BBM Profile Pictures in Middle East Issue

Dears,
Im having a problem while changing the BBM Profile Picture on Z10 Device with a service provider in Qatar, While all the trouble shooting steps has been done and i found all the BBM users inside Middle East are facing the same issue with BB10 in Qatar,UAE,KSA,Kuwait as well.For some how i tried once to do a work around and after so many trials i found a temp. solution it made it works which removing the Facebook application. But this is not the perfect scenario from RIM ... So is there any estimated time to solve this issue in the Middle East or shall we wait for a software update and wishing if the issue got solved or no ??!!..

Sorry to hear you are having issues with BlackBerry Messenger.
Can you please confirm the BlackBerry 10 Software version on your BlackBerry z10 smartphone? (Settings>About>"Drop Down menu" OS>OS Version)
Is your BBM profile picture not updating for your BBM Contacts?
Are the BBM contacts missing their avatar's in BlackBerry Messenger?
Can you please confirm what "troubleshooting" has been completed (does this include reloading your BlackBerry z10 smartphone)?
Have you received an error message when reproducing the issue with BBM?

Problem with BBM profile picture

Dear All,
Last few days when I change my BBM profile picture, it didn't show or updated on my friends. I was using BBM 5.0.1.38 before. Due to this matter I upgraded my BBM to 5.0.1.41. But even after upgrade it didn't help. Same problem still occurs, profile picture didn't change but BBM status work just fine. I already tried to reinstall BBM several times, battery pull, resend service book, re register HRT, and even wipe my BB and still cant solve this matter.
I notice that some of my friends are experiencing same things too
I'm using 9550/5.0.0.983. Please advice.

Hello,
Try uninstalling and reinstalling BlackBerry Messenger from
www.blackberry.com/messenger in your BlackBerry Browser.
Also if you have Facebook installed remove it then reboot. Reinstall BBM
from www.blackberry.com/messenger and test again.

BBM Profile Picture Updates Error

Hi There,
I have bb Z10 and I have change my bbm profile picture many times but my contacts are unable to see my picture updates they can only see my old profile picture. i have restarted the phone many time and follow many instruction from friends but nothing worked. however if i change my status it showed to my contacts. My sister have the same problem and she is using bb Q10. Could you please help me to fix the problem since i have this problems for more than a month now.

Hi There, Thanks for the reply, I did fix the bbm pp updates by reload the device. However when I tried to restore my backup data from blackeberry link, it keep giving me error message "restore did not complete". Now I lost everything from my phone. Then I tried to restore the backup data to my bold 9900 from blackberry desktop manager, it did successfully restore but not all the data get restore.

To resolve this issue, I suggest re-installing BBM by going to www.blackberry.com/bbm and then restart the BlackBerry Torch 9800 smartphone and then test your avatars.

Cant change my bbm profile picture

Ever since i updated to the new OS, my bbm profile pic has not been updated. My software release is : 10.1.0.273. OS versipn : 10.1.0.1720. This is very frustrating, pls help

Are you not able to actually click in your BBM profile > click on your picture and choose another picture?
Can you see the new picture ON your Z10 or not?
If you can see it, can your BBM friends?

BBM Profile Picture Z10

When I update my profile picture on BBM it changes on my phone, but it doesn't change so that my contacts see the same picture.?

Hi, I solved the problem. I did a security WIPE. I 1st did a backup via BlackBerry Link on my laptop.
Now working just fine.

My blackberry bbm display picture is stuck and not changing since 3 days! I tried every possible way i could think of and its still not working

My husband finally fixed his Q10 problem by reloading BB OS. Here is the link that he used.. Which version of BBM you have Installed on your device , you can try reinstalling to see if it reflects any changes. If you have BBM7 then your contacts are stored with BlackBerry ID but if you any previous version then first do a backup of your BBM contacts locally
KB20554 How to back up and restore the BlackBerry Messenger contact list
Once you done with it , Uninstall BlackBerry Messenger from Options > Device > Application Management > Delete BlackBerry Messenger from there . Perform a battery pull restart by removing the battery while your device is Powered On wait a min. then re-insert it back.
After reboot from your BlackBerry browser browse to or click here www.blackberry.com/bbm to download the recent available for your device . After installing see if that helps in resolving your issue.
Click " Like " if you want to Thank someone.
If Problem Resolves mark the post(s) as " Solution ", so that other can make use of it.

Replace friends profile pictures with those in my contacts

Hi, anybody here know how to replace friend's bbm profile pictures with those in contact phone book like those before BB10?
On my 9700 & 9780, I can link a BBM contact with my phonebook contact, and I'd an option to use phonebook contact picture foe the BBM contact.
Anyone got it working or it's just another function discarded by BB10?

Do you see profile pictures for any of your contacts at all? Or is it that you only see it for selected ones?
All those that don't show a profile picture to you (but you've confirmed with them that they have one) can you check that right-clicking on their contact the menu doesn't show a "Resend contact request" option?

Can't get a profile picture on BBM

Hi! I just got my Curve 8530 today and downloaded Blackberry Messenger. Now everyone is telling me I need a profile picture for BBM. I have gone to BBM and hit menu and there is no My Profile option. It says My Info, but nowhere is there a place to add a picture. Is there something I'm missing here? I have searhed everywhere on Google.

With no Profile image specified you should have a "generic" image. Of you highlight that image and click it it should take you to your saved images. Select an image and it will go to show your image with a cropping square. A menu then is active for cropping and saving.
Having a profile image is not something that is "needed" as in "required".
Once you have an image you will have active menu items for subsequently changing the image.

I can no longer receive my email through firefox. Also my facebook account doesn't show some of the profile pictures show a different person on someone's name. It appears this is a firefox issues as when I go to explorer it is not a problem at all.

It seems that through firefox I cannot receive my emails through charter.net and have always been able to before. Also, on my facebook page, profile pictures aren't showing up on some people and on some people a totally different person is showing up. It seems to be a firefox issue because when I get on internet explorer everything is fine? How can I get this problem taken care of? Can my 8.0 be updated.

This issue can be caused by corrupted cookies or cookies that are blocked.
*check the permissions on the about:permissions page and in "Tools > Page Info > Permissions"
Clear the cache and remove cookies only from websites that cause problems.

Middle-East Languages support - Will it ever be so...

Dear the Skype support team,
As an Israeli user who's using Skype a lot for work and private purposes, After so many years I really can't understand why there's no any Middle-East languages full support. Of course, you can to change the language to hebrew, but then everything is mixed up because it's built on the base of Left-to-Right languages, like English etc.
I am attaching a few images to show the difference between how it is right now using Hebrew with skype and how it is should be like.
Skype home:

As you can see the all interface should be RTL, starting with changing the places of the Skype home and the contacts and recent window tabs, as the status changing, the friends latest updates which should be RTL (the profile picture and the text in opposite sides), changing the place between the "recent" and "contacts" tabs, and also there to change the place between the contacts profile picture to theirs Skype nickname and status.

Profile Picture on Facebook application

Good day, someone please help my facebook Blackberry application does not want to load my profile pictures from my album anymore, it say the phone cannot make contact with the Blackberry server

That has been a commonly reported issue over the past two months, for which no solution has been found. My best advice, keep trying. It will work with many tries. You might also try reducing the size of your image you are attempting to upload.

BB Z10 OS Update to 10.0.10.85 in the Middle East

Any hope to get BB Z10 OS Update to 10.0.10.85 in the Middle East.... Why always last countries will be the Middle East and we are good consumers for Blackberry......... We are getting shock after shock from blackberry (no Skype, No whatsapp, No viber and no updates)........... Any one has any idea why???
