the same file from the local account and check that this filter is also being called and is not erroring.
Note that depending on what function this filter performs it may not always be called unless something special is selected in the print menu. This would usually be the case for plugins located in the PDE folder (which stands for Print Dialog Extension) but since this is a filter (but in the PDE folder?) then it may be called every time its queue is used.

  • Help with Xerox Workcentre 7232 & Mountain Lion 10.8.4

I just updated to 10.8.4 today, and I lost the ability to print to both my Brother MFC-J6710DW (wireless connect) and Xerox WorkCentre 7232 (wired connect) printers.  Any suggestions?

I have a DocuCenter-IV C4470, it was working fine till I changed my router and forgot to change the IP setting coresponding to my printer IP....  First thing I did was to delete my printer on my Mac (bad move); then once I realized I can just change the IP setting on my router but everything was too late.  After I re-install the printer on my Mac, i can not print anymore, the printer kept telling me this JCL Syntax Error 016-749.  I tried downloading the latest driver from Fuji Xerox for OS X 10.8, but it didn't work, still showing the same error.  I looked everywhere I could, both in Chinese & English sites, nothing really help.  After spending 6 & plus hours, I finally found a solution. I went back to Fuji Xerox web site, downloaded all the possible drivers that fit my printer model; tried install every one of them, finally I found this drvier named "Macintosh OS X printer driver", this is none of the recent drivers, and it seems like an genetic driver for all DocuCenter printers.  However, it works!!!  I do not know how many ppl have this same JCL error problem, but this solution works for me.  By the way, I even call the service center and discussed a while with the tech support; what they've told me is pretty much we can find on the web; they suppose to send someone over to take a look tomorrow, but I guess I do not need it.  Good luck to those who has the same problem, and hope my solution can reslove yours, too.

    Hi,
I have made a number of .psd files which i need to print in order and on a regular basis. All I want to do is find a way to batch print them.
Instead of individually opening each file and selecting print, then moving onto the next file etc.
Is there any way to do this? Can I use cmd to batch print them?
    Any help is Appreciated

Here's the worlds shortest action tutorial:
    Open an image.
Make the Actions panel visible by clicking Window-Actions.
Use the panel fly-out menu button (at the upper right) to create a new set, then again to create a new action.
With the "record" (round red dot) button active at the bottom of the Actions panel, print the one image.  This will record your step(s) as an action.
Hit the Stop button at the bottom of the Actions panel.
Now you have recorded an action that prints an open document.  You can automate this action over multiple files with the File - Automate - Batch menu.

  • With Administrator Privileges Error:  Authentication Failed

i have an applescript app with the following line:
do shell script "/System/Library/StartupItems/CiscoTUN/CiscoTUN restart" with administrator privileges
When I run this script in Script Editor, I'm prompted for the admin username/password, but when I run the script saved as an application, i receive:
    "Authentication failed."
I've tried this script with and without "sudo" preceding the rest of the shell script, but it behaves the same either way.
Any clue why "with administrator privileges" is working in Script Editor but not when the application is run alone? Thanks!

    Hello
My wild shot in the dark.
If you have not saved your script as application bundle, try saving it as such.
Applet as application bundle contains universal binary while applet as (non-bundle) application contains ppc binary, which is run via Rosetta in x86mac.
    This might make difference.

  • Trouble initiating "Create"a scan with Acrobat Pro on Yosemite paired with XEROX 6015NI

I am on Mac Yosemite, using Acrobat Pro, trying to initiate a scan through "Create" a document from scanner (Xerox 6015NI, newly installed). Acrobat allowed me to pick the scanner in the first dialogue window, but when I pressed "scan", a new dialogue box pops up and tells me it cannot find scanner and suggested there may be some address issues... How can I fix this? The Xerox documentation that came with the machine is limited at best...

    Hi,
Did you try to remove the scanner manually from system preferences and then add the scanner again? does the error also occur when you use image-capture?

  • Xerox workcentre 7535 print driver no longer works with Mavericks 10.9.2

Unable to change any settings in Print dialog pane for Xerox WorkCentre 7535. Xerox says its an Apple software problem. They have issed three revised drivers since Apple released Mavericks OS-X 10.9.2. Not only does latest driver (4-11-14) not work, their universal driver for Mavericks no longer works. Anybody else trying to print on a Xerox device?

I think I solved this.  Our Canada office has a WorkCentre 7556, and it was having the same problem(s).
Here's what I found and did:
Log into the printer's web interface.  Go to the Properties tab.  On that page, expand General Setup.  Then click Configuration Report.
Find and click the link for Machine Hardware.  In that box, find a line item for Finisher Type.  Scribble down or remember your finisher type (ours was Xerox Professional Finisher).
On the Mac in question, go to System Preferences, Printers & Scanners.  Find your Xerox printer, click Options & Supplies, and then the Options button.  Now on our machine, from a default installation, the finisher was set to OCT (Offset Catch Tray) and was greyed out.  Changing this to the correct finisher mentioned above made all of our errors go away.
Cheers, good luck, and um, I guess mark as Answered if this works for you please?

  • Batch-printing many PDF-files

    Hi,
In our workflow we have hundreds of PDf-files in many different subfolders we need to print on a monthly basis. We COULD print them manually... but that would be expensive, time-wise. So I figured I would make an action in Acrobat Pro X that would do the trick.
And it works... except for one thing - the "Add folders" adds ALL supported files in the sub-folders, which makes it a bit useless for our purposes. I can't see any way to sort by filetype or any way to tell it to only add specific extensions.
Is there any easy way to do this? I'm open to scripting - perhaps Illustrator might be better for this purpose?
    BR
    Thomas

I do this daily...If you have Adobe 9 or older the process is alot eaiser for some reason Adobe made this feature more difficult, y? i don't know but here you go...
    Acrobat X
Acrobat X replaces "Sequences" with "Actions", and unfortunately doesn't include a built-in "Print All" Action. So you will need to create one.
    1. Choose File > Action Wizard > Create New Action
    2. Fill in the "Create New Action" dialog box as shown below.
    3. Click the Save button.
    4. Give the Action a name, such as "Print" and click the Save button.
    5. Now each time you want to batch print PDF files with Acrobat X, just File > Action Wizard > Print, and follow the on-screen prompts.

  • Has anyone found a workaround driver for using a Xerox WorkCentre PE220 Series printer with Mountain Lion?

Has anyone found a workaround driver for using a Xerox WorkCentre PE220 Series printer with Mountain Lion?

    John -
My "Use" menu only contains Apple print drivers.  And Canon drivers, from the location I set this machine up.  None for my home use....which is a Xerox machine.
Not being on the menu, I don't know how to acquire this generic driver.
    Any further helpful hints?
I appreciate your thoughts and help.

  • Batch Printing with Desktop Printer

I have been batch printing with a desktop printer to a ethernet connected xerox phaser printer. The files are doc files that I drop onto the desktop printer to automatically print anywhere from 10-30 files at a time. I either use TextEdit or Pages as the default program for the files so I do not have to deal with the print dialog box that comes up with Microsoft Word. My problem is that if I send 20 files for example, only a certain number of them will actually print and the job of printing all of them is not completed. It appears random. Sometimes it may get through 5 and othertimes 15 files before it stops. There is no error message and it seems as if everything was sent to the xerox printer fine...
    Any advise would be appreciated

I spoke with Xerox support. They suggest typing your printers IP address in a browser, clicking on PROPERTIES, select GENERAL from the file menu on the left, then select PRINTER DEFAULTS. Change Timeout Settings from a default of 120 to 999.
Apparently the printer drops info if it takes longer than a specific duration so if there is network traffic or a large number of files are being sent all at once.
I just changed my settings so we shall see if this works

  • Printing to Xerox WorkCentre 7655 From Mac OS 10.4.9

I have a 1.5 GHz PowerBook G4 (1 GB RAM) and upgraded to Mac OS X (10.4.9) a couple of days ago. My printer (Xerox WorkCentre 7655, attached through Airport Wireless/Ethernet) will only print one copy, regardless of how many copies I request. If I request 200 copies, I still only receive one copy from the printer.
I noticed that one of the problem 10.4.9 "corrected" was the number of copies with the print server.
What gives? How do I get the number of copies I request to print out correctly?
I have shut everything down, re-set everything, reinstalled the printer drivers, and scoured the settings to make sure they are correct. This was clearly engaged when I upgraded to 10.4.9... Any helpful thoughts?
    PowerBook G4   Mac OS X (10.4.9)

I have encountered the same problem -- only prints one copy, regardless of how many are requested -- with our Xerox WCP C2636. Xerox tech support reloaded and upgraded the software on the printer and I reinstalled the PPD on my machine. Choosing "collated" fixed the problem in Adobe InDesign CS2 and Adobe Acrobat Pro 7. But the problem persists in other apps, such as Word 2004, Preview and Pages. I spoke with Xerox level 2 sofware support; they were unable to reproduce the problem on their test Mac (I suspect it wasn't upgraded to 10.4.9).
I suppose that I am joining the increasingly large number of users who are eagerly awaiting a fix for this annoying and frustrating problem.

  • The printer page size setting is not working in Photoshop 5.1 with Xerox printer

I am attempting to print an output size larger than 8.5 x 11 and Photoshop will not change the size even though the printer setting is now at the larger size.  Illustrator and other programs will print but but Photoshop fails.  This is an issue in both the 32 and 64 bit versions.  Help!

I found the following on the Xerox site...tip of the hat to T Robinson:
Re: Photoshop CS6 on Win 7x64 prints only letter size on Workcentre 7655
    03-20-2013 12:28 PM
We have a Xerox WorkCentre 7435 PCL6, and I have been having a similar problem. I found a workaround in Photoshop CS5, which I will describe in case it is helpful to others. I just upgraded to Photoshop CS6 however, and the workaround no longer works with it. Instead I get an error message if I print a Job History Report. The message is partially cut off at the right margin of the page, but the part I can read says, "Completed with error(016-799): Print Instructi...on Fail detected in Decomposer." (The ellipsis indicates the part of the message that is cut off. What follows it appears on the next line down. I downloaded all updates to CS6 to see if that would help, but it did not.
Here is the workaround that worked for me on CS5:
    1) Click on "Print Settings" in the Print dialog
    2) On the pulldown Paper menu, select "Advanced Paper Selection"
    3) Select the tray where your tabloid (or legal) sized paper is loaded
    4) Click on the button at the right end of the "Paper Size" field to display the Paper Size dialog.
    5) Click on the down arrow button at the right end of the "Original Document Size" field and select "Tabloid" (or "Legal") from the menu.
    6) Click OK to close each of the open dialogs til you get back to the Print dialog and then print your document. The print preview should update to show you a preview reflecting the selected paper size. (This may take a few seconds to happen.)
This worked for me in CS5. Unfortunately, as noted above, it does not seem to work in CS6. The only workaround I can come up with for CS6 is to save the file as a PDF and then print it from Acrobat. This works without a problem, but it's a lot of trouble to go to every time I have to print something other than letter size.
If anyone finds a better workaround in CS6, please let me know.
